The [Co(HOr)(H2O)2(im)2] (1), [Ni(HOr)(H2O)2(im)2] (2), [Zn(H2O)2(im)4](H2Or)2 (3) and [Cd(HOr)(H2O)(im)3] (4) complexes (H3Or: orotic acid, im: imidazole) were synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, magnetic and conductance measurements, UV-vis and IR spectra. The thermal behaviour of the complexes was also studied by simultaneous thermal analysis techniques (TG, DTG and DTA). The orotate ligand (HOr2−) coordinated to the Co(II), Ni(II) and Cd(II) ions are chelated to the deprotonated pyrimidine nitrogen (N(3)) and the carboxylate oxygen, while do not coordinate to the Zn(II) ion is present as a counter-ion (H2Or). The first thermal decomposition process of all the complexes is endothermic deaquation. This stage is followed by partially (or completely) decomposition of the imidazole and orotate ligands. In the later stage, the remained organic residue exothermically burns. On the basis of the first DTGmax, the thermal stability of the complexes follows order: 2, 176°C>1, 162°C>4, 155°C>3, 117°C in static air atmosphere. The final decomposition products which identified by IR spectroscopy were the corresponding metal oxides.  相似文献

The 1,10-phenanthroline (phen) complexes of Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II) and Cd(II) orotates were synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, magnetic susceptibility, spectral methods (UV-vis and FTIR) and thermal analysis techniques (TG, DTG and DTA). The Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II) and Cd(II) ions in diaquabis(1,10-phenanthroline)metal(II) diorotate octahedral complexes [M(H2O)2(phen)2](H2Or)2·nH2O (M=Co(II), n=2.25; Ni(II), n=3; Cu(II) and Cd(II), n=2) are coordinated by two aqua ligands and two moles of phen molecules as chelating ligands through their two nitrogen atoms. The monoanionic orotate behaves as a counter ion in the complexes. On the basis of the first DTGmax, the thermal stability of the hydrated complexes follows the order: Cd(II), 68°C 68°C  相似文献

The thermal properties of the Cu(II), Ni(II) and Co(II) complexes of iminodiacetic acid (H2IMDA) were determined using TG, DTG and DSC techniques. The complexes, of general formula, MIMDA-2H2O evolved water of hydration from 50 to 150°C which was followed by the decomposition of the anhydrous complex in the 250 to 400°C temperature range. The thermal stability, as determined by procedural decomposition temperatures, was: Ni(II) >Co(II) >Cu(II). The thermal stability is discussed in terms of IR spectra, ΔH, and ΔS, as well as thermal data.  相似文献

The thermal properties of the Ni(II), Co(II) and Cu(II) complexes of glycine were determined using TG, DTG and DSC techniques. The complexes, MGly2·nH2O (n = 1, 2), dehydrated in the temperature range of 75 to 200°C, followed by the decomposition of the anhydrous compounds in the temperature range of 200 to 400°C. The thermal stability of the complexes, as determined by procedural decomposition temperatures, was: Ni(II) >Co(II) >Cu(II).  相似文献

The cobalt, nickel, copper and zinc atoms in bis(1,10-phenanthroline)bis(salicylato-O)metal(II) monomeric octahedral complexes [M(Hsal)2(phen)2nH2O, (M: Co(II), n=1; Cu(II), n=1.5 and Ni(II), Zn(II), n=2) are coordinated by the salicylato monoanion (Hsal) through the carboxyl oxygen in a monodentate fashion and by the 1,10-phenanthroline (phen) molecule through the two amine nitrogen atoms in a bidentate chelating manner. On the basis of the DTGmax, the thermal stability of the hydrated complexes follows order: Ni(II) (149°C)>Co(II) (134°C)>Zn(II) (132°C)>Cu(II) (68°C) in static air atmosphere. In the second stage, the pyrolysis of the anhydrous complexes takes place. The third stage of decomposition is associated with a strong exothermic oxidation process (DTA curves: 410, 453, 500 and 450°C for the Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II) complexes, respectively). The final decomposition products, namely CoO, NiO, CuO and ZnO, were identified by IR spectroscopy. This revised version was published online in July 2006 with corrections to the Cover Date.  相似文献

