The authors consider boundary value problems for the Navier–Stokes system in a polyhedral domain, where different boundary conditions (in particular, Dirichlet, Neumann, slip conditions) are arbitrarily combined on the faces of the polyhedron. They prove existence and regularity theorems for weak solutions in weighted (and nonweighted) L p Sobolev and Hölder spaces with sharp integrability and smoothness parameters.  相似文献

We study the nonhomogeneous boundary value problem for Navier–Stokes equations of steady motion of a viscous incompressible fluid in a two-dimensional, bounded, multiply connected domain ${\Omega = \Omega_1 \backslash \overline{\Omega}_2, \overline\Omega_2\subset \Omega_1}$ . We prove that this problem has a solution if the flux ${\mathcal{F}}$ of the boundary value through 2 is nonnegative (inflow condition). The proof of the main result uses the Bernoulli law for a weak solution to the Euler equations and the one-sided maximum principle for the total head pressure corresponding to this solution.  相似文献

In this work we study the fully nonhomogeneous initial boundary value problem for the two-dimensional time-dependent Navier–Stokes equations in a general open space domain in R2 with low regularity assumptions on the initial and the boundary value data. We show that the perturbed Navier–Stokes operator is a diffeomorphism from a suitable function space onto its own dual and as a corollary we get that the Navier–Stokes equations are uniquely solvable in these spaces and that the solution depends smoothly on all involved data. Our source data space and solution space are in complete natural duality and in this sense, without any smallness assumptions on the data, we solve the equations for data with optimally low regularity in both space and time.  相似文献

We study the existence and uniqueness of regular solutions to the Navier–Stokes initial-boundary value problem with non-decaying bounded initial data, in a smooth exterior domain of ${{\mathbb R}^n, n\ge3}$ . The pressure field, p, associated to these solutions may grow, for large |x|, as O(|x| γ ), for some ${\gamma\in (0,1)}$ . Our class of existence is sharp for well posedeness, in that we show that uniqueness fails if p has a linear growth at infinity. We also provide a sufficient condition on the spatial growth of ${\nabla p}$ for the boundedness of v, at all times. Also this latter result is shown to be sharp.  相似文献

The purpose of this paper is to study a boundary value problem of Robin-transmission type for the nonlinear Darcy–Forchheimer–Brinkman and Navier–Stokes systems in two adjacent bounded Lipschitz domains in \({{\mathbb{R}}^{n} (n\in \{2,3\})}\), with linear transmission conditions on the internal Lipschitz interface and a linear Robin condition on the remaining part of the Lipschitz boundary. We also consider a Robin-transmission problem for the same nonlinear systems subject to nonlinear transmission conditions on the internal Lipschitz interface and a nonlinear Robin condition on the remaining part of the boundary. For each of these problems we exploit layer potential theoretic methods combined with fixed point theorems in order to show existence results in Sobolev spaces, when the given data are suitably small in \({L^2}\)-based Sobolev spaces or in some Besov spaces. For the first mentioned problem, which corresponds to linear Robin and transmission conditions, we also show a uniqueness result. Note that the Brinkman–Forchheimer-extended Darcy equation is a nonlinear equation that describes saturated porous media fluid flows.  相似文献

This paper concerns the 3-dimensional Lagrangian Navier–Stokes α model and the limiting Navier–Stokes system on smooth bounded domains with a class of vorticity-slip boundary conditions and the Navier-slip boundary conditions. It establishes the spectrum properties and regularity estimates of the associated Stokes operators, the local well-posedness of the strong solution and global existence of weak solutions for initial boundary value problems for such systems. Furthermore, the vanishing α limit to a weak solution of the corresponding initial-boundary value problem of the Navier–Stokes system is proved and a rate of convergence is shown for the strong solution.  相似文献

We investigate the relationship between the time decay of the solutions u of the Navier–Stokes system on a bounded open subset of and the time decay of the right-hand sides f. In suitable function spaces, we prove that u always inherits at least part of the decay of f, up to exponential, and that the decay properties of u depend only upon the amount and type (e.g., exponential, or power-like) of decay of f. This is done by first making clear what is meant by “type” and “amount” of decay and by next elaborating upon recent abstract results pointing to the fact that, in linear and nonlinear PDEs, the decay of the solutions is often intimately related to the Fredholmness of the differential operator. This work was done while the second author was visiting the Bernoulli Center, EPFL, Switzerland, whose support is gratefully acknowledged.  相似文献

We investigate a class of weak solutions, the so-called very weak solutions, to stationary and nonstationary Navier–Stokes equations in a bounded domain . This notion was introduced by Amann [3], [4] for the nonstationary case with nonhomogeneous boundary data leading to a very large solution class of low regularity. Here we are mainly interested in the investigation of the “largest possible” class of solutions u for the more general problem with arbitrary divergence k = div u, boundary data g = u|∂Ω and an external force f, as weak as possible, but maintaining uniqueness. In principle, we will follow Amann’s approach.  相似文献

