如果图G的一个正常边染色满足任意两个不同点的关联边色集不同, 则称为点可区别边染色(VDEC), 其所用最少颜色数称为点可区别边色数. 利用构造法给出了积图点可区别边染色的一个结论, 得到了关于积图点可区别边色数的若干结果, 并且给出25个具体积图的点可区别边色数, 验证了它们满足点可区别边染色猜想(VDECC).  相似文献

An edge e of a k-connected graph G is said to be a removable edge if G O e is still k-connected, where G e denotes the graph obtained from G by deleting e to get G - e, and for any end vertex of e with degree k - 1 in G- e, say x, delete x, and then add edges between any pair of non-adjacent vertices in NG-e (x). The existence of removable edges of k-connected graphs and some properties of 3-connected and 4-connected graphs have been investigated [1, 11, 14, 15]. In the present paper, we investigate some properties of 5-connected graphs and study the distribution of removable edges on a cycle and a spanning tree in a 5- connected graph. Based on the properties, we proved that for a 5-connected graph G of order at least 10, if the edge-vertex-atom of G contains at least three vertices, then G has at least (3│G│ + 2)/2 removable edges.  相似文献

The minimum number of colors required for a vertex distinguishing edge coloring of a graph G is denoted by ???? s (G). Let G be a bipartite graph with vertex set V(G) and edge set E(G), and let g and f be two nonnegative integer-valued functions defined on V(G) such that g(x)≤ f(x) for every vertex x of V(G). A (g. f)-coloring of G is a generalized edge-coloring in which each color appears at each vertex x at least g(x) and at most f(x) times. In this paper a polynomial algorithm to find a (g. f)-coloring of a bipartite graph with some constraints using the minimum number of colors is given. Furthermore, we show that the results in this paper are best possible.  相似文献

An edge of a 5‐connected graph is said to be contractible if the contraction of the edge results in a 5‐connected graph. Let x be a vertex of a 5‐connected graph. We prove that if there are no contractible edges whose distance from x is two or less, then either there are two triangles with x in common each of which has a distinct degree five vertex other than x, or there is a specified structure called a K4?‐configuration with center x. As a corollary, we show that if a 5‐connected graph on n vertices has no contractible edges, then it has 2n/5 vertices of degree 5. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A proper edge coloring of a graph G is called adjacent vertex-distinguishing acyclic edge coloring if there is no 2-colored cycle in G and the coloring set of edges incident with u is not equal to the coloring set of edges incident with v, where uvE(G). The adjacent vertex distinguishing acyclic edge chromatic number of G, denoted by x Aa (G), is the minimal number of colors in an adjacent vertex distinguishing acyclic edge coloring of G. If a graph G has an adjacent vertex distinguishing acyclic edge coloring, then G is called adjacent vertex distinguishing acyclic. A bicirculant is a graph admitting an automorphism with exactly two vertex‐orbits of equal size. All non‐isomorphic 4‐valent edge‐transitive bicirculants are characterized in this article. In this paper we present a simple method for constructing infinite families of graphs defined by a class of systems of equations over commutative rings. We show that the graphs in all such families possess some general properties including regularity and biregularity, existence of special vertex colorings, and existence of covering maps—hence, embedded spectra—between every two members of the same family. Another general property, recently discovered, is that nearly every graph constructed in this manner edge‐decomposes either the complete, or complete bipartite, graph which it spans. In many instances, specializations of these constructions have proved useful in various graph theory problems, but especially in many extremal problems. A short survey of the related results is included. We also show that the edge‐decomposition property allows one to improve existing lower bounds for some multicolor Ramsey numbers. © 2001 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. A normal odd partition of the edges of a cubic graph is a partition into trails of odd length (no repeated edge) such that each vertex is the end vertex of exactly one trail of the partition and internal in some trail. For each vertex v, we can distinguish the edge for which this vertex is pending. Three normal odd partitions are compatible whenever these distinguished edges are distinct for each vertex. We examine this notion and show that a cubic 3‐edge‐colorable graph can always be provided with three compatible normal odd partitions. The Petersen graph has this property and we can construct other cubic graphs with chromatic index four with the same property. Finally, we propose a new conjecture which, if true, would imply the well‐known Fan and Raspaud Conjecture.  相似文献

An odd k‐edge‐coloring of a graph G is a (not necessarily proper) edge‐coloring with at most k colors such that each nonempty color class induces a graph in which every vertex is of odd degree. Pyber (1991) showed that every simple graph is odd 4‐edge‐colorable, and Lužar et al. (2015) showed that connected loopless graphs are odd 5‐edge‐colorable, with one particular exception that is odd 6‐edge‐colorable. In this article, we prove that connected loopless graphs are odd 4‐edge‐colorable, with two particular exceptions that are respectively odd 5‐ and odd 6‐edge‐colorable.
