The investigation of structural perfection and laser properties of a new class of mixed vanadates Y x Sc1 ? x VO4:Nd3+ was carried out in this work. The research of the structural perfection of the crystals was carried out by applying the X-ray diffractometer. It was shown that the Y x Sc1 ? x VO4:Nd3+ crystals have a good structural perfection. The lasing experiment shows that the maximal CW output power of 2 W was achieved upon 5.8 W pumping. The maximal slope efficiency of 41.5% was obtained along the [100] crystallographic direction for the ??-polarization. 相似文献

An electro-optic Q-switched Nd:YAG ceramic laser operating at kHz repetition rate was demonstrated. Thermal induced lens' focus of ceramic rod was measured and compensated by plano-convex cavity structure. Depolarization loss at different output powers was measured in Nd:YAG single crystal and ceramic lasers. High-energy high-beam-quality laser pulse output was obtained in both laser structures. Pulse energy of about 20 mJ and pulse width of less than 12 ns were achieved, and the average power reached 20 W. The divergence of output laser beam was less than 1.2 mrad, and the beam propagation factor M2 was about 1.4. 相似文献

Electron paramagnetic resonance of Ca1 ? x ? y Y x Gd y F2 + x + y single crystals has revealed spectra that are not typical of gadolinium-doped CaF2 crystals. These spectra have a nearly tetragonal symmetry and are most probably caused by Gd3+ ions localized in yttrium clusters. Weak spectra of tetragonal Gd3+ centers, whose parameters are close to those of a cubic gadolinium center caused by an isolated Gd3+ ion, have been also detected. These centers are attributed to isolated Gd3+ ions localized near octahedral rare-earth clusters or their associations. 相似文献

The Raman spectra of mixed crystals of [(NH4)1?x K x ]2 SO4 in the region 50–3400 cm?1 at 293 K and below 223 K have been reported. At room temperature 293 K, as the concentration of K+ ion increases in the crystal up to 50%, the frequencies of the totally symmetric vibrations of SO 4 2? and NH 4 + ions increase and thereafter the frequency of SO 4 2? vibration decreases and attains the value in K2SO4. This change in frequency up to 50% of potassium concentration is due to the breaking of hydrogen bonds of the type N-H...O. The behaviour of Raman intensities of A g (v 1) mode of SO 4 2? for various concentrations (x=0, 0·03, 0·11, 0·5, 0·85) suggest that the phase transition changes from first order type to one of second order. The phase transition in mixed crystals of [(NH4)1?x K x ]2 SO4 can be a cooperative phenomenon arising from a coupling between (NH4)+ ions through hydrogen bonds with the distorted SO 4 2? ions in the low temperature phase. 相似文献

A study of Gd3+ centers in Ca1?x R x F2+x (R=La, Y) crystals using pulsed EPR spectroscopy is presented. The echo-induced EPR (ESE-EPR) spectrum shows, besides the signal of slightly perturbed cubic Gd3+ centers, a broad signal at g≈2 due to Gd3+ centers at low symmetry sites. To describe the effects of R3+ ions on the EPR Gd3+, a model, including cubic and linear R3+?2F i ? centers, is developed. Its predictions are compared with the experimental results. The composition dependence of the EPR signal due to slightly perturbed cubic Gd3+ centers in mixed Ca1?x R x F2+x crystals is explained taking into account the different clustering tendency in La and Y crystals. Moreover, the formation of mixed clusters involving R3+ and Gd3+ ions is proposed for both series of samples. A greater clustering trend is found in the Y crystals than in the La ones. Gd3+ ions are found to be a “non innocent” paramagnetic probe for structural studies in these mixed crystals. 相似文献

We demonstrated a diode-pumped passively Q-switched mode-locked Nd:YVO4 laser by using a relaxed saturable Bragg reflector (SBR). Stable mode-locked pulse train with the repetition rate of -230 MHz was achieved and the pulse train was modulated by the Q-switched envelope with the repetition rate of -150 kHz. The maximum output of 4 W was obtained under the pump power of 13.5 W. The optical-to-optical efficiency was 30%. We also discussed the transition of each process having emerged. 相似文献

