Given anm-tempered strongly continuous action α of ℝ by continuous*-automorphisms of a Frechet*-algebraA, it is shown that the enveloping ↡-C *-algebraE(S(ℝ, A, α)) of the smooth Schwartz crossed productS(ℝ,A , α) of the Frechet algebra A of C-elements ofA is isomorphic to the Σ-C *-crossed productC *(ℝ,E(A), α) of the enveloping Σ-C *-algebraE(A) ofA by the induced action. WhenA is a hermitianQ-algebra, one getsK-theory isomorphismRK *(S(ℝ, A, α)) =K *(C *(ℝ,E(A), α) for the representableK-theory of Frechet algebras. An application to the differential structure of aC *-algebra defined by densely defined differential seminorms is given.  相似文献

We consider a class of m-point (m > 3) second order boundary value problem (PF\cal{P}_{F}) in a separable Banach space E of the form W 2, 1E([0, 1])W ^{2, 1}_E([0, 1])-solutions of (PF\cal{P}_{F}) is compact and is a retract in C1E([0, 1])C^1_E([0, 1]). A new existence result of W 2, 1E([0, 1])W ^{2, 1}_E([0, 1])-solutions and a related relaxation problem are also provided, here F is no longer bounded.  相似文献

We endow any proper A-convex H*-algebra (E, τ) with a locally pre-C*-topology. The latter is equivalent to that introduced by the pre C*-norm given by Ptàk function when (E, τ) is a Q-algebra. We also prove that the algebra of complex numbers is the unique proper locally A-convex H*-algebra which is barrelled and Q-algebra.   相似文献

Let (G, I, N, S) be an affine topological Tits system, and let Γ be a torsion-free cocompact lattice in G. This article studies the coinvariants H 0(Γ; C(Ω,Z)), where Ω is the Furstenberg boundary of G. It is shown that the class [1] of the identity function in H 0(Γ; C(Ω, Z)) has finite order, with explicit bounds for the order. A similar statement applies to the K 0 group of the boundary crossed product C *-algebra C(Ω)Γ. If the Tits system has type ? 2, exact computations are given, both for the crossed product algebra and for the reduced group C *-algebra.  相似文献

The paper aims at developing a theory of nuclear (in the topological algebraic sense) pro-C*-algebras (which are inverse limits of C*-algebras) by investigating completely positive maps and tensor products. By using the structure of matrix algebras over a pro-C*-algebra, it is shown that a unital continuous linear map between pro-C*-algebrasA andB is completely positive iff by restriction, it defines a completely positive map between the C*-algebrasb(A) andb(B) consisting of all bounded elements ofA andB. In the metrizable case,A andB are homeomorphically isomorphic iff they are matricially order isomorphic. The injective pro-C*-topology α and the projective pro-C*-topology v on A⊗B are shown to be minimal and maximal pro-C*-topologies; and α coincides with the topology of biequicontinous convergence iff eitherA orB is abelian. A nuclear pro-C*-algebraA is one that satisfies, for any pro-C*-algebra (or a C*-algebra)B, any of the equivalent requirements; (i) α =v onA ⊗B (ii)A is inverse limit of nuclear C*-algebras (iii) there is only one admissible pro-C*-topologyon A⊗B (iv) the bounded partb(A) ofA is a nuclear C⊗-algebra (v) any continuous complete state map A→B* can be approximated in simple weak* convergence by certain finite rank complete state maps. This is used to investigate permanence properties of nuclear pro-C*-algebras pertaining to subalgebras, quotients and projective and inductive limits. A nuclearity criterion for multiplier algebras (in particular, the multiplier algebra of Pedersen ideal of a C*-algebra) is developed and the connection of this C*-algebraic nuclearity with Grothendieck’s linear topological nuclearity is examined. A σ-C*-algebraA is a nuclear space iff it is an inverse limit of finite dimensional C*-algebras; and if abelian, thenA is isomorphic to the algebra (pointwise operations) of all scalar sequences.  相似文献

It is shown that an n × n matrix of continuous linear maps from a pro-C^*-algebra A to L(H), which verifies the condition of complete positivity, is of the form [V^*TijФ(·)V]^n i,where Ф is a representation of A on a Hilbert space K, V is a bounded linear operator from H to K, and j=1,[Tij]^n i,j=1 is a positive element in the C^*-algebra of all n×n matrices over the commutant of Ф(A) in L(K). This generalizes a result of C. Y.Suen in Proc. Amer. Math. Soc., 112(3), 1991, 709-712. Also, a covariant version of this construction is given.  相似文献

We study the ‘universal’ strong coercivity problem for variational integrals of degenerate p-Laplacian type by mixing finitely many homogenous systems. We establish the equivalence between universal p-coercivity and a generalized notion of p-quasiconvex extreme points. We then give sufficient conditions and counterexamples for universal coercivity. In the case of noncoercive systems we give examples showing that the corresponding variational integral may have infinitely many non-trivial minimizers in W 01,p which are nowhere C 1 on their supports. We also give examples of universally p-coercive variational integrals in W 01,p for p ⩾ with L coefficients for which uniqueminimizers under affine boundary conditions are nowhere C 1.   相似文献

