An approximate method of solving the contact problem of impressing a plane stamp of nearly circular cross section into an elastic half-space is suggested. The friction of the contact surface is neglected. A numerical algorithm for the method is produced. An elliptical and rectangular stamps are considered as examples. There is no general method of solving the problems for stamps of nearly circular cross section. Apart from the classical problem of a plane elliptical stamp, the literature gives solutions for the problems of polygonal stamps, with each problem however requiring a different approach. An approximate solution for the problem of impressing a stamp of nearly circular cross section into an elastic half-space is given in [1]. The method makes it possible to use the same approach to solve the contact problem for an arbitrary region of contact, and to construct an universal numerical algorithm. The program can be adapted to each particular case by making the corresponding changes in the procedure of computing the Fourier coefficients of the equation of the boundary of the area of contact. Below a numerical algorithm for the approximate method in question is given. A more effective formulation of the solution is given for the case of the elliptical stamp.  相似文献

There is considered the three-dimensional contact problem of elasticity theory with friction forces collinear to the motion direction. Such a case holds during stamp motion along the boundary of an elastic half-space with anisotropic friction /1/. In the case of an arbitrary friction surface, the mentioned force distribution is satisfied approximately during stamp motion.  相似文献

Frictional contact mechanics analysis for a rigid moving punch of an arbitrary profile and a functionally graded coating/homogeneous substrate system is carried out. The rigid punch slides over the coating at a constant subsonic speed. Smooth variation of the shear modulus of the graded coating is defined by an exponential function and the variation of the Poisson's ratio is assumed negligible. Coulomb's friction law is adopted. Hence, tangential force is proportional to the normal applied force through the coefficient of friction. An analytical method is developed utilizing the singular integral equation approach. Governing partial differential equations are derived in accordance with the theory of elastodynamics. The mixed boundary value problem is reduced to a singular integral equation of the second kind, which is solved numerically by an expansion-collocation technique. Presented results illustrate the effects of punch speed, coefficient of friction, material inhomogeneity and coating thickness on contact stress distributions and stress intensity factors. Comparisons indicate that the difference between elastodynamic and elastostatic solutions tends to be quite larger especially at higher punch speeds. It is shown that use of the elastodynamic theory provides more realistic results in contact problems involving a moving punch.  相似文献

Some problems for a viscoelastic half-space are solved in the case of noncommutative operators. A solution of the equilibrium equation analogous to the Boussinesq-Papkovich solution is constructed. The problem of a normal pressure acting on the boundary of a viscoelastic half-space is solved. Two forms of this solution are obtained and both are used in the following problems, the problem of a concentrated load moving over the boundary of a half-space and the problem of a circular rigid stamp. The case of periodic motion of a periodic load is investigated with reference to the example of motion in a circle. At constant Poisson's ratio the solution of the problem of a stamp can be used for determining the creep or relaxation function.Mekhanika Polimerov, Vol. 2, No. 3, pp. 392–402, 1966Presented 12 November 1965 at the Riga Conference on Polymer Mechanics.  相似文献

The action of a rigid stamp moving at a constant speed, on the boundary of an elastic half-space, is investigated. It is assumed that the frictional forces between the stamp and the surface of the half-space are absent. The integral equation obtained in [1] yields formulas for the pressure, for the case when the area of contact between the stamp and the half-space has an elliptic form.  相似文献

The mixed axisymmetric problem of elasticity theory on the torsion of a finite circular cylinder by a stamp is considered. The stamp is fixed rigidly to one plane face of the cylinder, the other plane face is fixed, and conditions for no displacements or stresses are given on the cylinder surface. The problem is investigated by the method of homogeneous solutions [1], which permits obtaining its approximate solution for practically any values of the parameters. Such efficiency of the method is determined by the fact that the solution of the problem reduces to investigating an infinite algebraic system of the Poincaré — Koch normal systems type. When the ratio of the cylinder height to the radius of the stamp is sufficiently large, the system coefficients, the contact stresses, and the other characteristics of the problem are evaluated to any degree of accuracy, and effective asymptotic expressions are obtained for small values of this ratio. Results of numerical computations are presented.

