The quantum electrodynamic (QED) corrections to the coupling energy of valence electrons in heavy and superheavy nuclei are calculated in the effective local-potential approximation, as well as by the Hartree-Fock-Dirac self-consistent method. It is clearly shown that the contribution from the QED corrections is within the accuracy of modern calculations, which do not take into account QED effects. It is shown that, in certain cases, to exactly calculate the coupling energy of electrons in heavy and superheavy atoms, it is necessary to take into account the self-consistency, which shows that the inaccuracy of the use of the method of the effective local potential in calculations of QED effects can exceed 10%, which is also within the limits of calculations of the coupling energy without taking into account QED effects.  相似文献

A new single-particle effective potential is proposed. This potential allows one to take into account quantum-electrodynamic (QED) corrections in relativistic calculations of many-electron ions and neutral atoms. In particular, it can be used in the Dirac-Fock (DF) method, the relativistic density functional, the multiconfiguration DF method, and the relativistic method of superposition of configurations. The potential is constructed without fitting parameters. Self-energy corrections have been calculated for a number of neutral alkali atoms and Li-like ions to check the quality of the nonlocal potential proposed. Comparison with the data in the literature on the QED corrections obtained in nonempirical calculations based on the use of QED perturbation theory is performed.  相似文献

Dielectronic recombination of Pb53+ has been studied and a resonance is detected only ∼0.1 meV above the ground state. The possibility to determine the 4p 1/2−4s 1/2 energy splitting with a similar accuracy from the determination of the resonance position is discussed. Such a precision can only be achieved by calculations which treat QED in a many-body environment at levels which can still not be reached. A fully relativistic many-body calculation of the splitting is described and the uncertainties are discussed. The electron structure function method is applied to calculate model-independent QED radiative corrections to the asymmetry of electron-proton scattering. Representations for both spin-independent and spin-dependent parts of the cross section are derived. Master formulas include the leading corrections in all orders and the main contribution of the second order and provide accuracy of the QED corrections at the level of one per mill. Numerical calculations illustrate our analytic results for both elastic and deep inelastic events.  相似文献

The first-order QED corrections for valence electron are investigated for the neutral Ag, Rg and their neighbours of the Mendeleev Periodic Table within the framework of the Dirac-Hartree-Fock method. The including of SE effects in such procedure was done first for superheavy atoms. The obtained results provide the limit of the accuracy for the modern relativistic theoretical calculations for the superheavy elements and open the discussion about the accuracy of the QED corrections in the superheavy elements themselves.  相似文献

The present status of calculations of the hyperfine splitting and the transition probability between the hyperfine splitting components in hydrogen and lithium like ions is discussed. The results of the calculations are compared with recent experimental data. A special attention is focused on the hyperfine splitting in hydrogen like lead and lithium like bismuth. It is shown that the theoretical prediction for the ground state hyperfine splitting in lead based on the single particle nuclear model for the Bohr-Weisskopf effect is in fair agreement with experiment. The theoretical prediction for the ground state hyperfine splitting in lithium like bismuth is improved due to more accurate calculations of the interelectronic interaction, QED, and nuclear corrections. Model-independent QED radiative corrections to polarization observables in the elastic scattering of unpolarized and longitudinally polarized electron beam by a deuteron target are calculated. Two experimental setups are considered: the deuteron target is arbitrarily polarized, or the vector and/or tensor polarization of the recoil deuteron is measured. The calculations are based on taking all essential Feynman diagrams into account and using the covariant parametrization of the deuteron polarization state. The radiative corrections are calculated for the hadronic variables using invariant integration of the leptonic tensor. Numerical estimates of the radiative corrections to the polarization observables are made for various values of the kinematical vari-ables.  相似文献

Theoretical g-factor calculations for the first excited 2P3/2 state of boronlike ions in the range Z=10–20 are presented and compared with the previously published values. The first-order interelectronic-interaction contribution is evaluated within the rigorous quantum electrodynamics (QED) approach in the effective screening potential. We present the full one-loop radiative corrections to pair production of neutralinos in e+e collisions within the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model. Particular attention is paid to the definition of weak and QED corrections. The non-universal QED corrections are extracted by subtracting the initial state radiation. We give numerical results for two different SUSY scenarios for and . Parity nonconserving (PNC) amplitudes with effective weak interactions between the electrons and nucleus are also considered. The nuclear recoil effect on the g-factor of H- and Li-like heavy ions is evaluated to all orders in αZ. The calculations include an approximate treatment of the nuclear size and the electron–electron interaction corrections to the recoil effect. As the result, the second largest contribution to the theoretical uncertainty of the g-factor values of 208Pb79+ and 238U89+ is strongly reduced. Special attention is paid to tests of the QED recoil effect on the g-factor in experiments with heavy ions. It is found that, while the QED recoil effect on the gfactor value is masked by the uncertainties of the nuclear size and nuclear polarization contributions, it can be probed on a few-percent level in the specific difference of the g-factors of H- and Li-like heavy ions. This provides a unique opportunity to test QED in a new region of the strong-coupling regime beyond the Furry picture.  相似文献

A new method based on the independent electron-pair approximation is developed to calculate the correlation energy and the basis size truncation error. The formalisms for the nondegenerate systems are described in this paper. Because all important terms are very efficiently selected and the calculations can be separated into several parts, this new method gives very accurate results and does not require expensive computing facilities. As a test, the ground state energies (GSE) of the nonrelativistic atoms for 3≤Ne≤10 are calculated using this new method. The calculated results are found to be in close agreement with the most recent available version of the exact GSE which is derived from the experimental data after subtracting the contributions from the relativistic effect, QED radiative corrections, finite nucleon mass corrections, and the finite radius of the nuclear size. Those accurate results have not been reproduced for Ne≥5 by any direct theoretical calculations in literatures. Since this method is not restrained to nonrelativistic or Coulomb systems, it should become powerful to study other quantum interacting systems.  相似文献

An analytical approach is developed to the calculation of the hard bremsstrahlung corrections for the process e+e?μ+μ? in the context of the standard SU(2) × U(1) model for unified weak and e.m. interactions. Numerical results are shown for different values of the c.m. energy and scattering angle. They are strongly dependent on the experimental setup and indicate that hard effects become extremely important in the region of the neutral vector boson peak. Total corrections to the process are also analyzed. Finally hard photon corrections are reexamined for pure QED giving agreement with previous numerical calculations.  相似文献
