时频方法分析长骨中的超声导波及皮质骨厚度   总被引:4,自引:0,他引:4  
超声导波在长骨中传播时,接收信号中含有相互叠加的多个导波模式。本文提出将希尔伯特-黄变换(HHT)用于分析叠加的多模式导波信号,将其分解成许多单个独立的模式,然后对分解出的模式求得其对应频率下的群速度,并与短时傅里叶变换所得的结果进行比较。通过与理论计算结果比较,可得到长骨皮质骨的厚度。研究结果表明,实验得到的厚度与实际厚度一致。说明通过测量导波模式的速度可以评价皮质骨的厚度,也说明HHT方法是一种识别叠加多模式导波信号的有效方法。   相似文献

This paper presents theoretical and experimental studies of axisymmetric longitudinal guided wave L(0,2) interaction with the free edge of the pipe. A numerical method based on normal mode superposition is applied to predict the edge resonance by an analysis of dispersion relations of separate modes. In parallel, the finite element analysis and experimental measurements prove the existence of edge resonance in the pipe in case of L(0,2) wave incidence. It is shown that the edge resonance is mainly caused by the first pair of complex modes. Additionally the behavior of edge resonance phenomenon as a function of the curvature of the pipe is studied. The displacement amplitudes measured at the edge demonstrate that the edge resonance is affected by the frequency and thickness to midradius ratio of the pipe, and it is losing its strength in thicker pipes, as the growing difference between the outer and inner radii destroys symmetry. The reflected energy amplitudes show that at the resonance frequencies the incident wave is strongly converted to L(0,1) and L(0,3) modes, depending also on the curvature parameter of the pipe.  相似文献

利用声-结构耦合有限元法,分别对轴对称分布径的向及轴向外力作用在无限液体介质内未充液及充液管道内壁所激发导波进行了模拟,并进一步利用短时傅里叶变换技术对瞬态波形作时频分析,在此基础上,结合色散及衰减曲线,探讨了外力分布特征对导波激发的影响。研究表明,无限液体介质内未充液管中L(0,2)模式及充液管中L(0,3)~L(0,4)模式皆具有高群速度、弱色散且弱衰减频带,适宜用于缺陷探测,而通过控制轴对称分布外力的频率,并令其沿轴向作用于管内壁或外壁,可实现上述导波模式的高效激发。   相似文献

The ultrasonic signals in long bones contain multiple guided modes which are mutual superposed.The velocities of guided waves in long bones are very sensitive to cortical thickness (CTh).In this paper,Hilbert-Huang transform(HHT) was proposed to analyze multi-mode guided waves,which can decompose superposed waves into many independent modes.Then the group velocity of each mode was obtained at corresponding frequency,which was compared with the results of short time Fourier transform(STFT).The CTh was also obtained by comparing with the theoretical calculation.The results showed that the experimental determined thickness was in agreement with the actual CTh,indicating that measuring the velocity of the guided mode can be used to estimate the CTh.The HHT is an effective method to identify multimode guided waves.  相似文献

The dispersion curves for the feeder pipes in PHWR nuclear power plants were determined. The wave modes used for the detection of notches in the feeder pipe were confirmed as F(m,2) and/or L(0,1) by an analysis of short time Fourier transformation (STFT). The axial notches in the straight pipe were not detectable, but an axial notch in a bent pipe was detected with the mode at the frequency of 500 kHz. Initial F(m,2) and/or L(0,1) modes contains a circumferential displacement and might be converted to certain complicated modes in the bent region, which is sensitive to the axial notch. The circumferential guided wave technique was also applied for quantitative evaluation of the axial notches. The waves generated by a rocking motion of the transducer along the circumferential direction were estimated as the circumferential guided waves after a review of the acquired data and the dispersion curves.  相似文献

