In this paper, the irreducible p, q‐representations of the Lie algebras $\mathcal {G}(0,1)$ and $\mathcal {G}(0,0)$ are discussed. We prove two theorems that classify certain irreducible p, q‐representations of these Lie algebras and construct their one variable models in terms of p, q‐derivative and dilation operators. As an application, we derive a p, q‐special function identity based on one such model. 相似文献

In this paper we review Shelah's strong covering property and its applications. We also extend some of the results of Shelah and Woodin on the failure of $\mathsf {CH}$ by adding a real. 相似文献

We study combinatorial large cardinal properties on ${\mathcal {P}}_{\kappa } \lambda$, such as ineffability, almost ineffability, subtlety, and the Shelah property. We show that, even when λ > κ, the almost ineffability of ${\mathcal {P}}_{\kappa } \lambda$ does not yield the ineffability of κ. We also show that the Shelah property and the partition property of ${\mathcal {P}}_{\kappa } \lambda$ do not yield the subtlety of κ. 相似文献

Given a pair of dual generalized flag manifolds of a semisimple algebraic group, we show that the integral transform between them given by the open orbit in their product is an equivalence. We also describe the links of this problem with the structure of generalized Verma modules, and how the above construction can be applied to the representation theory of real forms of the group. 相似文献

Gromov constructed uncountably many pairwise nonisomorphic discrete groups with Kazhdan's property . We will show that no separable -factor can contain all these groups in its unitary group. In particular, no separable -factor can contain all separable -factors in it. We also show that the full group -algebras of some of these groups fail the lifting property.

Let be a formal power series ring over a field of characteristic zero and any ideal. The aim of this work is to introduce some numerical invariants of the local rings by using the theory of algebraic -modules. More precisely, we will prove that the multiplicities of the characteristic cycle of the local cohomology modules and , where is any prime ideal that contains , are invariants of .

An explicit formula for the toric -vector of an Eulerian poset in terms of the -index is developed using coalgebra techniques. The same techniques produce a formula in terms of the flag -vector. For this, another proof based on Fine's algorithm and lattice-path counts is given. As a consequence, it is shown that the Kalai relation on dual posets, , is the only equation relating the -vectors of posets and their duals. A result on the -vectors of oriented matroids is given. A simple formula for the -index in terms of the flag -vector is derived.

We give an example of a subgroup of which is a strictly ascending HNN extension of a non-abelian finitely generated free group . In particular, we exhibit a free group in of rank which is conjugate to a proper subgroup of itself. This answers positively a question of Drutu and Sapir (2005). The main ingredient in our construction is a specific finite volume (non-compact) hyperbolic 3-manifold which is a surface bundle over the circle. In particular, most of comes from the fundamental group of a surface fiber. A key feature of is that there is an element of in with an eigenvalue which is the square root of a rational integer. We also use the Bass-Serre tree of a field with a discrete valuation to show that the group we construct is actually free.

Although general order multivariate Padé approximants were introduced some decades ago, very few explicit formulas for special functions have been given. We explicitly construct some general order multivariate Padé approximants to the class of so-called pseudo-multivariate functions, using the Padé approximants to their univariate versions. We also prove that the constructed approximants inherit the normality and consistency properties of their univariate relatives, which do not hold in general for multivariate Padé approximants. Examples include the multivariate forms of the exponential and the -exponential functions and as well as the Appell function and the multivariate form of the partial theta function

The aim of this paper is to study the set of all -summand vectors of a real Banach space . We provide a characterization of -summand vectors in smooth real Banach spaces and a general decomposition theorem which shows that every real Banach space can be decomposed as an -sum of a Hilbert space and a Banach space without nontrivial -summand vectors. As a consequence, we generalize some results and we obtain intrinsic characterizations of real Hilbert spaces.

Let G be an abelian topological group. The symbol $\widehat{G}Let G be an abelian topological group. The symbol $\widehat{G}$ denotes the group of all continuous characters $\chi :G\rightarrow {\mathbb T}$ endowed with the compact open topology. A subset E of G is said to be qc‐dense in G provided that χ(E)?φ([? 1/4, 1/4]) holds only for the trivial character $\chi \in \widehat{G}$, where $\varphi : {\mathbb R}\rightarrow {\mathbb T}={\mathbb R}/{\mathbb Z}$ is the canonical homomorphism. A super‐sequence is a non‐empty compact Hausdorff space S with at most one non‐isolated point (to which S converges). We prove that an infinite compact abelian group G is connected if and only if its arc component Ga contains a super‐sequence converging to 0 that is qc‐dense in G. This gives as a corollary a recent theorem of Außenhofer: For a connected locally compact abelian group G, the restriction homomorphism $r:\widehat{G}\rightarrow \widehat{G}_a$ defined by $r(\chi )=\chi \upharpoonright _{G_a}$ for $\chi \in \widehat{G}$, is a topological isomorphism. We show that an infinite compact group G is connected if and only if its arc component Ga contains a super‐sequence converging to the identity that is qc‐dense in G and generates a dense subgroup of G. We also offer a short alternative proof of the result of Hofmann and Morris on the existence of suitable sets of minimal size in the arc component of a compact connected group. 相似文献
