The editing-and-imputation problem concerns the question of finding errors in a record which does not satisfy a set of consistency rules. Once some potential errors have been localizated, it is also necessary to impute new values to the associated fields. The output dataset should consist of valid records and preserve similar statistical properties as the input dataset. Most of this work is usually done manually by statistical agencies, thus consuming a great deal of human resources. This paper presents a mathematical programming model to optimally solve the problem on surveys with categorical values and particular edits. We also describe a heuristic approach to deal with the more complex surveys. The heuristic procedure follows a combination of the widely-accepted hot-deck donor scheme and the multivariate regression analysis. It has been implemented in a graphical user interface running on standard personal computers, and has been tested on real-world surveys. This paper demonstrates the satisfactory performance of our automatic procedure.  相似文献

在数据包络分析(DEA)中,公共权重模型是决策单元效率评价与排序的常用方法之一。与传统DEA模型相比,公共权重模型用一组公共的投入产出权重评价所有决策单元,评价结果往往更具有区分度且更为客观。本文考虑决策单元对排序位置的满意程度,提出了基于最大化最小满意度和最大化平均满意度两类新的公共权重模型。首先,基于随机多准则可接受度分析(SMAA)方法,计算出每个决策单元处于各个排名位置的可接受度;然后,通过逆权重空间分析,分别求得使最小满意度和平均满意度最大化的一组公共权重;最后,利用所求的公共权重,计算各决策单元的效率值及相应的排序。算例分析验证了本文提出的基于SMAA的公共权重模型用于决策单元效率评价与排序的可行性。  相似文献

In this paper, we propose a new methodology to deal with PCA in high-dimension, low-sample-size (HDLSS) data situations. We give an idea of estimating eigenvalues via singular values of a cross data matrix. We provide consistency properties of the eigenvalue estimation as well as its limiting distribution when the dimension d and the sample size n both grow to infinity in such a way that n is much lower than d. We apply the new methodology to estimating PC directions and PC scores in HDLSS data situations. We give an application of the findings in this paper to a mixture model to classify a dataset into two clusters. We demonstrate how the new methodology performs by using HDLSS data from a microarray study of prostate cancer.  相似文献

Min-protein oscillation in Escherichia coli has an essential role in controlling the accurate placement of the cell division septum at the middle-cell zone of the bacteria. This biochemical process has been successfully described by a set of reaction-diffusion equations at the macroscopic level. The lattice Boltzmann method (LBM) has been used to simulate Min-protein oscillation and proved to recover the correct macroscopic equations. In this present work, we studied the effects of LBM boundary conditions (BC) on Min-protein oscillation. The impact of diffusion and reaction dynamics on BCs was also investigated. It was found that the mirror-image BC is a suitable boundary treatment for this Min-protein model. The physical significance of the results is extensively discussed.  相似文献

Analysis of variance is a standard statistical modeling approach for comparing populations. The functional analysis setting envisions that mean functions are associated with the populations, customarily modeled using basis representations, and seeks to compare them. Here, we adopt the modeling approach of functions as realizations of stochastic processes. We extend the Gaussian process version to allow nonparametric specifications using Dirichlet process mixing. Several metrics are introduced for comparison of populations. Then we introduce a hierarchical Dirichlet process model which enables comparison of the population distributions, either directly or through functionals of interest using the foregoing metrics. The modeling is extended to allow us to switch the sampling scheme. There are still population level distributions but now we sample at levels of the functions, obtaining observations from potentially different individuals at different levels. We illustrate with both simulated data and a dataset of temperature versus depth measurements at different locations in the Atlantic Ocean.  相似文献

In a finite dataset consisting of positive and negative observations represented as real valued n-vectors, a positive (negative) pattern is an interval in Rn with the property that it contains sufficiently many positive (negative) observations, and sufficiently few negative (positive) ones. A pattern is spanned if it does not include properly any other interval containing the same set of observations. Although large collections of spanned patterns can provide highly accurate classification models within the framework of the Logical Analysis of Data, no efficient method for their generation is currently known. We propose in this paper, an incrementally polynomial time algorithm for the generation of all spanned patterns in a dataset, which runs in linear time in the output; the algorithm resembles closely the Blake and Quine consensus method for finding the prime implicants of Boolean functions. The efficiency of the proposed algorithm is tested on various publicly available datasets. In the last part of the paper, we present the results of a series of computational experiments which show the high degree of robustness of spanned patterns.  相似文献

A radical α in the universal class of associative rings is called matric-extensible if α (R n) = (α (R))n for any ring R, and natural number n, where R n denotes the nxn matrix ring with entries from R. We investigate matric-extensibility of the lower radical determined by a simple ring S. This enables us to find necessary and sufficient conditions for the lower radical determined by S to be an atom in the lattice of hereditary matric-extensible radicals. We also show that this lattice has atoms which are not of this form. We then describe all atoms of the lattice, and show that it is atomic.  相似文献

A stable model category is a setting for homotopy theory where the suspension functor is invertible. The prototypical examples are the category of spectra in the sense of stable homotopy theory and the category of unbounded chain complexes of modules over a ring. In this paper we develop methods for deciding when two stable model categories represent ‘the same homotopy theory’. We show that stable model categories with a single compact generator are equivalent to modules over a ring spectrum. More generally stable model categories with a set of generators are characterized as modules over a ‘ring spectrum with several objects’, i.e., as spectrum valued diagram categories. We also prove a Morita theorem which shows how equivalences between module categories over ring spectra can be realized by smashing with a pair of bimodules. Finally, we characterize stable model categories which represent the derived category of a ring. This is a slight generalization of Rickard's work on derived equivalent rings. We also include a proof of the model category equivalence of modules over the Eilenberg-Mac Lane spectrum HR and (unbounded) chain complexes of R-modules for a ring R.  相似文献

