It is reported that a mixture of WS2 nanosheets (WS2 NS) and silver nanoclusters (AgNCs) displays strongly enhanced peroxidase-mimicking activity. The catalytic effect of the mixture was studied by colorimetry, fluorometry, chemiluminescence (CL) and electrochemistry. The effect is interpreted in terms of a difference between the Fermi energy level of the two nanomaterials. This leads to the formation of charge separation regions which act as active sites for enzyme mimetic interaction with the substrates. The mixture of WS2 NS and AgNCs was exploited for the non-enzymatic determination of H2O2 and glucose. A stopped-flow method was applied as a sensitive CL detection system using the bicarbonate-H2O2 reaction. The mixture has a powerful peroxidase mimicking activity on the bicarbonate-H2O2 CL reaction, and this effect is much larger than that of any single constituent. In addition, the CL emission is improved several times by using the stopped-flow technique. Under optimum condition, H2O2 can be determined in the 2.5–1500 nM concentration range. Moreover, glucose levels in human serum can be quantified via glucose oxidase based oxidation which leads to the generation of H2O2. Using this CL assay, a linear relationship was obtained between the intensity of the CL emission and glucose concentration in the range of 0.03–20 μM, with a limit of detection (3S) of 13 nM.
Graphical abstract An enhanced peroxidase-like catalytic activity for WS2 nanosheets (WS2 NS) was revealed in the presence of silver nanoclusters (AgNCs), and was exploited for the non-enzymatic determination of H2O2, and of glucose (via glucose oxidase; GOx) using a stopped-flow CL method.

The paper describes a nonenzymatic amperometric H2O2 sensor that uses a nanocomposite consisting of Co3O4 nanoparticles (NPs) and mesoporous carbon nanofibers (Co3O4-MCNFs). The Co3O4 NPs were grown in situ on the MCNFs by a solvothermal procedure. The synergetic combination of the electrocatalytic activity of the Co3O4 NPs and the electrical conductivity of MCNFs as an immobilization matrix enhance the sensing ability of the hybrid nanostructure. The oxidation current, best measured at 0.2 V (vs. SCE) is linear in the 1 to 2580 μM H2O2 concentration range, with a 0.5 μM lower detection limit (at an S/N ratio of 3). The sensor is highly selective even in the presence of common electroactive interferents. It was applied to the determination of H2O2 in spiked milk samples.

The paper describes a sensitive method for simultaneous sensing of morphine (MOR) and diclofenac (DCF). The surface of a MgFe2O4/graphite paste electrode was modified with multi-walled carbon nanotubes, and the resulting sensor was characterized by cyclic voltammetry, differential pulse voltammetry, chronoamperometry, and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. The electrode showed an efficient synergistic effect in term of oxidation of DCF and MOR, with sharp oxidation peaks occurring at +0.370 and 0.540 V (vs Ag/AgCl) at pH 7.0. The calibration plot for MOR is linear in the 50 nM to 920 μM concentration range, and the detection limit is 10 nM (at a signal-to-noise ratio of 3). The respective data for DCF are 100 nM to 580 μM, with a 60 nM LOD. The sensor was applied to the determination of MOR and DCF in spiked serum and urine samples, with recoveries ranging between 91.4 and 100.7 %.

Graphite-like carbon nitride ? Fe3O4 magnetic nanocomposites were synthesized by a chemical co-precipitation method. The nanocomposites were characterized by transmission electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, FTIR spectroscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and magnetization hysteresis loops. The nanocomposites exhibit enhanced peroxidase-like activity (compared to that of graphite-like carbon nitride or Fe3O4 NPs). More specifically, they are capable of catalyzing the oxidation of different peroxidase substrates (such as TMB, ABTS or OPD) by H2O2 to produce the typical color reactions (blue, green or orange). The nanocomposites retain their magnetic properties and can be separated by an external magnet. On the basis of these findings, a highly sensitive and selective method was applied to the determination of H2O2 and glucose (by using glucose oxidase). It was successfully applied to the determination of glucose in (spiked) human serum. Compared to other nanomaterial-based peroxidase mimetics, the one described here provides distinctly higher sensitivity for both H2O2 and glucose, with detection limits as low as 0.3 μM and 0.25 μM, respectively.