We reporte a passively Q-switched and mode-locked Nd:Y0.5Gd0.5VO4 laser at 1.34 μm with Co2+:LaMgAl11O19(Co:LMA) crystal as the saturable absorber. With the incident pump power of 6.56 W, a maximum output power of 242 mW was obtained. Q-switched mode-locking pulses with modulation depth nearly 100% were obtained. The width of the mode-locked pulse was estimated to be less than 600 ps. 相似文献

We have demonstrated passively Q-switched mode-locking in a laser-diode-pumped Nd:GdVO4 laser with an intracavity Cr4+:YAG saturable absorber. At a pump power of 19.4 W, the Q-switched mode-locked laser produced an average output power of 3.22 W, and the repetition rates of the Q-switched envelope and the mode-locked laser pulse were 227 kHz and 144 MHz, respectively. Ferrimagnetic order in the mixed rare-earth iron garnet (Y1??? x Gd x )3Fe5O12 system has been reinvestigated to cover the temperature range 5.0 to 700?K. The magnetization versus temperature exhibits a systematic variation with changing concentration x. The ferric-ion exchange coupling is strong enough to determine the Curie temperature ≈559?K for all the values x. The compensation temperature at which the magnetization crosses zero (shows the minimum) demonstrates the applicability of the three-sublattice model. The magnetic moment at 5.0?K indicates reasonable agreement with the relation n B?=?|21x???5.0|μB for the (Y1??? x Gd x )3Fe5O12 system. The compensation temperature decreases with decreasing x from 1.0 and reaches zero near x?=?0.24. An enlargement of coercive force in the hysteresis loop for the low-field M-H curve is clearly seen in near the compensation temperature, indicating that a single domain is formed and the rotation of this single domain occurs without building up a multidomain structure. 相似文献

A new technique for seed-injection locking of single-axial-mode (SAM) Q-switched Nd:YAG laser is re- ported.The technique called energy reduction (ER) is utilized when SAM operation is locked to design its feedback scheme.This method ensures long-term 100% seed-injection locking performance and the pulsed SAM output energy can reach as high as 200 mJ.Both temporal and spatial interferometric experiments have been executed to confirm the SAM oscillation. 相似文献

The fluorescence spectrum and thermal properties of the mixed crystal Nd:Luo.gvLa~.o1VO4 are determined. The strongest emission peak located at 1065.6 nm had a full width at half maximum (FWHM) of 2.1 nm. Continuous-wave (CW) laser performance is demonstrated by a compact planar planar cavity that is end- pumped by a diode laser. The laser output characteristics are investigated by using output couplers with different transmissions. A maximum CW output power of 8.09 W was obtained at an incident pump power of 19.4 W, which corresponds to an optical-to-optical conversion efficiency of 41.7% and a slope efficiency of 54.6%. The dependence of optimum transmission on pump power is calculated theoretically and is found to be consistent with experimental results. 相似文献

The thermal conductivity of single crystals of the solid solution of yttrium fluoride in calcium fluoride Ca1 ? x Y x F2 + x with the fluorite structure (x ≤ 0.20) and the Ca0.27Y0.73F2.73 phase with the tisonite structure has been studied by the absolute steady-state longitudinal heat flow method in the temperature range 50–300 K. (BO3)3:Eu have been investigated. The steady-state X-ray luminescence (XRL) spectra, the temperature dependences of the XRL intensity,
and the thermally stimulated luminescence (TSL) spectra have been measured for the Li6Gd(BO3)3, Li6Eu(BO3)3, Li6Y0.5Gd0.5(BO3)3:Eu, and Li6Gd(BO3)3:Eu compounds in the temperature range of 90–500 K. It is established that the band at 312 nm, which is due to the 6
P
J
→ 8
S
7/2 transitions in Gd3+ ions and the group of lines at 580–700 nm, which are due to the 5
D
0 → 7
F
J
(J = 0 … 4) transitions in Eu3+ ions dominate in the XRL spectra. The XRL intensity in these bands increases several times with a change in temperature from
100 to 400 K for undoped crystals. The likely mechanisms of the observed temperature dependence of the XRL intensity and their
relationship with the features of electronic-excitation energy transfer in these crystals are discussed. The spectra of all
crystals under study exhibit a dominant composite TSL peak with a maximum at 110–160 K and a series of weaker peaks, the composition
and structure of which depend on the crystal type. The nature of the shallow traps, which are responsible for the TSL at temperatures

