For a quiver Q, a k-algebra A, and an additive full subcategory 𝒳 of A-mod, the monomorphism category Mon(Q, 𝒳) is introduced. The main result says that if T is an A-module such that there is an exact sequence 0 → T m  → … → T 0 → D(A A ) → 0 with each T i  ∈ add(T), then Mon(Q, T) =(kQ ? k T); and if T is cotilting, then kQ ? k T is a unique cotilting Λ-module, up to multiplicities of indecomposable direct summands, such that Mon(Q, T) =(kQ ? k T).

As applications, the category of the Gorenstein-projective (kQ ? k A)-modules is characterized as Mon(Q, 𝒢𝒫(A)) if A is Gorenstein; the contravariantly finiteness of Mon(Q, 𝒳) can be described; and a sufficient and necessary condition for Mon(Q, A) being of finite type is given.  相似文献

Let K be an absolutely convex infinite-dimensional compact in a Banach space χ. The set of all bounded linear operators T on χ satisfying TKK is denoted by G(K). Our starting point is the study of the closure WG(K) of G(K) in the weak operator topology. We prove that WG(K) contains the algebra of all operators leaving [`(lin(K))]\overline{{\rm lin}(K)} invariant. More precise results are obtained in terms of the Kolmogorov n-widths of the compact K. The obtained results are used in the study of operator ranges and operator equations.  相似文献

We introduce an abstract setting that allows to discuss wave equations with time-dependent boundary conditions by means of operator matrices. We show that such problems are well-posed if and only if certain perturbations of the same problems with homogeneous, time-independent boundary conditions are well-posed. As applications we discuss two wave equations in Lp(0, 1) and in L2(Ω) equipped with dynamical and acoustic-like boundary conditions, respectively.  相似文献

This theory, which is little known, is closely associated with the numerical range W(A) of an operator A. Among the new results is a beautiful connection to numerical linear algebra, in which gradient descent and conjugate gradient convergence rates are shown to be trigonometric.  相似文献

Extending M. Daws’ definition of ultra-amenable Banach algebras, we introduce the notion of operator ultra-amenability for completely contractive Banach algebras. For a locally compact group G, we show that the operator ultra-amenability of A(G) imposes severe restrictions on G. In particular, it forces G to be a discrete, amenable group with no infinite abelian subgroups. For various classes of such groups, this means that G is finite.  相似文献

We have Theorem, the ring of functions analytic on S (or analytic symmetrical for real axis on S) is a algebra homomorphism of M (or M'). The constant function 1 or z corresponds to operator J or A^* respectively. Let $M_J={JB|B \in M}$ and $M'_J={JB|B \in M'}$ If the spectrum of (A^*A)^{1/2} is detached, we have Theorem. A scalar functionf is called opertor differentiable if its extension via spectral theory to the self-adjoint members of \(\mathfrak{B}\) (H) is differentiable. The study of differentiation and perturbation of such operator functions leads to the theory of mappings defined by the double operator integral $$x \mapsto \smallint \smallint \frac{{f(\lambda ) - f(\mu )}}{{\lambda - \mu }}F(d\mu )xE(d\lambda ).$$ We give a new condition under which this mapping is bounded on \(\mathfrak{B}\) (H). We also present a means of extendingf to a function on all of \(\mathfrak{B}\) (H) and determine corresponding perturbation and differentiation formulas. A connection with the “joint Peirce decomposition” from the theory ofJB *-triples is found. As an application we broaden the class of functions known to preserve the domain of the generator of a strongly continuous one-parameter group of*-automorphisms of aC *-algebra.  相似文献
