In this paper, we develop two practical methods for the computation of the eigenvalues as well as the eigenfunctions of the finite Hankel transform operator. These different eigenfunctions are called circular prolate spheroidal wave functions (CPSWFs). This work is motivated by the potential applications of the CPSWFs as well as the development of practical methods for computing their values. Also, in this work, we should prove that the CPSWFs form an orthonormal basis of the space of Hankel band-limited functions, an orthogonal basis of L2([0,1]) and an orthonormal system of L2([0,+[). Our computation of the CPSWFs and their associated eigenvalues is done by the use of two different methods. The first method is based on a suitable matrix representation of the finite Hankel transform operator. The second method is based on the use of an efficient quadrature method based on a special family of orthogonal polynomials. Also, we give two Maple programs that implement the previous two methods. Finally, we present some numerical results that illustrate the results of this work.  相似文献

As a time‐shifted and frequency‐modulated version of the linear canonical transform (LCT), the offset linear canonical transform (OLCT) provides a more general framework of most existing linear integral transforms in signal processing and optics. To study simultaneous localization of a signal and its OLCT, the classical Heisenberg's uncertainty principle has been recently generalized for the OLCT. In this paper, we complement it by presenting another two uncertainty principles, ie, Donoho‐Stark's uncertainty principle and Amrein‐Berthier‐Benedicks's uncertainty principle, for the OLCT. Moreover, we generalize the short‐time LCT to the short‐time OLCT. We likewise present Lieb's uncertainty principle for the short‐time OLCT and give a lower bound for its essential support.  相似文献

Over the last years, considerable attention has been paid to the role of the prolate spheroidal wave functions (PSWFs) introduced in the early sixties by D. Slepian and H.O. Pollak to many practical signal and image processing problems. The PSWFs and their applications to wave phenomena modeling, fluid dynamics, and filter design played a key role in this development. In this paper, we introduce the prolate spheroidal quaternion wave functions (PSQWFs), which refine and extend the PSWFs. The PSQWFs are ideally suited to study certain questions regarding the relationship between quaternionic functions and their Fourier transforms. We show that the PSQWFs are orthogonal and complete over two different intervals: the space of square integrable functions over a finite interval and the three‐dimensional Paley–Wiener space of bandlimited functions. No other system of classical generalized orthogonal functions is known to possess this unique property. We illustrate how to apply the PSQWFs for the quaternionic Fourier transform to analyze Slepian's energy concentration problem. We address all of the aforementioned and explore some basic facts of the arising quaternionic function theory. We conclude the paper by computing the PSQWFs restricted in frequency to the unit sphere. The representation of these functions in terms of generalized spherical harmonics is explicitly given, from which several fundamental properties can be derived. As an application, we provide the reader with plot simulations that demonstrate the effectiveness of our approach. Copyright © 2016 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

In this paper we introduce a real integral transform which links trigonometric and Bessel functions. This allows us to construct a monogenic pseudo‐exponential in Clifford analysis. There is a deep difference between odd and even dimensions. Copyright © 2006 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

The Mehler Formula for the Generalized Clifford-Hermite Polynomials   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
The Mehler formula for the Hermite polynomials allows for an integral representation of the one-dimensional Fractional Fourier transform. In this paper, we introduce a multi-dimensional Fractional Fourier transform in the framework of Clifford analysis. By showing that it coincides with the classical tensorial approach we are able to prove Mehler's formula for the generalized Clifford-Hermite polynomials of Clifford analysis.  相似文献

Recently, there is a growing interest in the spectral approximation by the Prolate Spheroidal Wave Functions (PSWFs) ψn,c,c>0. This is due to the promising new contributions of these functions in various classical as well as emerging applications from Signal Processing, Geophysics, Numerical Analysis, etc. The PSWFs form a basis with remarkable properties not only for the space of band-limited functions with bandwidth c, but also for the Sobolev space Hs([?1,1]). The quality of the spectral approximation and the choice of the parameter c when approximating a function in Hs([?1,1]) by its truncated PSWFs series expansion, are the main issues. By considering a function fHs([?1,1]) as the restriction to [?1,1] of an almost time-limited and band-limited function, we try to give satisfactory answers to these two issues. Also, we illustrate the different results of this work by some numerical examples.  相似文献

