A solid-phase microextraction (SPME) method for the determination of five amphetamine type stimulants (ATSs) in water and urine samples is presented. Analytes were simultaneously derivatized with iso-butyl chloroformate (iBCF) in the aqueous sample while being extracted, improving in this way the extractability of ATSs and permitting their determination by gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (GC–MS). The SPME procedure was carefully optimized in order to achieve adequate limits of detection (LODs) for environmental concentrations. Hence, different operational parameters were considered: type of SPME coating, ionic strength, basic catalyzer and derivatizing agent amount, extraction time and temperature. The final SPME procedure consists into the extraction of 100 mL of sample containing 2 g of dipotassium monohydrogen phosphate trihydrate and 100 μL of iBCF (1:1 in acetonitrile), for 40 min at 60 °C with a polydimethylsiloxane-divinylbenzene (PDMS-DVB) fiber. Under these conditions, LODs in wastewater ranged from 0.4 to 2 ng L−1, relative recoveries in the 84–114% range and relative standard deviations (RSD) lower than 15% were obtained. The application of the method to wastewater and river water samples showed the ecstasy ATS, 3,4-methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA), as the most frequently detected, followed by methamphetamine, in concentrations around 20 ng L−1. Finally, the method was downscaled and also validated with urine samples, proving its good performance with this matrix too: RSD < 11%, recoveries in the 98–110% range and LODs lower than 0.1 μg L−1.  相似文献

Liquid chromatography (LC)/tandem mass spectrometry (MS/MS) after supramolecular solvent-based microextraction (SUSME) was firstly used in this work for the enantioselective determination of chiral pesticides in natural waters. The method developed for the quantitation of the R- and S-enantiomers of mecoprop (MCPP) and dichlorprop (DCPP) involved the extraction of the herbicides in a supramolecular solvent (SUPRAS) made up of reverse aggregates of dodecanoic acid (DoA), analyte re-extraction in acetate buffer (pH = 5.0), separation of the target enantiomers on a chiral column of permethylated α-cyclodextrin under isocratic conditions, and detection of the daughter ions (m/z = 140.9 and 160.6 for MCPP and DCPP, respectively) using a hybrid triple quadrupole mass spectrometer equipped with an electrospray source operating in the negative ion mode. Similar recoveries (ca. 75%) and actual concentration factors (ca. 94) were obtained for both phenoxypropanoic acids (PPAs). The quantitation limits were 1 ng L−1 for R- and S-MCPP, and 4 ng L−1 for R- and S-DCPP, and the precision, expressed as relative standard deviation (n = 6) was in the ranges 2.4–2.7% ([R-MCPP] = [S-MCPP] = 5 ng L−1 and [R-DCPP] = [S-DCPP] = 15 ng L−1) and 1.6–1.8% (100 ng L−1 of each enantiomer). The SUSME-LC–MS/MS method was successfully applied to the determination of the enantiomers of MCPP and DCPP in river and underground waters, fortified at concentrations between 15 and 180 ng L−1 at variable enantiomeric ratios (ER = 1–9).  相似文献

Matrix interference removal is an important step when large volumes of aqueous samples are required to be processed to detect trace levels of analytes. A combination of two sample extraction methods has been used in this work with the aim of cleanup and preconcentration of analytes. For first objective, mild but preferential sorption of a range of analytes has been performed with in-tube solid-phase microextraction (SPME) using polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) tubing, and for the second, the eluate from in-tube SPME was subjected to on-fibre SPME using DVB/Caboxen/PDMS (30/50 μm) fibre. Knitting of PTFE tubing created secondary flow pattern that enhanced radial diffusion and retention of organic analytes. Up to 2 mg L−1 of a broad range of substances that are not extracted by PTFE include nitrogen containing aromatic heterocyclic compounds, anilines, phenols and certain organophosphorus pesticides, thus providing a clean extract using this method of sample preparation. The proposed combination of in-tube and on-fibre SPME produced a rectilinear calibration graph over 0.03-150 μg L−1 of a range of analytes using 60 mL of aqueous sample. The overall recovery of analytes was in the range 27-78%. The detection limits were between 6.1 and 21.8 ng L−1. The R.S.D. was in range 5.4-8.2% and 4.2-6.5% in the analysis of respectively 2 and 20 μg L−1 of analytes.  相似文献

