Theoretical and numerical outcomes of the non-Newtonian Casson liquid thin film fluid flow owing to an unsteady stretching sheet which exposed to a magnetic field, Ohmic heating and slip velocity phenomena is reported here. The non-Newtonian thermal conductivity is imposed and treated as it vary with temperature. The nonlinear partial differential equations governing the non-Newtonian Casson thin film fluid are simplified into a group of highly nonlinear ordinary differential equations by using an adequate dimensionless transformations. With this in mind, the numerical solutions for the ordinary conservation equations are found using an accurate shooting iteration technique together with the Runge-Kutta algorithm. The lineaments of the thin film flow and the heat transfer characteristics for the pertinent parameters are discussed through graphs. The results obtained here detect many concern for the local Nusselt number and the local skin-friction coefficient in which they may be beneficial for the material processing industries. Furthermore, in some special conditions, the present problem has an excellent agreement with previously published work.  相似文献

In this article, we consider the effects of double diffusion on magnetohydrodynamics (MHD) Carreau fluid flow through a porous medium along a stretching sheet. Variable thermal conductivity and suction/injection parameter effects are also taken into the consideration. Similarity transformations are utilized to transform the equations governing the Carreau fluid flow model to dimensionless non-linear ordinary differential equations. Maple software is utilized for the numerical solution. These solutions are then presented through graphs. The velocity, concentration, temperature profile, skin friction coefficient, and the Nusselt and Sherwood numbers under the impact of different parameters are studied. The fluid flow is analyzed for both suction and injection cases. From the analysis carried out, it is observed that the velocity profile reduces by increasing the porosity parameter while it enhances both the temperature and concentration profile. The temperature field enhances with increasing the variable thermal conductivity and the Nusselt number exhibits opposite behavior.  相似文献

The present study reveals the effect of homogeneous/hetereogeneous reaction on stagnation point flow of Williamson fluid in the presence of magnetohydrodynamics and heat generation/absorption coefficient over a stretching cylinder. Further the effects of variable thermal conductivity and thermal stratification are also considered. The governing partial differential equations are converted to ordinary differential equations with the help of similarity transformation. The system of coupled non-linear ordinary differential equations is then solved by shooting technique. MATLAB shooting code is validated by comparison with the previously published work in limiting case. Results are further strengthened when the present results are compared with MATLAB built-in function bvp4c. Effects of prominent parameters are deliberated graphically for the velocity, temperature and concentration profiles. Skin-friction coefficient and Nusselt number for the different parameters are investigated with the help of tables.  相似文献

This article presents an investigation of heat transfer in a porous medium adjacent to a vertical plate. The porous medium is subjected to a magnetohydrodynamic effect and suction velocity. The governing equations are nondepersonalized and converted into ordinary differential equations. The resulting equations are solved with the help of the finite difference method. The impact of various parameters, such as the Prandtl number, Grashof number, permeability parameter, radiation parameter, Eckert number, viscous dissipation parameter, and magnetic parameter, on fluid flow characteristics inside the porous medium is discussed. Entropy generation in the medium is analyzed with respect to various parameters, including the Brinkman number and Reynolds number. It is noted that the velocity profile decreases in magnitude with respect to the Prandtl number, but increases with the radiation parameter. The Eckert number has a marginal effect on the velocity profile. An increased radiation effect leads to a reduced thermal gradient at the hot surface.  相似文献

This research is made to visualize the boundary layer flow by a curved stretching sheet embedded in porous medium. The geometry is bended(curved), therefore the curvilinear coordinates are used to model the present problem.Fluid is electrically conducting with the presence of uniform magnetic field. The governing non-linear partial differential equation reduces to non-linear ordinary differential equations by using the dimensionless suitable transformations. The numerical solutions are obtained by using the method bvp4c from MATLAB. The effects of curvature parameter, nondimensional magnetic parameter, and porosity parameter on the velocity field and skin friction coefficient are examined. The skin friction profile enhances with enhancing the values of porosity and magnetic parameter. Comparison of the present results with the existing results in the literature for the flat surface is also given.  相似文献

