The Fokker-Planck equation is useful to describe stochastic processes. Depending on the force acting in the system, the solution of this equation becomes complicated and approximate or numerical solutions are needed. The relation with the Schrödinger equation allows building a method to obtain solutions of the Fokker-Planck equation. However, this approach has been limited to the study of confined potentials, restricting its applicability. In this work, we suggest a general treatment for non-confining potentials through the use of series of functions based on the solution of the Schrödinger equation, with part of discrete spectrum and part of continuum spectrum. Two examples, the Rosen-Morse potential and a limited harmonic potential, are analyzed using the suggested approach.  相似文献

Abstract

The phenomenon of an implicit function which solves a large set of second order partial differential equations obtainable from a variational principle is explicated by the introduction of a class of universal solutions to the equations derivable from an arbitrary Lagrangian which is homogeneous of weight one in the field derivatives. This result is extended to many fields. The imposition of Lorentz invariance makes such Lagrangians unique, and equivalent to the Companion Lagrangians introduced in [1].  相似文献

Exact solutions of the Dirac equation in the Robertson–Walker space-time are obtained by an elementary separation method that represents a straightforward improvement of previous results. The radial equations are integrated by reporting them to hypergeometric equations. The separated time equations are solved exactly for three models of universe expansion and integrated by series in a case of the standard cosmological model. The integration of both radial and time equations represents an improvement of previous results.  相似文献

Wigner's classical theorem on symmetry transformations plays a fundamental role in quantum mechanics. It can be formulated, for example, in the following way: Every bijective transformation on the set ℒ of all 1-dimensional subspaces of a Hilbert space H which preserves the angle between the elements of ℒ is induced by either a unitary or an antiunitary operator on H. The aim of this paper is to extend Wigner's result from the 1-dimensional case to the case of n-dimensional subspaces of H with n∈ℕ fixed. In some special zones of the high-dimensional coordinate space of few-body systems with identical particles, the operation of an element (or a product of elements) of the symmetry groups of the Hamiltonian on a quantum state might be equivalent to the operation of another element. Making use of the matrix representations of the groups, the equivalence of a pair of operations leads to a set of homogeneous linear equations imposed on the wave functions. When the matrix of these equations is non-degenerate, the wave functions will appear as nodal surfaces in these zones. In this case, these zones are prohibited. In this paper, tightly bound 4-boson systems with three types of interaction have been studied analytically and numerically. The existence of the universal prohibited zones has been revealed, and their decisive effect on the structures of the eigenstates is demonstrated.  相似文献

The two-dimensional Vlasov equation is solved by direct integration in phase space. Two problems, namely the nonlinear evolution of the two-dimensional electrostatic two-stream instability, and the nonlinear evolution of a monochromatic wave in a two-dimensional Vlasov plasma, are studied. We apply the homotopy analysis method to solve the nonhomogeneous multidimensional partial differential equation model problem. The analytic solutions are calculated in terms of convergent series with easily computable components. The nonhomogeneous problem is quickly solved by observing the self-canceling "noise" terms whose sum vanishes in the limit. Numerical results clearly reveal the complete reliability and efficiency of the proposed algorithm.  相似文献

The Dorokhov–Mello–Pereyra–Kumar (DMPK) equation, using in the analysis of quasi-onedimensional systems and describing evolution of diagonal elements of the many-channel transfer-matrix, is derived under minimal assumptions on the properties of channels. The general equation is of the diffusion type with a tensor character of the diffusion coefficient and finite values of non-diagonal components. We suggest three different forms of the diagonal approximation, one of which reproduces the usual DMPK equation and its generalization suggested by Muttalib and co-workers. Two other variants lead to equations of the same structure, but with different definitions of their parameters. They contain additional terms, which are absent in the first variant. The coefficients of additional terms are shown to be finite beyond the metallic phase by calculation of the Lyapunov exponents and their comparison with numerical experiments. Consequences of the obtained equations for the problem of the conductance distribution and the status of the nonlinear sigma-models are discussed.  相似文献

Noncommutative integration of the Dirac massive and massless equations is performed in a four-dimensional flat space and in the de Sitter space of arbitrary signature. A new class of rigorous solutions of the Dirac equation is constructed in these spaces. The properties of the solutions obtained are examined.  相似文献