A solution of the problem for the case of a large value of the ratio (Ra) /h and small values of the ratio λ = h / a is obtained in [2].  相似文献

The deformation of a rod, confined in a fixed external housing, is considered. The friction forces in the contact surface are related to the deformation of the rod by a power relation. A wide range of variation of the friction parameter and the preliminary clearance parameter with which the rod is inserted into the housing is investigated and the characteristic features of the stress and strain distributions are revealed. The dissipation of energy due to friction and the formation of a hysteresis loop in the dependence of the stresses in the loaded end face on its displacement are considered. The problem is solved in a quasistatic formulation. Analytical relations are found for a number of important cases. Other results are obtained by numerical integration of the initial differential problem.  相似文献

More-accurate equations describing the axisymmetric deformations of elastic, thin-walled elements (coatings) are derived using the asymptotic analysis of the solution to the first fundamental problem of the theory of elasticity for a layer. The notable difference distinguishing these relations from the classical, Kirchhoff-Love and Reissner-Timoshenko equations of flexure of plates, and their modifications /1/, is, that there are no concentrated forces at the edges of the stamp when the corresponding contact problems are solved. Moreover, the formulas obtained contain the equations of classical theory as a special case. The solutions obtained using various applied theories are compared with the corresponding solution obtained using the equations of the theory of elasticity, using the example of the axisymmetric contact problem of impressing a plane circular stamp into a layer lying on a Fuss-Winkler foundation. The characteristic parameters of the problem in question are computed by numerical methods.  相似文献

The interaction between tire and road generates the transferable forces, which are necessary for driving dynamics and safety. These forces are based on friction between rubber material and pavement surface and depend on the roughness of the pavement, the slip velocity, the contact pressure and the temperature. Based on the finite element method, the friction coefficient is calculated by numerical simulation. The roughness of the pavement surface is described by the height difference correlation function (HDCF), which allows partitioning into different length scales. This multiscale approach is suitable to understand and to evaluate friction phenomena. These phenomena are hysteresis friction based on dissipation inside the rubber material and adhesion friction, which describes the direct bonding between two materials. Given, that the material parameters of rubber highly depend on temperature and the frictional dissipation leads to a warming of the rubber, the provision for these effects is necessary for a realistic desciption of friction. The method allows an understanding of friction phenomena on the micro-scale like the real contact area or the microscopic contact pressure. Also, the temperature distribution inside the tire cross-section can be illustrated. The resulting coefficient of friction is validated by experimental data based on linear friction tests and compared to analytical solutions. (© 2016 Wiley-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. This paper investigates the two-dimensional sliding frictional contact of a piezoelectric half-plane in the plane strain state under the action of a rigid flat or a triangular punch. It is assumed that the punch is a perfect electrical conductor with a constant electric potential. By using the Fourier integral transform technique and the superposition theorem, the problem is reduced to a pair of coupled Cauchy singular integral equations and then is numerically solved to determine the unknown contact pressure and surface electric charge distribution. The effects of the friction coefficient and electro-mechanical loads on the normal contact stress, normal electric displacement, in-plane stress and in-plane electric displacement are discussed in detail. It is found that the friction coefficient has a significant effect on the electro-mechanical sliding frictional contact behaviors of the piezoelectric materials.  相似文献

There is examined the problem of vibration of a stamp of arbitrary planform occupying a space Ω and vibrating harmonically in an elastic medium with plane boundaries. It is assumed that the elastic medium is a packet of layers with parallel boundaries, at rest in the stiff or elastic half-space. Contact of three kinds is realized under the stamp: rigid adhesion in the domain Ω1, friction-free contact in domain Ω2, there are no tangential contact stresses, and “film” contact without normal force in domain Ω3 (there are no normal contact stresses, only tangential stresses are present.). It is assumed that the boundaries of all the domains have twice continuously differentiable curvature and Ω = Ω1 Ω2 Ω3.

The problem under consideration assumes the presence of a static load pressing the stamp to the layer and hindering the formation of a separation zone. Moreover, a dynamic load, harmonic in time, acts on the stamp causing dynamical stresses which are of the greatest interest since the solution of the static problem is obtained as a particular case of the dynamic problem for ω = 0 (ω is the frequency of vibration). The general solution is constructed in the form of a sum of static and dynamic solutions.

