In this note we consider the Gross-Pitaevskii equation i t ++(1–2)=0, where is a complex-valued function defined on N×, and study the following 2-parameters family of solitary waves: (x, t)=e it v(x 1ct, x), where and x denotes the vector of the last N–1 variables in N . We prove that every distribution solution , of the considered form, satisfies the following universal (and sharp) L -bound:
This bound has two consequences. The first one is that is smooth and the second one is that a solution 0 exists, if and only if . We also prove a non-existence result for some solitary waves having finite energy. Some more general nonlinear Schrödinger equations are considered in the third and last section. The Navier-Stokes equations for compressible barotropic fluid in 1D with the mass force under zero velocity boundary conditions are studied. We prove the uniform upper and lower bounds for the density as well as the uniform in time L 2()-estimates for x and u x (u is the velocity). Moreover, a collection of the decay rate estimates for - (with being the stationary density) and u in 2()-norm and H 1()-norm as time t are established. The results are given for general state function p() (but mainly monotone) and viscosity coefficient µ() of arbitrarily fast (or slow) growth as well as for the large data.  相似文献

We prove a higher integrability result for the gradient of solutions to some degenerate elliptic PDEs, whose model arises in the study of mappings with finite distortion.The nonnegative function which measures the degree of degeneracy of ellipticity bounds lies in the exponential class, i.e. is integrable for some > 0.Our result states that if is sufficiently large, then the gradient of a finite energy solution actually belongs to the Zygmund space LplogL, 1.  相似文献

We derive an explicit formula for the isoperimetric defect of an arbitrary minimal surface ,in terms of a double integral over the surface of certain geometric quantities, together with a double boundary integral which always has the correct sign. As a by-product of these computations we show that the best known universal isoperimetric estimate, that for any minimal surface (due to L. We study adiabatic decoupling for Dirac equation with some scaling which yields that the mass appears with a coefficient where is the semi-classical parameter and > 0. Therefore, the system presents an avoided crossing. The scale = 1/2 is critical: adiabatic decoupling holds for (0,1/2) while for 1/2, there is energy transfer at leading order between the two modes. We describe this transfer in terms of two-scale Wigner measures by means of Landau-Zener formula which takes into account the change of polarization of the measures after the crossing.  相似文献

The converse holds true whenever a form of stability of the sublevel sets of the limit function is verified. The results are obtained by regarding a hyperspace topology as the weakest topology for which each member of an appropriate family of excess functionals is upper semicontinuous, and each member of an appropriate family of gap functionals is lower semicontinuous. Summary We prove a variational inequality linking the values of the free energy per site at different temperatures. This inequality is based on the Legendre transform of the free energy of two replicas of the system. We prove that equality holds when1/ and fails when 1/ <1. We deduce from this that the mean entropy per site of the uniform distribution with respect to the distribution of the coupling i 1 i 2 = i between two replicas is null when 01/ and strictly positive when 1/ <1. We exhibit thus a new secondary critical phenomenon within the high temperature region 01. We given an interpretation of this phenomenon showing that the fluctuations of the law of the coupling with the interactions remains strong in the thermodynamic limit when>1/ . We also use our inequality numerically within the low temperature region to improve (slightly) the best previously known lower bounds for the free energy and the ground state energy per site.  相似文献

For a class of elliptic boundary value problems with discontinuous nonlinearities, the existence of strong solutions is established. Two applications are then developed. In particular, one of them is devoted to implicit elliptic equations of the form (–u)=(u), where is a continuous function and has a set of discontinuity points of Lebesgue measure zero.
