Reductions of vanadium(IV), benzoquinone, and tri-iodide, both by titanium(III) and by titanium(II), are catalyzed by molybdenum(VI). The VO(2+)-Ti(II) reaction is catalyzed by copper(II) as well. Reactions of Ti(II) with the oxidant in excess yield Ti(IV), as do reductions by Ti(III). Reactions proceed via competing uncatalyzed and catalyzed paths, with the latter components first order in catalyst. Kinetic patterns indicate that monomeric Mo(v) is the active species, but the dimeric Mo(v) species, [Mo(2)O(4)](2+), is without catalytic action. Catalytic constants pertaining to Ti(III) are remarkably similar to those for Ti(II), despite the 0.47 V difference in the standard potentials of the two reductants.  相似文献

The extraction behaviour of iron(III) and titanium(IV) from acidic chloride solutions has been investigated using 3-phenyl-4-benzoyl-5-isoxazolone (HPBI) in xylene as an extractant. The results demonstrate that these metal ions are extracted into xylene as Fe(PBI)(3) and TiO(PBI)(2). The equilibrium constants of the extracted complexes have been deduced by non-linear regression analysis by taking into account complexation of metal ion with inorganic ligands in the aqueous phase and all plausible complexes extracted into the organic phase. IR and proton NMR ((1)H NMR) spectra were used to further clarify the nature of complexes extracted into organic phase. The effect of the nature of the diluent on the extraction of iron(III) and titanium(IV) has been studied and correlated with dielectric constants. The extraction behaviour of titanium(IV) has also been compared with that of other metal ions, viz. magnesium(II), vanadium(V), chromium(VI), iron(III), manganese(II), zinc(II) and zirconium(IV), which are associated with the titanium in waste chloride liquors of the titanium-mineral-processing industry.  相似文献

A catalytic method for the determination of copper, based on the catalysis of the hexacyano-ferrate(III)-cyanide redox reaction, is proposed. Experimental conditions to achieve the lowest detection limit are selected from the kinetics of both the catalysed and the uncatalysed reactions. The experimental measurements can be made at room temperature without close control. The rate-constant method is the most sensitive and precise, whereas the fixed-concentration and fixed-time methods appear to be the most rapid for routine analysis. A detection limit of 1.3 ng/ml and a coefficient of variation of about 3% for the determination of 63 ng/ml can be achieved. The catalytic effect of copper seems to be highly specific. Lead(II), bismuth (III), antimony (III), iron (II), iron(III), chromium(III), lanthanum(III), cerium(III), titanium(IV), zirconium(IV) and uranium(VI) interfere by precipitation. Species such as tin(II), cobalt(II), manganese(II), sulphite and thiosulphite cause serious interference because they react with hexacyanoferrate(III). Chromate interferes by its colour. Suitable methods to avoid the interferences from antimony(III), iron(III), chromium(III), titanium(IV), zirconium(IV), uranium(VI) and chromate are proposed.  相似文献

The extraction of Sm(III), Dy(III) and Tm(III) with N-benzoyl-N-phenylhydroxalamine (BPHA) in benzene at pH range (1–10) has been studied. Quantitative separation was found in borate media at pH 8. The slope analysis showed that the extracted complex was M(BPHA)3, where M=Sm(III), Dy(III) and Tm(III). The effect of various masking agents indicated that EDTA, oxalate, fluoride, phosphate and citrate, interfered in this study. Decontamination study showed that Cu(II), Zn(II), Ni(II), Co(II), Cr(III), Sc(III) and Fe(III) had very poor separation factors, whereas Sn(II), Cd(II), In(III), Ru(II), Hg(II), Ag(I), Ta(V) and Hf(IV) had very large separation factor. The effect of different diluents showed that carbontetrachloride, chloroform, benzene, toluene, nitrobenzene dichloromethane, MIBK and cyclohexanone were equally good for extraction except TBP due to ion association.  相似文献

The stability constants of the iron(II) complexes of TTHA (triethylenetetraminehexaacetic acid) were calculated from measured pH and redox potentials. The values of the cumulative constants obtained were: log βFeL= 15.37, log βFeHL = 23.83, log βFeH2L = 28.0, log βFe2L = 24.73. On the basis of these values and the previously determined constants ofiron(III) complexes, the possibilities of titrating iron(III) and iron(II) with TTHA were investigated. Depending on the experimental conditions, either FeL or Fe2L formed. Actual titrations were in agreement with the developed theory. The influence of aluminium and titanium on titrations of iron(III) solutions was elucidated.  相似文献