Dispersive solid-phase extraction (DSPE) combined with dispersive liquid–liquid microextraction (DLLME) has been developed as a new approach for the extraction of four sulfonylurea herbicides (metsulfuron-methyl, chlorsulfuron, bensulfuron-methyl and chlorimuron-ethyl) in soil prior to high-performance liquid chromatography with diode array detection (HPLC-DAD). In the DSPE-DLLME, sulfonylurea herbicides were first extracted from soil sample into acetone–0.15 mol L−1 NaHCO3 (2:8, v/v). The clean-up of the extract by DSPE was carried out by directly adding C18 sorbent into the extract solution, followed by shaking and filtration. After the pH of the filtrate was adjusted to 2.0 with 2 mol L−1 HCl, 60.0 μL chlorobenzene (as extraction solvent) was added into 5.0 mL of it for DLLME procedure (the acetone contained in the solution also acted as dispersive solvent). Under the optimum conditions, the enrichment factors for the compounds were in the range between 102 and 216. The linearity of the method was in the range from 5.0 to 200 ng g−1 with the correlation coefficients (r) ranging from 0.9967 to 0.9987. The method detection limits were 0.5–1.2 ng g−1. The relative standard deviations varied from 5.2% to 7.2% (n = 5). The relative recoveries of the four sulfonylurea herbicides from soil samples at spiking levels of 6.0, 20.0 and 60.0 ng g−1 were in the range between 76.3% and 92.5%. The proposed method has been successfully applied to the analysis of the four target sulfonylurea herbicides in soil samples, and a satisfactory result was obtained.  相似文献

The paper presents a new HPLC method, with UV and MSn detection, for the determination of seven pesticides, including the sulfonylurea herbicides amidosulfuron, azimsulfuron, nicosulfuron, rimsulfuron, thifensulfuron methyl, tribenuron methyl, and the fungicide azoxystrobin characterised by a methoxyacrilate structure. The methodology consists of a preconcentration/SPE (solid phase extraction) step and HPLC-UV (240 nm detection wavelength)-MSn analysis. Under the optimised conditions and after a 1000/1 preconcentration factor, the limits of detection were lower than 14.5 ng L−1 for UV detection and lower than 8.1 ng L−1 for MS detection. The limits of quantification were lower than 48.3 ng L−1 in UV detection and than 26.9 ng L−1 in MSn detection. The analysis of two samples, spiked with a mixture of the pesticides at threshold level concentrations, gave more than 60% recovery.  相似文献

There has been considerable public interest and a growing number of scientific studies linking certain phenolic compounds in grapes and wines, particularly trans-resveratrol (trans-3,5,4′-trihydroxystilbene, TRA), to human health benefits. Typical TRA concentrations in wine are very low. It is a polar compound with very low volatility, which makes it difficult to extract and to separate on a gas chromatography (GC) column without derivatization. In this study, a new method for trace analysis of TRA was developed using solid-phase microextraction (SPME) with on-fiber silylation derivatization. Multidimensional GC equipped with a heartcut valve and cryogenic focusing was coupled with a mass-selective detector and used for improved separations and analysis. The effects of SPME fiber selection, extraction time, temperature, and desorption time were investigated. The derivatization conditions, time/temperature and the volume of derivatization reagent were also optimized. The calibration curve was linear over the concentration range from 10 ng L−1 to 5 mg L−1, with a correlation coefficient of 0.9996. The average recovery of TRA in red wine was 83.6 ± 5.6%. The method detection limit (MDL) for TRA in ethanol:water (12.5:87.5, v/v) solution in this study was 7.08 ng L−1 whereas the MDL for TRA in pure water was 2.85 ng L−1. The new method was used to test the TRA content in six selected Iowa red wine samples. Measured concentrations varied from 12.72 to 851.9 μg L−1.  相似文献

