A fed-batch fermentation of glycerol by Klebsiella pneumoniae with open loop substrate input and pH logic control is considered in this paper. We propose a nonlinear hybrid system to describe this process, which consists of discrete variables to represent the flow rate of glycerol and alkali and continuous variables for substance concentrations. The hybrid system includes both time- and state-based switchings, which are respectively determined by a pre-assigned times sequence and an output equation of the pH. It is proved that the hybrid system is non-Zeno. Some basic properties of solutions to the hybrid system are also explored, including existence, uniqueness, boundedness and continuous dependence on initial state and parameters. Additionally, a numerical simulation is carried out to show that the proposed hybrid system can describe the fed-batch culture properly.  相似文献

The bioconversion of glycerol to 1,3-propanediol (1,3-PD) by Klebsiella pneumoniae (K. pneumoniae) can be characterized by an intricate metabolic network of interactions among biochemical fluxes, metabolic compounds, key enzymes and genetic regulation. Since there are some uncertain factors in the fermentation, especially the transport mechanisms of substances across cell membrane, the metabolic network contains multiple possible metabolic systems. In this paper, we establish a complex metabolic network and the corresponding nonlinear hybrid dynamical system aiming to determine the most possible metabolic system. The existence, uniqueness and continuity of solutions are discussed. We quantitatively describe biological robustness and present a system identification model on the basis of robustness performance. The identification problem is decomposed into two subproblems and a procedure is constructed to solve them. Numerical results show that it is most possible that both glycerol and 1,3-PD pass the cell membrane by active transport coupling with passive diffusion under substrate-sufficient conditions, whereas, under substrate-limited conditions, glycerol passes cell membrane by active transport coupling with passive diffusion and 1,3-PD by active transport.  相似文献

We study the existence of analytical solutions to a system of nonlinear equations under constraints linked to the analysis of a road safety measure without computing second derivatives. We formally demonstrate this existence of solutions by applying a matrix inversion principle through Schur complement to a subsystem of equations derived from the main system. The analytical results thus obtained are used to construct a simple iterative procedure to look for optimal solutions as well as an initial solution adapted to data of each case study. We illustrate our results with simulated accident data obtained from the setting-up of a road safety measure. The numerical solutions thus obtained are then compared to those given through a classic Newton-Raphson type approach directly applied to the main system.  相似文献

We search for traveling-wave solutions of the class of PDEswhere Ap(Q),Br(Q),Cs(Q),Du(Q) and F(Q) are polynomials of Q. The basis of the investigation is a modification of the method of simplest equation. The equations of Bernoulli, Riccati and the extended tanh-function equation are used as simplest equations. The obtained general results are illustrated by obtaining exact solutions of versions of the generalized Kuramoto-Sivashinsky equation, reaction-diffusion equation with density-dependent diffusion, and the reaction-telegraph equation.  相似文献

The purpose of this paper is to present a kind of analytical method so-called Predictor homotopy analysis method (PHAM) to predict the multiplicity of the solutions of nonlinear differential equations with boundary conditions. This method is very useful especially for those boundary value problems which admit multiple solutions and furthermore is capable to calculate all branches of the solutions simultaneously. As illustrative examples, the method is checked by the model of mixed convection flows in a vertical channel and a nonlinear model arising in heat transfer which both admit multiple (dual) solutions.  相似文献

A nonlinear autonomous switching system is proposed to describe the coupled fed-batch fermentation with the pH as the feedback parameter. We prove the non-Zeno behaviors of the switching system and some basic properties of its solution, including the existence, uniqueness, boundedness and regularity. Numerical simulation is also carried out, which reveals that the proposed system can describe the factual fermentation process properly.  相似文献

Variations in the concentrations of biomolecular species in vivo are inevitable, but regulation systems will act to maintain concentrations of certain species within proper levels. Such a ubiquitous trait in biological systems is the so-called concentration robustness. In this work, we study the concentration robustness of glycerol metabolism system, in which some mechanistic details are not clearly known and the true metabolic system need to be identified from all possible ones. We give a quantitative index to measure the concentration robustness of the considered system, which is characterized as the maximum relative variation in certain entries of steady state caused by the perturbations of operating parameters. Based on the proposed robustness index, a minimax dynamic optimization problem is developed for identifying the kinetic parameters as well as the unknown metabolic mechanisms. A scheme based on Monte-Carlo method is proposed to evaluate the robustness index approximately and convergence result is obtained. An algorithm is constructed to solve the dynamic optimization problem and numerical results are presented to show that the proposed robustness index could measure concentration robustness of the considered system properly.  相似文献

The relationship between the inertia of a symmetric real matrix and the inertia of its projection to a subspace is studied. The result is then used to characterize a Karush-Kuhn-Tucker point of a nonlinear programming problem by the inertia of a Hessian of Lagrangian with respect to both primal and dual variables. A theorem of Kojima on the determinant of a matrix in nonlinear programming is also derived as a direct consequence of the result.  相似文献

Nonlinear filter generators are commonly used as keystream generators in stream ciphers. A nonlinear filter generator utilizes a nonlinear filtering function to combine the outputs of a linear feedback shift register (LFSR) to improve the linear complexity of keystream sequences. However, the LFSR-based stream ciphers are still potentially vulnerable to algebraic attacks that recover the key from some keystream bits. Although the known algebraic attacks only require polynomial time complexity of computations, all have their own constraints. This paper uses the linearization of nonlinear filter generators to cryptanalyze LFSR-based stream ciphers. Such a method works for any nonlinear filter generators. Viewing a nonlinear filter generator as a Boolean network that evolves as an automaton through Boolean functions, we first give its linearization representation. Compared to the linearization representation in Limniotis et al. (2008), this representation requires lower spatial complexity of computations in most cases. Based on the representation, the key recoverability is analyzed via the observability of Boolean networks. An algorithm for key recovery is given as well. Compared to the exhaustive search to recover the key, using this linearization representation requires lower time complexity of computations, though it leads to exponential time complexity.  相似文献

This paper defines a minimal repair in the term of the failure rate and devices some probability quantities and reliability properties. According to the controllability of pulse times and the amount of jumps in the states at these times in the process of fed-batch culture producing 1,3-propanediol, this paper proposes a terminal optimal control model, whose constraint condition is the nonlinear impulsive delay system. The existence of optimal control is discussed and an optimization algorithm which is applied to each subinternal over one cycle for this optimal control problem is constructed. Finally, the numerical simulations show that the terminal intensity of producing 1,3-propanediol has been increased obviously.  相似文献