We investigate the dual solutions for the MHD flow of micropolar fluid over a stretching/shrinking sheet with heat transfer. Suitable relations transform the partial differential equations into the ordinary differential equations.Closed forms solutions are also obtained in terms of confluent hypergeometric function. This is the first attempt to determine the exact solutions for the non-linear equations of MHD micropolar fluid model. It is demonstrated that the microrotation parameter helps in increasing Nusselt number and the dual solutions exist for all fluid flow parameters under consideration. The dual behavior of dimensionless velocity, temperature, microrotation, skin-friction coefficient, local Nusselt number is displayed on graphs and examined.  相似文献

This paper investigates the three-dimensional flow of a Sisko fluid over a bidirectional stretching sheet, in a porous medium. By using the effect of Cattaneo-Christov heat flux model, heat transfer analysis is illustrated. Using similarity transformation the governing partial differential equations are transferred into a system of ordinary differential equations that are solved numerically by applying Nachtsheim-Swigert shooting iteration technique along with the 6-th order Runge-Kutta integration scheme. The effect of various physical parameters such as Sisko fluid, ratio parameter, thermal conductivity, porous medium, radiation parameter, Brownian motion, thermophoresis, Prandtl number, and Lewis number are graphically represented.  相似文献

The magnetohydrodynamic(MHD) flow induced by a stretching or shrinking sheet under slip conditions is studied.Analytical solutions based on the boundary layer assumption are obtained in a closed form and can be applied to a flow configuration with any arbitrary velocity distributions. Seven typical sheet velocity profiles are employed as illustrating examples. The solutions to the slip MHD flow are derived from the general solution and discussed in detail. Different from self-similar boundary layer flows, the flows studied in this work have solutions in explicit analytical forms. However, the current flows require special mass transfer at the wall, which is determined by the moving velocity of the sheet. The effects of the slip parameter, the mass transfer at the wall, and the magnetic field on the flow are also demonstrated.  相似文献

This theoretical investigation aims to highlight the unsteady freely convective fractional motion of a Jeffery fluid near an infinite vertical plate. The additional effects of ramped velocity condition, Newtonian heating, magnetohydrodynamics (MHD), and nonlinear radiative heat flux are also examined. A system of fractional order partial differential equations is established by choosing Caputo-Fabrizio fractional derivative as a foundation. Laplace transformation followed by an adequate choice of unit-less parameters is executed to solve the subsequent ordinary differential equations. Stehfest’s and Zakian’s numerical algorithms are invoked to find and justify the inverse Laplace transform of velocity and shear stress. Temperature and velocity gradients are evaluated at the wall to effectively probe the rate of heat transfer and shear stress. In this regard, numerical computations of Nusselt number and shear stress for several inputs of connected parameters are tabulated. Furthermore, graphical elucidations of velocity and temperature profiles are provided to observe the rise and fall subjected to variation in several parameters. Additionally, the velocity profile for both ramped boundary condition and constant boundary condition is analyzed to get a deep insight into the physical phenomenon of the considered problem. Finally, a comparative analysis between Jeffery fluid and second grade fluid is carried out for both factional and ordinary cases, and it is determined that Jeffery fluids exhibit rapid motion in both cases.  相似文献

This article investigates an unbiased analysis for the unsteady two-dimensional laminar flow of an incompressible, electrically and thermally conducting fluid across the space separated by two infinite rotating permeable walls. The influence of entropy generation, Hall and slip effects are considered within the flow analysis. The problem is modeled based on valid physical arguments and the unsteady system of dimensionless PDEs (partial differential equations) are solved with the help of Finite Difference Scheme. In the presence of pertinent parameters, the precise movement of the flow in terms of velocity, temperature, entropy generation rate, and Bejan numbers are presented graphically, which are parabolic in nature. Streamline profiles are also presented, which exemplify the accurate movement of the flow. The current study is one of the infrequent contributions to the existing literature as previous studies have not attempted to solve the system of high order non-linear PDEs for the unsteady flow with entropy generation and Hall effects in a permeable rotating channel. It is expected that the current analysis would provide a platform for solving the system of nonlinear PDEs of the other unexplored models that are associated to the two-dimensional unsteady flow in a rotating channel.  相似文献

