We discuss the bright hollow cone of scattered light from a silver film due to surface plasmon excitation. The power per solid angle scattered into the cone on the prism side of the metal film is an order of magnitude greater than that scattered on the air side. By photographing the cone, we obtain the spatial surface roughness spectrum of the metal film. Results of these experiments are compared to linear scattering theory.  相似文献

为了提高顶入射有机薄膜太阳能电池(TOSCs)的光吸收效率,我们将周期性矩形光栅结构引入到TOSCs中,分析了具有光栅结构的空气/Ag_1/有源层/Ag_2/空气(IMIMI)结构理想模型中复合表面等离子激元(SPPs)与微腔模式的耦合机制。通过调节光栅周期和有源层厚度,实现了复合SPPs、微腔模式以及有机材料本征吸收3个区域的重合。由于复合SPPs与微腔模式的反交叉耦合作用形成了表面等离子体-微腔激元,其局域场增强作用有效地提高了有源层的光吸收效率,提高了近19%。  相似文献

采用两步法制备Si基Ag/ZnO双层结构薄膜,研究了Ag覆盖层的厚度和生长温度T对ZnO近带边发光强度的影响.对于厚度为100 nm的ZnO薄膜,发现Ag覆盖层的最佳厚度仅为8 nm,此时双层薄膜相对于单层ZnO薄膜的发光增强因子η达到最大值8.1;同时还发现,在最佳Ag层厚度下,生长温度T≥300 ℃时生长Ag所获Ag/ZnO双层薄膜的ZnO发光强度比生长温度T≤200 ℃时生长的双层薄膜样品大一倍以上,η ≈ 18.结合对双层薄膜表 关键词: 表面等离子体共振 复合薄膜  相似文献

Single dot spectroscopy of Si quantum dots (QDs) was performed by using surface plasmon polariton (SPP)-mediated excitation in the attenuated total reflection geometry with a MgF2/Ag film on the base of a prism. Thanks to the 16 times enhancement of the incident electric field and very small background signal, PL from single Si QDs was observed clearly. This proves the usefulness of the technique for the detection of inherently weak emission of Si QDs.  相似文献

The enhancement infrared absorption of a thin KSCN film formed on a smooth gold surface has been observed in the Otto ATR prism configuration. The absorption intensity reaches the maximum at an incident angle slightly lower than the critical angle for total internal reflection at the prism/air interface, and the intensity attains to large values at sizable prism-metal distances. These facts clearly indicate that the enhancement does not arise from the excitation of a surface plasmon polariton. Theoretical calculations of the electromagnetic field strength in the prism-metal gap show that the enhancement comes from the optical cavity effect.  相似文献

The deposition of silver on an ordered alumina film prepared on Re(0001) surface has been studied by Auger electron spectroscopy (AES), low energy electron diffraction (LEED) and high resolution electron energy loss spectroscopy (HREELS). The results show that Ag grows initially as clusters at 90K and 300K. A red shift of the Ag surface plasmon as a function of decreasing coverage is observed, which is related to the cluster size effect. A surface plasmon characteristic of metallic Ag appears at coverages higher than 2.8 monolayer equivalent.  相似文献

A novel method with single-wavelength light is developed to determine the optical constants and the thickness of a thin metal film. It bases on a new geometry that consists of a coupling prism, a transparent coating layer directly deposited onto the prism base, a thin metal film to be detected, and the air. The attenuated total reflection technique is employed in our configuration to excite two different kinds of surface plasmon waves simultaneously. As a result, the reflection curve shows two obvious surface plasmon resonant dips. Using the Chen's et al. (Opt. Soc. Am. 71 189, 1981) method, we can obtain two sets of () and thickness of the thin metal film through one resonant dip (surface plasmon), then the real value can be determined through the other resonant dip (modified long-range surface plasmon). Compared to conventional double wavelength method and the double-medium technique (Yang et al. Appl. Opt. 27 11, 1988), the present single-scan method avoids both the ambiguity of different conditions caused by two-scan technique, and the dispersion problem with different light wavelength.  相似文献
