A semi-flow type apparatus was used to measure the equilibrium solubilities of benzoin , propyl 4-hydroxybenzoate, and mandelic acid in supercritical carbon dioxide at 308.15, 318.15, and 328.15 K over the pressure range from 9 to 24 MPa. New equilibrium data of solid solubility in supercritical carbon dioxide are presented. The approach to solid–fluid phase equilibrium is examined based on a plug flow fluid–solid mass transfer model. The Soave–Redlich–Kwong and the Peng–Robinson equations of state (EOS), with the van der Waals and the Huron–Vidal type mixing rules were used to correlate the experimental data. The solid solubility data were also correlated with density based semi-empirical equations of Chrastil, and Santiago–Teja. It is shown that these solid solubility data are correlated with reasonably good accuracy using optimally fitted parameters.  相似文献

对比了商品化的淀粉型手性固定相Chiralcel OJ-H和纤维素型手性固定相Chiralpak AD-H柱在正相条件下对扁桃酸系列8个化合物的拆分,结果表明Chiralcel OJ-H柱对扁桃酸系列化合物具有更强的手性识别能力,8个外消旋扁桃酸化合物在36 min内都得到了基线分离。研究发现,扁桃酸苯环上的取代基对其拆分的难易程度影响很大,其电子诱导效应影响扁桃酸类化合物在固定相上的保留时间,其空间位阻效应是扁桃酸在固定相上被拆分成败的决定因素。通过对比分析扁桃酸和手性柱的结构,探讨了可能的手性拆分机理是基于Chiralpak AD-H(Chiralcel OJ-H)手性固定相和扁桃酸系列化合物之间的氢键-氢键、偶极-偶极、π-π电子相互作用以及空间适应性等诸多因素的综合影响,其中空间适应性起到至关重要的作用。本研究可为一些实际光学活性扁桃酸及其类似物的对映体纯度测定与拆分研究提供参考。  相似文献

The determination of uranium at different stages of the recovery process as well as in seawater is important in its recovery study. A previous study developed a high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) method for uranium determination in seawater using α-hydroxy isobutyric acid as a chelating agent. However, this method causes turbidity in process samples containing high amounts of iron, resulting in the clogging of the HPLC column. In the present work, use of mandelic acid as a chelating agent for uranium has been explored. Elution conditions were optimized for the separation of iron [Fe(III)] and uranium [U(VI)] by studying the effect of an ion interaction reagent, the concentration of mandelic acid, and methanol content in the mobile phase. Different parameters were optimized to develop off- line pre-concentration of uranyl-mandelate on the reversed stationary phase. The method offers quantitative recovery of uranium and linearity in the U(VI) concentration range of 0.5 ppb to 500 ppb and can be used for the determination of U(VI) in process samples with Fe/U amount ratios up to 3,000. The method has been successfully used for the determination of U(VI) in seawater samples and process samples. The developed methodology was validated by comparing the results with those of isotope dilution-thermal ionization mass spectrometry.  相似文献

An S‐mandelic acid imprinted chitosan resin was synthesized by cross‐linking chitosan with glutaraldehyde in 2% acetic acid solution. S‐Mandelic acid imprinted chitosan resin was used to enantioselectively separate racemic mandelic acid in aqueous medium. When keeping the pH of sample solution (100 mM Tris‐H3PO4) at 3.5 and adsorption time at 40 min, the enantiomer excess of mandelic acid in supernatant was 78.8%. The adsorption capacities of S‐mandelic acid imprinted chitosan resin for S‐ and R‐mandelic acid were determined to be 29.5 and 2.03 mg/g, respectively. While the adsorption capacities of non‐imprinted cross‐linked chitosan for S‐ and R‐mandelic acid were 2.10 and 2.08 mg/g, respectively. The result suggests that the imprinted caves in S‐mandelic acid imprinted chitosan resin are highly matched with S‐mandelic acid molecule in space structure and spatial arrangement of action sites. Interestingly, the enantiomer excess value of mandelic acid in supernatant after adsorption of racemic mandelic acid by R‐mandelic acid imprinted cross‐linked chitosan was 25.4%. The higher enantiomer excess value by S‐mandelic acid imprinted chitosan resin suggests that the chiral carbons in chitosan and the imprinted caves in S‐mandelic acid imprinted chitosan resin combine to play roles for the enantioselectivity of S‐mandelic acid imprinted chitosan resin toward S‐mandelic acid. Furthermore, the excellent enantioselectivity of S‐mandelic acid imprinted chitosan resin toward S‐mandelic acid demonstrates that using chiral chitosan as functional monomer to prepare molecularly imprinted polymers has great potential in enantioseparation of chiral pharmaceuticals.  相似文献

