In composite models of quarks, leptons and weak bosons whereW-constituents are colored objects, color octet partners ofW ± andZ 0 are predicted. We study in detail the phenomenology of these particles. Independent of the specific model one expects a color octet isotriplet of vector bosons (W 8 ± ,Z 8 0 ) with mass in the range of 100–200 GeV, and a color octet isosinglet vector bosonV 8 0 with substantially larger mass, due to mixing with the gluon. Moreover, relatively light color octet excitations of the leptons appear, while the existence of “color exotic” partners of the quarks is model dependent. These particles decay mainly into a lepton (quark) and a gluon. We construct the couplings ofW 8 ± ,Z 8 0 andV 8 0 to ordinary and “color exotic” fermions. The signals of color octet weak bosons in low energy weak reactions are explored in detail. The production cross section ofW 8 ± (Z 8 0 ) in hadron-hadron collisions is calculated for \(0.54TeV \leqq \sqrt s \leqq 20TeV\) . Various decay modes of colored weak bosons are studied. The most prominent decay signatures ofW 8 ± andZ 8 0 are events of the type (l +-: charged lepton;j: hadronic jet; : missing transverse momentum). The present CERN \(p\bar p\) collider data on such events are discussed in the light ofW 8 ± andZ 8 0 decays. If colored weak bosons are not found with a mass less than ~250 GeV composite model building will be strongly restricted.  相似文献

Starting from an isospin invariant shell-model hamiltonian, we describe a method for deriving microscopically the IBM-hamiltonian appropriate to lights d-shell nuclei. The key ingredients of our approach are:a) the Belyaev-Zelevinsky-Marshalek (BZM) bosonization procedure;b) two successive unitary transformations that extract the “maximally decoupled” collective bosons with angular momentaJ=0(s ππ + ,s νν + ,s πν + ) andJ =2(d ππ + ,d νν + ,d πν + (T=0),d πν + (T=1)). The method is applied to obtain the low-energy spectra and the electron scattering form factors for the 0 1 + →2 1 + transitions in20Ne and24Mg. Good agreement with the exact shell-model results is achieved. The inclusion of proton-neutron bosons (s πν + ,d πν + (T=1),d πν + (T=0)), as well as the renormalization of boson parameters due to the non-collective degrees of freedom, are shown to play a crucial role.  相似文献

The energy-density components Θ 0 0 andT 0 0 of the canonical and of the metrical energy-momentum tensors Θ k i andT k i for a statical field of vector mesons have opposite signatures: Θ 0 0 =H=?T 0 0 =?L. Thermochemical data on fullerenes are relatively scarce. However, some thermochemical information can be derived from gas-phase experiments using the Knudsen cell mass spectrometry method. The third-law treatment can be carried out on the observed data, though one has to make the crucial presumption that the change in the thermodynamic potential ΔΦ T o in the course of the reactions considered is negligible: ΔΦ T o =0. It would be difficult to check the presumption directly in the experiment, but it can be checked computationally. Model reactions like C60+ 70 ? = 60 ? +70 are selected. The change in the thermodynamic potential ΔΦ T o and the change in the standard entropy ΔS T o are computed. For example, at a temperature of T=1000 K, the standard changes for the reaction evaluated using the SAM1 method are ΔΦ T o =1.513 cal/(mol K) and ΔS T o =?0.054 cal/(mol K). Overall, the computations support the critical thermodynamic presumption.  相似文献

Effects from an extended Higgs sector on the partial widths \(\Gamma _{{\rm Z} \to b\bar b} \) and \(\Gamma _{{\rm Z} \to \tau ^ + \tau ^ - } \) are analysed with emphasis on enhanced Yukawa couplings to the fermions with the weak isospinT 3=?1/2. Contributions from charged and neutral Higgs bosons are incorporated. Vertex corrections from a heavy top quark and from charged Higgs bosons are always negative. One can however find regions in the parameter space where neutral Higgs bosons lead to positive vertex corrections. The charged Higgs bosons decouple from the ratio \(\Gamma ^{_{{\rm Z} \to \tau ^ + \tau ^ - } } /\Gamma ^{_{{\rm Z} \to \mu ^ + \mu ^ - } } \) if their mass is beyond 80 GeV. This ratio is then sensitive to the neutral sector only.  相似文献

The high spin level structure of the three-neutron nucleus149Gd has been investigated by in-beamγ-ray and electron spectroscopy with (α, xn) reactions. The observed levels are characterized as members of the shell model multipletsνf 7 2/3 ,νh 9/2 f 7 2/2 ,νf 7 2/3 ×3?,νh 9/2 f 7 2/2 ×3?, and tentativelyνf 7 2/3 ×(3?)2. The energies of theν f 7 2/3 states agree only moderately with those calculated using empirical two-nucleon interactions taken from148Gd, which indicates the importance of long range contributions already atN=85.  相似文献

