The CASPT2 potential energy curves (PECs) for O‐loss dissociation from the X2Π, A2Π, B2Σ+, C2Σ+, 14Σ?, 12Σ?, and 14Π states of the OCS+ ion were calculated. The PEC calculations indicate that X2Π, 14Σ?, 12Σ?, and 14Π correlate with CS+(X2Σ+) + O(3Pg); A2Π and B2Σ+ correlate with CS+(A2Π) + O(3Pg); and C2Σ+ probably correlates with CS+(X2Σ+) + O(1Dg). The CASSCF minimum energy crossing point (MECP) calculations were performed for the C2Σ+/14Σ?, C2Σ+/14Π, A2Π/14Σ?, A2Π/12Σ?, A2Π/14Π, and B2Σ+/12Σ? state pairs and the spin‐obit couplings were calculated at the located MECPs. A conical intersection point between the B2Σ+ and C2Σ+ potential energy surfaces was found at the CASSCF level. Based on our calculations, seven O‐loss predissociation processes of the C2Σ+ state are suggested and an appearance potential value of 7.13 eV for the CS+ + O product group is predicted. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Geometries, frequencies, and energies of the 12B1, 12A2, 12B2, 22B1, 22B2, and 12A1, of the C6H5Br+ ion were calculated by using CASSCF and CASPT2 methods in conjunction with an ANO‐RCC basis. The CASPT2//CASSCF adiabatic excitation energies and CASPT2 relative energies for the six states are in good agreement with experiment. The X, A, B, C, and D electronic states of the C6H5Br+ ion were assigned to be X2B1, A2A2, B2B2, C2B1, and D2B2 based on the CASSCF and CASPT2 calculations. The assignment on the D state of the C6H5Br+ ion is different from the previously published works. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Int J Quantum Chem, 2010  相似文献

Complete active space self‐consistent field (CASSCF) and multiconfiguration second‐order perturbation theory (CASPT2) calculations with contracted ANO‐RCC basis set were performed for low‐lying electronic states of CH3SS and its cation in Cs symmetry. For the ground state X2A″ of CH3SS, the calculated S‐S stretching mode is in good agreement with experimental reports. The electron transitions of CH3SS+, X1A′ → 11A″, X1A′ → 21A′, and X1A′ → 21A″, are predicted at 1.055, 3.247, and 3.841 eV. Moreover, the calculated adiabatic and vertical ionization potential and adiabatic affinity are in reasonable agreement with the experimental data. The CASSCF/CASPT2 potential energy curves (PECs) were calculated for S2‐loss dissociation from the X2A″, 12A′, and 22A″ states. The electronic states of the CH3 radical and S2 molecule as the dissociation products were carefully determined by checking energies and geometries of the asymptote products. The S2‐loss PEC for CH3SS indicate that S2‐loss dissociation occurs from the X2A″ state leading to CH3 (12A″) + S2 (X3Σ), the 12A′ and 22A″ leading to CH3 (12A″) + S2 (1Δg). © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Summary The dipole moments and dipole polarizabilities of the 1A1, 1B1, and 3B1 electronic states of the water molecule have been calculated by using the CASSCF approach followed by the evaluation of the dynamic electron correlation contribution by the second-order perturbation scheme CASPT2. All calculations have been carried out in a specifically extended ANO basis set which accounts for the Rydberg character of the two excited states. In order to estimate the correctness and accuracy of the present data a scan over a variety of different active spaces for the CASSCF wave function has been made. The present results are superior to earlier CASSCF calculations, although their qualitative features remain essentially the same. The dipole moments in 1B1 and 3B1 states are predicted to be about 0.49 a.u. and 0.33 a.u., respectively, and have the opposite orientation with respect to the ground state dipole moment. The dipole polarizability tensors of the excited states are characterized by high anisotropy and are dominated by the in-plane component perpendicular to the symmetry axis. All their components are found to be about an order of magnitude larger than those of the ground state polarizability tensor. The excitation energy dependence on the choice of the active orbital space in the CASSCF reference function is also considered and the analysis of the present data concludes in the concept of what is called the mutually compatible active spaces for the two states involved in excitation. All CASPT2 results are in good agreement with the results of recent calculations carried out in the framework of the open-shell coupled cluster formalism. This agreement confirms the high efficiency of the CASSCF/CASPT2 approach to the treatment of the electron correlation effects.  相似文献