Mandelic acid and its derivatives are important medical intermediates in the pharmaceutical industry. Different stereoisomers exhibited distinct biological properties to human bodies. Given that, enantioselective recognition and separation of mandelic acid are of great importance. In this study, four novel different types of chiral ionic liquids bearing designed functional groups were synthesized and successful enantioselective precipitation with mandelic acid and its derivatives. That is, (R, R)‐chiral ionic liquid 1 can coprecipitated with S‐mandelic acid and its derivatives was observed. In addition, good correlation coefficient is achieved by using electrospray mass spectrum at negative ion pattern for quick analysis of the enantioselective precipitation, which could be served as a method of enantioselective recognition. The possible intermolecular interactions are established after systematical studies by NMR spectroscopy and DFT calculations.  相似文献

以双水相体系为手性识别体系, 研究了异丙醇/盐和TritonX-114温度双水相体系中扁桃酸的分配行为. 对于醇/盐体系, 扁桃酸均倾向于分配在醇相中, 不适合作为手性识别系统; 而对于TritonX-114温度双水相体系, 扁桃酸富集于水相, 适合作为手性识别系统. 以L-酒石酸正戊酯和β-环糊精作为手性识别剂, 对TritonX-114/L-酒石酸正戊酯、TritonX-114/L-酒石酸正戊酯/茶皂素和TritonX-114/β-环糊精3个识别体系的研究发现, TritonX-114/L-酒石酸正戊酯/茶皂素和TritonX-114/β-环糊精体系中, 手性识别效果明显, 最佳分离体系为: 茶皂素含量0.51 mmol, L-酒石酸正戊酯含量1.4 mmol, 温度55 ℃, 最大分离因子1.29.  相似文献

A new chiral stationary phase (CSP) was synthesized based on (S)-1-anilino-3-propyl-2-propanol covalently bonded to the mesoporous semi-crystalline material M41S. Direct semipreparative enantioseparation of mandelic acid could be achieved using medium pressure chromatography. Partly separated could also be the enantiomers of 2,2'-dihydroxy-1,1'-binaphthalene, cyanochromene oxide, diethyl tartrate and 2-phenyl propionic acid. The characterization of CSP was accomplished by microanalysis, cross polarized magic angle spinning (CP-MAS) 13C NMR, powder X-ray diffraction (XRD), FTIR, thermo-gravimetric analysis (TGA), N2 adsorption-desorption isotherm, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and solid reflectance UV-vis spectroscopy. Furthermore the stability of CSP was satisfactory as it could withstand three washing and reuse experiments of enantioseparation of mandelic acid without loss in its performance.  相似文献

The estimation of solid–liquid phase equilibrium is important for the design, development, and operation of many industrial processes because of application in many manufacturing fields such as cosmetic, pharmaceutic, and biotechnology industries. In this work, we measured solid–liquid phase equilibrium of six fatty acid binary mixtures using the DSC technique and developed thermodynamic approaches for binary fatty acid mixtures to estimate melting temperatures as a function of mole fraction in solid–liquid phase equilibrium. Derivation of NRTL and UNIQUAC activity models was developed to predict melting temperatures and latent heat to achieve eutectic points of undecylic acid, pentadecylic acid, margaric acid, and stearic acid six pairwise binary mixtures. The fatty acids eutectic mixtures are appropriate for heat water systems, phase clothes, concrete, and other similar applications. The results showed low deviations from experimental data measured in this study.