Two types of Gd3+ impurity centers are identified in heavily doped narrow-gap PbTe semiconductor by means of EPR at a frequency of 9.3 GHz and temperature T = 4.2 K. Magnetic properties of both centers have cubic symmetry, but their EPR spectra are characterized with different fine structure constants. Two-dimensional (2D) weak localization effects at low temperatures T=0.2–4.2 K are investigated in a nonsuperconducting sample Nd1.88Ce0.12CuO4−δ and in the normal state of a superconducting sample Nd1.82Ce0.18CuO4−δ for B>B
c2≃3 T. The phase coherence time τφ (≃5×10−11 s at 1.9 K) and the effective thickness d of a conducting CuO2 layer (≃1.5 Å) are estimated by fitting the expressions from the 2D weak localization theory to the magnetoresistivity data
for the normal-to-plane and in-plane magnetic fields. The estimated value of the parameter d ensures the condition of strong carrier confinement and justifies a model of almost decoupled 2D metallic sheets for the
Nd2−x
CexCuO4−δ single crystals.

The luminescence and recombination processes in crystals of lithium borates Li6Gd x Y1 ? x (BO3)3:Eu (LGYBO:Eu) have been studied. The photoluminescence (PL) spectra upon selective photoexcitation to lower excited states of Gd3+ and Eu3+ ions and the temperature dependences of the photoluminescence intensity at different energies of excitation photons have been measured in a wide temperature range: 10?C500 K. We observed a photoluminescence band at 3.97 eV, which is due to the 6 P J ?? 8 S 7/2 transitions in Gd3+ ions, and a characteristic line spectrum in the range of 1.6?C2.2 eV, which is related to the radiative f-f transitions in impurity Eu3+ ions, occurring mainly from the lower excited 5 D 0 level to the 7 F J states (J = 0, 1, ??, 6). The influence of the O-Eu charge transfer states and the vibrational relaxation between the 6 I J and 6 P J levels of the Gd3+ ion on the temperature dependences of the intrinsic and impurity luminescence intensities is discussed. 相似文献

We demonstrated the highly efficient continuous wave(CW)and Q-switched infrared laser from a diode- side-pumped Nd:YAG crystal.A CW output as high as 66 W at 1319 nm was achieved under the pump power of 460 W,corresponding to a coversion efficiency of 14.3%.A maximum average power of 8.9 W of TEM_(00) mode was obtained in Q-switched operation at the repetition rate of 8 kHz.The performance of the laser considering the thermal lens effect induced by pump power was also analyzed. 相似文献

A gray-trace resistance KTP (GTR-KTP) second Stokes Raman laser intracavity driven by a diode-pumped acousto-optic Q-switched Nd:YVO4 laser was first demonstrated in this paper. With an incident pump power of 9.5 W, the intracavity GTR-KTP Raman laser, operating at the repetition rate of 20 kHz, produced the maximum average output power of 860 mW at 1129 nm. The minimum pulse width obtained in this GTR-KTP Raman laser was 10.8 ns. When the GTR-KTP was substituted with a common KTP, a lower average output power of 720 mW and longer pulse width of 15.9 ns were obtained in the common KTP Raman laser under the same pump condition and cavity setup as the GTR-KTP Raman laser. Experimental results indicated that the decreased absorption at the fundamental and Stokes wave in GTR-KTP was beneficial to improve the stimulated Raman scattering performance. 相似文献

For Nd:LaxY1−xVO4 (x = 0.11) crystal, the 4F3/2 → 4I13/2 transition property was investigated for the first time. The fluorescence peak of Nd:La0.11Y0.89VO4 crystal exhibited obvious inhomogeneous broadening comparing with that of Nd:YVO4 crystal. With laser diode array as pump source, 1.34 μm continuous-wave (CW) and active Q-switched laser operations based on 4F3/2 → 4I13/2 transition were realized. For CW laser operation, the maximum output power of 2.47, 2.13 W is obtained with slope efficiencies of 29.4%, 27.6%, and optical to optical conversion efficiency of 26.2%, 24.7%, respectively for a, c cut crystal samples. For acousto-optic (AO) Q-switched laser operation, the shortest pulse width, highest peak power and maximum pulse energy came from the a-cut sample, which were 13 ns, 2.69 kW and 35 μJ, respectively. 相似文献
