A neutron activation analysis has been devised for the determination of traces of molybdenum and rhenium in an electrolytic zinc sulphate solution. The activities due to the daughter 99mTc and to 186Re were counted. The chemical separation was performed on an anion-exchange resin. The matrix activities were separated by elution with 0.5 N nitric acid. The separation of technetium and rhenium was performed by an elution with 0.2 N perchloric acid. To avoid errors in the molybdenum determination, the uranium present in the sample was separated before the irradiation.  相似文献

A simple, rapid and reproducible method for the extractive separation of molybdenum(VI) and rhenium(VII) is proposed using triphenylphosphine oxide (TPPO) dissolved in toluene as an extractant. The extractions are carried out from the hydrochloric and hydrobromic acid medium. The extraction of molybdenum is quantitative from 2.54-3.10 M hydrochloric acid and from 3.76-3.98 M hydrobromic acid, and that of rhenium is from 6.78-7.91 M hydrochloric acid. The probable nature of the extractable species is established using log distribution ratio-log concentration plots. The method permits mutual separation of molybdenum(VI) and rhenium(VII) and is applicable for the analysis of alloys and pharmaceutical sample. The detection limits for molybdenum(VI) and rhenium(VII) are 0.8 ppm and 4 ppm respectively.  相似文献

By the application of thin-layer chromatography on silica gel H and the solvent system consisting of 6 M HCl:acetylacetone: 9 M H2SO4 (60:2:1, v/v/v), zirconium and titanium have been quantitatively separated from each other, as well as from numerous other interfering ions. The efficiency of the chromatographic separation was evaluated by semiquantitative determination of zirconium and titanium by visual colorimetry of spots in situ, as well as by spectrophotometric determination of zirconium with rutin after its elution from silica gel H thin-layer.  相似文献

A method is described for the cation-exchange separation of large amounts of iron(III) from cobalt, nickel, and aluminium. On the strongly acidic Dowex 50-X8, iron(III) is not adsorbed from an 80% tetrahydrofuran-20% 3 M hydrochloric acid mixture, while cobalt, nickel, and aluminium are retained; a quantitative separation is thus possible. Cobalt and nickel or aluminium are then separated by elution with 90% tetrahydrofuran-10% 6 M hydrochloric acid. In these mixtures combined ion exchange-solvent extraction appears to occur; both ion exchange and liquid-liquid extraction are. effective simultaneously.  相似文献

A spectrophotometric method to determine rhenium(IV) at trace level is based on the extraction of Re(IV)-SCN? complex in sulphuric acid media with N,N′-diphenylbenzamidine(DPBA) in presence of a non-ionic surfactant triton X-100 (TX-100) in chloroform. The complex shows maximum absorbance at 435 nm with amolar absorptivity value of 4.24 × 104 L mol?1 cm?1 at an acidity range 3.5-6.5 M H2SO4. The method followed Beer's Law for the system Re(IV)-SCN?(TX-100)-DPBA upto 4.0 μg Re(IV) mL?1. The detection limit of the method is 5 ppb. None of the tested foreign ions, except molybdenum(VI), interfere with the determination of rhenium. The interference due to molybdenum could effectively be removed by prior precipitation with oxine. The effect of various analytical parameters on the extraction of the metal are discussed.  相似文献

Molybdenum (V) was generated at a platinum cathode from 0.7 M molybdenum(VI) in 4 M sulfuric acid. A current efficiency of 99.9% was attained. A limiting current density of 0.05 mA/cm2/mM was found. The formal potential of the Mo(VI)–Mo(V) couple in 4 M sulfuric acid was determined to be ca. 0.55 V vs. N.H.E. Chromium(VI) solutions were titrated over a wide range of sample size and generating current. Amperometric titration curves were interpreted from current-voltage curves. Titrations could be performed in the presence of oxygen at the 1μeq. level. The effect of nitrate, perchlorate, orthophosphate, and chloride ions on the titration was determined.  相似文献

Lithium can be separated from sodium, beryllium and many other elements by eluting lithium with 1 M nitric acid in 80% methanol from a column of AG50W-X8 sulphonated polystyrene cation-exchange resin. The separation factor is not quite as large as that in 1 M hydrochloric acid in 80% methanol, but many elements, such as Zn, Cd, In, Pb(II), Bi(III) and Fe(III), which form chloride complexes in 1 M HCl-80% methanol are retained quantitatively together with Na, Be, Mg, Ca, Mn(II), Al, Ti(IV), U(VI), and many other elements, when 1 M HNO3-80% methanol is used for elution of lithium. A method for the accurate determination of traces of lithium in rock samples is described, and some results obtained are presented together with relevant distribution coefficients, elution curves and results for the analysis of synthetic mixtures.  相似文献

