A method of G. Wilson for generating commutative algebras of ordinary differential operators is extended to higher dimensions. Our construction, based on the theory of D-modules, leads to a new class of examples of commutative rings of partial differential operators with rational spectral varieties. Abstract

We apply the Lie-group formalism and the nonclassical method due to Bluman and Cole to deduce symmetries of the generalized Boussinesq equation, which has the classical Boussinesq equation as an special case. We study the class of functions f(u) for which this equation admit either the classical or the nonclassical method. The reductions obtained are derived. The quantization for a system containing subsidiary constraints (in configuration space) with a singular Lagrangian is studied, in certain case which can be brought into the theoretical framework of constrained Hamiltonian system. A modified Dirac-Bergmann algorithm for the calculation of all phase-space constraints in those systems is derived. The path integral quantization is formulated by using the Faddeev-Senjanovic scheme. The classical and quantum canonical symmetries (Noether theorem in canonical formalism) are established for such a system. An example is given to illustrate that the connection between the symmetry and conservation law in classical theory are not always validity in the quantum theory.  相似文献

In this paper, the two different Darboux transformations for a Blaszak-Marciniak (BM) three-field lattice equation are constructed. As the applications of the obtained Darboux transformations, new explicit solutions for the BM lattice are given. We also discuss some properties for these new explicit solutions. Anal. Appl. 289 (2004) 55, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 311 (2005) 479] are not all the nonclassical symmetries. Based on a new assume on the form of invariant surface condition, all the nonclassical symmetries for a class of nonlinear partial differential equations can be obtained through the compatibility method. The nonlinear Klein-Gordon equation and the Cahn-Hilliard equations all serve as examples showing the compatibility method leads quickly and easily to the determining equations for their all nonclassical symmetries for two equations.  相似文献

Two Darboux transformations of the (2+1)-dimensional Caudrey-Dodd-Gibbon-Kotera-Sawaka ( CDGKS) equation and (2+1)-dimensional modified Korteweg-de Vries (mKdV) equation are constructed through the Darboux matrix method, respectively. N-soliton solutions of these two equations are presented by applying the Darboux trans- formations N times. The right-going bright single-soliton solution and interactions of two and three-soliton overtaking collisions of the (2+1)-dimensional CDGKS equation are studied. By choosing different seed solutions, the right-going bright and left-going dark single-soliton solutions, the interactions of two and three-soliton overtaking collisions, and kink soliton solutions of the (2+1)-dimensional mKdV equation are investigated. The results can be used to illustrate the interactions of water waves in shallow water.  相似文献

We introduce two operator commutators by using different-degree loop algebras of the Lie algebra A1, then under the framework of zero curvature equations we generate two (2+1)-dimensional integrable hierarchies, in-cluding the (2+1)-dimensional shallow water wave (SWW) hierarchy and the (2+1)-dimensional Kaup-Newell (KN) hierarchy. Through reduction of the (2+1)-dimensional hierarchies, we get a (2+1)-dimensional SWW equation and a (2+1)-dimensional KN equation. Furthermore, we obtain two Darboux transformations of the (2+1)-dimensional SWW equation. Similarly, the Darboux transformations of the (2+1)-dimensional KN equation could be deduced. Finally, with the help of the spatial spectral matrix of SWW hierarchy, we generate a (2+1) heat equation and a (2+1) nonlinear generalized SWW system containing inverse operators with respect to the variables x and y by using a reduction spectral problem from the self-dual Yang-Mills equations.  相似文献

We tackle the problem of interpreting the Darboux transformation for the KP hierarchy and its relations with the modified KP hierarchy from a geometric point of view. This is achieved by introducing the concept of a Darboux covering. We construct a Darboux covering of the KP equations and obtain a new hierarchy of equations, which we call the Darboux-KP hierarchy (DKP). We employ the DKP equations to discuss the relationships among the KP equations, the modified KP equations, and the discrete KP equations. Our approach also handles the various reductions of the KP hierarchy. We show that the KP hierarchy is a projection of the DKP, the mKP hierarchy is a DKP restriction to a suitable invariant submanifold, and that the discrete KP equations are obtained as iterations of the DKP ones. Associated to every finite group, Kitaev has defined the quantum double model for every orientable surface without boundary. In this paper, we define boundaries for this model and characterize condensations; that is, we find all quasi-particle excitations (anyons) which disappear when they move to the boundary. We then consider two phases of the quantum double model corresponding to two groups with a domain wall between them, and study the tunneling of anyons from one phase to the other. Using this framework we discuss the necessary and sufficient conditions when two different groups give the same anyon types. As an application we show that in the quantum double model for S 3 (the permutation group over three letters) there is a chargeon and a fluxion which are not distinguishable. This group is indeed a special case of groups of the form of the semidirect product of the additive and multiplicative groups of a finite field, for all of which we prove a similar symmetry.  相似文献
