The reaction of tris(2-bromoethyl)amine hydrobromide with sugar thiols or thioacetates leads to the formation of novel carbohydrate substituted tripodal NS3 ligands. Complexation with silver(I) ions gives stable complexes. NMR, X-ray, MS and EXAFS studies indicate their mononuclear C3-symmetric structure. The highly water soluble complexes formed from the unprotected ligands show a wide spectrum of effective antimicrobial activities and their use lowers the cytotoxic and antiproliferative activities compared to the free silver salts.  相似文献

Four Ag(I) complexes, [Ag(L1)2](NO3) (1), [Ag(L2)(NO3)] (2), [Ag(L3)3](NO3) (3), and [Ag(L4)2](NO3) (4), with ligands derived from halo-containing cyanoanilines (L1 = 4-amino-3fluorobenzonitrile, L2 = 4-amino-3-chlorobenzonitrile, L3 = 4-amino-3-bromobenzonitrile, L4 = 4-amino-2-bromobenzonitrile) were synthesized and characterized by C, H, and N elemental analysis, IR and 1H NMR spectroscopy and single crystal X-ray diffraction. Complexes 14 crystallized in the triclinic space group C2/c, P2(1)/n, P-1 and C2/c, respectively. In 1 and 4, Ag+ is four-coordinate with L1 or L4 to form 1-D {[Ag(L1/L4)2]+} polymeric cations. In 2, Ag+ is three-coordinate by two L2 ligands and one NO3? ligand to form a 1-D {[Ag(L2)(NO3)]} zigzag chain. In 3, Ag+ is four-coordinate by L3 to form a dinuclear [Ag(L3)3]+ cation. The NO3? is a 4-connector bridging group in 1 and 3 and a 5-connector bridging group in 2 and 4. The intermolecular hydrogen bonds and Ag?O weak interactions play important roles in forming 3-D networks of 14. The antibacterial activities for 14 were evaluated against Bacillus subtilis, Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli with MTT method. The antibacterial results indicated that 2 showed the best inhibitory activity against the test bacterial strains, and was as potent as chloramphenicol.  相似文献

Six linear, two-coordinate cationic Au(I) N-heterocyclic carbene complexes of the form [(R2Im)2Au]+ (R = Me 1, Me, Et 2, i-Pr 3, n-Bu 4, t-Bu 5 and Cy 6) have been prepared by the reaction of two equivalents of the appropriate dialkylimidazol-2-ylidene (R2Im) with (Me2S)AuCl in dmf. Single crystal structural studies for 1.PF6, 2.PF6), 3.Cl and 4-6.PF6 show that for all six complexes the gold(I) centres have quasi-linear C-Au-C coordination, with quasi-parallel pairs of aromatic imidazole planes, except in 5.PF6 where they are quasi-normal; in the latter, Au-C are 2.038(3), 2.033(3) A, cf. (e.g.) 2.027(2) A. Inter-cation Au...Au are close at 3.487(2), 3.525(2) A in 1PF6 and 2.PF6. The structural studies and low temperature NMR experiments provide no supportive evidence for the presence of pi back-bonding within this series of complexes. The lipophilicities of the six compounds, as estimated from the logarithm of the n-octanol-water partition coefficients (log P), varied across the series within the range -1.09 to 1.73. To investigate their potential as possible anti-mitochondrial anti-tumour agents, five of the compounds have been evaluated for their propensities to induce mitochondrial membrane permeabilization (MMP) in isolated rat liver mitochondria. At concentrations between 1-10 microM compounds 1.Br and 3-6.Cl induced dose-dependent, Ca2+-sensitive mitochondrial swelling at rates that increased with the lipophilicities of the complexes, with the most lipophilic compounds inducing the most rapid onset of swelling. The swelling was completely inhibited by cyclosporin A, the specific inhibitor of the mitochondrial permeability transition pore.  相似文献