Assume that each completely irrational noncommutative torus is realized as an inductive limit of circle algebras, and that for a completely irrational noncommutative torus Aw of rank m there are a completely irrational noncommutative torus Aρ of rank m and a positive integer d such that tr(Aw)=1/d.tr(Aρ).It is proved that the set of all C^*-algebras of sections of locally trivial C^*-algebra bundles over S^2 with fibres Aω has a group sturcture, denoted by π1^s(Aut(Aω)),which is isomorphic to Zif Ed>1 and {0} if d>1.Let Bcd be a cd-homogeneous C^*-algebra over S^2×T^2 of which no non-trivial matrix algebra can be factored out.The spherical noncommutative torus Sρ^cd is defined by twisting C^*(T2×Z^m-2) in Bcd ×C^*(Z^m-3) by a totally skew multiplier ρ on T^2×Z^m-2。It is shown that Sρ^cd×Mρ∞ is isomorphic to C(S^2)×C^*(T^2×Z^m-2,ρ)× Mcd(C)×Mρ∞ if and only if the set of prime factors of cd is a subset of the set of prime factors of p.  相似文献

We associate to any length function L on a group a space of rapidly decreasing functions on (in the l 2 sense), denoted by H L (). When H L () is contained in the reduced C*-algebra C r * () of (), then it is a dense *-subalgebra of C r * () and we prove a theorem of A. Connes which asserts that under this hypothesis H L () has the same K-theory as C r * (). We introduce another space of rapidly decreasing functions on (in the l 1 sense), denoted by H L 1, (), which is always a dense *-subalgebra of the Banach algebra l 1(), and we show that H L 1, () has the same K-theory as l 1().  相似文献

In a previous paper (Israel J. Math.28 (1977), 313–324), it was shown that for a certain class of cardinals τ,l 1(τ) embeds in a Banach spaceX if and only ifL 1([0, 1]τ) embeds inX *. An extension (to a rather wider class of cardinals) of the basic lemma of that paper is here applied so as to yield an affirmative answer to a question posed by Rosenthal concerning dual ℒ1-spaces. It is shown that ifZ * is a dual Banach space, isomorphic to a complemented subspace of anL 1-space, and κ is the density character ofZ *, thenl 1(κ) embeds inZ *. A corollary of this result is that every injective bidual Banach space is isomorphic tol (κ) for some κ. The second part of this article is devoted to an example, constructed using the continuum hypothesis, of a compact spaceS which carries a homogeneous measure of type ω1, but which is such thatl 11) does not embed in ℰ(S). This shows that the main theorem of the already mentioned paper is not valid in the case τ = ω1. The dual space ℰ(S)* is isometric to , and is a member of a new isomorphism class of dualL 1-spaces.  相似文献

Given a complex Hilbert space H, we study the manifold of algebraic elements in . We represent as a disjoint union of closed connected subsets M of Z each of which is an orbit under the action of G, the group of all C*-algebra automorphisms of Z. Those orbits M consisting of hermitian algebraic elements with a fixed finite rank r, (0< r<∞) are real-analytic direct submanifolds of Z. Using the C*-algebra structure of Z, a Banach-manifold structure and a G-invariant torsionfree affine connection ∇ are defined on M, and the geodesics are computed. If M is the orbit of a finite rank projection, then a G-invariant Riemann structure is defined with respect to which ∇ is the Levi-Civita connection. Given a C*-normed algebra A which is either a Banach *-algebra or a Frechet *-algebra, we study the algebras Ω A and Ωε A obtained by taking respectively the projective limit and the inductive limit of Banach *-algebras obtained by completing the universal graded differential algebra Ω*A of abstract non-commutative differential forms over A. Various quantized integrals on Ω A induced by a K-cycle on A are considered. The GNS-representation of Ω A defined by a d-dimensional non-commutative volume integral on a d +-summable K-cycle on A is realized as the representation induced by the left action of A on Ω*A. This supplements the representation A on the space of forms discussed by Connes (Ch. VI.1, Prop. 5, p. 550 of [C]).  相似文献

We define the C *-algebra of quantum real projective space R P q 2, classify its irreducible representations, and compute its K-theory. We also show that the q-disc of Klimek and Lesniewski can be obtained as a non-Galois Z 2-quotient of the equator Podle quantum sphere. On the way, we provide the Cartesian coordinates for all Podle quantum spheres and determine an explicit form of isomorphisms between the C *-algebras of the equilateral spheres and the C *-algebra of the equator one.  相似文献

This work is devoted to the construction of canonical passive and conservative state/signal shift realizations of arbitrary passive continuous time behaviors. By definition, a passive future continuous time behavior is a maximal nonnegative right-shift invariant subspace of the Kreĭn space L2([0,¥);W){L^2([0,\infty);\mathcal W)}, where W{\mathcal W} is a Kreĭn space, and the inner product in L2([0,¥);W){L^2([0,\infty);\mathcal W)} is the one inherited from W{\mathcal W}. A state/signal system S = (V;X,W){\Sigma=(V;\mathcal X,\mathcal W)}, with a Hilbert state space X{\mathcal X} and a Kreĭn signal space W{\mathcal W}, is a dynamical system whose classical trajectories (x, w) on [0, ∞) satisfy x ? In this paper we study the point spectrum of the operator
where d ≥ 1, 1 ≤ p ≤ ∞([0, 1] d ) and τ is an irrational rotation on [0, 1] d . For a particular class of weights w, the point spectrum of T w is shown to be empty, generalizing Davie’s result [3], who considered the case p = 2, d = 1. Received: 1 June 2007, Revised: 16 October 2007  相似文献

We consider the nonlinear Sturm–Liouville problem

where λ > 0 is an eigenvalue parameter. To understand well the global behavior of the bifurcation branch in R + × L 2(I), we establish the precise asymptotic formula for λ(α), which is associated with eigenfunction u α with ‖ u α2 = α, as α → ∞. It is shown that if for some constant p > 1 the function h(u) ≔ f(u)/u p satisfies adequate assumptions, including a slow growth at ∞, then λ(α) ∼ α p−1 h(α) as α → ∞ and the second term of λ(α) as α → ∞ is determined by lim u → ∞ uh′(u).