It was reported in a previous study that simulated guided wave axial transmission velocities on two-dimensional (2D) numerically reproduced geometry of long bones predicted moderately real in vitro ultrasound data on the same bone samples. It was also shown that fitting of ultrasound velocity with simple analytical model yielded a precise estimate (UTh) for true cortical bone thickness. This current study expands the 2D bone model into three dimensions (3D). To this end, wave velocities and UTh were determined from experiments and from time-domain finite-difference simulations of wave propagation, both performed on a collection of 10 human radii (29 measurement sites). A 3D numerical bone model was developed with tuneable fixed material properties and individualized geometry based on X-ray computed tomography reconstructions of real bones. Simulated UTh data were in good accordance (root-mean-square error was 0.40 mm; r(2)=0.79, p<0.001) with true cortical thickness, and hence the measured phase velocity can be well estimated by using a simple analytical inversion model also in 3D. Prediction of in vitro data was improved significantly (by 10% units) and the upgraded bone model thus explained most of the variability (up to 95% when sites were carefully matched) observed in in vitro ultrasound data.  相似文献

Robust signal processing methods adapted to clinical measurements of guided modes are required to assess bone properties such as cortical thickness and porosity. Recently, an approach based on the singular value decomposition (SVD) of multidimensional signals recorded with an axial transmission array of emitters and receivers has been proposed for materials with negligible absorption, see Minonzio et al. [J. Acoust. Soc. Am. 127, 2913-2919 (2010)]. In presence of absorption, the ability to extract guided mode degrades. The objective of the present study is to extend the method to the case of absorbing media, considering attenuated plane waves (complex wavenumber). The guided mode wavenumber extraction is enhanced and the order of magnitude of the attenuation of the guided mode is estimated. Experiments have been carried out on 2 mm thick plates in the 0.2-2 MHz bandwidth. Two materials are inspected: polymethylacrylate (PMMA) (isotropic with absorption) and artificial composite bones (Sawbones, Pacific Research Laboratory Inc, Vashon, WA) which is a transverse isotropic absorbing medium. Bulk wave velocities and bulk attenuation have been evaluated from transmission measurements. These values were used to compute theoretical Lamb mode wavenumbers which are consistent with the experimental ones obtained with the SVD-based approach.  相似文献

提出谱有限元方法研究层状各向异性复合板中导波的色散特性和波结构。基于三维弹性动力学方程,用有限元方法离散波导截面,波传播方向的位移用简谐波表示,得到了导波色散的特征方程。分析了单层和双层复合板中导波沿不同方向传播的色散特性和波结构,讨论了双层复合板中层厚比对相速度的影响。数值研究结果表明:导波的对称模态沿纤维方向传播时在较宽的频率范围内保持弱色散状态。双层复合板中导波基本模态的相速度在低频时受层厚比的影响较明显,随着频率的增加趋向于相速度较低的材料。数值模拟结果为导波用于复合材料定量无损检测和性能评价提供理论依据。   相似文献

Theoretical and experimental study of the surface plasmon–polariton and guided wave plasmon polariton modes is presented for the Sapphire/Ag/Polycarbonate/Air structure. Theoretical results are obtained by solving complex multilayer eigenvalue equations as well as the reflectivity equation for this structure. It is proposed that the mode attenuation can be significantly reduced by inserting a low index dielectric buffer between the metal and the guiding dielectric layer. The dispersion and attenuation curves are generated. Both the surface plasmon and guided wave plasmon polariton modes are studied experimentally. The experimental values of the effective refractive indices agree well with the theoretical values. The electric field profiles are generated and used to examine the nature of modes. After optimization of various parameters the condition for low loss single mode guiding is obtained for the proposed structure. Effect of metal thickness on surface plasmon mode is also discussed. It is inferred that in a properly optimized plasmonic waveguide, the losses can be reduced by a factor of 4.  相似文献

Guided elastic waves have a great potential in pipe inspection as an efficient and low-cost nondestructive evaluation (NDE) technique, among which the wave of mode L(0, 2) receives a lot of attention because this mode is the fastest mode in a weakly dispersive region of frequency to minimize dispersion effects over a long distance and sensitive to the defects distributed circumferentially. Though many experimental and numerical researches have already been carried out about the excitation of L(0, 2) and its interaction with the defect in a hollow cylinder, its excitation mechanism has not been clarified yet. In this paper based on the transient response solution of the hollow cylinder, derived by the method of eigenfunction expansion, the theory about the exciting mechanism of mode L(0, 2) is advanced and the effects of the spatial distribution, vibration frequency and direction of the external force on the excitation are discussed. And the pure mode L(0, 2) is excited successfully under the parameters obtained through theoretical analysis. Furthermore, its interactions with some kinds of defects in hollow cylinders are simulated with the method of finite element analysis (FEA) and the results agree well with those obtained by other researchers.  相似文献