A rapid, simple, and sensitive headspace solid phase microextraction coupled to ion mobility spectrometry (HS-SPME-IMS) method is presented for analysis of the highly specific angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor, captopril (CAP). Positive ion mobility spectra of CAP were acquired with an ion mobility spectrometer equipped with a corona discharge ionization source. Mass-to-mobility correlation equation was used to identify product ions. A dodecylsulfate-doped polypyrrole (PPy-DS) coating was used as a fiber for SPME. The results showed that PPy-DS based SPME fiber was suitable for successfully extracting CAP from human blood plasma and pharmaceutical samples. The HS-SPME-IMS method provided good repeatability (R.S.D.s < 4%) for aqueous and spiked plasma samples. The calibration graphs were linear in the range of 10-300 ng mL−1 (R2 > 0.99) and detection limits were 7.5 ng mL−1 for aqueous and 6.3 ng mL−1 for plasma blank samples. Finally, a standard addition calibration method was applied to HS-SPME-IMS technique for the analysis of blood plasma samples and tablets. Purpose method seemed to be suitable for the analysis of CAP in plasma samples as it is not time consuming (state total time from sample preparation to analysis), it required only small quantities of the sample, and no derivatization was required.  相似文献

A new procedure was described with multiwalled carbon nanotubes as solid phase extraction packing material for the trace analysis of nicosulfuron, thifensulfuron and metsulfuron-methyl in water samples. The possible parameters influencing the enrichment were optimized and the optimal conditions were as followed: eluent, sample pH, flow rate and sample volume were acetonitrile containing 1% acetic acid, pH 3, 8 mL min−1 and 500 mL, respectively. Under the optimal chromatographic separation and SPE conditions, the linear range, detection limit (S/N = 3) and precision (R.S.D., n = 6) were 0.04-40 ng mL−1, 6.8 ng L−1 and 2.5% for nicosulfuron, 0.04-40 ng mL−1, 11.2 ng L−1 and 5.4% for thifensulfuron, 0.02-20 ng mL−1, 5.9 ng L−1, 2.1% for metsulfuron-methyl, respectively. The established method was well employed to determine nicosulfuron, thifensulfuron and metsulfuron-methyl in tap water, seawater, reservoir water and well water samples, and satisfactory results were obtained, the spiked recoveries in the range of 87.2-100.7%, 96.5-105.6% and 83.7-111.1% for them each, respectively.  相似文献

A simple and efficient binary solvent-based two-phase hollow fiber membrane (HFM)-protected liquid-phase microextraction (BN-LPME) technique for moderately polar compounds was developed. Six organophosphorous pesticides (OPPs) (triethylphosphorothioate, thionazin, sulfotep, phorate, disulfoton, methyl parathion and ethyl parathion) were used as model compounds and extracted from 10-mL wastewater with a binary-solvent (toluene:hexane, 1:1) mixture. Some important extraction parameters, such as extraction time, effect of salt, sample pH and solvent ratio composition were optimized. BN-LPME combined with gas chromatography/mass spectrometric (GC/MS) analysis provided repeatability (R.S.D.s ≤ 12%, n = 4), and linearity (r ≤ 0.994) and solid-phase microextraction provides comparable of R.S.D.s ≤ 13%, n = 4 and linearity (r = ≤0.966) for spiked water samples. The limits of detection (LODs) were in the range of 0.3-11.4 ng L−1 for BN-LPME and 3.1-120.5 ng L−1 for SPME at (S/N = 3) under GC/MS selective ion monitoring mode. In addition to high enrichment, BN-LPME also served as a sample cleanup procedure, with the HFM act as a filtering medium to prevent large particles and extraneous materials from being extracted. To investigate and compare their applicability, the BN-LPME and SPME procedures were applied to the detection of OPPs in domestic wastewater samples.  相似文献

