We present full phase stabilization of an amplified Yb:fiber femtosecond frequency comb using an intracavity electro-optic modulator and an acousto-optic modulator. These transducers provide high servo bandwidths of 580 kHz and 250 kHz for f(rep) and f(ceo), producing a robust and low phase noise fiber frequency comb. The comb was self-referenced with an f-2f interferometer and phase locked to an ultrastable optical reference used for the JILA Sr optical clock at 698 nm, exhibiting 0.21 rad and 0.47 rad of integrated phase errors (over 1 mHz-1 MHz), respectively. Alternatively, the comb was locked to two optical references at 698 nm and 1064 nm, obtaining 0.43 rad and 0.14 rad of integrated phase errors, respectively. 相似文献

Two independently tunable femtosecond Ti:sapphire lasers are passively synchronized with a stable relative carrier-envelope offset phase. By heterodyning the spectral overlap of the two frequency combs, we observe multiple regimes for the cavity length difference in which the relative round-trip phase slip is effectively locked to zero. The strong correlation of the femtosecond pulse trains is maintained over minutes without any external stabilization, and relative cavity length variations of 50 nm are compensated. The phase synchronization relies on phase-dependent cross-phase modulation, taking full advantage of the nonresonant optical nonlinearity of the shared gain medium, which is much faster than the optical cycle. 相似文献

We implement a simple optical clock based on the F2(2) [P(7), v3] optical transition in methane. A single femtosecond laser's frequency comb undergoes difference frequency generation to provide an IR comb at 3.39 microm with a null carrier-envelope offset. This IR comb provides a phase-coherent link between the 88-THz optical reference and the rf repetition rate. Comparison of the repetition rate signal with a second femtosecond comb stabilized to molecular iodine shows an instability of 1.2 x 10(-13) at 1 s, limited by microwave detection of the repetition rates. The single-sideband phase noise of the microwave signal, normalized to a carrier frequency of 1 GHz, is below -93 dBc/Hz at 1-Hz offset. 相似文献

The frequency-domain mode comb of a Ti:sapphire femtosecond laser centered at 350 THz is broadened to 150 THz (full width at -30 dBc) by self-phase modulation in a single-mode optical fiber. By phase locking continuous-wave lasers to elements of the comb near 1064 and 778 nm, we measure the 104-THz frequency gap between these two lasers with a relative uncertainty of 2.7 x 10(-11) in 1 s. 相似文献

We observed the phase relation among subharmonic pulses generated by a femtosecond optical parametric oscillator (OPO). The ratio of the optical frequencies of the idler, the signal, and the pump pulses was set to 1:2:3. Under these conditions the wavelengths of the second harmonic of the signal pulse and the sum frequency between the pump and the idler pulses are the same. The beat signal between these two pulses represents the phase relationship among the pump, the signal, and the idler. The beat frequency varied when the cavity length of the OPO was changed. 相似文献

使用波长800 nm、脉冲宽度150f s的近红外激光脉冲紧聚焦到PMMA(聚甲基丙烯酸甲酯)和熔融石英中实现了三维逐位式光数据存储,分别记录下了5、10、 15和20层数据位点.利用相位对比光学显微原理对各层数据并行读出,实验分析了各层数据位点的读出对比度的变化.结果表明:各层数据位点的折射率对比度由内至外依次增加,记录层数越多,其内部层的对比度下降越明显.由于飞秒激光脉冲与透明介质相互作用中,熔融石英内部产生的残余应力比PMMA内大,因此数据位点参数相同的情况下,利用PMMA材料记录的层数更多. 相似文献

When a photo-diode is illuminated by a pulse train from a femtosecond laser, it generates microwaves components at the harmonics
of the repetition rate within its bandwidth. The phase of these components (relative to the optical pulse train) is known
to be dependent on the optical energy per pulse. We present an experimental study of this dependence in InGaAs pin photo-diodes
illuminated with ultra-short pulses generated by an Erbium-doped fiber based femtosecond laser. The energy to phase dependence
is measured over a large range of impinging pulse energies near and above saturation for two typical detectors, commonly used
in optical frequency metrology with femtosecond laser based optical frequency combs. When scanning the optical pulse energy,
the coefficient which relates phase variations to energy variations is found to alternate between positive and negative values,
with many (for high harmonics of the repetition rate) vanishing points. By operating the system near one of these vanishing
points, the typical amplitude noise level of commercial-core fiber-based femtosecond lasers is sufficiently low to generate
state-of-the-art ultra-low phase noise microwave signals, virtually immune to amplitude to phase conversion related noise. 相似文献

分析计算了利用棱镜组引进频谱空间啁啾来补偿谐波倍频晶体的相位失配.结果表明,光谱 存在空间啁啾时,选择合适的透镜可在一定程度上补偿由于飞秒光脉冲的宽谱带引起的相位失配.采用此方法在实验上用自制的飞秒自锁模钛宝石激光器和BBO倍频晶体进行了二次谐波 倍频的研究,结果产生倍频蓝光的转换效率高达63%,蓝光平均输出功率达320mW,中心波长 为420nm,光谱带宽达5.5nm,可支持33.6fs的光脉冲.利用钛宝石激光器中的棱镜对进行波 长调谐,可使蓝光脉冲产生404—420nm的调谐范围.