Reaction between CdX2 and 1-alkyl-2-(phenylazo)imidazole (RaaiR') has isolated complexes of composition Cd(RaaiR')2X2 in MeOH or MeCN. Crystallization of Cd(RaaiR')2I2 from N,N-dimethylformamide (DMF) has separated [Cd(RaaiR')I2.DMF], while Cd(RaaiR')2X2 (X = Cl and Br) remains unchanged in its composition upon crystallization under identical conditions. The structure has been established by spectral (UV-vis and 1H NMR) data and confirmation in the latter case by a single-crystal X-ray diffraction study of [Cd(TaiMe)I2.DMF] [where TaiMe = 1-methyl-2-(p-tolylazo)imidazole]. UV-light irradiation in a MeCN solution of Cd(RaaiR')2I2 and [Cd(RaaiR')I2.DMF] shows trans-to-cis isomerization of coordinated azoimidazole. The reverse transformation, cis-to-trans, is very slow with visible light irradiation. Quantum yields (phit-->c) of trans-to-cis isomerization are calculated, and the free ligand shows higher phi values than their cadmium(II) iodo complexes. The cis-to-trans isomerization is a thermally induced process. The activation energy (Ea) of cis-to-trans isomerization is calculated by a controlled-temperature experiment. The effects of the anions (Cl-, Br-, I-, and ClO4-) and the number of coordinated azoimidazoles (RaaiR') [Cd(RaaiR') or Cd(RaaiR')2] on the rate and quantum yields of photochromism are established in this work. A slow rate of photoisomerization of [Cd(RaaiR')4](ClO4)2 compared to Cd(RaaiR')I2 or Cd(RaaiR')2X2 may be associated with the increased mass and rotor volume of the complexes. The rate of isomerization is also dependent on the nature of X and follows the sequence Cd(RaaiR')2Cl2 < Cd(RaaiR')2Br2 < Cd(RaaiR')2I2. It may be related to the size and electronegativity of halide, which reduces the effective molar association in the order of I < Br < Cl and hence the rate. Gaussian 03 calculations of representative complexes and free ligands are used to explain the difference in the rates and quantum yields of photoisomerization.  相似文献

Deprotonation of the phosphine complexes Au(PHR(2))Cl with aqueous ammonia gave the gold(I) phosphido complexes [Au(PR(2))](n)() (PR(2) = PMes(2) (1), PCy(2) (2), P(t-Bu)(2) (3), PIs(2) (4), PPhMes (5), PHMes (6); Mes = 2,4,6-Me(3)C(6)H(2), Is = 2,4,6-(i-Pr)(3)C(6)H(2), Mes = 2,4,6-(t-Bu)(3)C(6)H(2), Cy = cyclo-C(6)H(11)). (31)P NMR spectroscopy showed that these complexes exist in solution as mixtures, presumably oligomeric rings of different sizes. X-ray crystallographic structure determinations on single oligomers of 1-4 revealed rings of varying size (n = 4, 6, 6, and 3, respectively) and conformation. Reactions of 1-3 and 5 with PPN[AuCl(2)] gave PPN[(AuCl)(2)(micro-PR(2))] (9-12, PPN = (PPh(3))(2)N(+)). Treatment of 3 with the reagents HI, I(2), ArSH, LiP(t-Bu)(2), and [PH(2)(t-Bu)(2)]BF(4) gave respectively Au(PH(t-Bu)(2))(I) (14), Au(PI(t-Bu)(2))(I) (15), Au(PH(t-Bu)(2))(SAr) (16, Ar = p-t-BuC(6)H(4)), Li[Au(P(t-Bu)(2))(2)] (17), and [Au(PH(t-Bu)(2))(2)]BF(4) (19).  相似文献

Silver(I) pyridinecarboxylates (AgPIC (1), AgNIC (2), [Ag(HDIPIC)]·0.75H2O (3), PIC?=?picolinate, NIC?=?nicotinate, HDIPIC?=?dipicolinate) were prepared by solvothermal syntheses and their characterization were completed by elemental, spectral, and thermal analyses. To assign the pyridinecarboxylate coordination mode in the complexes, detailed mid-infrared spectral data and Δ(νas???νs) comparisons were accomplished. In addition, silver(I) pyridinecarboxylate antimicrobial activities and stability by 1H NMR spectra were determined. Moreover, the spectral, thermal, and antimicrobial properties of silver(I) and previously prepared zinc(II) pyridinecarboxylates were compared and discussed.  相似文献