在二阶微扰近似条件下, 采用导波模式展开分析方法研究了圆管结构中周向导波的非线性效应. 伴随基频周向导波传播所发生的二次谐波, 可视为由一系列二倍频周向导波模式叠加而成. 从动量定理出发, 结合柱坐标系下非线性应力张量及其散度的数学表达式, 针对圆管中某一基频周向导波模式, 推导出相应的二倍频应力张量及二倍频彻体驱动力的数学表达式, 建立了确定二倍频周向导波模式展开系数的控制方程, 得到了伴随基频周向导波传播所发生的二次谐波声场的形式解. 理论分析和数值计算表明, 当构成二次谐波声场的某一二倍频周向导波模式与基频周向导波的相速度匹配时, 该二倍频周向导波模式的位移振幅表现出随传播周向角积累增长的性质; 当两者的相速度失配时, 二倍频周向导波的振幅随传播周向角表现出“拍”效应.  相似文献

Previously it has been demonstrated that cortical bone thickness can be estimated from ultrasonic guided-wave measurements, in an axial transmission configuration, together with an appropriate analytical model. This study considers the impact of bone thickness variation within the measurement region on the ultrasonically determined thickness (UTh). To this end, wave velocities and UTh were determined from experiments and from time-domain finite-difference simulations of wave propagation, both performed on a set of ten human radius specimens (29 measurement sites). A two-dimensional numerical bone model was developed with tunable material properties and individualized geometry based on x-ray computed-tomography reconstructions of human radius. Cortical thickness (CTh) was determined from the latter. UTh data for simulations were indeed in a excellent accordance (root-mean-square error was 0.26 mm; r2=0.94, p<0.001) with average CTh within the measurement region. These results indicate that despite variations in cortical thickness along the propagation path, the measured phase velocity can be satisfactorily modeled by a simple analytical model (the A(0) plate mode in this case). Most of the variability (up to 85% when sites were carefully matched) observed in the in vitro ultrasound data was explained through simulations by variability in the cortical thickness alone.  相似文献

In 1995-1996 the Acoustic Thermometry of Ocean Climate (ATOC) experiment provided an opportunity to study long-range broadband transmissions over a series of months using mode-resolving vertical arrays. A 75-Hz source off the California coast transmitted broadband pulses to receiving arrays in the North Pacific, located at ranges of 3515 and 5171 km. This paper develops a short-time Fourier transform (STFT) processor for estimating the signals propagating in the lowest modes of the ocean waveguide and applies it to analyze data from the ATOC experiment. The STFT provides a convenient framework for examining processing issues associated with broadband signals. In particular, this paper discusses the required frequency resolution for mode estimation, analyzes the broadband performance of two standard modal beamforming algorithms, and explores the time/frequency tradeoffs inherent in broadband mode processing. Short-time Fourier analysis of the ATOC receptions at 3515 km reveals a complicated arrival structure in modes 1-10. This structure is characterized by frequency-selective fading and a high degree of temporal variability. At this range the first ten modes have equal average powers, and the magnitude-squared coherence between the modes is effectively zero. The coherence times of the peaks in the STFT mode estimates are on the order of 5.5 min. An analysis of mean arrival times yields modal dispersion curves and indicates that there are statistically significant shifts in travel time over 5 months of ATOC transmissions.  相似文献

Ge nanocrystals (NCs) embedded in SiO2 are synthesized by ion implantation, and the surface vibrational modes of the Ge NCs are investigated using the low-frequency Raman scattering (LFRS) technique. LFRS studies show distinct low-frequency Raman modes in the range 6.5-21.2 cm−1 for the Ge NCs depending on the implant dose and annealing temperature. These low-frequency Raman modes are attributed to the confined surface acoustic phonon modes of Ge NCs with (0,0) spheroidal mode and (0,3) torsional modes. Our results are in excellent agreement with the recent theoretical predictions of surface vibrational modes in Ge NCs.  相似文献