The density functional theory (DFT) and the complete active space self‐consistent‐field (CASSCF) method have been used for full geometry optimization of carbon chains C2nH+ (n = 1–5) in their ground states and selected excited states, respectively. Calculations show that C2nH+ (n = 1–5) have stable linear structures with the ground state of X3Π for C2H+ or X3Σ? for other species. The excited‐state properties of C2nH+ have been investigated by the multiconfigurational second‐order perturbation theory (CASPT2), and predicted vertical excitation energies show good agreement with the available experimental values. On the basis of our calculations, the unsolved observed bands in previous experiments have been interpreted. CASSCF/CASPT2 calculations also have been used to explore the vertical emission energy of selected low‐lying states in C2nH+ (n = 1–5). Present results indicate that the predicted vertical excitation and emission energies of C2nH+ have similar size dependences, and they gradually decrease as the chain size increases. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. We explore the workability of a parallelized algorithm of time‐dependent discrete variable representation (TDDVR) methodology formulated by involving “classical” trajectories on each DOF of a multi‐mode multi‐state Hamiltonian to reproduce the population dynamics, photoabsorption spectra and nuclear dynamics of the benzene radical cation. To perform such dynamics, we have used a realistic model Hamiltonian consists of five lowest electronic states (X2E1g, B2E2g, C2A2u, D2E1u, and E2B2u) which are interconnected through several conical intersections with nine vibrational modes. The calculated nuclear dynamics and photoabsorption spectra with the advent of our parallelized TDDVR approach show excellent agreement with the results obtained by multiconfiguration time‐dependent Hartree method and experimental findings, respectively. The major focus of this article is to demonstrate how the “classical” trajectories for the different modes and the “classical” energy functional for those modes on each surface can enlight the time‐dependent feature of nuclear density and its' nodal structure. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The initial S1 excited‐state relaxation of retinal protonated Schiff base (RPSB) analog with central C11C12 double bond locked by eight‐membered ring (locked‐11.8) was investigated by means of multireference perturbation theory methods (XMCQDPT2, XMS‐CASPT2, MS‐CASPT2) as well as single‐reference coupled‐cluster CC2 method. The analysis of XMCQDPT2‐based geometries reveals rather weak coupling between in‐plane and out‐of‐plane structural evolution and minor energetical relaxation of three locked‐11.8 conformers. Therefore, a strong coupling between bonds length inversion and backbone out‐of‐plane deformation resulting in a very steep S1 energy profile predicted by CASSCF/CASPT2 calculations is in clear contradiction with the reference XMCQDPT2 results. Even though CC2 method predicts good quality ground‐state structures, the excited‐state structures display more advanced torsional deformation leading to ca. 0.2 eV exaggerated energy relaxation and significantly red shifted (0.4–0.7 eV) emission maxima. According to our findings, the initial photoisomerization process in locked‐11.8, and possibly in other RPSB analogs, studied fully (both geometries and energies) by multireference perturbation theory may be somewhat slower than predicted by CASSCF/CASPT2 or CC2 methods. © 2018 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.  相似文献

In the title compound, C24H36O6, the ester linkage in ring A is equatorial. The six‐membered rings A, B and C have chair conformations. The five‐membered ring D adopts a 13β,14α‐half‐chair conformation and the E ring adopts an envelope conformation. The A/B, B/C and C/D ring junctions are trans, whereas the D/E junction is cis.  相似文献

DFT (B3LYP) calculations have been performed to study the CoC2 molecule in its different geometric conformations and electronic states. The energies have been refined using ab initio multiconfigurational CASSCF/CASPT2 calculations. Both approaches are in a good semi-quantitative agreement between themselves and predict the symmetric triangular (C2v) structure to be more stable than the linear (Cv) conformation. The ground state has been found to be a quartet, which can formally be regarded as an ionic Co2+–C22− complex, resulting from a transfer of the two 4s electrons of the cobalt atom to the 3σg orbital of the C2 ligand and distributing the remaining seven valence electrons over the split 3d orbitals.  相似文献