The di- and triorganotin(IV) derivatives of anthracenecarboxylic acid, Ph2MeSnOC(O)C14H9 (2), Me3SnOC(O)C14H9 (3), Me2Sn[OC(O)C14H9]2 · CH3OH (4) Ph3SnOC(O)C14H9 · CH3OH (5), Ph2EtSnOC(O)C14H9 (6), Ph2Sn[OC(O)(C14H9)]2 (7) and PhMe2SnOC(O)C14H9 (8) were synthesized by the reaction of Ph2MeSnI, Me3SnCl, Me2SnCl2, Ph3SnCl, Ph2EtSnI, Ph2SnCl2, and PhMe2SnI with 9-anthracenecarboxylic acid, respectively, with the aid of potassium iso-propoxide. All complexes were characterized by elemental analysis, mass spectrometry, IR, 1H, 13C and 119Sn NMR spectroscopes. The molecular structures of complexes 2, 3 and 4 were determined by single crystal X-ray analysis. The X-ray structures reveal that complex 2 and 3 adopt a polymeric trans-C3SnO2 trigonal bipyamidal configuration with the oxygen atoms occupying axial positions. Complex 4 adopts a monomeric structure with two carboxylates coordinated to tin in a monodentate form from axial and equatorial positions, and with the coordination number raised to five as the methanol occupies the apical position of the trigonal bipyramid.  相似文献

Silver(I)-imidazole cyclophane gem-diol complex, 3 [Ag2C36 N10(O)4](2+)2(x)-, where x = OH- or CO3(2-), was synthesized and well characterized. The minimum inhibition concentration tests showed that the aqueous form of 3 is 2 times less effective as an antibiotic than 0.5% AgNO3, with about the same amount of silver. The antimicrobial activity of 3 was enhanced when encapsulated into Tecophilic polymer by electrospinning to obtain mats made of nano-fibers. The fiber mats released nanosilver particles, which in turn sustained the antimicrobial activity of the mats over a long period of time. The rate of bactericidal activity of 3 was greatly improved by encapsulation, and the amount of silver used was much reduced. The amount of silver contained in the fiber mat of 3, with 75% of 3 and 25% Tecophilic, was 8 times less than that in 0.5% AgNO3 and 5 times lower than that in silver sulfadiazine cream 1%. The fiber mat was found to kill S. aureus at the same rate as 0.5% AgNO3, with zero colonies on an agar plate, and about 6 times faster than silver sulfadiazine cream. The silver mats were found effective against E. coli, P. aeruginosa, S. aureus, C. albicans, A. niger, and S. cerevisiae. Transmission electron microscopy and scanning electron microscopy were used to characterize the fiber mats. The acute toxicity of the ligand (imidazolium cyclophane gem-diol dichloride) was assessed by intravenous administration to rats, with an LD 50 of 100 mg/kg of rat.  相似文献

Abstract

Two new copper(II) complexes, [Cu(Hhida)(BenzImH)]·H2O (1) and [Cu(Hhida)(EtImH)]·2H2O (2) have been synthesized by the interaction of basic copper carbonate with N-(2-hydroxyethyl)-2-aminodiacetic acid (Hhida2−) and benzimidazole (BenzImH) or (2-ethylimidazole (EtImH)). The structures of both complexes were studied by single crystal X-ray diffraction. The geometry around the copper(II) atom can be best described as distorted square pyramidal as indicated by the value of the trigonal index τ = 0.32 for (1) and 0.21 for (2). Spectroscopic and electrochemical studies were performed in order to correlate structural features of the complexes with their superoxide scavenger activity. The ability of the complexes to scavenge superoxide anions was also evaluated.  相似文献