A theory of bandwidth anisotropy in metallic ferromagnets developed previously is specialised to the case of 5d electrons in a hexagonal close-packed lattice. This theory is combined with a model for 5d electrons in the heavy rare earth metals to give a new theory for the low temperature values of the magnetic anisotropy coefficientsκ 2 0 andκ 4 0 in Tb, Dy, Ho, Er and Tm. In this theory the magnetic anisotropy is due to a combination of (i) crystal fields acting on 5d and 4f electrons and (ii) bandwidth anisotropy associated with a dependence of 5d bandwidths on magnetization direction. After use is made of empirical upper limits on the eighth order magnetic anisotropy in Gd, there remain four partially adjustable parameters of importance in the theory. These can be chosen to give a good fit to the six observed values forκ 2 0 andκ 4 0 in Tb, Dy and Ho. Crystal fields corresponding to negative point charges are seen by 5d electrons, but because of 4f – 5d interactions effective fields of larger magnitude and opposite sign act on 4f shells. Bandwidth anisotropy gives a significant contribution toκ 4 0 of opposite sign to that due to crystal fields, and dominates the latter in Tb and Er.  相似文献

The ΛΛ 6 He and Λ 9 Be hypernuclei are treated as the S=0, T=0 (for the former) and S=1/2, T=0 (for the latter) bound states of the three-cluster systems ΛΛα and Λαα, respectively. The cluster-reduction method is used to solve the s-wave differential Faddeev equations for these systems. On the basis of the MT I–III model, the ΛΛ interaction potential is specified in the form $V_{\Lambda \Lambda } = \frac{2}{3}V_{NN} $ . Phenomenological potentials are used to describe Λα and αα interactions. The binding energies of the ΛΛ 6 He and Λ 9 Be hypernuclei and the parameters of low-energy Λ-hyperon and α-particle scattering on a Λ 5 He hypernucleus are calculated. It is shown that the proposed ΛΛ interaction potential makes it possible to reproduce faithfully the binding energy of the ΛΛ 6 He hypernucleus and that scattering in the Λ Λ 5 He system is similar to neutron scattering on a deuteron.  相似文献

Theg-factor of the 4 1 + -state of202Pb was investigated by the IPAC-technique. Inspite of the long half-life, which was measured as:T 1/2(4 1 + -state)=1.97(2)ns and the strong applied external magnetic field of 95.0 kG no rotation of the 787 keV-(422keV)-961 keVγ-γ angular correlation could be observed. Theg-factor must therefore be very small. A computer fit gave the limits:g(4 1 + -state)=+0.002(4). This smallg-factor can be understood by the assumption of an accidental cancellation of a positive contribution by the main [f 5/2 2 ]4-configuration and several negative contributions by admixtures of all other possible two neutron configurations.  相似文献

The transient field technique has been used to determine theg-factor of the 4 2 + state at 6.010MeV excitation in24Mg. The deduced value ofg=+0.5(4) is consistent with collective model expectations. Further, the equality within experimental accuracies, of the g-factors of the 2 1 + , 2 2 + , 4 1 + and 4 2 + states agrees with theoretical predictions for thisT=0 self-conjugate nucleus, in contrast to the results for20Ne.  相似文献

We analyse the restrictions imposed by supersymmetric Ward identities on the dimension-six condensates in supersymmetric gluodynamics. It is shown that the system of the Ward identities admits a nonzero value for the four-fermion condensate \(\left\langle {\left( {\lambda \sigma _\mu T^a \bar \lambda } \right)^2 } \right\rangle _0 \) while 〈f abc F μν a F νρ b F ρμ c 0 must vanish.  相似文献

It was shown that optical bleaching of M A + color centers at 80 K in SrF2-Na crystals causes the core of an M A + -center to transform into the V a + Me + V a + configuration, in which all three point defects are arranged diagnonally in the cube cell. Reirradiation of an optically bleached crystal by x-rays generates F D centers in it: V a + Me + V a + + e ?V a 0 Me + V a + F D. The F DM A + transformation in SrF2-Na crystals proceeds at T = 135 K, in contrast to the F AM A + transformations, which take place at T > 200 K.  相似文献

The frequency dependence of the freezing temperatureT f(ν) is determined for the dilute spin glass systems (La, Gd)B6 and (Y, Gd)Al2 in the frequency range 10–1,000 Hz. While for (La, Gd)B6,T f(ν) is found to be weak, for (Y, Gd)Al2 T f(ν) is even stronger than for the previously studied system (La, Gd)Al2. Both, measurements of the temperature dependence of the susceptibility nearT f and calculations of the RKKY pair interaction, suggest that this difference is correlated with a different sign of the nearest-neighbor interaction, which appears to be antiferromagnetic for (La, Gd)B6 and ferromagnetic for (Y, Gd)Al2 as well as (La, Gd)Al2.  相似文献