A uniqueness theorem is established for the integral equation of the problem mentioned and for the case of axisymmetric vibration of a circular stamp partially coupled rigidly to the layer, partially making friction-free contact, the problem is reduced to an effectively solvable system of integral equations of the second kind, which reduce easily to a Fredholm system.

These results are an extension of the method elucidated in [1], where by the approach in [1] must be altered qualitatively to obtain them.  相似文献

This paper investigates dynamic, frictional contact of a moving punch over the surface of anisotropic materials. An eigenvalue analysis of the governing equations is performed. The application of the complex function theory produces a singular integral equation exhibiting a non-square-root or unconventional singularity. Numerical tests demonstrate that both the friction coefficient and the moving velocity contribute to the contact behaviors under a moving punch with a flat or cylindrical profile. Furthermore, the present results illustrate that the surface in-plane stress possesses singularity and discontinuation at both edges of the flat punch and has a tensile spike at one edge of the cylindrical punch, which may account for the fatigue and fracture under the contact loading.  相似文献

Harmonic high frequency oscillations of a rigid stamp coupled without friction tc an elastic half-plane are considered. The main difficulty in constructing the high-frequency asymptotic forms is that of carrying out the effective factorization of the kernel of the basic integral equation. A function is proposed, which takes into account all properties of the kernel, enables it to be uniformly approximated and is easily factorized. Such a solution of the problem of approximate factorization makes it possible to write, in a simple explicit form, the principal term of the asymptotic expression of the solution. The nature of the distribution of contact stresses under the stamp is studied, as well as the compliance of the foundation and phase shift between the applied force and the displacement of the stamp.  相似文献

The indentation of an elastic half-space by an axisymmetricrigid punch under normal load is considered. The contact areais divided into an inner region with adhesion, the dimensionof which is known beforehand, surrounded by an annular slipzone. Two different cases of the problem, given by the assumptionsof friction-free slip or Coulomb friction, are treated. In thefriction-free case the problem is formulated in terms of a coupledpair of Cauchy type integrals for Abel transforms of the normaland shear stresses at the surface of the half-space. These arecombined to an inhomogeneous Fredholm equation which is solvedby a method of successive approximations, and the stresses areobtained as Abel transform inversions of its solution. In thecase with Coulomb friction the problem is solved by a numericalmethod based on piecewise constant approximations to the surfacestresses.  相似文献

This work deals with the mathematical analysis of a dynamic unilateral contact problem with friction for a cracked viscoelastic body. We consider here a Kelvin-Voigt viscoelastic material and a nonlocal friction law. To prove the existence of a solution to the unilateral problem with friction, an auxiliary penalized problem is studied. Several estimates on the penalized solutions are given, which enable us to pass to the limit by using compactness results.  相似文献

Using Ball's approach to non-linear elasticity, and in particular his concept of polyconvexity, we treat a unilateral three-dimensional contact problem for a hyperelastic body under volume and surface forces. Here the unilateral constraint is described by a sublinear function which can model the contact with a rigid convex cone. We obtain a solution to this generally non-convex, semicoercive Signorinin problem as a limit of solutions of related energy minimization problems involving friction normal to the contact surface where the friction coefficient goes to infinity. Thus we extend an approximation result of Duvaut and Lions for linear-elastic unilateral contact problems to finite deformations and to a class of non-linear elastic materials including the material models of Ogden and of Mooney-Rivlin for rubberlike materials. Moreover, the underlying penalty method is shown to be exact, that is a sufficiently large friction coefficient in the auxiliary energy minimization problems suffices to produce a solution of the original unilateral problem, provided a Lagrange multiplier to the unilateral constraint exists.  相似文献

The formulation of contact problems is extended to the case of moving punches and to the case when the state of the systems being investigated depends on the history of the change in the external actions. The quasi-static contact problem for a moving rigid rough punch and a single linearly deformable body is considered. A new iterational process is proposed for solving contact problems, taking friction in the contact area into account, and its convergence is proved. An algorithm of the solution, based on the boundary element method, is developed. Solutions of specific problems are given and analysed. Estimates of the difference of the solutions due to the difference in the impenetrability conditions and the difference in the steps of the loading parameter are obtained.  相似文献
