The OFDM-PON and SCFDM-PON based on powerful digital signal processing (DSP) are promising candidates for next-generation optical access networks. Recently polarization-division-multiplexing (PDM) transmission with direct detection has been proposed for OFDM-PON to effectively reduce the bandwidth requirement of optical and electrical components. However, the PDM scheme has high algorithm complexity. In this paper, we propose a polarization interleaving (PI) approach, which can significantly reduce the bandwidth requirement for components while achieving a similar 2×2 MIMO algorithm with coherently-detected PDM-OFDM scheme. Downstream PI-SCFDM transmission is experimentally demonstrated. The scheme can be easily extended to OFDM-PON.  相似文献

大气湍流对无线光通信系统的影响不可忽视,为了更准确地反映实验室模拟多输入、多输出(MIMO)大气湍流信道的实际特征,提出了一种利用相位屏来模拟MIMO大气湍流信道的方法,并针对基于液晶空间光调制器(LC-SLM)的液晶调制法展开研究,通过实验验证该方法的可行性。实验结果表明:通过相位屏模拟MIMO大气湍流信道的激光光斑发生不同程度的畸变,湍流环境下两路激光发射系统比单路发射激光系统功率稳定性好,在前向纠错误差极限(3.8×10-3)下,单个发射单个接收系统的链路代价为10.5 dB,2个发射2个接收的MIMO系统的链路代价为9.3 dB。该项研究对于实验室模拟MIMO大气湍流信道实验方法提供一种新思路。  相似文献

We proposed a sandwich structure to realize broadband asymmetric transmission(AT) for both linearly and circularly polarized waves in the near infrared spectral region. The structure composes of a silica substrate and two sand-clock-like gold layers on the opposite sides of the substrate. Due to the surface plasmons of gold, the structure shows that the AT parameters of linearly and circularly polarized waves can reach 0.436 and 0.403, respectively. Meanwhile, a broadband property is presented for the AT parameter is over 0.3 between 320 THz and 340 THz. The structure realizes a diode-like AT for linearly wave in forward and circularly wave in backward, respectively. The magnetic dipoles excited by current in the two gold layers contribute to the broadband AT. The current density in top and bottom metallic layers illustrates the mechanism of the polarization conversion for broadband AT in detail.  相似文献

A novel polarization monitoring scheme for polarization division multiplexed (PDM) systems is proposed. By using a tag light transmitted in different but close wavelength to the data signal as the feedback control, the scheme can demultiplex automatically two orthogonal polarizations in PDM systems. The effectiveness of the scheme is demonstrated experimentally in a 2×10-Gb/s on-off-keying (OOK) PDM transmission system.  相似文献

We propose a design of a low loss terahertz polarization splitter based on a dual-core terahertz fiber with crossed dielectric strips in the fiber cross section. Low transmission loss is realized by extending the mode field to the air holes adjacent to the solid material. An 11.4-cm-long terahertz polarization splitter is obtained with the extinction ratio better than −15 dB and a bandwidth of 16 μm.  相似文献

The results of experiments on the polarization of nuclei of the 24 Na radioactive isotope in a gas trap are presented. The action of the trap is based on the effect of the photoinduced drift of atoms caused by laser radiation. The anisotropy of γ-radiation emitted by 24Na during the illumination of sodium vapor in the trap by circularly polarized laser radiation is measured and its dependence on the temperature of the trap walls is analyzed. A degree of polarization of 24Na nuclei of 62 ± 2% is attained at temperatures above 1300 K, for which a rapid desorption of Na atoms from the walls and the decomposition of Na-based compounds take place.  相似文献

We propose and demonstrate label encoding-swapping and transmission for an orthogonally labeled packet by use of a 10-Gbit/s amplitude shift keying payload and a 2.5-Gbit/s polarization shift keying (PolSK) label. A simple scheme for demodulating and demultiplexing the PolSK label based on an injection-locked Fabry-Perot laser diode is described. The extinction ratio of the newly added PolSK label can be precisely controlled and maintained after the intermediate node.  相似文献

Multiview autostereoscopic systems display three-dimensional (3D) images interleaved from parallax images to provide adequate viewing zones for viewers. A 3D image interleaving method based on parallel processing with Graphic Processing Unit (GPU) is proposed to accelerate the image interleaving for real-time autostereoscopic displays. The proposed method is implemented with Direct3D Application Programming Interface (API) library. Masks used to interleave the 3D images are generated according to some particular principles. Both multiple texture blending and alpha blending operations are used to interleave a 3D image. The experiments prove that high interleaving efficiency and good stereoscopic sense can be obtained. The proposed method meets the requirement of real-time multiview autostereoscopic displays and avoids extra shader program.  相似文献

Polarization mode dispersion (PMD) compensation is addressed by decomposition of a fiber's Jones matrix into amplitude and phase responses, which are then compensated for separately. Cubic and higher-order phase compensation substantially reduce the cumulative probability at a given system penalty over first-order PMD compensation, as demonstrated for a 40-Gbit/s non-return-to-zero signal and a fiber PMD with a differential group delay of 20 ps (rms). Single-stage all-pass filters provide tunable compensation that is comparable to that obtained with a variable-delay line, and multistage all-pass filters are well suited for higher-order phase compensation.  相似文献

