There are three possibilities for the introduction of angular momentum eigenfunctions in the vector-meson-theory: 1. Multipole fields, 2. orbital angular momentum eigenfunctions, 3. helicity eigenfunctions. We shall define these functions by eigenvalue equations and present their mutual relationship. In analogy to the usual momentum quantization we may quantize the field with respect to each of the three systems of angular momentum eigenfunctions.  相似文献

Quantum systems whose classical counterpart have ergodic dynamics are quantum ergodic in the sense that almost all eigenstates are uniformly distributed in phase space. In contrast, when the classical dynamics is integrable, there is concentration of eigenfunctions on invariant structures in phase space. In this paper we study eigenfunction statistics for the Laplacian perturbed by a delta-potential (also known as a point scatterer) on a flat torus, a popular model used to study the transition between integrability and chaos in quantum mechanics. The eigenfunctions of this operator consist of eigenfunctions of the Laplacian which vanish at the scatterer, and new, or perturbed, eigenfunctions. We show that almost all of the perturbed eigenfunctions are uniformly distributed in configuration space.  相似文献

Modal cross coupling usually exists in wavefront estimation through Zernike polynomials. In order to cope with the problem, the eigenfunctions of Laplacian with Neumann boundary condition are proposed instead of Zernike polynomials to reconstruct phase from wavefront gradient or curvature sensing. It is proved theoretically that these modals can avoid modal cross coupling in both wavefront gradient sensing and curvature sensing. In wavefront gradient sensing, the coefficients of eigenfunctions of Laplacian can be obtained from the integral of the scalar product between the gradient of Laplacian's eigenfunctions and wavefront gradient signal. In wavefront curvature sensing, the coefficients of eigenfunctions of Laplacian can be calculated from the integral of the product of Laplacian's eigenfunctions and wavefront curvature signal. This approach is applicable on arbitrary apertures as long as eigenfunctions of Laplacian on apertures of arbitrary shape can be obtained.  相似文献

An approximation method based on the iterative technique is developed within the framework of linear delta expansion (LDE) technique for the eigenvalues and eigenfunctions of the one-dimensional and three-dimensional realistic physical problems. This technique allows us to obtain the coefficient in the perturbation series for the eigenfunctions and the eigenvalues directly by knowing the eigenfunctions and the eigenvalues of the unperturbed problems in quantum mechanics. Examples are presented to support this. Hence, the LDE technique can be used for nonperturbative as well as perturbative systems to find approximate solutions of eigenvalue problems.  相似文献

We present experimental results on eigenfunctions of a wave chaotic system in the continuous crossover regime between time-reversal symmetric and time-reversal symmetry-broken states. The statistical properties of the eigenfunctions of a two-dimensional microwave resonator are analyzed as a function of an experimentally determined time-reversal symmetry-breaking parameter. We test four theories of one-point eigenfunction statistics and introduce a new theory relating the one-point and two-point statistical properties in the crossover regime. We also find a universal correlation between the one-point and two-point statistical parameters for the crossover eigenfunctions.  相似文献

We study linear excitations to a one-dimensional dark soliton described by a defocusing nonlinear Schödinger equation. By solving an eigenvalue problem for the excitations we obtain all eigenvalues and eigenfunctions and prove rigorously that these eigenfunctions are orthonormal and form a complete set. We then use the eigenfunctions to obtain the exact form of linear excitations for any given initial condition and to investigate the transverse stability of the dark soliton. The rigorous results reported in the present work can be applied to study the dynamics of dark solitons in various nonlinear optical media and Bose-Einstein condensates.  相似文献

We study semiclassical eigenvalues and eigenfunctions of the Schrödinger operator on a geometric graph. We show that nontrivial boundary conditions at vertices lead to the existence of eigenfunctions, concentrated near a single vertex. We also construct semiclassical eigenfunctions, localized near edges and discuss general construction of spectral series which correspond to a general subgraph.  相似文献

We investigate statistical properties of the eigenfunctions of the Schrödinger operator on families of star graphs with incommensurate bond lengths. We show that these eigenfunctions are not quantum ergodic in the limit as the number of bonds tends to infinity by finding an observable for which the quantum matrix elements do not converge to the classical average. We further show that for a given fixed graph there are subsequences of eigenfunctions which localise on pairs of bonds. We describe how to construct such subsequences explicitly. These structures are analogous to scars on short unstable periodic orbits.  相似文献

Motivated by problems of mathematical physics (quantum chaos) questions of equidistribution of eigenfunctions of the Laplace operator on a Riemannian manifold have been studied by several authors. We consider here, in analogy with arithmetic hyperbolic surfaces, orthonormal bases of eigenfunctions of the Laplace operator on the two dimensional unit sphere which are also eigenfunctions of an algebra of Hecke operators which act on these spherical harmonics. We formulate an analogue of the equidistribution of mass conjecture for these eigenfunctions as well as of the conjecture that their moments tend to moments of the Gaussian as the eigenvalue increases. For such orthonormal bases we show that these conjectures are related to the analytic properties of degree eight arithmetic L-functions associated to triples of eigenfunctions. Moreover we establish the conjecture for the third moments and give a conditional (on standard analytic conjectures about these arithmetic L-functions) proof of the equidistribution of mass conjecture. An approximate formula is proposed for the decay rate of energy eigenfunctions in classically energetically inaccessible regions in more than one-dimensional configuration spaces. This is achieved by generalizing an approach proposed recently for energy eigenfunctions in the one-dimensional configuration space. The field on the surface of a structure having nonseparable geometry may be expanded in a set of eigenfunctions suitable for that particular geometry. The eigenfunctions are computed numerically using the boundary elements method to compute a matrix that relates the field on the surface of the structure to its normal derivative at vanishing frequency and diagonalizing the matrix. The field on the surface of a finite cylinder with hemisphical end-caps is expanded in such a set of eigenfunctions for both a simple cylinder and a cylinder containing frames. Results for the framed cylinder is compared to Fourier decomposition of the field on the cylindrical portion of the structure.  相似文献

It is shown that the complete spectrum, continuous as well as discrete, and corresponding eigenfunctions of the Vlasov operator can be obtained by a single perturbation procedure from the purely continuous spectrum and corresponding eigenfunctions of the free-streaming operator. We use the Whittaker vectors and the Drinfeld Casimir element to show that eigenfunctions of the difference Toda Hamiltonian can be expressed via fermionic formulas. Motivated by the combinatorics of the fermionic formulas we use the representation theory of the quantum groups to prove a number of identities for the coefficients of the eigenfunctions.  相似文献

An automated procedure for determining symmetry-adapted spin eigenfunctions is developed for the Dn symmetry groups with n equivalent spins for arbitrary size of I and for n=3,…,6. These eigenfunctions are also eigenfunctions of the vector sum of the n equivalent nuclear spins. Generalized hyperfine spin operators are developed that have real matrix elements and that exploit the full symmetry. These spin operators can be combined with operators for other spins and molecular rotation using only real arithmetic.  相似文献
