In this paper, examples of type II Sarkisov links between smooth complex projective Fano threefolds with Picard number one are provided. To show examples of these links, we study smooth weak Fano threefolds X with Picard number two and with a divisorial extremal ray. We assume that the pluri-anticanonical morphism of X contracts only a finite number of curves. The numerical classification of these particular smooth weak Fano threefolds is completed and the geometric existence of some numerical cases is proven.  相似文献

For a G-variety X with an open orbit, we define its boundary ∂ X as the complement of the open orbit. The action sheaf S X is the subsheaf of the tangent sheaf made of vector fields tangent to ∂ X. We prove, for a large family of smooth spherical varieties, the vanishing of the cohomology groups H i (X, S X ) for i > 0, extending results of Bien and Brion (Compos. Math. 104:1–26, 1996). We apply these results to study the local rigidity of the smooth projective varieties with Picard number one classified in Pasquier (Math. Ann., in press).  相似文献

The Picard number of a Fano manifold X obtained by blowing up a curve in a smooth projective variety is known to be at most 5, in any dimension greater than or equal to 4. In this note, we show that the Picard number attains to the maximal if and only if X is the blow-up of the projective space whose center consists of two points, the strict transform of the line joining them and a linear subspace or a hyperquadric of codimension 2. This result is obtained as a consequence of a classification of special types of Fano manifolds.  相似文献

We prove various inequalities for characteristic classes of smooth projective varieties which are complete intersections. We relate such classes to symmetric functions of the degrees of the hypersurfaces that intersect onX, by means of symmetric functions that are invariant by translation, and use positivity properties and inequalities between Newton classes. This extends previous results of H. S. Tai.

Let G be a reductive algebraic group and X a smooth G-variety. For a smooth locally closed G-stable subvariety MX, we prove that the G-complexity of the (co)normal bundle of M is equal to the G-complexity of X. In particular, if X is spherical, then all (co)normal bundles are again spherical G-varieties. If X is a G-module with finitely many orbits, the closures of the conormal bundles of the orbits coincide with the irreducible components of the commuting variety. We describe properties of these closures for the representations associated with short gradings of simple Lie algebras. Received: 22 April 1998  相似文献

For a projective variety X of codimension 2 in defined over the complex number field , it is traditionally said that X has no apparent -ple points if the -secant lines of X do not fill up the ambient projective space , equivalently, the locus of -ple points of a generic projection of X to ${\Bbb P}^{n+1}$ is empty. We show that a smooth threefold in has no apparent triple points if and only if it is contained in a quadric hypersurface. We also obtain an enumerative formula counting the quadrisecant lines of X passing through a general point of and give necessary cohomological conditions for smooth threefolds in without apparent quadruple points. This work is intended to generalize the work of F. Severi [fSe] and A. Aure [Au], where it was shown that a smooth surface in has no triple points if and only if it is either a quintic elliptic scroll or contained in a hyperquadric. Furthermore we give open questions along these lines. Received: 24 January 2000 / Published online: 18 June 2001  相似文献

In this paper we investigate the relation between the finite generation of the Cox ring R(X) of a smooth projective surface X and its anticanonical Iitaka dimension κ(−KX).  相似文献

Let X be a smooth complex projective variety with Neron–Severi group isomorphic to ℤ, and D an irreducible divisor with normal crossing singularities. Assume 1<r≤ 3. We prove that if π1(X) doesn't have irreducible PU(r) representations, then π1(X- D) doesn't have irreducible U(r) representations. The proof uses the non-existence of certain stable parabolic bundles. We also obtain a similar result for GL(2) when D is smooth. Received: 20 December 1999 / Revised version: 7 May 2000  相似文献

In a follow-up to our paper [Threefolds with big and nef anticanonical bundles I, Math. Ann., 2005, 333(3), 569–631], we classify smooth complex projective threefolds Xwith −K X big and nef but not ample, Picard number γ(X) = 2, and whose anticanonical map is small. We assume also that the Mori contraction of X and of its flop X + are not both birational.  相似文献

We prove that any smooth complex projective variety X with plurigenera P 1(X)=P 2(X)=1 and irregularity q(X)=dim(X) is birational to an abelian variety. Oblatum 26-V-1999 & 13-VI-2000?Published online: 11 October 2000  相似文献

We prove Bertini type theorems for the inverse image, under a proper morphism, of any Schubert variety in an homogeneous space. Using generalisations of Deligne's trick, we deduce connectedness results for the inverse image of the diagonal in X2 where X is any isotropic grassmannian. We also deduce simple connectedness properties for subvarieties of X. Finally we prove transplanting theorems à la Barth-Larsen for the Picard group of any isotropic grassmannian of lines and for the Neron-Severi group of some adjoint and coadjoint homogeneous spaces.  相似文献

In this article, we investigate the semistability of logarithmic de Rham sheaves on a smooth projective variety (X, D), under suitable conditions. This is related to existence of Kähler–Einstein metric on the open variety. We investigate this problem when the Picard number is one. Fix a normal crossing divisor D on X and consider the logarithmic de Rham sheaf Ω X (log D) on X. We prove semistability of this sheaf, when the log canonical sheaf K X  + D is ample or trivial, or when ?K X  ? D is ample, i.e., when X is a log Fano n-fold of dimension n ≤ 6. We also extend the semistability result for Kawamata coverings, and this gives examples whose Picard number can be greater than one.  相似文献

Let G be a semisimple connected linear algebraic group over , and X a wonderful G-variety. We study the possibility of realizing X as a closed subvariety of the projective space of a simple G-module. We describe the wonderful varieties having this property as well as the linear systems giving rise to such immersions. We also prove that any ample line bundle on a wonderful variety is very ample. Severi varieties
R. Hartshorne conjectured and F. Zak proved (cf [6,p.9]) that any smooth non-degenerate complex algebraic variety with satisfies denotes the secant variety of X; when X is smooth it is simply the union of all the secant and tangent lines to X). In this article, I deal with the limiting case of this theorem, namely the Severi varieties, defined by the conditions and . I want to give a different proof of a theorem of F. Zak classifying all Severi varieties. F. Zak proves that there exists only four Severi varieties and then realises a posteriori that all of them are homogeneous; here I will work in another direction: I prove a priori that any Severi variety is homogeneous and then deduce more quickly their classification, satisfying R. Lazarsfeld et A. Van de Ven's wish [6, p.18]. By the way, I give a very brief proof of the fact that the derivatives of the equation of Sec(X), which is a cubic hypersurface, determine a birational morphism of . I wish to thank Laurent Manivel for helping me in writing this article. Received in final form: 29 March 2001 / Published online: 1 February 2002  相似文献

To any pair of coverings fi:XXi, i=1, 2, of smooth projective curves one can associate an abelian subvariety of the Jacobian JX, the Prym variety P(f1, f2) of the pair (f1, f2). In some cases we can compute the type of the restriction of the canonical principal polarization of JX. We obtain 2 families of Prym-Tyurin varieties of exponent 6. In this note, we describe the Picard group of the class of compact, smooth, flat, projective varieties. In view of Charlap's work and Johnson's characterization, we construct line bundles over such manifolds as the holonomy-invariant elements of the Neron-Severi group of a projective flat torus covering the manifold. We prove a generalized version of the Appell-Humbert theorem which shows that the nontrivial elements of the Picard group are precisely those coming from the above construction. Our calculations finally give an estimate for the set of positive line bundles for such varieties.

Given a smooth projective toric variety X, we construct an A category of Lagrangians with boundary on a level set of the Landau–Ginzburg mirror of X. We prove that this category is quasi-equivalent to the DG category of line bundles on X.   相似文献
