Formulation and numerical evaluation of a novel twice-interpolation finite element method (TFEM) is presented for solid mechanics problems. In this method, the trial function for Galerkin weak form is constructed through two stages of consecutive interpolation. The primary interpolation follows exactly the same procedure of standard FEM and is further reproduced according to both nodal values and averaged nodal gradients obtained from primary interpolation. The trial functions thus constructed have continuous nodal gradients and contain higher order polynomial without increasing total freedoms. Several benchmark examples and a real dam problem are used to examine the TFEM in terms of accuracy and convergence. Compared with standard FEM, TFEM can achieve significantly better accuracy and higher convergence rate, and the continuous nodal stress can be obtained without any smoothing operation. It is also found that TFEM is insensitive to the quality of the elemental mesh. In addition, the present TFEM can treat the incompressible material without any modification.  相似文献

The stochastic finite element method (SFEM) based on the local, averages of random fields, which was proposed in [5], is now generalized to analyze the structures with several correlated random parameters. The covariance matrix of the local averages of a random vector field is derived. The SFEM based on the local averages of random vector fields is formulated. The numerical examples show that the generalized SFEM preserves the advantages of the original one, i. e., rapid convergence, good accuracy and insensitivity to the correlation structures of random parameters.Project supported by National Natural Science Foundation of China.  相似文献

A finite element method for computing viscous incompressible flows based on the gauge formulation introduced in [Weinan E, Liu J‐G. Gauge method for viscous incompressible flows. Journal of Computational Physics (submitted)] is presented. This formulation replaces the pressure by a gauge variable. This new gauge variable is a numerical tool and differs from the standard gauge variable that arises from decomposing a compressible velocity field. It has the advantage that an additional boundary condition can be assigned to the gauge variable, thus eliminating the issue of a pressure boundary condition associated with the original primitive variable formulation. The computational task is then reduced to solving standard heat and Poisson equations, which are approximated by straightforward, piecewise linear (or higher‐order) finite elements. This method can achieve high‐order accuracy at a cost comparable with that of solving standard heat and Poisson equations. It is naturally adapted to complex geometry and it is much simpler than traditional finite element methods for incompressible flows. 对基于Biot理论的饱和多孔介质中动力-渗流耦合分析提出了一个耦合场混合元.固相位移、应变和有效应力以及流相压力、压力梯度和Darcy速度在单元内均处理为独立变量分别插值.基于胡海昌-Washizu三变量广义变分原理给出的饱和多孔介质动力-渗流耦合问题控制方程的单元弱形式,导出了单元公式.进一步导出了考虑压力相关非关联塑性的非线性单元公式和发展了相应的一致性算法.对几何非线性分析,采用了共旋公式途径.数值结果例题显示所发展耦合场混合元模拟大应变下由应变软化引起以应变局部化为特征的渐进破坏现象的性能.  相似文献

结构静力分析中常因材料应变软化使得相应定解问题失去适定性,从而导致有限元分析不收敛。为解决此问题,在已有的相关研究基础上,采用动力松弛法(DRM)求解结构非线性有限元静力分析的增量步,将其应用于损伤型本构所描述的结构软化问题。本文方法依据两个原理,其一是苏联《数学百科全书》论述的原理——定义于时间域的任何定解问题适定可解,其二是DRM所用的原理——质量系统静力解为相应动力解的稳态部分。且DRM无需进行隐式静力分析时的总体刚度矩阵组装和求逆计算。本文用加荷载增量求解静力平衡路径硬化段,用加位移增量求解极值点和软化段。数值试验表明,本文方法能完成应变软化类结构的静力平衡路径求解。  相似文献

This paper discussed the concepts underlying a new approach to representation and analysis of homogeneous random Fields. An orthogonalized isoparametric local average model of random fields is proposed, and the optimum selection of random variables is determined based on the theory of nonlinear programming. The finite element method is used to develop a methodology for random field analysis. Numerical examples showing the accuracy and efficiency of the method are studied.  相似文献

The Lagrangian method has become increasingly popular in numerical simulation of free surface problems. In this paper, after a brief review of a recent Lagrangian method, namely the particle finite element method, some issues are discussed and some improvements are made. The least‐square finite element method is adopted to simplify the solving of the Navier–Stokes equations. An adaptive time method is derived to obtain suitable time steps. A mass correction procedure is imported to improve the mass conservation in long time calculations and time discretization scheme is adopted to decrease the pressure oscillations during the calculations. A finite element method for highly viscous fluid is used to calculate the velocity and stress fields in the surrounding soft rock of a tunnel. In order to fit the calculated values with the measured displacement of tunnel wall, we inverted the boundary forces and the mechanical parameters of the surrounding rocks.  相似文献

The nonlinear partial differential equation model of Gibson et al. which governs one-dimensional large-strain consolidation is solved numerically using a semi-discrete formulation involving a Galerkin weighted residual approach. The use of quadratic Lagrange basis functions usually complicates the task of solving the system of time-dependent ordinary differential equations that are obtained with the semi-discrete Galerkin procedure. However, an efficient algorithm has been discovered yielding the advantages of quadratic interpolation without undue computational burden.Although considerable effort has already been made to solve the PDE of large-strain consolidation by numerical methods, a satisfactory set of benchmarks is still needed to assess accuracy. To fill this need, three procedures are reported which allow numerical solutions of the large-strain model to be reliably evaluated. One involves the use of perturbation methodology to provide a solution when only self-weight effects are present. A second utilizes an analytical solution developed by Philip when self-weight effects are absent and the third involves the exact calculation of the discharge flux through the upper boundary of a deposit consolidating through self-weight effects alone. All three are restricted to early-time consolidation and are illustrated in the context of the finite element method.  相似文献

提出了一种具有比例边界有限元的半解析特性和等几何分析的几何特性的新方法。该新方法是在比例边界有限元框架中用NURBS曲线或曲面精确描述域边界几何形状,同时域边界位移场采用描述几何形状的NURBS形函数等参构造。这种新方法具有比例边界有限元固有的径向解析特性和NURBS的高阶连续性的优点。数值算例显示,与传统的比例边界有限元相比,基于等几何分析的比例边界有限元方法提高了域边界单元和域内应力场的连续性,减少了计算自由度。应用此方法可以用较少的计算自由度获得更高连续阶和更高精度的位移、应力和应变场。  相似文献

A mixed time discontinuous space-time finite element scheme for secondorder convection diffusion problems is constructed and analyzed. Order of the equation is lowered by the mixed finite element method. The low order equation is discretized with a space-time finite element method, continuous in space but discontinuous in time. Stability, existence, uniqueness and convergence of the approximate solutions are proved. Numerical results are presented to illustrate efficiency of the proposed method.  相似文献
