Let μ be an Ahlfors-David probability measure on R~q;therefore,there exist some constants s_0 0 and ε_0,C_1,C_2 0 such that C_1ε~(s_0)≤μ(B(x,ε))≤C_2ε~(s_0) for all ε∈(0,ε_0) and x ∈ supp(μ).For n≥ 1,let α_n be an n-optimal set for μ of order r;furthermore,let {P_a(α_n)}_(a∈α_n) be an arbitrary Voronoi partition with respect to α_n.The n-th quantization error e_(n,r)(μ) for μ of order r can be defined as e_(n,r)~r(μ):=∫ d(x,α_n)~r dμ(x).We define I_a(α_n,μ):=∫_(P_a(α_n)) d(x,α_n)~r dμ(x),a ∈α_n,and prove that,the three quantities ■ are of the same order as that of 1/ne_(n,r)~r(μ).Thus,our result exhibits that,a weak version of Gersho's conjecture holds true for the Ahlfors-David probability measures on R~q.  相似文献

In this note we define a new topology on C(X),the set of all real-valued continuous functions on a Tychonoff space X.The new topology on C(X) is the topology having subbase open sets of both kinds:[f,C,ε[={g E C(X):|f(x)-g(x)| ε for every x∈C} and[U,r]~-={g∈C(X):g~(-1)(r)∩U≠φ},where f∈C(X),C∈KC(X)={nonempty compact subsets of X},ε 0,while U is an open subset of X and r∈R.The space C(X) equipped with the new topology T_(kh) which is stated above is denoted by C_(kh)(X).Denote X_0={x∈X:x is an isolated point of X} and X_c={x∈X:x has a compact neighborhood in X}.We show that if X is a Tychonoff space such that X_0=X_c,then the following statements are equivalent:(1) X_0 is G_δ-dense in X;(2) C_(kh)(X) is regular;(3) C_(kh)(X) is Tychonoff;(4) C_(kh)(X) is a topological group.We also show that if X is a Tychonoff space such that X_0=X_c and C_(kh)(X) is regular space with countable pseudocharacter,then X is σ-compact.If X is a metrizable hemicompact countable space,then C_(kh)(X) is first countable.  相似文献

Let {x_k~*}_(k=1)~(n-1) be the zeros of the (n-1) -th Legendre polynomial p_(n-1)(x) and {x_k}_(a=1)~n be the zeros of the polynomial w(x)= (1-x2~)p_(n-1)~1(x). By the theory of the Pal interpolation, for afunction f ∈ C_([-1,1])~1, there exists a unique polynomial Q_n(f, x) of degree 2n-1 satisfying conditions Q_n(f, x_k)=f(x_k), Q'_n(f, x_k~*)=f'(x_k~*), where k=1, 2, …, n and x_n~*=-1. The main result of this paper is that if f ∈ C_([-1,1])~r, thenf(x)-Q_n(f, x)=O(1)W(x)w(f~(r), 1/n)n~((1/2)-r), -1≤x≤1.Hence, if f ∈ C_[-1,1])~1, then Q_n(f, x) converges to the function f(x)uniformly on the interval [-1, 1].  相似文献

Let Ω(?)R~n be a bounded domain with a smooth boundary (?)Ω L a strictly elliptic operator and c(x)≥0 in Ω. In this paper we are concerned with the following Dirichlet problem with the growth condition (P_1): a<2, for n=2. It is proved that if p(x, t) has all derivatives up to order l which are locally Hlder continuous in (?)×R. and if a_(ij)(x) ∈C_(l 1,α)(Ω) and c(x)∈C_(l,α)(Ω), then any weak solution in W_0~(1,2) of (1) lies in C_(l 2,α)(Ω). Moreover, under the growth condition (P_1) and some additional assumptions, the existence of nontrivial solution of (1) is proved. The main difficulity here is that the simple bootstrapping procedure fails to apply directly to the case of the growth condition (P_1).  相似文献