The self-assembled [Ag (PTDM)NO3] ( 1 ), [Ag (PTDM)2(H2O)]ClO4.H2O ( 2 ) and [Ag5(PTDM)4(H2O)6(ClO4)4]ClO4.2H2O ( 3 ) complexes were synthesized by the direct mixing of AgX (X = NO3¯ or ClO4¯) and 4,4′-[6-(3,5-dimethyl-1H-pyrazol-1-yl)-1,3,5-triazine-2,4-diyl]dimorpholine ( PTDM ) ligand in water–methanol mixture. The coordination numbers of silver range from three to five. Complex 3 is a rare case in which one nitrogen atom from the same s-triazine core of the PTDM ligand has a μ(1,1) bridging mode between Ag1 and Ag2 in the penta-nuclear array with Ag1–N1 and Ag2–N1 distances of 2.666(4) and 2.418(3) Å, respectively. Its 3D topology has a kind of primitive dense packing derived from the α-Po type structure. Hirshfeld analysis showed that the percentages of the OH hydrogen bonds were 32.4, 25.4, and 42.0% in complexes 1 – 3 , respectively. While the ligand showed no antimicrobial activity at the applicable concentration, the penta-nuclear complex 3 had higher antibacterial (MIC = 3.7 μmol/L) and antifungal (14.6 μmol/L) potencies toward the tested microbes compared with complexes 1 and 2 . Also, the killing doses of 3 were in the range of 7.3–58.5 μmol/L compared with 18.2–291.1 and 20.1–160.6 μmol/L for 1 and 2 , respectively. It is clear that the higher Ag-content in 3 could be the main reason for its higher antimicrobial activity.  相似文献

AgI complexes of thiourea (tu) having the general formula Ag(tu) x NO3 (x = 1–4) have been prepared and characterized by elemental analyses, i.r. and n.m.r. (1H, 13C, 15N and 107Ag) spectroscopy. Separate i.r. bands were observed for terminal and bridging tu ligands in the complexes. The Ag(tu)NO3 complex is assumed to be polymeric with all tu groups in the bridging mode. A consistent upfield shift in the 13C-n.m.r. chemical shift is observed as the number of tu groups attached to AgI increases, whereas the opposite trend is observed for 1H, 15N and 107Ag chemical shifts.  相似文献

In this paper we discuss the preparation and comparative evaluation of silver (I) [Ag(I)] nonwoven and woven antimicrobial barrier fabrics generated from commercial calcium‐sodium alginates and laboratory prepared sodium carboxymethyl (CM) cotton nonwovens and CM‐cotton printcloth for potential use as wound dressings. Degrees of CM substitution (DS) in cotton nonwoven and printcloth samples by titrimetry were 0.38 and 0.10, respectively. Coordination of Ag(I) with carboxylates on fabrics was effected by ion exchange and nitrates were removed by washing to mitigate nitrate ion toxicity issues. Durability of silver coordinated fabrics was tested by soaking them in deionized water with slight agitation at 50°C. Ag(I) alginates and nonwoven Ag(I)‐CM‐cottons lost structural integrity in water. Ag‐CM‐cotton printcloth samples retained structural integrity even after four soak‐and‐dry cycles, were smooth to the touch when dry, and were smoother when moistened. They could be easily peeled from wound surfaces without inducing trauma. Solid‐state carbon‐13 (13C) nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectrometry was used to observe changes in carbonyl resonances in Ag(I) alginates and Ag(I)‐CM‐printcloth, and the chemical shift positions of carbonyl resonances of uncoordinated and Ag(I) coordinated fabrics did not change. Inductively coupled plasma‐mass spectrometry (ICP‐MS) was used following fabric digestion to determine the total Ag(I) ion content in fabrics. Ag(I) alginates were found to hold about 10–50 mg Ag(I) per gram fabric; and Ag(I) cotton woven and nonwoven fabrics held about 5–10 mg Ag(I) ions per gram fabric. Kinetic release of Ag(I) after soaking once in physiological saline was studied with ICP‐MS to estimate the availability of Ag(I) upon a single exchange with Na(I) ions on wound surfaces. Alginates released between ~13 and 28% of coordinated Ag(I), and CM‐cotton nonwovens and CM‐cotton printcloth released ~14 and 3% of coordinated Ag(I) ions, respectively. Finally, Ag(I) alginates and Ag(I)‐CM‐cotton printcloth samples were evaluated against Gram‐positive Staphylococcus aureus and Gram‐negative Klebsiella pneumoniae. Ag(I) alginates suppressed 99.95% of bacterial growth in vitro. Even after four soak‐and‐dry cycles in deionized water Ag(I)‐CM‐cotton printcloth suppressed 99.99% of bacterial growth in vitro. By using the closed-shell SCF-MO method with the CNDO type approximation for all valence electron systems, the electronic structures of some Ag+-olefin complexes are investigated. The calculated values of -H increase with the increasing number of methyl groups on the double bond and this trend agrees with the experimental result. Also calculation reproduces many experimental results, such as the infrared, Raman, and13C NMR spectra. These experimental results are discussed on the basis of the calculated electronic structures of Ag+-olefin complexes.  相似文献