A method is described for the determination of cadmium, cobalt, copper, manganese, lead, uranium, and zinc in samples of natural waters. After acidification with hydrochloric acid the water sample is filtered and the diethyldithiocarbamates of the trace elements are isolated by extraction with acetone—chloroform (2:5) at pH 5. Following this preconcentration step the metal ions are adsorbed on a column of the strongly basic anion-exchange resin Dowex 1-X8 (chloride form) using as sorption solution a mixture (5:4:1, vv) of tetrahydrofuran, methyl glycol and 6 M hydrochloric acid. Successive elution is effected with 6 M hydrochloric acid (Co, Cu, Mn and Pb), 1 M hydrochloric acid (U) and 2 M nitric acid (Cd and Zn); the metal ions in the eluates are determined by atomic absorption spectrophotometry (except uranium, which is determined fluorimetrically). The procedure was used to determine the trace-metals in water and snow samples collected in Austria and to analyse a sample of sea water from the Adriatic Sea.  相似文献

Cation-exchange chromatography in a dimethylsulphoxide (DMSO) medium is a suitable means for separating uranium from metal ions, including copper, iron, nickel and molybdenum. Quantitative separations of uranium from 26 elements can best be effected on a column of Dowex 50W-X8 (200-400 mesh), using as the eluent a 20% v/v DMSO solution which is 0.6Min hydrochloric acid and 0.25M in sodium acetate. Only calcium is eluted with the uranium and all other elements studied are eluted either before or after uranium. The elution characteristics of uranium and of other metal ions were investigated with respect to changes in eluent and resin compositions. Separations were much less effective at higher concentrations of sodium ion or DMSO. None of the organic solvents methanol, ethanol, methyl glycol, acetone, dioxan or acetic acid was found to produce favourable separation conditions. Results with Dowex 50 resins of lower or higher cross-linkage were inferior to those obtained with the X8 resin.  相似文献

A simple quantum mechanical method, based on the Wolfsberg-Helmholtz approximation, has been applied to some nonmetallic4d and5d transition metal cluster compounds containing M6X8 units. Our aim was to calculate bonding energies ofM6 clusters as a function of electronic configuration and symmetry. Energy sequences of clusters containing elements adjacent to each other in the periodic table are discussed, in particular, niobium and molybdenum as well as tungsten and rhenium. Compared with experimentally well-characterized compounds, the computional results show good qualitative agreement. So the occurrence ofM6 clusters withOh or lower symmetry can be explained by electronic effects.  相似文献

A simple solution to the difficult problem of the separation and determination of traces of rhenium contained in molybdenites is suggested. After the preliminary attack of the cres, rhenium is extracted quantitatively between, pH 8 and pH 9 by chloroform in the form of tetraphenylarsonium perrhenate. In this pH region the molybdenum remains in the aqueous phase.Calculation has allowed the determination of favourable conditions for the extraction of perrhenates by tetraphenylarsonium chloride and chloroform. Practical results are in satisfactory agreement with theory.The extracted rhenium, after conversion to the ions ReO4- in acid solution, is determined colorimetrically by reaction with thiocyanate and stannous chloride.By applying the method described it is possible to isolate and determine rhenium in molybdenites when the weight ratio rhenium/ore ecxeeds 10-7.  相似文献

The desorption chemical ionization (DCI) mass spectrometry of ten rhenium compounds is compared to the desorption electron impact (DEI) mass spectrometry of the same compounds. Using 10% ammonia in nitrogen as the reagent gas, the DCI mass spectrometric (MS) technique provided [M + H]+ ions for each rhenium compound. Effective methods are described for the chemical separation of rhenium, osmium and molybdenum. The methods are based on distillation and anion-exchange chromatography, and have been the basis for rhenium-osmium isotope studies of ore deposits and meteorites. Successful anion-exchange separation of osmium requires both recognition and careful control of the osmium species in solution; thus, distillation of osmium tetroxide from a mixture of sulfuric acid and hydrogen peroxide is preferred to anion-exchange. Distribution coefficients measured for perrhenate in sulfuric acid media are sufficiently high (K(d) > 500) for rhenium to be directly loaded onto an ion-exchange column from a distillation residue and subsequently eluted with nitric acid. Polymerization of molybdenum species during elution is prevented by use of a solution that is 1M in hydrochloric acid and 1M in sodium chloride.  相似文献