It is shown that the Behrens radical of a polynomial ring, in either commuting or non-commuting indeterminates, has the form of “polynomials over an ideal”. Moreover, in the case of non-commuting indeterminates, for a given coefficient ring, the ideal does not depend on the cardinality of the set of indeterminates. However, in contrast to the Brown-McCoy radical, it can happen that the polynomial ring R[X] in an infinite set X of commuting indeterminates over a ring R is Behrens radical while the polynomial ring RX〉 in an infinite set Y of non-commuting indeterminates over R is not Behrens radical. This is connected with the fact that the matrix rings over Behrens radical rings need not be Behrens radical. The class of Behrens radical rings, which is closed under taking matrix rings, is described.  相似文献

Hull-kernel topology on the set ∑(R) of prime ideals of a ring R with unity and without nilpotent elements is discussed. The restriction of this topology to the set π(R) of minimal prime ideals of R has been investigated in detail. The compactness of π(R) has been characterized in several ways. An interesting characterization of Baer rings is given.A functorial correspondence between the category of rings having the property that every prime ideal contains a unique minimal prime ideal and their minimal spectra is established.  相似文献

The high resolution proton magnetic resonance spectra of AB, ABC and ABCD systems in fourteen coumarins have been studied. Chemical shifts and spin coupling constants for the protons in various positions in the benzo-α-pyrone ring have been obtained. The spectrum of coumarin confirms the ethylenic nature of double bond between carbon atoms in positions 3 and 4. The chemical shifts for the phenyl protons are in conformity with the reactivities of the coumarins at various positions in the ring. A linear relation has been observed between the chemical shift for proton in 8 position in various 6 substituted coumarins and the Hammett’s constants (σ) for substituents in themeta position. The NMR spectra offer a very convenient method for distinguishing between 3 and 4 substituted coumarins on account of the large chemical shift for the protons in positions 3 and 4. The results do not substantiate resonance of the naphthalene type in coumarin as suggested to explain its dipole moment.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with the solution of a specific hypercube queueing model. It extends the work that was described in a related paper by Atkinson et al. [Atkinson, J.B., Kovalenko, I.N., Kuznetsov, N., Mykhalevych, K.V., 2006. Heuristic methods for the analysis of a queuing system describing emergency medical services deployed along a highway. Cybernetics & Systems Analysis, 42, 379–391], which investigated a model for deploying emergency services along a highway. The model is based on the servicing of customer demands that arise in a number of distinct geographical zones, or atoms. Service is provided by servers that are positioned at a number of bases, each having a fixed geographical location along the highway. At each base a single server is available. Demands arising in any atom have a first-preference base and a second-preference base. If the first-preference base is busy, service is provided by the second-preference base; and, if both bases are busy, the demand is lost. In practice, because of differences in travel times from the first and second-preference bases to the atom in question, the service rate may be significantly different in the two cases. The model studied here allows for such customer-dependent service rates to occur, and the corresponding hypercube model has 3n states, where n is the number of bases. The computational intractability of this model means that exact solutions for the long-run proportion of lost demands (ploss) can be obtained only for small values of n. In this paper, we propose two heuristic methods and a simulation approach for approximating ploss. The heuristics are shown to produce very accurate estimates of ploss.  相似文献

Variable selection is recognized as one of the most critical steps in statistical modeling. The problems encountered in engineering and social sciences are commonly characterized by over-abundance of explanatory variables, nonlinearities, and unknown interdependencies between the regressors. An added difficulty is that the analysts may have little or no prior knowledge on the relative importance of the variables. To provide a robust method for model selection, this article introduces the multiobjective genetic algorithm for variable selection (MOGA-VS) that provides the user with an optimal set of regression models for a given dataset. The algorithm considers the regression problem as a two objective task, and explores the Pareto-optimal (best subset) models by preferring those models over the other which have less number of regression coefficients and better goodness of fit. The model exploration can be performed based on in-sample or generalization error minimization. The model selection is proposed to be performed in two steps. First, we generate the frontier of Pareto-optimal regression models by eliminating the dominated models without any user intervention. Second, a decision-making process is executed which allows the user to choose the most preferred model using visualizations and simple metrics. The method has been evaluated on a recently published real dataset on Communities and Crime Within the United States.  相似文献

Using a similarity transformation that maps the Calogero model into N decoupled quantum harmonic oscillators, we construct a set of mutually commuting conserved operators of the model and their simultaneous eigenfunctions.The simultaneous eigenfunction is a deformation of the symmetrized number state (bosonic state) and forms an orthogonal basis of the Hilbert (Fock) space of the model. This orthogonal basis is different from the known one that is a variant of the Jack polynomial, i.e., the Hi-Jack polynomial. This fact shows that the conserved operators derived by the similarity transformation and those derived by the Dunkl operator formulation do not commute. Thus we conclude that the Calogero model has two, algebraically inequivalent sets of mutually commuting conserved operators, as is the case with the hydrogen atom. We also confirm the same story for the BN-Calogero model.  相似文献