The problem of reconstructing a monogenic Clifford algebra valued function on the boundary Γ of a general open set Ω in Rn+1 from a prescribed jump data u over the boundary is deeply connected with the study of the Clifford-Cauchy transform

Orthogonal Clifford analysis is a higher dimensional function theory offering both a generalization of complex analysis in the plane and a refinement of classical harmonic analysis. During the last years, Hermitean Clifford analysis has emerged as a new and successful branch of it, offering yet a refinement of the orthogonal case. Recently in [F. Brackx, B. De Knock, H. De Schepper, D. Peña Peña, F. Sommen, submitted for publication], a Hermitean Cauchy integral was constructed in the framework of circulant (2×2) matrix functions. In the present paper, a new Hermitean Hilbert transform is introduced, arising naturally as part of the non-tangential boundary limits of that Hermitean Cauchy integral. The resulting matrix operator is shown to satisfy properly adapted analogues of the characteristic properties of the Hilbert transform in classical analysis and orthogonal Clifford analysis.  相似文献

In the present paper, we generalize the linear canonical transform (LCT) to quaternion‐valued signals, known as the quaternionic LCT (QLCT). Using the properties of the LCT, we establish an uncertainty principle for the two‐sided QLCT. This uncertainty principle prescribes a lower bound on the product of the effective widths of quaternion‐valued signals in the spatial and frequency domains. It is shown that only a Gaussian quaternionic signal minimizes the uncertainty. Copyright © 2016 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

In this paper, we study some new special functions that arise naturally within the framework of Hermitian Clifford analysis, which concerns the study of Dirac‐like systems in several complex variables. In particular, we focus on Hermite polynomials, Bessel functions, and generalized powers. We also derive a Vekua system for solutions of Hermitian systems in axially symmetric domains. In this paper, we define the Hankel–Wigner transform in Clifford analysis and therefore define the corresponding Weyl transform. We present some properties of this kind of Hankel–Wigner transform, and then give the criteria of the boundedness of the Weyl transform and compactness on the Lp space. A boundary value problem for hypermonogenic functions in Clifford analysis   总被引:7,自引:0,他引:7
This paper deals with a boundary value problem for hypermonogenic functions in Clifford analysis. Firstly we discuss integrals of quasi-Cauchy's type and get the Plemelj formula for hypermonogenic functions in Clifford analysis, and then we address Riemman boundary value problem for hypermonogenic functions.  相似文献

In Brackx et al., 2004 (F. Brackx, R. Delanghe and F. Sommen (2004). Spherical means and distributions in Clifford analysis. In: Tao Qian, Thomas Hempfling, Alan McIntosch and Frank Sommen (Eds.), Advances in Analysis and Geometry: New Developments Using Clifford Algebra, Trends in Mathematics, pp. 65–96. Birkhäuser, Basel.), some fundamental higher dimensional distributions have been reconsidered within the framework of Clifford analysis. Here, the Fourier transforms of these distributions are calculated, revealing a.o. the Fourier symbols of some important translation invariant (convolution) operators, which can be interpreted as members of the considered families. Moreover, these results are the incentive for calculating the Fourier symbols of some differential operators which are at the heart of Clifford analysis, but do not show the property of translation invariance and hence, can no longer be interpreted as convolution operators.  相似文献

The simultaneous null solutions of the two complex Hermitian Dirac operators are focused on in Hermitian Clifford analysis, where the Hermitian Cauchy integral was constructed and will play an important role in the framework of circulant (2×2) matrix functions. Under this setting we will present the half Dirichlet problem for circulant (2×2) matrix functions on the unit ball of even dimensional Euclidean space. We will give the unique solution to it merely by using the Hermitian Cauchy transformation, get the solution to the Dirichlet problem on the unit ball for circulant (2×2) matrix functions and the solution to the classical Dirichlet problem as the special case, derive a decomposition of the Poisson kernel for matrix Laplace operator, and further obtain the decomposition theorems of solution space to the Dirichlet problem for circulant (2×2) matrix functions.  相似文献

In this paper, we investigate a Cauchy–Kowalevski (CK) extension problem that arises naturally within the framework of Hermitian Clifford analysis, which concerns the study of Dirac‐like operators in several complex variables. The work presented here includes CK extensions of higher codimension and in particular the CK extension of the Gauss distribution in several complex variables.