This work aims to study magnetohydrodynamic flow through a circular cylinder in a horizontal position of SWCNTs in blood as a base fluid in the existence of non-linear thermal radiation and heat source/sink. Three kinds of nanoparticles shapes are considered. The study is employed the finite element technique to explore and enhance the influences of essential parameters on temperature profiles and is debated the heat transport within blood injects with SWCNTs and exposes to electromagnetic radiation. The treatment with thermal analysis and heat transfer rate being a better substitute more than surgery and chemotherapy for cancer therapy. Utilizing of nanoparticles thermal features is a mounting area of nanomedicine field because of the probable for purposeful demolition of cancer cells. This remedy is relied on many parameters, including nanofluid thermal conductivity, nanoparticles volume fraction, thermal radiation and power and heat source. The numerical solutions for flow and heat transfer features are assessed for diverse governing parameters values. The obtained results are substantiated against the relevant numerical results in the published researches. Results show that both flow velocity and temperature increase for larger values of thermal radiation, heat source and SWCNTs volume fraction with lamina and cylinder shapes. Also, spherical shape of SWCNTs occurs high disturbances in velocity and temperature distribution in the case of cooled cylinder.  相似文献

An investigation is carried out on mixed convection boundary layer flow of an incompressible and electrically conducting viscoelastic fluid over a linearly stretching surface in which the heat transfer includes the effects of viscous dissipation, elastic deformation, thermal radiation, and non-uniform heat source/sink for two general types of non-isothermal boundary conditions. The governing partial differential equations for the fluid flow and temperature are reduced to a nonlinear system of ordinary differential equations which are solved analytically using the homotopy analysis method (HAM). Graphical and numerical demonstrations of the convergence of the HAM solutions are provided, and the effects of various parameters on the skin friction coefficient and wall heat transfer are tabulated. In addition, it is demonstrated that previously reported solutions of the thermal energy equation given in [1] do not converge at the boundary, and therefore, the boundary derivatives reported are not correct.  相似文献

In this article, the unsteady magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) stagnation point flow and heat transfer of a nanofluid over a stretching/shrinking sheet is investigated numerically. The similarity solution is used to reduce the governing system of partial differential equations to a set of nonlinear ordinary differential equations which are then solved numerically using the fourth-order Runge-Kutta method with shooting technique. The ambient fluid velocity, stretching/shrinking velocity of sheet, and the wall temperature are assumed to vary linearly with the distance from the stagnation point. To investigate the influence of various pertinent parameters, graphical results for the local Nusselt number, the skin friction coefficient, velocity profile, and temperature profile are presented for different values of the governing parameters for three types of nanoparticles, namely copper, alumina, and titania in the water-based fluid. It is found that the dual solution exists for the decelerating flow. Numerical results show that the extent of the dual solution domain increases with the increases of velocity ratio, magnetic parameter, and permeability parameter whereas it remains constant as the value of solid volume fraction of nanoparticles changes. Also, it is found that permeability parameter has a greater effect on the flow and heat transfer of a nanofluid than the magnetic parameter.  相似文献

Based on the dual variational formulation of the nonlinear stationary heat conduction problem, a mathematical model is constructed that describes the temperature state of a stationary medium in a volume of an arbitrary shape. The thermal conductivity of the medium and the volumetric energy release depend on the temperature. This model is applied to analyzing the conditions of thermal explosion in an infinitely long circular cylinder for exponential temperature dependences of the above parameters. In the particular case of constant thermal conductivity of this cylinder, a comparison with the published results is carried out.  相似文献
