Transverse-energy and charged-particle pseudorapidity densities at midrapidity and their ratio, dET/d|mid/dNch/d|mid, are evaluated in a statistical model with longitudinal and transverse flows for the wide range of colliders, from AGS to RHIC at = 200 GeV. Evaluations are done at freeze-out parameters obtained from independent fits to observed particle yields and pT spectra. Decays of hadron resonances are treated thoroughly and are included in derivations of dET/d|mid and dNch/d|mid. The predictions of the model agree well with the experimental data. However, some (explicable) overestimation of the ratio has been observed.  相似文献

The transverse energy and the charged-particle multiplicity at midrapidity are evaluated in a single-freeze-out model for different centrality bins at RHIC at = 130 and 200GeV. The predictions of the model are done at the freeze-out parameters determined earlier from measured particle yields and pT spectra. The results agree qualitatively well with the experimental data.  相似文献

We study soft hadron production in relativistic heavy-ion collisions in a wide range of reaction energy, 4.8 GeV < < 200 GeV, and make predictions about yields of particles using the statistical hadronization model. In fits to experimental data, we obtain both the statistical parameters as well as physical properties of the hadron source. We identify the properties of the fireball at the critical energy threshold, 6.26 GeV < < 7.61 GeV, marking for higher energies the hadronization of an entropy-rich phase. In terms of the chemical composition, one sees a phase which at low energy is chemically under-saturated, and which turns into a chemically over-saturated state persisting up to the maximum accessible energy. Assuming that there is no change in physical mechanisms in the energy range 15 > ≥200 GeV, we use continuity of particle yields and statistical parameters to predict the hadron production at = 62.4 GeV, and obtain total yields of hadrons at = 130 GeV. We consider, in depth, the pattern we uncover within the hadronization condition, and discuss possible mechanisms associated with the identified rapid change in system properties at . We propose that the chemically over-saturated 2 + 1 flavor hadron matter system undergoes a 1st-order phase transition.  相似文献

In a Relativistic Diffusion Model (RDM), the evolution of net-proton rapidity spectra with in heavy systems is proposed as an indicator for local equilibration and longitudinal expansion. The broad midrapidity valley recently discovered at RHIC in central Au + Au collisions at = 200 GeV suggests rapid local equilibration which is most likely due to deconfinement, and fast longitudinal expansion. Rapidity spectra of produced charged hadrons in d + Au and Au + Au systems at RHIC energies and their centrality dependence are well described in a three-sources RDM. In central collisions, about 19% of the produced particles are in the equilibrated midrapidity region for d + Au.  相似文献

Elliptic flow at RHIC is computed event by event with NeXSPheRIO. Reasonable agreement with experimental results on v 2(η) is obtained. Various effects are studied as well: reconstruction of impact parameter direction, freeze-out temperature, equation of state (with or without crossover), emission mechanism.  相似文献

In a hydrodynamic model, we have studied J/ψ production in Au+Au/Cu+Cu collisions at RHIC energy, GeV. At the initial time, J/ψ’s are randomly distributed in the fluid. As the fluid evolves in time, the free streaming J/ψ’s are dissolved if the local fluid temperature exceeds a threshold temperature T J/ψ . Sequential melting of charmonium states (χ c , ψ and J/ψ), with melting temperatures , T J/ψ ≈2T c and feed-down fraction F≈0.3, explains the PHENIX data on the centrality dependence of J/ψ suppression in Au+Au collisions. J/ψ p T spectra and the nuclear modification factor in Au+Au collisions are also well explained in the model. The model however overpredicts the centrality dependence of J/ψ suppression in Cu+Cu collisions by 20–30%. The J/ψ p T spectra are underpredicted by 20–30%. The model predicts that in central Pb+Pb collisions at LHC energy,  GeV, J/ψ’s are suppressed by a factor of ∼10. The model predicted a J/ψ p T distribution in Pb+Pb collisions at LHC is similar to that in Au+Au collisions at RHIC.  相似文献

The production of the low-mass dielectrons is considered to be a powerful tool to study the properties of the hot and dense matter created in the ultra-relativistic heavy-ion collisions. We present the preliminary results on the first measurements of the low-mass dielectron continuum in Au + Au collisions and the φ-meson production measured in Au + Au and d + Au collisions at = 200GeV performed by the PHENIX experiment.  相似文献

The double differential dilepton spectrum d/(d 2 d 2) at fixed transverse mass M allows a direct access to the vector meson spectral functions. Within a fireball model the sensitivity of d/(d 2 d 2) against variations of both the in-medium properties of mesons and the dynamics of the fireball is investigated. In contrast to the integrated invariant-mass spectrum d/d 2, in the spectrum d/(d 2 d 2) with fixed M the ω signal is clearly seen as bump riding on the ρ background even in case of strong in-medium modifications.[3mm] Received: 16 November 2000 / Accepted: 16 January 2001  相似文献