The potential energy surfaces and non-adiabatic dynamics of the C5H6NH 2 + protonated Schiff base (PSB3) have been investigated using the OM2 semiempirical Hamiltonian with GUGA configuration interaction. Three approaches to selecting the GUGA-CI active space are evaluated using closed-shell and open-shell molecular orbitals. Energy minima and minimum energy crossing points (MECPs) have been compared with ab initio CASSCF and CASPT2 results. Only the open-shell calculations give a qualitatively correct MECP. Minimum energy path (MEP) calculations demonstrate that a minimal active space gives a barrierless path from the planar S1 minimum to the ground state, whereas larger active spaces result in a small barrier to torsional motion. Surface hopping dynamics calculations indicate that this barrier induces bi-exponential dynamics. The comparable CASSCF S1 energy surface is barrierless, but the CASPT2 surface features an energy plateau, which may also lead to more complex dynamics.  相似文献

The conformations of (Z)‐ and (E)‐5‐oxo‐B‐nor‐5,10‐secocholest‐1(10)‐en‐3β‐yl acetates ( 2 and 3 , resp.) were examined by a combination of X‐ray crystallographic analysis and NMR spectroscopy, with emphasis on the geometry of the cyclononenone moiety. The 1H‐ and 13C‐NMR spectra showed that the unsaturated nine‐membered ring of (E)‐isomer 3 in C6D6 and (D6)acetone solution exists in a sole conformation of type B 1 , which is similar to its solid‐state conformation. The (Z)‐isomer 2 in C6D6, CDCl3, and (D6)acetone solution, however, exists in two conformational forms of different families, with different orientation of the carbonyl group, the predominant form (85%) corresponding to the conformation of type A 1 and the minor (15%) to the conformation A 2 present also in the crystalline state. In this solid‐state conformations of the nine‐membered ring of both compounds, the 19‐Me and 5‐oxo groups are ‘β’‐oriented. The NMR analysis suggests that the nine‐membered ring of 4 has a conformation of type C 1 in CDCl3 solution.  相似文献

Based on 1H NMR spectral analysis combined with molecular simulation, conformational states of the cyclohexanone ring were studied for some 1R,4S‐2‐(4‐X‐benzylidene)‐p‐menthan‐3‐ones (X = COOCH3 or C6H5) in CDCl3 and C6D6. The co‐existence of chair conformers with an axial orientation of both alkyl substituents and twist‐boat forms was established for the compounds studied at room temperature (22–23° C). The substituent X does not influence appreciably the ratio of these conformers, but the fraction of twist‐boat forms increases noticeably in benzene solutions as compared with CDCl3 solutions. Rotameric states of the isopropyl fragment were also characterised for the compounds studied. Distinctions in conformational states for the 1R,4S‐2‐arylidene‐p‐menthan‐3‐ones and (?)‐menthone were revealed and are discussed. Copyright © 2002 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

The shape of the background in x‐ray photoemission spectra is strongly affected by scattered electrons from inelastic energy loss processes. A polynomial of low order has very often been applied to model the secondary‐electron background, giving satisfying results in some cases. An improved analysis employing the Tougaard background model has been successfully used to characterize the inelastic loss processes. However, the correct usage of the Tougaard background needs a well defined inelastic electron scattering cross‐section function λ(E) · K(E, T) (λ = inelastic mean free path, E = kinetic energy, T = energy loss). This paper presents a four‐parameter loss function λ(E) · K(E, T) = B · T/(C + C′ · T2)2 + D · T2 with the fitting parameters B, C, C′ and D implemented in the background function allowing the improved estimation of the λ(E) · K(E, T) function for homogenous materials. The fit of the background parameters is carried out parallel to the peak fit. The results will be compared with the parameters recommended by Tougaard. The calculation of inelastic electron scattering cross‐sections of clean surfaces from different materials using UNIFIT 2011 will be demonstrated. Copyright © 2011 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

The geometric, energetic, and spectroscopic properties of the ground state and the lowest four singlet excited states of pyrazine have been studied by using DFT/TD‐DFT, CASSCF, CASPT2, and related quantum chemical calculations. The second singlet nπ* state, 1Au, which is conventionally regarded dark due to the dipole‐forbidden 1Au1Ag transition, has been investigated in detail. Our new simulation has shown that the state could be visible in the absorption spectrum by intensity borrowing from neighboring nπ* 1B3u and ππ* 1B2u states through vibronic coupling. The scans on potential‐energy surfaces further indicated that the 1Au state intersects with the 1B2u states near the equilibrium of the latter, thus implying its participation in the ultrafast relaxation process.  相似文献

