Non-uniform step-size distribution is implemented for split-step based nonlinear compensation in single- channel 112-Gb/s 16 quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM) transmission. Numerical simulations of the system including a 20×80 km uncompensated link are performed using logarithmic step size distribution to compensate signal distortions. 50% of reduction in number of steps with respect to using constant step sizes is observed. The performance is further improved by optimizing nonlinear calculating position (NLCP) in case of using constant step sizes while NLCP optimization becomes unnecessary when using logarithmic step sizes, which reduces the computational effort due to uniformly distributed nonlinear phase for all successive steps.  相似文献

We research an efficient BER estimation method for 112-Gb/s polarization division multiplexing coherent optical OFDM (PDM CO-OFDM) with QPSK mapping over 800 km SSMF based on Eb/No algorithm in this paper. We first lay out the related formulas’ derivation to set up the theoretical basis for the feasibility of Eb/No algorithm and then we implement a series of simulations to illustrate the relationship of BER (and Q factor) versus OSNR, launch power of transmitter, chromatic dispersion and nonlinearity in optical fiber link via both Eb/No algorithm and Monte Carlo algorithm. The simulations demonstrate that BER estimated by Eb/No algorithm can achieve a precision up to 10−16 just with 105 bits while Monte Carlo algorithm needs at least 1018 bits to get the same level. Therefore, Eb/No allows a quick and reliable method for BER estimation instead of the time consuming Monte Carlo method, which can be used to support simulations with various conditions.  相似文献

We demonstrate a novel 40-Gb/s transmission system over a 10×101-km standard single mode fiber (SSMF) loop. This system features polarization multiplexed quadrature phase shift keying (PolMux-QPSK), lowvoltage modulation of 2-V peak-to-peak signal amplitude, and home-made 90° optical hybrid with singleended digital coherent detection. Any power amplifers before the modulator and balanced detectors are not used. In the case of low-voltage modulation, coherent detection is much less sensitive to modulator bias offset than delay interferometer-based demodulation.  相似文献

The use of Bell Laboratories layered space-time (BLAST) architecture as a digital signal processing algorithm is proposed in this letter.It is aimed at improving the nonlinearity tolerance of a polarization division multiplexing (PDM) coherent optical orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (CO-OFDM) system.The application of this channel estimation algorithm simulates system performance under different dispersion compensation (DC) maps.Simulation results show that,compared with intra-symbol frequency-domain averaging (ISFA) algorithm,at least 5-dB Q-factor improvement is achieved for the PDM CO-OFDM system at 112-Gb/s data rate over an 800-km standard single-mode fiber (SSMF) without DC.  相似文献

In this paper, an improved novel joint channel estimation algorithm is proposed for the 112 Gbit/s PDM CO-OFDM system. This method combines the advantages of the intra-symbol frequency domain averaging (ISFA) method and the time domain averaging (TA) method, which can realize more accuracy channel estimation. Simulation results show that this proposal could promise a relatively stable performance even under a rapidly time varying environment. It significantly outperforms the ISFA method by 2.2 dB when the DGD equals 1000 ps, and has the advantages of 0.5 dB over ISFA in considering the laser linewidth and frequency offset.  相似文献

We provide a review of our recent 100-Gb/s, high spectral efficiency (SE) experiment targeting transoceanic and regional undersea transmission distances. We demonstrated that simple pre-filtering at the transmitter together with a maximum a posteriori probability (MAP) detection algorithm can significantly improve SE. We transmitted 96×100-Gb/s pre-filtered polarization division multiplexed return-to-zero quadrature phase shift keyed (PDM-RZ-QPSK) channels with 300% SE over 10608 km using 52-km spans of 150-μm 2 fiber and simple single-stage erbium-doped fiber amplifiers (EDFAs). We also achieved 400% SE over 4368 km using similar techniques.  相似文献

Transmission performance of six modulation formats is numerically compared in 40 × 40-Gb/s wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) repeaterless systems. The results indicate that return-to-zero differential phase shift keying (RZ-DPSK) (33% duty cycle) demonstrates the best performance among all the formats when the accumulated amplified spontaneous emission power (AASEP) is small. But with the increasing of AASEP, the superiority of RZ-DPSK transmission performance over the other five modulation formats is vanished. AASEP is justified to be the major source for the deterioration of the superiority.  相似文献

In this paper, optical phase conjugation (OPC) located in the transmitter based on four wave mixing (FWM) in a semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA) is first simulated in 40 Gb/s CO-OFDM systems, and the fiber nonlinearity impairment of the transmission link is precompensated before OPC by transmission through a fiber with large nonlinearity coefficient. Simulation results show that the nonlinear threshold (NLT) can be increased by about > 3 dB and maximum Q factor can be increased by about 2 dB for the single-channel system. For 50-GHz-Spacing WDM systems, the maximum Q and NLT are increased by about 1 dB, even in the presence of cross phase modulation (XPM) from neighbouring WDM channels. It is found that this OPC subsystem located in the transmitter, not necessary to be inserted into the middle of link, can mitigate the fiber nonlinearity impairment for both single-channel and WDM systems.  相似文献