Two rhodamine-based chemosensors (1 and 2) were designed, and their sensing behavior toward metal ions was investigated by fluorescence spectroscopies. 1 and 2 achieved tuning the selectivity to Fe(III) and Cr(III) in 100% aqueous solution, whereas other ions including Cd(II), Co(II), Cu(II), Ni(II), Zn(II), Mg(II), Ba(II), Pb(II), Na(I), and K(I) induced basically no spectral change, which constituted a Fe(III)-selective and a Cr(III)-selective fluorescent chemosensor, respectively.  相似文献

The heterotrinuclear complexes trans- and cis-[{cis-VI-L(15)Rh(III)(μ-NC)}{trans-III-L(14S)Co(III)(μ-NC)}Fe(II)(CN)(4)](2+) are unprecedented examples of mixed valence complexes based on ferrocyanide bearing three different metal centers. These complexes have been assembled in a stepwise manner from their {trans-III-L(14S)Co(III)}, {cis-VI-L(15)Rh(III)}, and {Fe(II)(CN)(6)} building blocks. The preparative procedure follows that found for other known discrete assemblies of mixed valence dinuclear Cr(III)/Fe(II) and polynuclear Co(III)/Fe(II) complexes of the same family. A simple slow substitution process of [Fe(II)(CN)(6)](4-) on inert cis-VI-[Rh(III)L(15)(OH)](2+) leads to the preparation of the new dinuclear mixed valence complex [{cis-VI-L(15)Rh(III)(μ-NC)}Fe(II)(CN)(5)](-) with a redox reactivity that parallels that found for dinuclear complexes from the same family. The combination of this dinuclear precursor with mononuclear trans-III-[Co(III)L(14S)Cl](2+) enables a redox-assisted substitution on the transient {L(14S)Co(II)} unit to form [{cis-VI-L(15)Rh(III)(μ-NC)}{trans-III-L(14S)Co(III)(μ-NC)}Fe(II)(CN)(4)](2+). The structure of the final cis-[{cis-VI-L(15)Rh(III)(μ-NC)}{trans-III-L(14S)Co(III)(μ-NC)}Fe(II)(CN)(4)](2+) complex has been established via X-ray diffraction and fully agrees with its solution spectroscopy and electrochemistry data. The new species [{cis-VI-L(15)Rh(III)(μ-NC)}{trans-III-L(14S)Co(III)(μ-NC)}Fe(II)(CN)(4)](2+) and [{cis-VI-L(15)Rh(III)(μ-NC)}Fe(II)(CN)(5)](-) show the expected electronic spectra and electrochemical features typical of Class II mixed valence complexes. Interestingly, in the trinuclear complex, these features appear to be a simple addition of those for the Rh(III)/Fe(II) and Co(III)/Fe(II) moieties, despite the vast differences existent in the electronic spectra and electrochemical properties of the two isolated units.  相似文献

The analytical determination of Hg(II), Cu(II), Cd(II), As(III), Sb(III), Ti(IV) and U(VI) in the presence of Fe(III) and 1 M H2SO4 are investigated using the polarographic technique. The wave corresponding to the reduction of Fe(III) to Fe(II) was found to be completely suppressed by the addition of 1% pyrogallol. Thus, different mixtures of these elements, viz. Hg(II), Cu(II), Cd(II), As(III) and Fe(III)-mixture (A), Cu(II), Cd(II), Sb(III), As(III) and Fe(III)-mixture (B), and Cu(II), Cd(II), Ti(IV), U(VI) and Fe(III)-mixture (C), were quantitatively determined using 1% pyrogallol and 1 M H2SO4 as supporting electrolyte. The i1/c results give excellent correlations in each case, as indicated from the results of leastsquares regression analysis.  相似文献

The tridentate ligand N-methyl-N,N-bis(2-pyridylmethyl)amine (L) has been employed to synthesize a dinuclear Co(II)Co(III) mixed-valence complex containing μ-methoxo and μ-carboxylato bridging ligands, [LCo(II)(μ-carboxylato)bis(μ-methoxo)Co(III)L](ClO(4))(2). In this complex, the two pseudo-octahedral Co centers have an identical ligand environment, yet the average Co-N and Co-O bond distances at the two Co ions differ significantly. Electrochemical, spectroscopic, and magnetic susceptibility measurements confirm that it belongs to a localized Class II mixed-valence system, despite the presence of a short Co···Co distance of 3.021 ?. Oxidation of this Co(II)Co(III) complex leads to formation of the corresponding Co(III)Co(III) complex that was characterized structurally and spectroscopically. In addition, dinuclear and trinuclear μ-hydroxo Co(III) complexes have been obtained in the presence of phosphate anions and absence of methanol, respectively, suggesting that an additional bridging ligand is needed to stabilize the Co(III)bis(μ-hydroxo)Co(III) fragment. Moreover, the ability of the mixed-valence Co(II)Co(III) complex and the three related Co(III) complexes to electrocatalytically oxidize water was also investigated. The observed limited water oxidation catalytic ability for these systems suggests that a multinuclear Co cluster and/or presence of O-rich ligands may be needed for the generation of efficient molecular Co-based water oxidation catalysts.  相似文献