A nanoceramic product of the composition Lu2Ti2O7 is synthesized by a coprecipitation method with a subsequent sublimation drying and an annealing at 650–1650°C. The conduction of Lu2Ti2O7 synthesized at 1650°C is ionic (10–3 S cm–1 at 800°C). Thus, a new material with a high ionic conduction has been discovered. The ordering in Lu2Ti2O7 is studied by methods of RFA, RSA, IK spectroscopy, electron microscopy, and impedance spectroscopy. The existence of a low-temperature phase transition fluorite-pyrochlore at 800°C and a high-temperature conversion order-disorder at 1650°C are established.Translated from Elektrokhimiya, Vol. 41, No. 3, 2005, pp. 298–303.Original Russian Text Copyright © 2005 by Shlyakhtina, Ukshe, Shcherbakova.  相似文献

The authors report that carbon nitride quantum dots (CN QDs) exert a strong enhancing effect on the Cu(II)/H2O2 chemiluminescent system. Chemiluminescence (CL) intensity is enhanced by CN QDs by a factor of ~75, while other carbon nanomaterials have a much weaker effect. The possible mechanism of the effect was evaluated by recording fluorescence and CL spectra and by examining the effect of various radical scavengers. Emitting species was found to be excited-state CN QDs that produce green CL peaking at 515 nm. The new CL system was applied to the sensitive detection of H2O2 and glucose (via glucose oxidase-catalyzed formation of H2O2) with detection limits (3σ) of 10 nM for H2O2 and 100 nM for glucose. The probe was employed for glucose determination in human plasma samples with satisfactory results.

The phase diagram of the system CdI2-Bi2O3 is studied by means of X-ray diffraction, differential thermal analysis and measurements of the density of the material. As a result of the synthetic and peritectic interactions, two incongruently melting intermediate phases i.e. phase A — CdI2·2Bi2O3 and phase B — CdI2·4Bi2O3 (stable in the temperature interval 370–850°C) are formed. The phase A exists in two polymorphic forms with a temperature of the phase transition T =320–370°C. The unit cell parameters at low temperature modification of -CdI2°2Bi2O3 were determined. (a=1.032 nm, b=1.046 nm, c=1.046 nm, =115.02°, =109.11° and =82.04°). The phases A and B have fields of homogeneity. The authors acknowledge thankfully the financial support for this work from the Ministry of Education and Science (Fond Scientific investigations — contract TN-1102).  相似文献

The kinetics of ignition of O2-O3 mixtures upon the excitation of O3 molecules by laser radiation with a wavelength #x03BB;I of 9.695 µm is considered. The stimulation of asymmetrical vibrations of O3 molecules was shown to produce more efficient dissociation of O3 molecules, faster heating of the mixture, and, as a consequence, a decrease in the induction time and ignition temperature. Even when the energy of radiation applied to the gas is low (E in 0.15 J/cm2), the ignition temperature of pure ozone can be reduced from 520 to 300 K at a pressure of 103 Pa.Translated from Kinetika i Kataliz, Vol. 45, No. 6, 2004, pp. 897–903.Original Russian Text Copyright © 2004 by Lukhovitskii, Starik, Titova.  相似文献