We investigate the pattern dependency of the 40-Gb/s optical duobinary signals generated by a 10-Gb/s-rated Mach-Zehnder modulator with four different configurations. These configurations correspond to all possible combinations of a 15-GHz-bandwidth low-pass filter and a 0.24-nm bandwidth optical filter used to shape up the duobinary signals. We compare through experiment the back-to-back sensitivities and transmission performances of the duobinary signals for pseudorandom bit sequence lengths of 27-1 and 231-1. The results show that the combination of the 10-Gb/s-rated modulator and the 0.24-nm optical filter exhibits the best performance in terms of both the receiver sensitivity and pattern dependency owing to the good frequency response of the optical filter.  相似文献

Polarization-multiplexing quadrature phase shift keying (PM-QPSK) has become a key ingredient in the design of 100 and 200-Gb/s dense wavelength-division multiplexed (DWDM) networks. The performance of the system using these formats varies according to the shape of the pulses employed by the optical carrier: non-return to zero (NRZ), return to zero (RZ) or carrier-suppressed return to zero (CSRZ). In this paper, we analyse the tolerance of PM-QPSK to linear and nonlinear optical impairments, including amplified spontaneous emission (ASE) noise, crosstalk, distortion by optical filtering, chromatic dispersion (CD), polarization mode dispersion (PMD) and fibre Kerr nonlinearities. The simulation results show that RZ formats with a low-duty cycle have a higher tolerance to CD, PMD and intrachannel nonlinearities due to the reduction of pulse-to-pulse interaction. Conversely, the PM–NRZ-QPSK format has a higher spectral efficiency (SE) than other options and shows better tolerance to filtering distortion and CD in filterless networks.  相似文献

In this paper we present a synchronization method for chaotic Lur'e systems by constructing a new piecewise Lyapunov function. Using a delayed feedback control scheme, a delay-dependent stability criterion is derived for the synchronization of chaotic systems that are represented by Lur'e systems with deadzone nonlinearity. Based on the Lyapunov--Krasovskii functional and by using some properties of the nonlinearity, a new delay-dependent stabilization condition for synchronization is obtained via linear matrix inequality (LMI) formulation. The criterion is less conservative than existing ones, and it will be verified through a numerical example.  相似文献

This paper presents an efficient algorithm to cancel the parallel interference for multiuser detection (MUD) schemes in code division multiple access (CDMA) based 20.48 Gb/s optical multiple input multiple output orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (O-MIMO-OFDM) system over 1200 km of standard single mode fiber (SSMF). The performance of the system is compared by simulation results using the efficient algorithm and minimum mean square error (MMSE) schemes. 提出了一种基于混沌激光多位量化的高速物理随机数实时产生方法.利用外腔反馈混沌半导体激光器作为物理熵源,通过时钟速率为7 GHz的多位模数转换器对其采样量化,生成6位有效位的二进制随机比特,然后利用现场可编程软件抽取低2位有效位的随机序列并进行自延迟异或处理,获得了实时速率为14 Gb/s的物理随机数.该随机数具有良好的统计随机性,可成功通过随机数行业测试标准(NIST SP 800-22).  相似文献

Novel optical offset quadrature phase shift keying (OQPSK) and improved minimum-shift keying (MSK) modulation schemes to smooth optical phase hopping for high speed fiber optics transmission are proposed. Simulations have been done among the MSK, OQPSK, quadrature phase shift keying (QPSK), and binary phase-shift keying (BPSK) modulation formats at 40 Gb/s over 100-km transmission link using coherent detection. Simulation results present good performances to elevate chromatic dispersion tolerance and reduce the influence of nonlinear effects by adopting the smooth phase modulation formats. Inter-symbol interference decreases for the fast side-lobe property and tight spectrum as a result of avoding the π phase shift and reducing envelop fluctuation.  相似文献

By employing a nondeterministic noiseless linear amplifier, we propose to increase the maximum transmission distance of continuous-variable quantum key distribution with noisy coherent states. With the covariance matrix transformation, the expression of secret key rate under reverse reconciliation is derived against collective entangling cloner attacks. We show that the noiseless linear amplifier can compensate the detrimental effect of the preparation noise with an enhancement of the maximum transmission distance and the noise resistance.  相似文献

This paper reports the DSP-based prototype compensator we have made to compensate the polarization mode dispersion (PMD) in fibers. It was tested in one channel of a 40 × 43-Gb/s DWDM DQPSK system, which is the commercial product line, either in the back-to-back case by using a PMD emulator, or in a 1200-km transmission testbed. The prototype showed a good performance under the tests of fast SOP and PSP rotation, DGD jump variation, and moderate knock on the testbed in a period as long as 12 h.  相似文献