The sensitive multiresidual analytical method for simultaneous analysis of 14 most commonly used agricultural pesticides in Serbia was developed and optimized. The selected insecticides, fungicides and herbicides belong to seven chemical classes (organophosphates, neonicotinoids, carbamates, diacylhydrazines, benzimidazoles, triazines and phenylureas). The method was based on solid-phase extraction followed by liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry. The following parameters that may affect the SPE procedure efficiency were optimized: the sorbent type in combination with different elution solvents, the sample pH and the sample volume. For each pesticide, MSn analysis was performed and distinctive ions and transitions were selected for identification and quantification, as well as for confirmation purposes. External matrix-matched calibration method was used to eliminate variable matrix effect and ensure precise quantification. Good recoveries (72-129%), and low limits of detection (0.4-5.5 ng L−1) and quantification (1.1-18.2 ng L−1) were achieved for all selected pesticides. The developed and optimized method was successfully applied in the analysis of several river waters, as well as ground waters in Serbia, influenced by agriculture. The most frequently detected pesticide was carbendazim. Dimethoate, carbofuran and propazine were also found in the investigated samples.  相似文献

Methyl tert-butyl ether (MTBE), ethyl tert-butyl ether (ETBE) and tert-amyl methyl ether (TAME) are oxygenated compounds added to gasoline to enhance octane rating and to improve combustion. They may be found as pollutants of living and working environments. In this work a robotized method for the quantification of low level MTBE, ETBE and TAME in human urine was developed and validated. The analytes were sampled in the headspace of urine by SPME in the presence of MTBE-d12 as internal standard. Different fibers were compared for their linearity and extraction efficiency: carboxen/polydimethylsiloxane, polydimethylsiloxane/divinylbenzene, and polydimethylsiloxane. The first, although highly efficient, was discarded due to deviation of linearity for competitive displacement, and the polydimethylsiloxane/divinylbenzene fiber was chosen instead. The analysis was performed by GC/MS operating in the electron impact mode. The method is very specific, with range of linearity 30-4600 ng L−1, within- and between-run precision, as coefficient of variation, <22 and <16%, accuracy within 20% the theoretical level, and limit of detection of 6 ng L−1 for all the analytes. The influence of the matrix on the quantification of these ethers was evaluated analysing the specimens of seven traffic policemen exposed to autovehicular emissions: using the calibration curve and the method of standard additions comparable levels of MTBE (68-528 ng L−1), ETBE (<6 ng L−1), and TAME (<6 ng L−1) were obtained.  相似文献

In this paper, bamboo charcoals were modified using Fe3O4 nanosheets for the first time. The composites, as a novel solid-phase microextraction (SPME) fiber coating, were used for the extraction of seven polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs) in environmental water samples. The extraction factors (stirring rate, extraction time, and ionic strength) and desorption factors (desorption time and desorption temperature) of the fibers were systematically investigated and optimized. Under optimum conditions, the linear range was 1–1000 ng L−1. Based on the ratio of chromatographic signal to base line noise (S N−1 = 3), the limits of detection (LODs) can reach 0.25–0.62 ng L−1. The novel method was successful in the analysis of PBDEs in real environmental water samples. The results indicate that bamboo charcoal/Fe3O4 as an SPME coating material coupled with gas chromatography–negative chemical ionization-mass spectrometry is an excellent method for the routine analysis of PBDEs at trace levels in environmental water samples.  相似文献

In this work, the determination of total As in seawater by hydride generation atomic fluorescence spectrometry was studied. The influence of the chemical, flow and instrumental parameters were investigated and optimized. The pre-reduction of As(V) to As(III) was performed using KI plus ascorbic acid in 3.5 mol L− 1 HCl medium. No multiplicative interference was present and external aqueous calibration could be used. The limit of detection was 36 ng L− 1, while the repeatability was 2% (n = 10), at a 500 ng L− 1 concentration level. The sample throughput was 15 h− 1 if triplicate measurements were made. The accuracy was assessed by the analysis of a seawater certified reference material and excellent agreement between the obtained and certified values was verified. The procedure was used for the analysis of seawater offshore samples collected at the Brazilian coast and results ranging from 860 to 1200 ng L− 1 were found.  相似文献