Simultaneous determination of the fat-soluble vitamins A and E and the water-soluble vitamins B1, B2 and B6 has been carried using a screening method from fluorescence contour graphs. These graphs show different colour zones in relation to the fluorescence intensity measured for the pair of excitation/emission wavelengths. The identification of the corresponding excitation/emission wavelength zones allows the detection of different vitamins in an aqueous medium regardless of the fat or water solubility of each vitamin, owing to the presence of a surfactant which forms micelles in water at the used concentration (over the critical micelle concentration). The micelles dissolve very water insoluble compounds, such as fat-soluble vitamins, inside the aggregates. This approach avoids the use of organic solvents in determining these vitamins and offers the possibility of analysing fat- and water-soluble vitamins simultaneously. The method has been validated in terms of detection limit, cut-off limit, sensitivity, number of false positives, number of false negatives and uncertainty range. The detection limit is about g L–1. The screening method was applied to different samples such as pharmaceuticals, juices and isotonic drinks.  相似文献

A simple, efficient, and eco-friendly catalytic system for the oxidation of cyclohexene to adipic acid with H2O2 catalyzed by H2WO4 in Brønsted acidic ionic liquids under solvent-free conditions has been developed. Reaction conditions such as the catalysts, the types of anions and cations for Brønsted acidic ionic liquids, reaction temperature, and the amount of hydrogen peroxide, were investigated. Moreover, the Hammett acidity functions (H 0) of Brønsted acidic ionic liquids were determined using UV–visible spectrophotometry. The optimum reaction condition identified was n(H2WO4):n(Brønsted acidic ionic liquids):n(cyclohexene):n(H2O2) = 0.02:0.02:1:4.4, and the yield of adipic acid was 96% under the reaction scale of 10 mmol. The catalytic system can be easily recovered and reused for four reaction runs without significant loss of catalytic activity. Simple operation of the catalyst system and avoidance of the emission of nitrous oxide are the benefits of this work.  相似文献

A polycrystal X-ray diffraction study has been performed for [Ir(NH3)5Cl]2[ReCl6]Cl2, and its crystal structure has been determined. A series of Ir x Re1–x phases (0.5 x > 1) were obtained by reductive thermolysis. The authors report on the preparation of a hollow-structured cobalt ferrite (CoFe2O4) nanocomposite for use in a non-enzymatic sensor for hydrogen peroxide (H2O2). Silica (SiO2) nanoparticles were exploited as template for the deposition of Fe3O4/CoFe2O4 nanosheets, which was followed by the removal of SiO2 template under mild conditions. This leads to the formation of hollow-structured Fe3O4/CoFe2O4 interconnected nanosheets with cubic spinel structure of high crystallinity. The material was placed on a glassy carbon electrode where it acts as a viable sensor for non-enzymatic determination of H2O2. Operated at a potential of ?0.45 V vs. Ag/AgCl in 0.1 M NaOH solution, the modified GCE has a sensitivity of 17 nA μM?1 cm?2, a linear response in the range of 10 to 1200 μM H2O2 concentration range, and a 2.5 μM detection limit. The sensor is reproducible and stable and was applied to the analysis of spiked urine samples, where it provided excellent recoveries.

The incorporation of nanomaterials into electrochemical sensors is an attractive approach towards the improvement of the sensitivity of amperometry and also can provide improved sensor selectivity and stability. This review (with 137 references) details the current state of the art and new trends in nanomaterial-based electrochemical sensing of hydrogen peroxide (H2O2), hydrogen sulfide (H2S) and nitric oxide (NO) in cells or released by cells. The article starts with a discussion of the significance of the three analytes, and this is followed by three sections that summarize the electrochemical detection schemes for H2O2, H2S and NO. Each section first summarizes the respective physiological roles, and then reviews electrochemical sensors based on the use of carbon nanomaterials, noble metal nanomaterials, metal oxide nanomaterials, and layered doubled hydroxides. The materials are compiled in three tables along with figures of merit for the various sensors.