We demonstrated on a synchronously pumped femtosecond optical parametric oscillator with dual-signal-wavelength operation. Our results showed that the dual-wavelength oscillation is not determined by the net-zero dispersion but rather by the balance of phase matching and group-velocity mismatching caused by the nonlinear crystal between the two signals. With a MgO-doped periodically poled lithium niobate as the nonlinear crystal, total signal power up to 530 mW was obtained by using a 2.6 W femtosecond Ti:sapphire laser at the central wavelength of 808 nm as the pump source, corresponding to a conversion efficiency of 20.4%. By slightly adjusting the cavity length, the signal wavelength can be broadly tuned from 1001 to 1438 nm and the dual-wavelength tuning range is from 1001 to 1204 nm. 相似文献

Femtosecond-laser-based synthesis of ultrastable microwave signals from optical frequency references

We use femtosecond laser frequency combs to convert optical frequency references to the microwave domain, where we demonstrate the synthesis of 10-GHz signals having a fractional frequency instability of < or =3.5 x 10(-15) at a 1-s averaging time, limited by the optical reference. The residual instability and phase noise of the femtosecond-laser-based frequency synthesizers are 6.5 x 10(-16) at 1 s and -98 dBc/Hz at a 1-Hz offset from the 10-GHz carrier, respectively. The timing jitter of the microwave signals is 3.3 fs. 相似文献

Silicon nanoparticles were produced by femtosecond laser ablation in ambient air. Obtained samples were studied using dark-field optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy and Raman-scattering spectroscopy. Two groups of structures can be found: (1) branched amorphous structures with a minimum element size of about 10 nm and incorporations of nanocrystals (0.6–6.6 nm from Raman scattering analysis); (2) larger crystal particles with smooth surface and a typical size of 50–200 nm that provide directional visible light scattering (at dark-field optical microscopy observations). An influence of environment on resulting phase composition of silicon nanoparticles was investigated by numerical evaluation of nanoparticle’s cooling rate. The calculation shows that cooling in ambient air ensures cooling rate sufficient for crystallization. 相似文献

A high‐power femtosecond Yb:fiber system is seeded by a phase‐locked Er:fiber source and drives an ultra‐broadband optical parametric amplifier that operates at 10 MHz repetition rate. The resulting pulses display precise control of the carrier‐envelope phase. Their 8.3 fs temporal duration corresponds to 2.3 optical cycles of the 1100 nm carrier wavelength. Focusing 200 nJ of pulse energy into widegap materials generates optical harmonics up to fifth order. Even in a perturbative regime, strong effects of the carrier‐envelope phase on the emitted spectra are observed. 相似文献

We stabilized the relative carrier-envelope phase slip among the pump pulse and its subharmonic signal and idler pulses in a femtosecond optical parametric oscillator, resulting in long-term phasecoherence among the pulses. The stabilized beat signal corresponding to the relative carrier-envelope phase slip among subharmonic pulses had an accumulated phase error of 0.24 rad in the 1-mHz-1-MHz region. The fluctuation of the beat frequency measured by a 1-s-averaged counter was less than 1 mHz in a 1480-s measurement. 相似文献

We demonstrate that the stability of the current optical frequency comb generated by a Kerr-lens mode-locked femtosecond laser is limited by the microwave reference used for phase locking the comb spacing. Hence we implement precision frequency/phase control of the entire comb to the fundamental and second-harmonic frequencies of a stable cw laser without any external microwave reference. The stability of a cw iodine-stabilized laser is transferred to millions of comb lines (with an instability of 3 x 10(-13)) covering more than one octave of the optical frequency spectrum. In addition, the mode spacing of the comb can be used as a stable microwave frequency derived directly from a stable optical oscillator. 相似文献

提出了一种实现大行程飞秒激光脉冲对相位控制的方法。其设计思想是:在迈克耳孙干涉仪中,利用改变激光偏振态的方法改变输出两光束的光程差因子。在对He-Ne激光输出的两束光实现相位锁定的基础上,进而提出了一种可对于超短激光双脉冲相对相位差实现超大行程控制的方法。对He-Ne激光的动态相位锁定、以及飞秒激光脉冲对的相对相位差控制分别作了实验验证。对He-Ne激光的静态相位锁定结果表明干涉仪两臂光程差可以控制在纳米精度;而飞秒激光脉冲测量自相关曲线与理论拟合结果非常接近,经傅里叶变换可得到较好的单峰谱图。该系统能够在实验范围中几乎无行程限制地实现飞秒激光脉冲对的相对相位动态稳定控制。 相似文献

Programmable spectral phase modulation of femtosecond pulses by use of a nonpixelated spatial light modulator is reported. This light valve, based on the optical addressing of a continuous layer of liquid crystal, allows the operation of spectral phase modulation when optical frequency components are spatially dispersed within a grating-and-lenses pulse-shaping apparatus. Characterization and feedback control of this device were determined by use of spectral interferometry. Demonstrations of the capabilities of this device are given in the spectral and the temporal domains, and recompression of chirped pulses was performed. 相似文献

跨倍频程超连续光谱的产生是光学频率梳系统中测量载波包络相移频率的关键.本文采用拉锥单模光纤作为非线性光谱展宽介质, 将半导体激光(LD)抽运的掺镱硼酸钙氧钇(Yb:YCOB)振荡器输出的飞秒激光耦合到该拉锥光纤中, 通过飞秒激光在光纤中发生的相位调制、四波混频等非线性效应将光谱展宽至超过倍频程的范围.振荡器输出的飞秒激光脉冲宽度为130 fs, 中心波长为1052 nm, 重复频率为76.8 MHz, 平均功率为620 mW, 耦合进单模拉锥光纤后获得了光谱覆盖范围从550 nm至1350 nm的跨倍频程超连续光谱, 最大输出平均功率为323 mW, 耦合效率达到52%.为进一步实现全固态飞秒激光光学频率梳提供了重要基础. 相似文献