Nanostructured titania-based solid-phase microextraction (SPME) fibers were fabricated through the in situ oxidation of titanium wires with H2O2 (30%, w/w) at 80 °C for 24 h. The obtained SPME fibers possess a ∼1.2 μm thick nanostructured coating consisting of ∼100 nm titania walls and 100-200 nm pores. The use of these fibers for headspace SPME coupled with gas chromatography with electron capture detection (GC-ECD) resulted in improved analysis of dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane (DDT) and its degradation products. The presented method to detect DDT and its degradation products has high sensitivity (0.20-0.98 ng L−1), high precision (relative standard deviation R.S.D. = 9.4-16%, n = 5), a wide linear range (5-5000 ng L−1), and good linearity (coefficient of estimation R2 = 0.991-0.998). As the nanostructured titania was in situ formed on the surface of a titanium wire, the coating was uniformly and strongly adhered on the titanium wire. Because of the inherent chemical stability of the titania coating and the mechanical durability of the titanium wire substrate, this new SPME fiber exhibited long life span (over 150 times).  相似文献

Inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) is a suitable tool for multi-element analysis at low concentration levels. Rare earth element (REE) determinations in standard reference materials and small volumes of molten ice core samples from Antarctica have been performed with an ICP-time of flight-MS (ICP-TOF-MS) system. Recovery rates for REE in e.g. SPS-SW1 amounted to ∼103%, and the relative standard deviations were 3.4% for replicate analysis at REE concentrations in the lower ng L−1 range. Analyses of REE concentrations in Antarctic ice core samples showed that the ICP-TOF-MS technique meets the demands of restricted sample mass. The data obtained are in good agreement with ICP-Quadrupole-MS (ICP-Q-MS) and ICP-Sector Field-MS (ICP-SF-MS) results. The ICP-TOF-MS system determines accurately and precisely REE concentrations exceeding 5 ng L−1 while between 0.5 and 5 ng L−1 accuracy and precision are element dependent.  相似文献

Atrazine is a triazine herbicide which contains two secondary aliphatic amine groups. Previous studies have shown that aliphatic amines react with tris(2,2′-bipyridyl)ruthenium(III) to produce chemiluminescence. This paper describes the application of tris(2,2′-bipyridyl)ruthenium(III) to the detection of atrazine and related triazine herbicides in water by flow injection chemiluminescence analysis. The optimised experimental conditions were determined to be: sample and carrier flow rates of 4.6 mL min−1, sample at pH 9 buffered with 50 mM borax, and reagent concentration of 1 mM tris(2,2′-bipyridyl)ruthenium(III) in 20 mM H2SO4 (pH 1). Under these conditions, the logarithm of the chemiluminescence intensity versus concentration was linear in the range of 2.15-2150 μg L−1 for samples in MilliQ water, and the limit of detection of atrazine in water was determined to be 1.3 ± 0.1 μg L−1. Validation of the method was performed using direct injection HPLC. The presence of natural organic matter (NOM) significantly increased the chemiluminescence, masking the signal generated by atrazine. Isolating the target analyte via solid phase extraction (SPE) prior to analysis removed this interference and concentrated the samples, resulting in a greatly improved sensitivity with a detection limit of 14 ± 2 ng L−1.  相似文献

A novel solid phase microextraction (SPME) fiber was fabricated by electrospinning method in which a polymeric solution was converted to nanofibers using high voltages. A thin stainless steel wire was coated by the network of polymeric nanofibers. The polymeric nanofiber coating on the wire was mechanically stable due to the fine and continuous nanofibers formation around the wire with a three dimensional structure. Polyamide (nylon 6), due to its suitable characteristics was used to prepare the unbreakable SPME nanofiber. The scanning electron microscopy (SEM) images of this new coating showed a diameter range of 100–200 nm for polyamide nanofibers with a homogeneous and porous surface structure. The extraction efficiency of new coating was investigated for headspace solid-phase microextraction (HS-SPME) of some environmentally important chlorophenols from aqueous samples followed by gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (GC–MS) analysis. Effect of different parameters influencing the extraction efficiency including extraction temperature, extraction time, ionic strength and polyamide amount were investigated and optimized. In order to improve the chromatographic behavior of phenolic compounds, all the analytes were derivatized prior to the extraction process using basic acetic anhydride. The detection limits of the method under optimized conditions were in the range of 2–10 ng L−1. The relative standard deviations (RSD) (n = 3) at the concentration level of 1.7–6.7 ng mL−1 were obtained between 1 and 7.4%. The calibration curves of chlorophenols showed linearity in the range of 27–1330 ng L−1 for phenol and monochlorophenols and 7–1000 ng L−1 for dichloro and trichlorophenols. Also, the proposed method was successfully applied to the extraction of phenol and chlorophenols from real water samples and relative recoveries were between 84 and 98% for all the selected analytes except for 2,4,6 tricholophenol which was between 72 and 74%.  相似文献