The synthesis of [Mn12O12(O2CMe)6(p-CO2-phenyl nitronyl nitroxide)10(H2O)4]· 4H2O, (1), by direct replacement of some of the acetate groups in [Mn12O12(O2CMe)16(H2O)4] · 4H2O · 2MeCO2H, (2), with the organic radical p-HO2C-phenyl nitronyl nitroxide, (3), is reported. E.p.r. spectra show exchange narrowing in (1) due to coupling between the manganese ions and radicals. The isotropic hyperfine splitting constant from the manganese ions is a = 96 Oe at 5.5K. The magnetic susceptibility indicates antiferromagnetic exchange interactions between the manganese ions and the radicals with the Weiss constant = -25 K. The spin was determined to be S = 6 from magnetization data in the 2--30 K temperature range at 50 kOe, suggesting a mixture of ground state with excited states.  相似文献

This paper is focused upon the influence of potassium on the reduction behavior and catalytic properties of Fe2O3, Ru/Fe2O3 and Ru/(K)Fe2O3 catalysts for the water gas shift (WGS) reaction. The effect of promotion by potassium is attributed to stabilization of a highly dispersed ruthenium phase on the iron oxide surface. The hydrogen reduction behavior of Fe2O3 catalysts is strongly influenced by time-pressure dependent processes and comprises two or three heavily overlapped TPR peaks which can be ascribed to the following stages of the iron(III) oxide reduction 3Fe2O3 2Fe3O4 6FeO 6Fe. The appearance of FeO as an intermediate phase was confirmed by XRD. The presence of ruthenium(IV) oxide substantially changes the kinetics of the reduction process. In the case of potassium-doped catalysts, the reduction of Fe2O3 is substantially different and is assigned to the reduction phase of KFeO2. Both ruthenium and potassium have a promoting effect on the catalytic activity for the WGS reaction. From Kinetika i Kataliz, Vol. 45, No. 6, 2004, pp. 930–941.Original English Text Copyright © 2004 by Jówiak, Maniecki, Basiska, Góralski, Fiedorow. This article was submitted by the authors in English.  相似文献

Ionic liquid coated nanoparticles (IL-NPs) consisting of zero-valent iron are shown to display intrinsic peroxidase-like activity with enhanced potential to catalyze the oxidation of the chromogenic substrate 3,3′,5,5′-tetramethylbenzidine (TMB) in the presence of hydrogen peroxide. This results in the formation of a blue green colored product that can be detected with bare eyes and quantified by photometry at 652 nm. The IL-NPs were further doped with bismuth to enhance its catalytic properties. The Bi-doped IL-NPs were characterized by FTIR, X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy. A colorimetric assay was worked out for hydrogen peroxide that is simple, sensitive and selective. Response is linear in the 30–300 μM H2O2 concentration range, and the detection limit is 0.15 μM.

The possibility of enhancing the ignition and combustion of the CH4/air/O3 and C2H2/air/O3 mixtures by exciting the asymmetric vibrations of the O3 molecule with CO2 laser radiation is considered. Even the admixture of small amounts of O3 (2.5–5.0 vol %) into the hydrocarbon/air mixtures intensifies ignition and shortens the induction period. The excitation of the O3 molecules with 9.7-μm radiation speeds up the chain process and further reduces the induction period and the ignition temperature. The induction period can be shortened by a factor of 10–100 even at low radiation energies absorbed by the gas (E S = 10?3-10?2 J/cm3).  相似文献

The Sm2S3-Sm2O3 phase diagram was studied by physicochemical methods of analysis from 800 K up to melting. Two oxysulfides are formed in the system: Sm10S14O with tetragonal crystal structure (space group I41/acd; unit cell parameters: a = 1.4860 nm, c = 1.9740 nm; microhardness: H = 4700 MPa; solid decomposition temperature: 1500 K) and Sm2O2S with hexagonal structure (space group P-3m1; a = 0.3893 nm, c = 0.6717 nm; H = 4500 MPa; congruent melting temperature: 2370 K). Within the extent of the Sm2O2S-based solid solution (61–70 mol % Sm2O3) at 1070 K, a singular point appears at the compound composition on property-composition curves. The eutectic coordinates: 23 mol % Sm2O3 and 1850 K; 80 mol % Sm2O3 and 2290 K.  相似文献