The triethanolamine complexes, [M(tea)2]sq·nH2O, (n=2 for Co(II), n=0 for Ni(II), Cu(II) and n=1 for Cd(II), tea=triethanolamine, sq2−=squarate), have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analyses, magnetic susceptibility and conductivity measurements, UV-Vis and IR spectra, and thermal analyses techniques (TG, DTG and DTA). The Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II) complexes possess octahedral geometry, while the Cd(II) complex is monocapped trigonal prismatic geometry. Dianionic squarate behaves as a counter ion in the complexes. The thermal decomposition of these complexes takes place in three stages: (i) dehydration, (ii) release of the tea ligands and (iii) burning of organic residue. On the basis of the first DTGmax of the decomposition, the thermal stability of the anhydrous complexes follows the order: Ni(II), 289°C>Co(II), 230°C>Cu(II), 226°C>Cu(II), 170°C in static air atmosphere. The final decomposition products — the respective metal oxides — were identified by FTIR spectroscopy.  相似文献

Two lactates and four new mixed ligand complexes with formulae Co(lact)2·2H2O, Ni(lact)2·3H2O, Co(4-bpy)(lact)2, Co(2,4'-bpy)2(lact)2, Ni(4-bpy)(lact)2·2H2O and Ni(2,4'-bpy)2(lact)2 (where 4-bpy=4,4'-bipyridine, 2,4'-bpy=2,4'-bipyridine, lact=CH3CH(OH)COO-) were isolated and investigated. The thermal behaviour of compounds was studied by thermal analysis (TG, DTG, DTA). In the case of hydrated complexes thermal decomposition starts with the release of water molecules. The compounds decompose at high temperature to metal(II) oxides in air. A coupled TG-MS system was used to analyse the principal volatile products of thermolysis and fragmentation processes of obtained complexes. This revised version was published online in July 2006 with corrections to the Cover Date.  相似文献

A series of polymeric cobalt(II), nickel(II), zinc(II) and cadmium(II) azido complexes with hydrazine of the type [M(N2H4)(H2O)(N3)Cl]n, [M(N2H4)(N3)2]n and [M(N2H4)2(N3)2]n have been prepared. These were characterized by elemental analyses, magnetic susceptibility measurements, electronic and IR spectra. The complexes are highly insoluble in polar and non polar solvents. All the complexes decompose with explosion at different temperatures between 100°C to 200°C. The magnetic moment and electronic spectral data for Co(II) and Ni(II) complexes suggest that the complexes have octahedral structure. The ligand-field parameters (10 Dq, B, β, β° and LFSE) have also been calculated for all Co(II) and Ni(II) complexes which indicate a significant covalent character of M-L bonds. The IR spectra of the complexes show that the azide group and hydrazine molecule both act as bidentate bridging ligands in [M(N2H4)(H2O)(N3)Cl]n and [M(N2H4)(N3)2]n type complexes but the azide group is terminally bonded to metal in all [M(N2H4)2(N3)2]n type complexes.  相似文献

Three Co(II), Ni(II) and Zn(II) complexes of orotate with the N-methylimidazole ligand were synthesized and characterized by means of elemental and thermal analysis, magnetic susceptibilities, IR, UV-Vis spectroscopic and antimicrobial activity studies. The crystal structures of [Co(HOr)(H2O)2(Nmeim)2]3·H2O (1), [Ni(HOr)(H2O)2(Nmeim)2] (2) and [Zn(HOr)(H2O)(Nmeim)2] (3) were determined by the single crystal X-ray diffraction technique (H3Or = orotic acid and Nmeim = N-methylimidazole). In complexes 1 and 2, the Co(II) and Ni(II) ions have distorted octahedral geometries with two Nmeim, one orotate and two aqua ligands. Complex 3 has a distorted trigonal bipyramidal geometry with two N-methylimidazole, one orotate and one aqua ligands. In the complexes, the orotate is coordinated to the metal(II) ions through the deprotonated nitrogen atom of the pyrimidine ring and the oxygen atom of the carboxylate group as a bidentate ligand. The complexes form a three-dimensional framework by hydrogen bonding, C-H?π and π?π stacking interactions. The MIC values of the complexes against selected microorganisms were determined to be in range 300-2400 μg/mL.  相似文献