The potential energy curves have been investigated for the 10 lowest quartet electronic states in the 2s+1Λ± representation below 30,000 cm?1 of the molecule CrCl via CASSCF and MRCI (singly and doubly excitation with Davidson correction) calculations. The harmonic frequency ωe, the internuclear distance re, the rotational constant Be, the electronic energy with respect to the ground state Te, and the permanent dipole moment μ have been calculated. By using the canonical functions approach, the eigenvalues Ev, the rotational constant Bv, and the abscissas of the turning points rmin and rmax have been calculated for the considered electronic states up to the vibrational level v = 19. Seven electronic states have been studied here theoretically for the first time. The comparison of these values to the theoretical results available in the literature shows a good agreement. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Int J Quantum Chem, 2011  相似文献

The different thermally induced intermolecular electron transfer (IET) processes that can take place in the series of complexes [M(Cat‐N‐BQ)(Cat‐N‐SQ)]/[M(Cat‐N‐BQ)2], for which M=Co ( 2 ), Fe ( 3 ) and Ni( 4 ), and Cat‐N‐BQ and Cat‐N‐SQ denote the mononegative (Cat‐N‐BQ?) or dinegative (Cat‐N‐SQ2?) radical forms of the tridentate Schiff‐base ligand 3,5‐di‐tert‐butyl‐1,2‐quinone‐1‐(2‐hydroxy‐3,5‐di‐tert‐butylphenyl)imine, have been studied by variable‐temperature UV/Vis and NMR spectroscopies. Depending on the metal ion, rather different behaviors are observed. Complex 2 has been found to be one of the few examples so far reported to exhibit the coexistence of two thermally induced electron transfer processes, ligand‐to‐metal (IETLM) and ligand‐to‐ligand (IETLL). IETLL was only found to take place in complex 3 , and no IET was observed for complex 4 . Such experimental studies have been combined with ab initio wavefunction‐based CASSCF/CASPT2 calculations. Such a strategy allows one to solicit selectively the speculated orbitals and to access the ground states and excited‐spin states, as well as charge‐transfer states giving additional information on the different IET processes.  相似文献

The title compound, C32H43NO4·CH4O·H2O, has a nearly planar cyano‐enone A ring in an otherwise normal oleanane triterpenoid. Rings A, B and C are non‐chairs, but rings D and E adopt essentially cyclohexane chair conformations. The structure clearly establishes the CDE ring stereochemistry as transsyncis, as predicted from a nuclear Overhauser effect (NOE) NMR measurement.  相似文献

Methyl (2E,4R)‐4‐hydroxydec‐2‐enoate, methyl (2E,4S)‐4‐hydroxydec‐2‐enoate, and ethyl (±)‐(2E)‐4‐hydroxy[4‐2H]dec‐2‐enoate were chemically synthesized and incubated in the yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae. Initial C‐chain elongation of these substrates to C12 and, to a lesser extent, C14 fatty acids was observed, followed by γ‐decanolactone formation. Metabolic conversion of methyl (2E,4R)‐4‐hydroxydec‐2‐enoate and methyl (2E,4S)‐4‐hydroxydec‐2‐enoate both led to (4R)‐γ‐decanolactone with >99% ee and 80% ee, respectively. Biotransformation of ethyl (±)‐(2E)‐4‐hydroxy(4‐2H)dec‐2‐enoate yielded (4R)‐γ‐[2H]decanolactone with 61% of the 2H label maintained and in 90% ee indicating a stereoinversion pathway. Electron‐impact mass spectrometry analysis (Fig. 4) of 4‐hydroxydecanoic acid indicated a partial C(4)→C(2) 2H shift. The formation of erythro‐3,4‐dihydroxydecanoic acid and erythro‐3‐hydroxy‐γ‐decanolactone from methyl (2E,4S)‐4‐hydroxydec‐2‐enoate supports a net inversion to (4R)‐γ‐decanolactone via 4‐oxodecanoic acid. As postulated in a previous work, (2E,4S)‐4‐hydroxydec‐2‐enoic acid was shown to be a key intermediate during (4R)‐γ‐decanolactone formation via degradation of (3S,4S)‐dihydroxy fatty acids and precursors by Saccharomyces cerevisiae.  相似文献