管道弯头显著改变了导波传播特性,影响了对检测信号的解读,研究弯头对导波传播特性的影响是实现复杂管道系统导波检测的基础。采用半解析有限元法计算弯管导波频散曲线,分析了弯管导波频散曲线所呈现的不同特征,并基于弯管导波频散曲线,以低频L(0,1)模态导波为研究对象,实验研究了低频L(0,1)模态导波通过管道弯头时的模态变换特征。研究结果发现,当L(0,1)模态导波通过管道弯头时,不仅会发生L(0,1)到F(1,1)的模态变换,还会模态变换出反向L(0,1)模态导波,即弯头反射现象,且随着激励频率的降低和弯头弯曲半径的减小,弯头反射现象愈发明显。研究结果将深化对弯管导波传播特性的认识,推动导波检测技术在复杂管道系统检测中的应用。   相似文献

本文研究了特定边界条件下非对称型Kerr类介质膜漏波导中TE0光波的传播特性。计算结果表明,介质膜厚存在一临界值。临界值之上没有导波存在,临界值之下能同时存在强场TE0模和弱场TE0模,它们具有不同的传播波数。这两个模的膜内传播功率、场强峰值位置随膜厚和光场频率的变化各不相同,色散关系也有极大差别。在对称极限之下,弱场TE0模的色散为零。 关键词:  相似文献

Multiple acoustic wave mode method has been proposed as a new modality in axial bone QUS. The new method is based on measurement of ultrasound velocity at different ratio of wavelength to the bone thickness, and taking into account both bulk and guided waves. It allows assessment of changes in both the material properties related to porosity and mineralization as well as the cortical thickness influenced by resorption from inner layers, which are equally important in diagnostics of osteoporosis and other bone osteopenia. Developed method was validated in model studies using a dual-frequency (100 and 500 kHz) ultrasound device. Three types of bone phantoms for long bones were developed and tested: (1) tubular specimens from polymer materials to model combined changes of material stiffness and cortical wall thickness; (2) layered specimens to model porosity in compact bone progressing from endosteum towards periosteum; (3) animal bone specimens with both cortical and trabecular components. Observed changes of the ultrasound velocity of guided waves at 100 kHz followed gradual changes in the thickness of the intact cortical layer. On the other hand, the bulk velocity at 500 kHz remained nearly constant at the different cortical layer thickness but was affected by the material stiffness. Similar trends were observed in phantoms and in fragments of animal bones.  相似文献

The pipe bend significantly changes the propagation characteristics of guided wave,and makes the interpretation of the received signals difficult.Therefore,better understanding of guided wave propagating in bended pipe is essential for the inspection of pipeline comprising bends.First of all,the different features of dispersion curves derived with the semi-analytical finite element method for guided wave in bended pipes are summarized.Secondly,based on the dispersion curves for guided wave in bended pipes,experiments are performed to investigate the mode conversions of L(0,1) mode guided wave traveling through pipe bends.It is found that,except for the mode conversion from L(0,1) to F(1,1),the L(0,1) reflections of bends are also observed in some cases,which are proven to be the mode converted negative L(0,1)mode guided wave,and the negative L(0,1) mode guided wave becomes more obvious with the decrease of excitation frequency and bending radius.The findings of this paper will provide some insight for guided wave behavior in bended pipe,and generalize the application of guided wave inspection in practical pipelines.  相似文献

为方便兰姆波信号分析与模式定征,提出一种将短时傅里叶变换(Short-Time Fourier Transform,STFT)与独立元分析(Independent Component Analysis,ICA)相结合的多模式超声兰姆波识别方法。首先通过STFT将兰姆波时域信号投影至时频域,基于各模式信号在时频域相对独立的特点,利用ICA实现混叠模式分离。根据分离模式时频能量脊提取各模式群速度曲线,进而估计板厚。将方法运用于时域有限差分(Finite-Difference Time-Domain,FDTD)法仿真与钢板实验,分离得到A0、A1和S0三种模式。仿真与实验中平均群速度估计误差约为1.5%和2.0%,板厚估计误差约为0.3%和2.0%。仿真结果表明,在信噪比(Signal-to-Noise Ratio,SNR)不小于0 dB的情况下,时频域独立元分析方法均可实现兰姆波多模式分离、群速度曲线提取及板厚估计。   相似文献