The complexes [M(HIm)4(H2O)2](sac)2 (M=Co, Ni) and [Cd(HIm)2(sac)2]2 with saccharin (sac) and imidazole (HIm) were synthesized and their thermal (TG, DTG and DTA) behaviour in the interval from room temperature up to 1000°C in a static air atmosphere was investigated. Irrespectively of whether the deprotonated saccharinato residues are present as ligands or ions or both as ligands and ions, the anhydrous complexes regularly decompose in two stages. The thermal data of 16 saccharinato complexes (including the title compounds) were correlated with the respective structural data. The general thermal stability order of the saccharinato complexes can be represented as: Pb(II)<Zn(II)<Co(II)Ni(II)<Cd(II) (the stability of the Cu saccharinates depends on the particular compound) and is dictated by several structural factors, e.g. metal ionic radii, participation of the water in the coordination sphere of the metal and other structural characteristics. The complexes Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II) and Zn(II) with 4-oxo-4H-1-benzopyran-3-carboxaldehyde were synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, infrared and UV spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction patterns, magnetic susceptibility, thermal gravimetric analysis, conductivity and also solubility measurements in water, methanol and DMF solution at 298 K. They are polycrystalline compounds with various formula and different ratio of metal ion:ligand. Their formula are following: [MnL2(H2O)](NO3)2·2H2O, [CoL2](NO3)2·3H2O, [NiL2](NO3)2·3H2O, [CuL2](NO3)2·H2O and [ZnL3](NO3)2, where L = C10H6O3. The coordination of metal ions is through oxygen atoms present in 4-position of γ-pyrone ring and of aldehyde group of ligand. Chelates of Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II) obey Curie–Weiss law and they are high-spin complexes with the weak ligand fields. The thermal stability of analyzed complexes was studied in air at 293–1,173 K. On the basis of the thermoanalytical curves, it appears that thermal stability of anhydrous analysed chelates changed following: Cu (423 K) < Zn (438 K) ~ Co (440 K) < Ni (468 K). The gaseous products of thermal decomposition of those compounds in air atmosphere are following: CO2, CO, NO2, N2O, hydrocarbons and in case of hydrates also water. The molar conductance data confirm that the all studied complexes are 1:2 electrolytes in DMF solution.  相似文献

Six new macrocyclic complexes were synthesized by the template effect from reaction of 1,4-bis(2-carboxyaldehydephenoxy)butane, Ni(NO3)2 · 6H2O or Co(NO3)2 · 6H2O and various diamines. The metal-to-ligand ratios of Ni(II) or Co(II) metal complexes were found to be 1 : 1. Coordination of the Schiff base to Ni(II) and Co(II) through the two nitrogen and two oxygen atom (ONNO) are expected to reduce the electron density in the azomethine link and hydroxyl group. The Ni(II) and Co(II) complexes are proposed to be tetrahedral and are 1 : 2 electrolytes as shown by their molar conductivities (ΛM) in DMF (dimethyl formamide) at 10?3 M. The structures are proposed from elemental analysis, FT-IR, UV-VIS, magnetic susceptibility measurements, molar conductivity measurements, and mass spectra.  相似文献

