We study the influence of screening effect on quantum decoherence for charge qubit and the process of quantum information storage. When the flux produced by the circulating current in SQUID loop is considered, screening effect is formally characterized by a LC resonator. Using large-detuning condition and Fröhlich transformation in the qubit-cavity-resonator system, we calculate the decoherence factor for charge qubit and the effective qubit-cavity Hamiltonian. The decoherence factor owns a factorized structure, it shows that screening effect is a resource of decoherence for charge qubit. The effective Hamiltonian shows that the screening effect results in a frequency shift for charge qubit and a modified qubit-cavity coupling constant induced by a LC resonator.  相似文献

We study decoherence in a simple quantum mechanical model using two approaches. Firstly, we follow the conventional approach to decoherence where one is interested in solving the reduced density matrix from the perturbative master equation. Secondly, we consider our novel correlator approach to decoherence where entropy is generated by neglecting observationally inaccessible correlators. We show that both methods can accurately predict decoherence time scales. However, the perturbative master equation generically suffers from instabilities which prevents us to reliably calculate the system’s total entropy increase. We also discuss the relevance of the results in our quantum mechanical model for interacting field theories.  相似文献

In this paper, we study single-qubit and single-user quantum repeaters based on CNOT gates under decoherence using the Kraus-operator representations of decoherence. We investigate the influence of decoherence on the information-disturbance trade-off of quantum repeaters. It is found that decoherence may lead to the appearance of three subspaces, called as the normal subspace, the anomalous subspace, and the decoherence-free subspace (DFS), respectively. It is indicated that in the normal subspace decoherence decreases the transmission and estimation fidelities, in the anomalous subspace decoherence enhances these fidelities, and in the DFS these fidelities do not change. The concept of the quality factor is introduced to evaluate the quality of the quantum repeater. It is indicated that the quality factor can be efficiently controlled and manipulated by changing the initial state of the probe qubit. It is found that under certain conditions the quantum repeater can be optimal even in the presence of decoherence.   相似文献

The decoherence rate and some parameters affecting it are investigated for the generalized spin-boson model. We consider the spin-bosonic model when the bosonic environment is modeled by the deformed harmonic oscillators. We show that the state of the environment approaches a non-linear coherent state. Then, we obtain the decoherence rate of a two-level system which is in contact with a deformed bosonic environment which is either in thermal equilibrium or in the ground state. By using some recent realization of ff-deformed oscillators, we show that some physical parameters strongly affect the decoherence rate of a two-level system.  相似文献

We investigate the relation between integrability and decoherence in central spin models with more than one central spin. We show that there is a transition between integrability ensured by the Bethe ansatz and integrability ensured by complete sets of commuting operators. This has a significant impact on the decoherence properties of the system, suggesting that it is not necessarily integrability or nonintegrability which is related to decoherence, but rather its type or a change from integrability to nonintegrability.  相似文献

The Born-Markov master equation analysis of the vibrating mirror and photon experiment proposed by Marshall, Simon, Penrose, and Bouwmeester is completed by including the important issues of temperature and friction. We find that at the level of cooling available to date, visibility revivals are purely classical, and no quantum effect can be detected by the setup, no matter how strong the photon-mirror coupling is. Checking proposals of universal nonenvironmental decoherence is ruled out by dominating thermal decoherence; a conjectured coordinate-diffusion contribution to decoherence may become observable on reaching moderately low temperatures.  相似文献

Electron transport through disordered quasi one-dimensional quantum systems is studied. Decoherence is taken into account by a spatial distribution of virtual reservoirs, which represent local interactions of the conduction electrons with their environment. We show that the decoherence distribution has observable effects on the transport. If the decoherence reservoirs are distributed randomly without spatial correlations, a minimal degree of decoherence is necessary to obtain Ohmic conduction. Below this threshold the system is localized and thus, a decoherence driven metal-insulator transition is found. In contrast, for homogenously distributed decoherence, any finite degree of decoherence is sufficient to destroy localization. Thus, the presence or absence of localization in a disordered one-dimensional system may give important insight about how the electron phase is randomized.  相似文献

We consider a cavity optomechanical cooling configuration consisting of a mechanical resonator (denoted as resonator b) and an electromagnetic resonator (denoted as resonator a), which are coupled in such a way that the effective resonance frequency of resonator a depends linearly on the displacement of resonator b. We study whether back-reaction effects in such a configuration can be efficiently employed for suppression of decoherence. To that end, we consider the case where the mechanical resonator is prepared in a superposition of two coherent states and evaluate the rate of decoherence. We find that no significant suppression of decoherence is achievable when resonator a is assumed to have a linear response. On the other hand, when resonator a exhibits Kerr nonlinearity and/or nonlinear damping the decoherence rate can be made much smaller than the equilibrium value provided that the parameters that characterize these nonlinearities can be tuned close to some specified optimum values.  相似文献

We show that trapped ions can be used to simulate a highly symmetrical Hamiltonian with eigenstates naturally protected against local sources of decoherence. This Hamiltonian involves long-range coupling between particles and provides a more efficient protection than nearest neighbor models discussed in previous works. Our results open the perspective of experimentally realizing, in controlled atomic systems, complex entangled states with decoherence times up to 9 orders of magnitude longer than isolated quantum systems.  相似文献