Solid-phase extraction (SPE) followed by derivatization and gas chromatography-atomic emission detection (GC-AED) was evaluated for the determination of five chlorophenols (CPs) in water samples. The derivatization was based on the esterification of phenolic compounds with ferrocenecarboxylic acid. The determination of the derivatized phenols was performed by GC-AED in the iron selective detection mode at 302 nm. The described method was tested on spiked water samples. The overall method gave detection limits of 1.6-3.7 ng L−1 and recoveries of 90.9-104.5% for the examined mono- to trichlorophenols in 10 mL water samples. The CPs extracted from a 10 mL water sample with SPE were concentrated into 100 μL of organic solvent, a preconcentration factor of 100. The method was applied to lake and tap water samples, and CP contents between 6 and 51 ng L−1 in lake water and between below the detection limit and 8 ng L−1 in tap water were found for different CPs. The method is quick, simple and gives excellent recoveries, limits of detection and standard deviations.  相似文献

In this work, we report the development and validation of an analytical method for the trace level determination of 14 selected (EU-directive) priority organic pollutants (namely, 1,2,3-trichlorobenzene (1,2,3-TCB), 1,2,4-trichlorobenzene, 1,3,5-trichlorobenzene, hexachloro-1,3-butadiene, pentachlorobenzene, hexachlorobenzene, alachlor, α-hexachloro-cyclohexane (α-HCH), β-HCH, γ-HCH (lindane), δ-HCH, tetra-brominated diphenyl ether (tetra-BDE), penta-brominated diphenyl ether and hepta-brominated diphenyl ether) in wastewater samples from 5 different sewage treatment plants (STPs) located in Spain. The proposed methodology is based on liquid-liquid extraction with n-hexane followed by identification and confirmation of the selected pollutants by gas chromatography high-resolution mass spectrometry in selected ion recording acquisition mode. Recovery studies performed with spiked wastewater samples at two different concentration levels (0.1 and 1 μg L−1) gave mean recoveries in the range 80-120% (except for trichlorobenzenes, ca. with 50%) with RSD values below 10% in most cases, thus confirming the usefulness of the proposed methodology for the analyses of this kind of complex samples. The obtained detection limits in effluent wastewater matrices were in the low nanogram per liter range, with values as low as 0.09 ng L−1 for tetra-BDE and 0.3 ng L−1 for hexachlorobenzene. Finally, the proposed methodology was successfully applied to a monitoring study intended to characterize wastewater effluents of 5 different sewage treatment plants with different major activities (Industrial, Coastal, Urban). Most of the compounds targeted were detected in the ng L−1 range at concentrations ranging from 0.19 ng L−1 to 135 ng L−1 (hexachlorobenzene).  相似文献

Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) have received great attention as novel sorbents due to their fascinating structures and intriguing potential applications in various fields. In this work, a MIL-101(Cr)-coated solid-phase microextraction (SPME) fiber was fabricated by a simple direct coating method and applied to the determination of volatile compounds (BTEX, benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, m-xylene and o-xylene) and semi-volatile compounds (PAHs, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons) from water samples. The extraction and desorption conditions of headspace SPME (HS-SPME) were optimized. Under the optimized conditions, the established methods exhibited excellent extraction performance. Good precision (<7.7%) and low detection limits (0.32–1.7 ng L−1 and 0.12–2.1 ng L−1 for BTEX and PAHs, respectively) were achieved. In addition, the MIL-101(Cr)-coated fiber possessed good thermal stability, and the fiber can be reused over 150 times. The fiber was successfully applied to the analysis of BTEX and PAHs in river water by coupling with gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (GC–MS). The analytes at low concentrations (1.7 and 10 ng L−1) were detected, and the recoveries obtained with the spiked river water samples were in the range of 80.0–113% and 84.8–106% for BTEX and PAHs, respectively, which demonstrated the applicability of the self-made fiber.  相似文献