Homo and heterobinuclear complexes of arylidene- anthranilic acids with Cu(II), Ni(II) and Co(II) are prepared and characterised by chemical analysis, spectral and X-ray diffraction techniques as well as conductivity measurements. Two types of homo-binuclear complexes are formed. The first has the formula M2L2Cl2(H2O)n where M=Cu(II), Ni(II) and Co(II), L = p-hydroxybenzylideneanthranilic acid (hba), p-dimethylaminobenzylideneanthranilic acid (daba) and p-nitrobenzylideneanthranilic acid(nba) and n = 0–3. The second type has the formula M2LCl3(H2O)n in which M is the same as in the first type, L = benzylideneanthranilic acid (ba), (daba) (in cases of Cu(II) and Ni(II)); and n = 1–5. Heterobinuclear complexes having the formula (MLCl2H2O) MCl2(H2O)n are isolated by reaction of Cu(II) binary chelates with Ni(II) and/or Co(II) chlorides. These are also characterized and their structures are elucidated.  相似文献

The Stoichiometry of thermal decomposition was studied for the following compounds: Ni(NCS)2(pip)4 (I), (pip=piperidine), Ni(NCS)2(pip)2py·H2O (II), (py=piridine), Ni(NCS)2(4-Mepip)3 (III), Ni(NCS)2(3-Mepip)3 (IV) and Ni(NCS)2(3.5-Me2pip)3 (V). In complexes I, II, III and IV the loss of the volatile ligands (on the TG curve to 300 °C) occurs in three steps and in complex V in two steps. The loss of the last molecules of volatile ligands is accompanied by the decomposition of NCS groups. Spectral data and magnetic moment values for the initial complexes I and II (together with the defined intermediates) indicated pseudooctahedral configuration while pentacoordination for complexes III, IV and V. Structural changes of the complexes studied in thermal decomposition reactions are discussed.  相似文献

Novel oligonuclear complexes of Co(II), Ni(II), and Cu(II) with 4-(3,4-dichlorophenyl)-1,2,4-triazole (L) of the composition [M3L10(H2O)2](NO3)6 (M = Co(II), Ni(II)), [Ni3L6(H2O)6]Hal6 (Hal = Cl?, Br?), and [Cu5L16(H2O)2](NO3)10 · 2H2O were synthesized and studied by magnetic susceptibility, electronic and IR spectroscopy, and powder X-ray diffraction methods. All the above complexes are X-ray amorphous. Antifer-romagnetic exchange interactions between the M2+ ions were discovered in the [Co3L10(H2O)2](NO3)6 and [Ni3L10(H2O)2](NO3)6 complexes, whereas ferromagnetic exchange interactions were observed in the complexes [Ni3L6(H2O)6]Cl6, [Ni3L6(H2O)6]Br6, and [Cu5L16(H2O)2](NO3)10 · 2H2O.  相似文献

The synthesis and characterization of new transition metal complexes of Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II) with 3‐(2‐hydroxynaph‐1‐ylazo)‐1,2,4‐triazole ( HL1 ) and 3‐(2‐hydroxy‐3‐carboxynaph‐1‐ylazo)‐1,2,4‐triazole ( HL2 ) have been carried out. Their structures were confirmed by elemental analyses, thermal analyses, spectral and magnetic data. The IR and 1H NMR spectra indicated that HL1 and HL2 coordinated to the metal ions as bidentate monobasic ligands via the hydroxyl O and azo N atoms. The UV‐Vis, ESR spectra and magnetic moment data revealed the formation of octahedral complexes [Mn L1 (AcO)(H2O)3] ( 1 ), [Co L1 (AcO)(H2O)3]·H2O ( 2 ), [Mn L2 (AcO)(H2O)3] ( 6 ) and [Co L2 (AcO)(H2O)3] ( 7 ), [Ni L1 (AcO)(H2O)] ( 3 ), [Zn L1 (AcO)(H2O)]·H2O ( 5 ), [Ni L2 (AcO)(H2O)] ( 8 ), [Zn L2 (AcO)(H2O)]·10H2O ( 10 ) have tetrahedral geometry, whereas [Cu L1 (AcO)(H2O)2] ( 4 ) and [Cu L2 (AcO)(H2O)2]·5H2O ( 9 ) have square pyramidal geometry.. The mass spectra of the complexes under EI‐con‐ ditions showed the highest peaks corresponding to their molecular weights, based on the atomic weights of 55Mn, 59Co, 58Ni, 63Cu and 64Zn isotopes; besides, other peaks containing other isotopes distribution of the metal. Kinetic and thermodynamic parameters of the thermal decomposition stages were computed from the thermal data using Coats‐Redfern method. HL2 and complexes 6 – 10 were found to have moderate antimicrobial activities against Staphylococcus aureus (gram positive), Escherichia coli (gram negative) and Salmonella sp bacteria, and antifungal activity against Fusarium oxysporum, Aspergillus niger and Candida albicans. Also, in most cases, metallation increased the activity compared with the free ligand.  相似文献