The DWBA method is tested through a comparison with a microscopic cluster model on the 13C (, n) 16O reaction in the energy range E = 0-5MeV, relevant for nuclear astrophysics. The conditions of the calculation are as close as possible to the reference model, i.e. the nucleus-nucleus potentials are phase equivalent, and the spectroscopic factors are identical. We find significant differences between both approaches, which means that antisymmetrization effects, missing in the DWBA, are important. Our work also points out the strong sensitivity of the DWBA with input parameters.  相似文献

If the matter produced in ultrarelativistic heavy-ion collisions reaches thermal equilibrium, its subsequent evolution follows the laws of ideal fluid dynamics. We show that general predictions can be made on this basis alone, irrespective of the details of the hydrodynamical model. We derive several scaling rules for momentum spectra and anisotropic flow (in particular the elliptic flow, v2v2, and the hexadecupole flow, v4v4) of identified particles. Comparison with existing data is briefly discussed, and qualitative predictions are made for LHC.  相似文献

We present the results of a study of charged-pion production in 12C + 12C collisions at incident beam energies of 1A GeV and 2A GeV using the HADES spectrometer at GSI. The main emphasis of the HADES program is on the dielectron signal from the early phase of the collision. Here, however, we discuss the data with respect to the emission of charged hadrons, specifically the production of mesons, which are related to neutral pions representing a dominant contribution to the dielectron yield. We have performed the first large-angular-range measurement of the distribution of mesons for the 12C + 12C collision system covering a fairly large rapidity interval. The pion yields, transverse-mass and angular distributions are compared with calculations done within a transport model, as well as with existing data from other experiments. The anisotropy of pion production is systematically analyzed.  相似文献

We study the π± spectra obtained in 2, 4, 6 and 8A GeV Au - Au collisions within the thermal model. We find that the main features of the data can be well described after we include the pions from the decay of the Δ -resonance with medium mass modification.  相似文献

The time evolution of pseudorapidity distributions of produced charged hadrons in d + Au collisions at = 200 GeV is investigated. Results of a nonequilibrium statistical relativistic diffusion model with three sources are compared with a macroscopic “bounce-back” model that does not allow for statistical equilibration at large times, but instead leads to motion reversal. When compared to the data, the results of the diffusion approach are more precise, thus emphasizing that the system is observed to be on its way to thermal equilibrium.  相似文献

We employ the two independent Casimir operators of the Poincaré group, the squared four-momentum, p2, and the squared Pauli-Lubanski vector, W2, in the construction of a covariant mass m, and spin- projector in the four-vector spinor, ψμ. This projector provides the basis for the construction of an interacting Lagrangian that describes a causally propagating spin- particle coupled to the electromagnetic field by a gyromagnetic ratio of .  相似文献

Based on A Multi-Phase Transport (AMPT) model, the elliptic flow v2 of φ-mesons which is reconstructed from K + K - at the Relativistic Heavy-Ion Collider (RHIC) energy has been studied. The results show that the reconstructed v2 of the φ-meson can keep the earlier information before φ decays and it seems to obey the number of constituent-quark scaling as other mesons and baryons. This result indicates that the φ v2 mostly reflects the parton level collectivity developed during the early stage of the collisions and the strange and light up/down quarks have similar collectivity properties before the hadronization.  相似文献

We study anomalous J/Ψ suppression and p t broadening in the model of prompt gluons. The anomalous suppression can be successfully described in this model. The transverse-momentum dependence of J/Ψ suppression in relativistic heavy-ion collisions is calculated from initial-state gluon rescattering with both nucleons and prompt gluons produced in nucleon-nucleon collisions in the early phase of the reaction. It seems impossible to describe simultaneously anomalous suppression and p t broadening in Pb-Pb collisions within the model of prompt gluons with reasonable values of the parameters. Charmonium production at heavy-ion colliders is considered within the comovers-interaction model. The formalism is extended by including possible secondary J/ψ production through recombination and an estimate of recombination effects is made without adjusting the model parameters. The comovers-interaction model also includes a comprehensive treatment of initial-state nuclear effects, which are discussed in the context of such high energies. With these tools, the model properly describes the centrality and the rapidity dependence of experimental data at RHIC energy,  GeV, for both Au+Au and Cu+Cu collisions. Predictions for LHC,  TeV, are presented and the assumptions and extrapolations involved are discussed.  相似文献