In this paper we investigate the issue of the inviscid limit for the compressible Navier–Stokes system in an impermeable fixed bounded domain. We consider two kinds of boundary conditions. The first one is the no-slip condition. In this case we extend the famous conditional result (Kato, T.: Remarks on zero viscosity limit for nonstationary Navier–Stokes flows with boundary. In: Seminar on nonlinear partial differential equations, vol. 2, pp. 85–98. Math. Sci. Res. Inst. Publ., Berkeley 1984) obtained by Kato in the homogeneous incompressible case. Kato proved that if the energy dissipation rate of the viscous flow in a boundary layer of width proportional to the viscosity vanishes then the solutions of the incompressible Navier–Stokes equations converge to some solutions of the incompressible Euler equations in the energy space. We provide here a natural extension of this result to the compressible case. The other case is the Navier condition which encodes that the fluid slips with some friction on the boundary. In this case we show that the convergence to the Euler equations holds true in the energy space, as least when the friction is not too large. In both cases we use in a crucial way some relative energy estimates proved recently by Feireisl et al. in J. Math. Fluid Mech. 14:717–730 (2012).  相似文献

We prove that there exists an interval of time which is uniform in the vanishing viscosity limit and for which the Navier–Stokes equation with the Navier boundary condition has a strong solution. This solution is uniformly bounded in a conormal Sobolev space and has only one normal derivative bounded in L . This allows us to obtain the vanishing viscosity limit to the incompressible Euler system from a strong compactness argument.  相似文献

We introduce a variational approach to treat the regularity of the Navier–Stokes equations both in dimensions 2 and 3. Though the method allows the full treatment in dimension 2, we seek to precisely stress where it breaks down for dimension 3. The basic feature of the procedure is to look directly for strong solutions, by minimizing a suitable error functional that measures the departure of feasible fields from being a solution of the problem. By considering the divergence-free property as part of feasibility, we are able to avoid the explicit analysis of the pressure. Two main points in our analysis are:
Coercivity for the error functional is achieved by looking at scaling.  相似文献

We prove the existence of a weak solution to the steady Navier–Stokes problem in a three dimensional domain Ω, whose boundary ∂Ω consists of M unbounded components Γ1, . . . , Γ M and NM bounded components Γ M+1, . . . , Γ N . We use the inhomogeneous Dirichlet boundary condition on ∂Ω. The prescribed velocity profile α on ∂Ω is assumed to have an L 3-extension to Ω with the gradient in L 2(Ω)3×3. We assume that the fluxes of α through the bounded components Γ M+1, . . . , Γ N of ∂Ω are “sufficiently small”, but we impose no restriction on the size of fluxes through the unbounded components Γ1, . . . , Γ M .  相似文献

We consider the Navier–Stokes equations for the motion of compressible, viscous flows in a half-space ${\mathbb{R}^n_+,}$ n =  2,  3, with the no-slip boundary conditions. We prove the existence of a global weak solution when the initial data are close to a static equilibrium. The density of the weak solution is uniformly bounded and does not contain a vacuum, the velocity is Hölder continuous in (x, t) and the material acceleration is weakly differentiable. The weak solutions of this type were introduced by D. Hoff in Arch Ration Mech Anal 114(1):15–46, (1991), Commun Pure and Appl Math 55(11):1365–1407, (2002) for the initial-boundary value problem in ${\Omega = \mathbb{R}^n}$ and for the problem in ${\Omega = \mathbb{R}^n_+}$ with the Navier boundary conditions.  相似文献

We consider the problem of a body moving within an incompressible fluid at constant speed parallel to a wall in an otherwise unbounded domain. This situation is modeled by the incompressible Navier–Stokes equations in a planar exterior domain in a half space with appropriate boundary conditions on the wall, the body, and at infinity. We focus on the case where the size of the body is small. We prove in a very general setup that the solution of this problem is unique and we compute a sharp decay rate of the solution far from the moving body and the wall.  相似文献

We study the initial-boundary value problem for the Stokes equations with Robin boundary conditions in the half-space It is proved that the associated Stokes operator is sectorial and admits a bounded H-calculus on As an application we prove also a local existence result for the nonlinear initial value problem of the Navier–Stokes equations with Robin boundary conditions.  相似文献

We prove Lp-Lq estimates of the Oseen semigroup in n-dimensional exterior domains which refine and improve those obtained by Kobayashi and Shibata [15]. As an application, we give a globally in time stability theory for the stationary Navier–Stokes flow whose velocity at infinity is a non-zero constant vector. We thus extend the result of Shibata [21]. In particular, we find an optimal rate of convergence of solutions of the non-stationary problem to those of the corresponding stationary problem.  相似文献

By definition, the principal problem of the two-dimensional theory of elasticity consists in solving the equation for the Airy’s stress function in a region with its first order derivatives assigned at a boundary. In this paper, an indirect formulation of this problem based on integral equations with weakly singular kernels is proposed. In a bounded region with a Lyapunov boundary it is reduced to the solution of weakly singular integral equations. Differential properties of its solution are investigated.  相似文献

We study the vanishing viscosity limit of the compressible Navier–Stokes equations to the Riemann solution of the Euler equations that consists of the superposition of a shock wave and a rarefaction wave. In particular, it is shown that there exists a family of smooth solutions to the compressible Navier–Stokes equations that converges to the Riemann solution away from the initial and shock layers at a rate in terms of the viscosity and the heat conductivity coefficients. This gives the first mathematical justification of this limit for the Navier–Stokes equations to the Riemann solution that contains these two typical nonlinear hyperbolic waves.  相似文献