本文研究了纳米TiO2吸附剂对Mo(VI)、Re(VII)的吸附行为,考察了溶液的pH值、吸附时间、温度等因素对吸附的影响。结果表明:纳米TiO2对Mo(VI)的吸附在pH 1~8条件下,吸附率超过99%,2 mL 0.05mol/L NaOH溶液可将吸附的Mo(VI)离子完全洗脱,解吸率能达到97%。在pH 1~10范围内,纳米TiO2不吸附Re(VII), 从而达到Mo(VI)、Re(VII)分离。在2℃~50℃温度范围内,Mo(VI)的吸附过程符合Langmiur等温式,纳米TiO2对Mo(VI)的最大吸附容量从11.51mg g-1增加到14.19 mg g-1;纳米TiO2分离钼后,溶液剩余的铼,用活性炭吸附,在pH1~10范围内, Re(VII)的吸附率可达99%,用浓氨水进行洗脱,洗脱率可达96%;吸附过程可用准二级反应动力学模型描述,是以化学吸附为控制步骤的吸附过程;吸附等温线与Freundlich模型有较好的拟合。  相似文献

A method is described for separating .and determining niobium and tantalum in mixtures of the two. A solution of the two elements in 3M hydrochloric.0.1M hydrofluoric acid is put on a column of Deacidite FF, the niobium is rapidly eluted with 3M hydrochloric.0.1M hydrofluoric acid and the tantalum is recovered by elution with 4M ammonium chloride-M ammonium fluoride. A complete separation is obtained and the two elements are recovered as their oxides after precipitation. The effecth of some other elements have been examined.  相似文献

The utility of hydrous zirconium oxide for the separation of metal ions has been explored. The Kd-values from different concentrations of chloride ions(pH-2) have been determined. On the basis of the sorption data Pd (II) and Tl (III) have been quantitatively separated from a number of metal ions. A novel flow-injection spectrophotometry has been developed for the determination of molybdenum(VI) at nanograms per milliliter levels. The method is based on the catalytic effect of molybdenum(VI) on the bromate oxidative coupling of p-hydrazinobenzenesulfonic acid with N-(1-naphthyl)ethylenediamine to form an azo dye (λmax = 530 nm). Chromotropic acid (4,5-dihydroxy-2,7-naphthalenedisulfonic acid) acted as an effective activator for the molybdenum(VI)-catalyzed reaction and increased the sensitivity of the method. The reaction was monitored by measuring the change in absorbance of the dye produced. The proposed method allowed the determination of molybdenum(VI) in the range 1.0-20 ng mL−1 with sample throughput of 15 h−1. The limit of detection was 0.5 ng mL−1 and a relative standard deviation for 10 ng mL−1 molybdenum(VI) (n = 10) was 2.5%. The interfering ions were eliminated by using the combination of a masking agent and on-line minicolumn packed with cation exchanger. The present method was successfully applied to the determination of molybdenum(VI) in plant foodstuffs.  相似文献

A new chelating polymeric sorbent is developed using Merrifield chloromethylated resin anchored with calix[4]arene-o-vanillinsemicarbazone for simultaneous separation and solid phase extractive preconcentration of U(VI) and Th(IV). The “upper-rim” functionalized calix[4]arene-o-vanillinsemicarbazone was covalently linked to Merrifield resin and characterized by FT-IR and elemental analysis. The synthesized chelating polymeric sorbent shows superior binding affinity towards U(VI) and Th(IV) under selective pH conditions. Various physico-chemical parameters that influence the quantitative extraction of metal ions were optimized. The optimum pH range and flow rates for U(VI) and Th(IV) were 6.0-7.0 and 1.0-4.0 ml min−1 and 3.5-4.5 and 1.5-4.0 ml min−1, respectively. The total sorption capacity found for U(VI) and Th(IV) was 48734 and 41175 μg g−1, respectively. Interference studies carried out in the presence of diverse ions and electrolyte species showed quantitative analyte recovery (98-98.5%) with lower limits of detection, 6.14 and 4.29 μg l−1 and high preconcentration factors, 143 and 153 for U(VI) and Th(IV), respectively. The uptake and stripping of these metal ions on the resin were fast, indicating a better accessibility of the metal ions towards the chelating sites. The analytical applicability of the synthesized polymeric sorbent was tested with some synthetic mixtures for the separation of U(VI) and Th(IV) from each other and also from La(III), Cu(II) and Pb(II) by varying the pH and sequential acidic elution. The validity of the proposed method was checked by analyzing these metal ions in natural water samples, monazite sand and standard geological materials.  相似文献