In both cases, we obtain explicit formulas for the limiting (almost sure) values of the so-called overlap parameters $$m_N^\mu (\beta ,h) = N^{ - 1} \sum\limits_{i = 1}^N {\xi _i^\mu \left\langle {S_i } \right\rangle } $$ in terms of the Curie-Weiss magnetizations. For the general i.i.d. case with Prob {ξ i μ =±1}=(1/2)±?, we obtain the lower bound 1+4?2(p?1) for the temperatureT c separating the trivial free regime where the overlap vector is zero from the nontrivial regime where it is nonzero. This lower bound is exact forp=2, or ε=0, or ε=±1/2. Forp=2 we identify an intermediate temperature region between T*=1?4?2 and Tc=1+4?2 where the overlap vector is homogeneous (i.e., all its components are equal) and nonzero.T * marks the transition to the nonhomogeneous regime where the components of the overlap vector are distinct. γ-γ-angular correlation measurements with Ge(Li) detectors and NaJ(Tl) detectors provided theE2/M1 mixing ratios of the following gamma transitions: 3 1 + →2 2 + (475.3 keV), 2 2 + →2 1 + (563.3 keV), 4 2 + →4 1 + (569.4 keV), 3 1 + →2 1 + (1,039 keV). The angular correlation measurements were only consistent with spin 3 of the 1,643 keV level. We present firstT 1e ?1 andT 2e ?1 measurements on the organic ion radical salt 3,3′-diethyl-4,4′-dimethyl-2,2′-thiazolocyanine-(TCNQ)2 as function of temperature and of orientation. The electronic spin diffusion constant could be determined directly by the electron spin echo field gradient technique:D (300 K)=0.03±0.02 cm2/sec. Pulsed ESR experiments have — in comparison to conventional cw-ESR — the advantage to monitor viaT 1e ?1 andT 2e ?1 the spectral density of dynamical processes at different frequencies. This is shown in a general manner on 3,3′-diethyl-4,4′-dimethyl-2,2′-thiazolocyanine-(TCNQ)2. Between 300 and 60 K,T 1e ?1 andT 2e ?1 are close in amplitude and have a similar temperature dependence. At 60 K their degeneracy is lifted, yielding a quantitative value for the effective spin exchange between localized spinsτ ex ?1 sec?1 and via the absolute value of the relaxation an average distance of the localized centers of about 12 Å. The dynamical data as evaluated above cannot be correlated with the conductivity, clearly indicating that the conduction electrons are a minority, not being monitored by the ESR-experiments.  相似文献

From (p, xn) in-beamγ-ray and electron measurements aT 1/2=235(14) ns isomer at 720 keV was identified in 63 148 Eu85 and the levels populated in its decay have been characterized. The results determineI π=9+ for the isomeric state, and we assign it as the (πh 11/2 j 0 ?2 ν f 7 2/3 )9+ shell model state, analogous to the configuration of the 235 μs isomer in 63 146 Eu83.  相似文献

The production properties ofK s 0 , \(\bar \Lambda\) andK + p interactions at 32 GeV/c are investigated using the final statistics of the experiment. We present total and semi-inclusive cross sections and aver-age multiplicities. Estimates are given of the diffractive dissociation contributions to total and differential cross sections. Thex-,p T ?, and transverse mass dependence of inclusive and semi-inclusive distributions is discussed as well as properties of “prompt”K s 0 's. The ratio of “prompt”K 890 + (K 890 0 ) to “prompt”K 0 cross sections is measured to be 1.03±0.12 (0.98±0.17). From a comparison of \(\bar \Lambda\) production inK ± p interactions at 32 GeV/c, we estimate a strange sea-quark suppression of 0.26 ±0.02. The double differential cross sections ofK s 0 's is studied as a function of Feynman-x andp T 2 , and a Triple-Regge fit performed. The data are compared in detail to versions of the Lund-model for low-p T hadronic collisions.  相似文献

The electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) spectra of Eu2+ impurity centers in SrMoO4 crystals have been studied in the temperature range of 1.8, 100–300 K. A hyperfine structure has been simulated for 151,153Eu of different EPR transitions observed experimentally at different temperatures and external magnetic field orientations. A unique set of all parameters of the spin Hamiltonian for the known sign of the hyperfine interaction parameters A i has been determined. It has been found that the diagonal parameters |b n 0 | of the spin Hamiltonian decrease with increasing temperature; however, the parameter b 4 4 increases. The results of the study have demonstrated that |b 2 0 (T)/P 2 0 (T)| ~ const for 151,153Eu in this single crystal.  相似文献