We study how phase decoherence through intrinsic decoherence leads to growing entropy and a strong degradation of the maximum generated entanglement as a measure of information content of ionic state due to ion-laser interaction with a trapped ion. We calculate the partial entropy of the particle (atom or trapped ion) and field subsystems as well as the total entropy. The total entropy is shown to increase with time. Thus, the partial field or atomic entropy cannot be used as a direct measure of the particle–field entanglement. We find that, at least qualitatively, the difference between the total entropy and the sum of field and atom partial entropies can be used as an entanglement measure, when compared with an established entanglement measure based on the negativity of the eigenvalues of the partially transposed density matrix. We find a very strong sensitivity of the maximum generated entanglement on the decoherence and the chosen intrinsic decoherence parameter.  相似文献

We study the decoherence of a spin-1/2 induced by an environment which is on the verge of a continuous phase transition. We consider spin environments described by the ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic Heisenberg models on a square lattice. As is well known, these two-dimensional systems undergo a continuous phase transition at zero temperature, where the spins order spontaneously. For weak coupling of the central spin to these baths, we find that as one approaches the transition temperature, critical fluctuations make the central spin decohere faster. Furthermore, the decoherence is maximal at zero temperature as signaled by the divergence of the Markovian decoherence rate.  相似文献

We investigate the short-time decoherence of a solid-state qubit under Ohmic noise at optimal operation points. The decoherence is analyzed by maximum norm of the deviation density operator. It is shown that at the temperature T = 3 mK, the loss of the fidelity due to decoherence is much smaller than the DiVincenzo low decoherence criterion, which means that the mode/may be an optimal candidate of qubit for quantum computation.  相似文献

We formulate a novel approach to decoherence based on neglecting observationally inaccessible correlators. We apply our formalism to a renormalised interacting quantum field theoretical model. Using out-of-equilibrium field theory techniques we show that the Gaussian von Neumann entropy for a pure quantum state increases to the interacting thermal entropy. This quantifies decoherence and thus measures how classical our pure state has become. The decoherence rate is equal to the single particle decay rate in our model. We also compare our approach to existing approaches to decoherence in a simple quantum mechanical model. We show that the entropy following from the perturbative master equation suffers from physically unacceptable secular growth.  相似文献

General history quantum theories are quantum theories without a globally defined notion of time. Decoherence functionals represent the states in the history approach and are defined as certain bivariate complex-valued functionals on the space of all histories. However, in practical situations – for instance in the history formulation of standard quantum mechanics – there often is a global time direction and the homogeneous decoherence functionals are specified by their values on the subspace of homogeneous histories. In this work we study the analytic properties of (i) the standard decoherence functional in the history version of standard quantum mechanics and (ii) homogeneous decoherence functionals in general history theories. We restrict ourselves to the situation where the space of histories is given by the lattice of projections on some Hilbert space ℋ. Among other things we prove the non-existence of a finitely valued extension for the standard decoherence functional to the space of all histories, derive a representation for the standard decoherence functional as an unbounded quadratic form with a natural representation on a Hilbert space and prove the existence of an Isham–Linden–Schreckenberg (ILS) type representation for the standard decoherence functional. We investigate the dynamics and protection of quantum entanglement of a qutrit-qutrit system under local amplitude damping channels with finite temperature. We consider two different initial states. We find that the qutrit-qutrit entanglement decays monotonically as the decoherence strength increases, and may go through entanglement sudden death at higher temperature. Special attention is paid to how to protect the quantum entanglement from decoherence by weak measurement and quantum measurement reversal. Our results show that the entanglement increases with the increase of weak measurement strength when the temperature is lower. However, the protections of entanglement by weak measurement and quantum measurement reversal are almost failed and the decays of entanglement goes up with the increase of weak measurement strength for different decoherence strength when the temperature is higher, even entanglement suffers sudden death.

We study the decoherence rate for estimating the time at which the coherence instability of a quantum pure state is onset. We analyze the coherence stability of pure states of a three-level quantum system under the effect of a bosonic reservoir and driven by two Raman classical fields. By assuming the boson systems to be in thermal states we find for a symmetric V-system a set of three states free from decoherence and, for a symmetric cascade-system, a two-dimensional subspace whose states are stable against the considered decoherence mechanism.  相似文献

The topological expression of the reduced quantum trajectory is given by using ø-mapping topological current theory. The topological expression is used in study of the coherence and the decoherence. We find the expression of vorticity for decoherence has a similar form as that for coherence. Atopological reason leading to the decoherence is given and a new parameter is defined to indicate the coherence degree. The parameter is different from the damping factor because it relates to the topological structure of the reduced quantum trajectory.  相似文献

We study the effect of decoherence on quantum Monty Hall problem under theinfluence of amplitude damping, depolarizing, and dephasing channels. It isshown that under the effect of decoherence, there is a Nash equilibrium ofthe game in case of depolarizing channel for Alice's quantum strategy.Whereas in case of dephasing noise, the game is not influenced by thequantum channel. For amplitude damping channel, Bob's payoffs are foundsymmetrical about a decoherence of 50% and the maximum occurs at this value of decoherence for his classical strategy. However, it is worth-mentioning that in case of depolarizing channel, Bob's classical strategy remains always dominant against any choice of Alice's strategy.  相似文献