Two Schiff base ligands bearing organic acid moiety, vis., N-(2-thienylmethylidene)-2-amino-4-chlorobenzoic acid (HL(1)) and N-(2-hydroxybenzylidene)-2-amino-4-chlorobenzoic acid (H(2)L(2)) have been synthesized by the interaction of 2-thiophenecarboxaldehyde and 2-hydroxybenzaldehyde with 2-amino-4-chlorobenzoic acid. Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II) complexes of these ligands have been prepared. They are characterized on the basis of analytical data, molar conductance, IR, (1)H NMR, UV-vis, mass spectra, magnetic measurements, thermal analysis and X-ray powder diffraction technique. The molar conductance data reveal that these complexes are non-electrolytes. The ligands are coordinated to the metal ions in a terdentate manner with ONO/ONS donor sites of the carbonyl oxygen, azomethine nitrogen and phenolic oxygen or thiophenic sulphur. An octahedral structure is proposed for the prepared metal complexes and some ligand field parameters (D(q), B and beta) in addition to CFSE were calculated. The thermal stability of the metal complexes is evaluated. The Schiff base ligands and their metal complexes have been tested against four species of bacteria as well as four species of fungi and the results have been compared with some known antibiotics.  相似文献

A tridentate NNO donor hydrazine Schiff base, HL, was obtained from condensation of pyridine 2-carbaldehyde and 4-hydroxy benzohydrazide. HL and azide ligands with Cr(III), Mn(II) and Fe(III) have been used to synthesize [Cr(L)(N3)(OCH3)]2 (1), [Mn(HL)2(N3)2] (2), and [Fe(L)(N3)(OCH3)]2·H2O (3). HL is quite diverse in its chelating ability and can be a neutral or monoanionic ligand as a tridentate unit. In this paper, we report structures showing different denticities of the ligand having different charges. The ligand 13 was characterized by elemental analysis, FT-IR, and UV–vis spectral studies and solid-state structures were determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis, revealing that 1 and 3 are binuclear, while 2 is mononuclear. The efficiencies of the ligand and the three complexes were evaluated for antimicrobial activity; MIC data revealed that HL 13 are not strongly active in comparison to standard drugs.  相似文献

Antimony(V) and bismuth(V) complexes of lapachol have been synthesized by the reaction of Ph?SbCl? or Ph?BiCl? with lapachol (Lp) and characterized by several physicochemical techniques such as IR, and NMR spectroscopy and X-ray crystallography. The compounds contain six-coordinated antimony and bismuth atoms. The antimony(V) complex is a monomeric derivative, (Lp)(Ph?Sb)OH, and the bismuth(V) complex is a dinuclear compound bridged by an oxygen atom, (Lp)?(Ph?Bi)?O. Both compounds inhibited the growth of a chronic myelogenous leukemia cell line and the complex of Bi(V) was about five times more active than free lapachol. This work provides a rare example of an organo-Bi(V) complex showing significant cytotoxic activity.  相似文献
