In this paper we present a new infinite family of partition identities. The genesis of our work lies in two formulas of Lucy Slater related to the modulus 8. Hirschhorn, Agarwal and Subbarao have previously found intriguing interpretations for Slater's formula, but none has led to an infinite family of results. 相似文献

The authors provide optimized local trigonometric bases with nonuniform partitions which efficiently compress trigonometric functions. Numerical examples demonstrate that in many cases the proposed bases provide better compression than the optimized bases with uniform partitions obtained by Matviyenko. 相似文献

We present two general finite extensions for each of the two Rogers-Ramanujan identities. Of these one can be derived directly
from Watson’s transformation formula by specialization or through Bailey’s method, the second similar formula can be proved
either by using the first formula and the q-Gosper algorithm, or through the so-called Bailey lattice.

Using series iteration techniques identities and apply each of these identities in we derive a number of general double series order to deduce several hypergeometric reduction formulas involving the Srivastava-Daoust double hypergeometric function. The main purpose of this paper is the existence of solutions and controllability for semilinear boundary problems with nonlocal initial conditions. We show that the solutions are given by a variation of constants formula which allows us to study the exact controllability for this kind of problems with control and nonlinear terms at the boundary. In this paper, we consider a discrete version of Aleksandrov's projection theorem. We prove that an origin-symmetric convex lattice set, whose lattice's y-coordinates' absolute values are not bigger than 2, can be uniquely determined by its lattice projection counts if its cardinality is not 11. This partly answers a question on the discrete version of Aleksandrov's projection theorem which was proposed by Gardner, Gronchi and Zong in 2005. 相似文献

Given a set of transmission eigenvalues, we apply Cartwright’s theory to show the density function inversely determines the indicator function. This indicator function gives a Weyl’s type of asymptotics on the transmission eigenvalues. The inverse uniqueness problem on the refraction index is reduced to identifying a parameter of an entire function. We use a Carlson’s type of theorem to prove the uniqueness as in entire function theory. Taking advantage of the uniqueness of rod density problem, we prove an uniqueness result with interior transmission eigenvalues. 相似文献

We consider non-adiabatic combustion waves arising from a two-step exothermic system. Our previous work showed that in certain parameter regions, the combustion wave can evolve to the “fast” solution branch, the “slow” solution branch or diffuse to the ambient temperature (extinction wave). Here, we are interested to find critical initial temperature profiles which evolve to these three types of steady solutions. For a particular family of temperature profiles, we construct a weight function which can be used to predict which of these three types of waves an initial temperature profile will evolve to. 相似文献

We analyze the Legendre and Chebyshev spectral Galerkin semidiscretizations of a one dimensional homogeneous parabolic problem with nonconstant coefficients. We present error estimates for both smooth and nonsmooth data. In the Chebyshev case a limit in the order of approximation is established. On the contrary, in the Legendre case we find an arbitrary high order of convegence.