The complexing properties (capacity, pH effect, breakthrough curve) of a chelating resin, containing bicine ligands, were investigated for La(III), Nd(III), Tb(III), Th(IV) and U(VI). Trace amounts of these metal ions were quantitatively retained on the resin and recovered by eluting with 1 M hydrochloric acid. The capacity of the resin for La(III), Nd(III), Tb(III), Th(IV) and U(VI) was found to be 0.35, 0.40, 0.42, 0.25 and 0.38 mmol g(-1), respectively. Separation of U(VI) and Th(IV) from Ni(II), Zn(II), Co(II) and Cu(II) in a synthetic solution was carried out.  相似文献

The possibility of application was examined of a reaction between 2,2′-diquinoxalyl and tin(II) or titanium(III) to catalytic determination of copper and iron. The reaction parameters, the influence of the hydrogen peroxide concentration, the hydrochloric acid concentration, and the presence of strange ions on oxidation of the reduced form of 2,2′-diquinoxalyl were tested. The usefulness of the established method was proven for the determination of copper(II) and iron(III) ions in the spectrally pure salts, having the concentration range of those ions 10?4-10?5%. The sensitivity of the discussed method is of 0.04 μg/ml.  相似文献

Fluorescence, absorption and circular dichroism spectra have been used in the interactions of ruthenium(III), rhodium(III) and palladium(II) ions with DNA with berberine as a probe (berberine, Scheme 1). The results are as follows: ruthenium(III) and rhodium(III) ions show different effects from that of the palladium(II) ion on the fluorescence spectra characteristics of berberine-DNA system. Quenching fluorescence is seen with palladium(II) ion addition, whereas increasing fluorescence is observed for ruthenium(III) and rhodium(III) ions. The addition of ruthenium(III), rhodium(III) and palladium(II) ions causes the increasing absorption of the DNA solution. The addition of ruthenium(III), rhodium(III) and palladium(II) ions to the DNA solution also causes the circular dichroism spectra to change. The above results suggest that different metal ions exhibit different affinity when binding to DNA, which could correlate well with the ions’ charge, structure and the ability to coordinate. There is a comparison between Pt(IV) and Pd(II) ions on the fluorescence of the berberine-DNA system.  相似文献

The molecular structures of the titanium(III) borohydride complexes Ti(BH4)3(PEt3)2 and Ti(BH4)3(PMe2Ph)2 have been determined. If the BH4 groups are considered to occupy one coordination site, both complexes adopt distorted trigonal bipyramidal structures with the phosphines in the axial sites; the P-Ti-P angles deviate significantly from linearity and are near 156 degrees. In both compounds, two of the three BH4 groups are bidentate and one is tridentate. The deduced structures differ from the one previously described for the PMe3 analogue Ti(BH4)3(PMe3)2, in which two of the tetrahydroborate groups were thought to be bound to the metal in an unusual "side-on" (eta(2)-B,H) fashion. Because the PMe3, PEt3, and PMe2Ph complexes have nearly identical IR spectra, they most likely have similar structures. The current evidence strongly suggests that the earlier crystal structure of Ti(BH4)3(PMe3)2 was incorrectly interpreted and that these complexes all adopt structures in which two of the BH4 groups are bidentate and one is tridentate. The synthesis of the titanium(III) complex Ti(BH4)3(PMe2Ph)2 affords small amounts of a second product: the titanium(II) complex [Li(Et2O)2][Ti2(BH4)5(PMe2Ph)4]. The [Ti2(BH4)5(PMe2Ph)4]- anion consists of two Ti(eta(2)-BH4)2(PMe2Ph)2 centers linked by a bridging eta(2),eta(2)-BH4 group that forms a Ti...(mu-B)...Ti angle of 169.9(3) degrees. Unlike the distorted trigonal bipyramidal geometries seen for the titanium(III) complexes, the metal centers in this titanium(II) species each adopt nearly ideal tbp geometries with P-Ti-P angles of 172-176 degrees. All three BH4 groups around each Ti atom are bidentate. One of the BH4 groups on each Ti center bridges between Ti and an ether-coordinated Li cation, again in an eta(2),eta(2) fashion. The relationships between the electronic structures and the molecular structures of all these titanium complexes are briefly discussed.  相似文献
