In this paper, a variable disparity estimation (VDE)-based intermediate view reconstruction (IVR) in dynamic flow allocation (DFA) over an Ethernet passive optical network (EPON)-based access network is proposed. In the proposed system, the stereoscopic images are estimated by a variable block-matching algorithm (VBMA), and they are transmitted to the receiver through DFA over EPON. This scheme improves a priority-based access network by converting it to a flow-based access network with a new access mechanism and scheduling algorithm, and then 16-view images are synthesized by the IVR using VDE. Some experimental results indicate that the proposed system improves the peak-signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR) to as high as 4.86 dB and reduces the processing time to 3.52 s. Additionally, the network service provider can provide upper limits of transmission delays by the flow. The modeling and simulation results, including mathematical analyses, from this scheme are also provided. 相似文献

For bottleneck problem of the broadband access networks, Ethernet-PON comes out as a striking and promising solution. Even though, EPON nodes necessitate a cost-effective up-gradation, WDM based topology proves to be a vigilant up-grading approach that deals with the deployment of multiple wavelengths in the upstream/downstream directions. Furthermore, only EPON nodes with privileged traffic can be WDM-upgraded. Accordingly, we propose and demonstrate a hybrid multiplexed OFDM/DWDM-EPON access network employing OSSB modulation scheme. Case A demonstrates a single channel OFDM-OSSB-EPON system and achieves a fiber link of 27 km with split ratio of 16. Afterwards, a contrast between OFDM-EPON and conventional EPON (C-EPON) after a fiber link of 20 km with split ratio of 16 is carried out. Case B targets the transmission of two channels with channel spacing of 0.1 nm to realize OFDM-DWDM-OSSB-EPON system and achieves a fiber link of 20 km with split ratio of 32. 相似文献

A MAC(Media Access Control) Protocol of PON is based on TDMA(Time Division Multiple Access) basically, we can classify this protocol into a fixed length slot assignment method suitable for leased line supporting Qos(Quality of Service) and a variable length slot assignment method suitable for LAN/MAN with the best efforts. In our Letter, we selected several commercial optical transceivers, which consist of single-channel transceiver modules, parallel transmitting and receiving modules, and Ethernet passive optical network(EPON) optical line terminal(OLT) and optical network unit(ONU) modules, to do the total ionizing dose(TID) testing via the gamma-ray radiation method. The changing of current and receiver sensitivity of optical transceivers is discussed and analyzed. Based on the TID testing exposed to a TID of 50 krad(Si) at a dose rate of about 0.1 rad(Si)/s,the performance of single-channel transceivers and parallel receiving modules has not changed after 50 krad(Si)exposure, the parallel transmitting and EPON ONU modules have not worked after 40 krad(Si) and 47 krad(Si)exposure, the EPON OLT module has bit error in the process of irradiation, and it can work well after annealing;the reason for the error of OLT is analyzed. Finally, based on the theoretical analysis and testing results, this Letter provides several design suggestions to improve the reliability for optical transceivers, which can be referenced by satellite system designation for various space missions. 相似文献

A system is presented which uses optical SSB transmission on WDM RoF–EPON link to compensate dispersion and FWM with DCF and FBG. Performance of the system is improved by 8.91% with the use of DCF and FBG for equal spacing between the channels and it is further increased by 9.51% by keeping unequal spacing between the channels. Results are compared for equal and unequal spacing with and without DCF and FBG. BER, Q factor and eye diagrams have been analyzed for evaluating the performance of the system. 相似文献