Adducts of Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II) and Pb(II) saccharinates with 1,10-phenathroline were synthesized and their thermoanalytical (TG, DTG and DTA) curves in the 20–1000°C temperature interval and static air atmosphere were recorded. The complexes are best represented as M(C12H8N2)x(C7H4NO3S)2yH2O (x=2, 2, 2, 2 and 1; y=1, 1, 2, 1 and 2 for M=Co, Ni, Cu, Zn and Pb, respectively). The decomposition of the compounds regularly started with dehydration, followed by loss of the phenanthroline ligand(s). The structures of the Cu and Pb complexes are notably different from other compounds. FTIR spectra of the title compounds in the region of the OH, CO and SO2 stretching vibrations were also studied. The pronounced similarity of the spectra of Co, Ni and Zn adducts indicates possible isomorphism among them. The present work describes the preparation and characterization of some metal ion complexes derived from 4-formylpyridine-4 N-(2-pyridyl)thiosemicarbazone (HFPTS). The complexes have the formula; [Cd(HFPTS)2H2O]Cl2, [CoCl2(HPTS)]·H2O, [Cu2Cl4(HPTS)]·H2O, [Fe (HPTS)2Cl2]Cl·3H2O, [Hg(HPTS)Cl2]·4H2O, [Mn(HPTS)Cl2]·5H2O, [Ni(HPTS)Cl2]·2H2O, [UO2(FPTS)2(H2O)]·3H2O. The complexes were characterized by elemental analysis, spectral (IR, 1H-NMR and UV–Vis), thermal and magnetic moment measurements. The neutral bidentate coordination mode is major for the most investigated complexes. A mononegative bidentate for UO2(II), and neutral tridentate for Cu(II). The tetrahedral arrangement is proposed for most investigated complexes. The biological investigation displays the toxic activity of Hg(II) and UO2(II) complexes, whereas the ligand displays the lowest inhibition activity toward the most investigated microorganisms.  相似文献

Abstract

Co(II), Ni(II), and Cu(II) complexes of 2-Amino-5-ethyl-1,3,4-thiadiazole (AET) and 2-Amino-5-(ethylthio)-1,3,4-thiadiazole (AEST) have been synthesized and characterized based on elemental analysis, magnetic susceptibility, infrared (4000–400 cm?1), mass spectrometry (ESI and MALDI), UV–Vis (200–1100 nm) and thermal analysis (TGA/DTA). Molar conductance measurements proved that [M(L)2(H2O)2]Cl2·H2O are electrolytic complexes where M represents Co, Ni, and Cu divalent metal ions. The geometrical isomerism of [M(L)2(H2O)2]2+ ions were investigated by DFT-B3LYP calculations incorporated in Gaussian09 package; it favored the all trans isomers due to having the lowest energy points on the potential energy surface. The outcome of DFT-B3LYP quantum mechanical calculations using 6-31G(d) basis set favor six-coordinate sites via a bidentate ligand through exo amino and adjacent endo thiadiazole nitrogen (N3) donors. These results were consistent with magnetic measurements combined with infrared and UV–Vis spectral interpretations. The predicted metal–ligand binding energies from B3LYP/6-31G(d) calculations follow the trend Cu2+>Ni2+>Co2+, in agreement with the Irving–Williams series. Both AET and AEST ligands and the synthesized complexes were screened for their antibacterial activity and the outcome was high antimicrobial activity of the complexes compared to the free ligands against one or more microbial species and in some cases (copper complexes) higher activity than standard drugs.  相似文献
