We consider sums of independent random variables within the scheme of series. We focus on the case where every summand has a zero mean and finite variance and sums have unit variances. We obtain a criterion of stochastic compactness (defined by W. Feller) for sequences of distributions of such sums. We consider a random process which is some version of the Brownian bridge in the space SL(2,R). Under simplifying assumptions we show that the increments of this process increase as t as in the case of the usual Brownian motion in the Euclidean space. We study the spectral properties of a one-dimensional Schrödinger operator with squareintegrable potential whose domain is defined by the Dirichlet boundary conditions. The main results are concerned with the asymptotics of the eigenvalues, the asymptotic behavior of the operator semigroup generated by the negative of the differential operator under consideration. Moreover, we derive deviation estimates for the spectral projections and estimates for the equiconvergence of the spectral decompositions. Our asymptotic formulas for eigenvalues refine the well-known ones.  相似文献

We show there exists a constant 0 < c0 < 1 such that the dimension of every measure on [0, 1], which makes the digits in the continued fraction expansion independent, is at most 1 ? c0. This extends a result of Kifer, Peres and Weiss from 2001, which established this under the additional assumption of stationarity. For k ≥ 1 we prove an analogous statement for measures under which the digits form a *-mixing k-step Markov chain. This is also generalized to the case of f-expansions. In some earlier publications it has been shown that the solutions of the boundary integral equations for some mixed boundary value problems for the Helmholtz equation permit integral representations in terms of solutions of associated complicated singular algebraic ordinary differential equations. The solutions of these differential equations, however, are required to be known on some infinite interval on the real line, which is unsatisfactory from a practical point of view. In this paper, for the example of one specific boundary integral equation, the relevant solutions of the associated differential equation are expressed by integrals which contain only one unknown generalized function, the support of this generalized function is no longer unbounded but a compact subset of the real line. This generalized function is a distributional solution of the homogeneous boundary integral equation. By this null space distribution the boundary integral equation can be solved for arbitrary right-hand sides, this solution method can be considered of being analogous to the method of variation of parameters in the theory of ordinary differential equations. The nature of the singularities of the null space distribution is worked out and it is shown that the null space distribution itself can be expressed by solutions of the associated ordinary differential equation.  相似文献

The present paper is concerned with the method of Iterated Defect Correction (IDeC) for two-point boundary value problems. We investigate the contractive behaviour of the IDeC iteration in a completely discrete setting. Our results (which are a generalization of classical results based on asymptotic expansions of the discretization error) imply the stability of the collocation method which defines the fixed point of the IDeC iteration.  相似文献

We consider some linear Schrödinger equation with variable coefficients associated to a smooth symmetric metric g which can be degenerate, without sign and such that g has a submatrix of fixed rank v which is uniformly nondegenerate. In this general setting we prove Strichartz estimates with a loss of derivative on the solution. We also discuss the problem of the control of high frequencies. This paper studies the linear EV model when replicate observations are made only on independent variables. We construct the estimates of regression coefficients and prove the consistency and asymptotic normality under some proper conditions. Results obtained reveal the difference between the case where the independent and dependent variables are observed repeatedly and simultaneously and the case studied in this article.  相似文献

We establish a Hörmander type spectral multiplier theorem for a Schrödinger operator \(H=-\Delta +V(x)\) in \(\mathbb {R}^3\), provided V is contained in a large class of short range potentials. This result does not require the Gaussian heat kernel estimate for the semigroup \(e^{-tH}\), and indeed the operator H may have negative eigenvalues.