In Brillouin distributed optical fiber sensor, using optical coherent detection to detect Brillouin scattering optical signal is a good method, but there exists the polarization correlated detection problem. A novel detecting scheme is presented and demonstrated experimentally, which adopts orthogonal polarization diversity reception to resolve the polarization correlated detection problem. A laser is used as pump and reference light sources, a microwave electric-optical modulator (EOM) is adopted to produce frequency shift reference light, a polarization controller is used to control the polarization of the reference light which is changed into two orthogonal polarization for two adjacent acquisition periods. The Brillouin scattering light is coherently detected with the reference light, and the Brillouin scattering optical signal is taken out based on Brillouin frequency shift. After electronic processing, better Brillouin distributed sensing signal is obtained. A 25-km Brillouin distributed optical fiber sensor is achieved.  相似文献

Optical fiber has evolved from a not-so-transparent glass tube to an extraordinarily efficient transmission medium. It is now acknowledged as a central element of modern telecommunication, being part of the whole optimization process to further improve transmission system performance and cost. Due to their high brightness at resonance, 1D metallo-dielectric transmission gratings have been proposed as useful in a number of applications including Scanning Near-field Optical Microscopy (SNOM), flat-panel displays, spatial light modulators and optoelectronic devices. In this article, using the Fabry–Perot resonance condition and numerical optimization, we demonstrate a design methodology of 1D grating structure that provides resonance at a desired wavelength for Transverse Magnetic (TM) polarization. Depending on grating and substrate materials and target applications under consideration, our method provides optimum grating parameters, i.e. slit width, grating period and thickness adaptively. Application specific requirements such as the bandwidth around a resonance can be adjusted by setting appropriate constraint functions. Simulations results from modal analysis show that resonances are achieved at wavelengths for which grating parameters have been optimized.  相似文献

偏振波动是谐振式光纤陀螺(R-FOG)的主要噪声之一,它对信号检测精度具有重要影响。通过矩阵法得到了透过式R-FOG中由偏振波动引起的系统零漂与偏振噪声相关参数、环形谐振腔结构参数间的关系表达式。在一定的透过式R-FOG系统结构参数下,对上述解析表达式进行了数值拟合,通过估算可满足高精度透过式R-FOG系统对偏振相关参数的要求,为偏振波动噪声的理论分析和R-FOG系统的实际搭建提供了理论基础。  相似文献

Using a combination of linear polarization filters, a new method to generate the optical Hilbert transform (OHT) is described. Linear polarizers, acting as knife-edge filters in the spatial frequency plane and together with an image plane analyzer, can produce at the output, the input signal, its analytical function and its OHT. Both one and two dimensional, also angularly anisotropic and isotropic, OHTs are discussed. With a white light source, this method also produces a white light HT (WHT).  相似文献

The unusual behaviour of the optical polarization degree of 29Si nuclei as a function of the illumination time has been found in silicon single crystals heavily doped with gadolinium. The effect of an external magnetic field on the process of optical nuclear polarization has been studied. It has been shown that the presence of second phase precipitations in heavily doped silicon leads to the complex unexponential establishment of the optical nuclear polarization degree with illumination time.  相似文献

We show theoretically and demonstrate experimentally that highly absorbing particles can be trapped and manipulated in a single highly focused Gaussian beam. Our studies of the effects of polarized light on such particles show that they can be set into rotation by elliptically polarized light and that both the sense and the speed of their rotation can be smoothly controlled.  相似文献

Magnetic resonance of133Cs nuclei was observed in free Cs2 dimers employing the method of optical pumping in combination with atom-molecule nuclear orientation transfer. This novel method allows measurements ofn m r spectra in free diamagnetic molecules, atom-dimer exchange cross sections, dissociative collision cross sections of dimers against buffer gases and intramolecular relaxation. The dimer-atom exchange cross section for Cs-Cs2 isσ DE =(1.9±0.4)·10?14cm2, the dissociative dimer-buffergas collisions show the expected exponential behaviour in temperature.  相似文献

偏振成像探测能反映出传统光学成像所无法反映的物体的信息,为了克服计算偏振参量图像丢失细节信息的不足,在已有偏振图像融合方法的基础上,提出一种基于综合图像特征的融合方法。相较于已有算法突出图像的某一方面特征,该算法提取图像的灰度特征、纹理特征和形状特征,据此确定融合权值,对图像进行融合,能够较好地反映目标的细节信息,融合后的图像相较于普通光强图像,方差、信息熵分别提高了12.6%、17.5%,平均梯度从0.59提高到1.83。针对该方法用到的特征维数较高的问题,提供了一种简化算法,耗时从3054降至1337。  相似文献

In this Letter, properties of a pedestal-supported silicon waveguide are investigated, showing that it supports single polarization transmission. The pedestal is fabricated easily through a wet-etching process on strip waveguides. Theoretical analysis shows that this property is due to the leakage of quasi-TM mode when the pedestal width is small. A polarization extinction ratio larger than 20 dB at 1550 nm is measured in the pedestal waveguide sample, demonstrating single polarization transmission property experimentally. Thanks to its large single polarization transmission bandwidth, robustness in fabrication tolerance, and simple fabrication process, pedestal waveguides will have potential applications as simple silicon-integrated polarizers.  相似文献

The nuclear polarization of3He by optical pumping using discharge lamps is described, as well as attempts (both successful and unsuccessful) to make a polarized3He target. Recent experimental results with a polarized3He target are presented.