Four non-symmetric dimers containing mandelic acid as the chiral core have been synthesised, termed as QBMA-B, QBMA-BCN, QBMA-BBCN and QBBMA-BBCN, respectively. Chemical structures and liquid crystal (LC) properties of the dimers were characterised by FTIR, 1H-NMR, differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), thermogravimetric analysis (TG) and polarised optical microscopy (POM). The results indicated that the rigidity and conformation of the molecules of the dimers played important effects on their mesophase properties. QBMA-B did not display any mesophase, QBMA-BCN and QBMA-BBCN exhibited nematic (N) phases, while QBBMA-BBCN displayed cholesteric (ch) phase, which indicated that chiral mandelic acid could induce cholesteric phase, but some attention should be paid to the molecular conformation to obtain cholesteric phase. For the four dimers, melting temperature (Tm) increased first and then decreased, inferring that molecular conformation played a more important effect besides molecular weight and rigidity.  相似文献

In the current study, a novel technique for extraction and determination of trans,trans‐muconic acid, hippuric acid, and mandelic acid was developed by means of ion‐pair‐based hollow fiber liquid‐phase microextraction in the three‐phase mode. Important factors affecting the extraction efficiency of the method were investigated and optimized. These metabolites were extracted from 10 mL of the source phase into a supported liquid membrane containing 1‐octanol and 10% w/v of Aliquat 336 as the ionic carrier followed by high‐performance liquid chromatography analysis. The organic phase immobilized in the pores of a hollow fiber was back‐extracted into 24 μL of a solution containing 3.0 mol/L sodium chloride placed inside the lumen of the fiber. A very high preconcentration of 212‐ to 440‐fold, limit of detection of 0.1–7 μg/L, and relative recovery of 87–95% were obtained under the optimized conditions of this method. The relative standard deviation values for within‐day and between‐day precisions were calculated at 2.9–8.5 and 4.3–11.2%, respectively. The method was successfully applied to urine samples from volunteers at different work environments. The results demonstrated that the method can be used as a sensitive and effective technique for the determination of the metabolites in urine.  相似文献

In this work, a simple and rapid approach was developed for separation and detection of chiral compounds based on a magnetic molecularly imprinted polymer modified poly(dimethylsiloxane) (PDMS) microchip coupled with electrochemical detection. Molecularly imprinted polymers were prepared employing Fe3O4 nanoparticles (NPs) as the supporting substrate and norepinephrine as the functional monomer in the presence of template molecule in a weak alkaline solution. After extracting the embedded template molecules, Fe3O4@polynorepinephrine NPs (MIP–Fe3O4@PNE NPs) showed specific molecular recognition selectivity and high affinity towards the template molecule, which were then used as stationary phase of microchip capillary electrochromatography for chiral compounds separation. Mandelic acid and histidine enantiomers were used as model compounds to test the chiral stationary phase. By using R‐mandelic acid as the template molecule, mandelic acid enantiomer was effectively separated and detected on the MIP‐Fe3O4@PNE NPs modified PDMS microchip. Moreover, the successful separation of histidine enantiomers on the MIP–Fe3O4@PNE NPs modified microchip using L‐histidine as template molecule was also achieved.  相似文献

Racemic mandelic acid was resolved through R(-)-mandelic acid salt with L-phenylalanine methyl ester in ethanol; the antipode S(+)-mandelic acid was then recovered from the mother liquid. Both were prepared in high yield and in highly optical purity. Carboxypeptidase A was also used in the separation of S(+)-mandelic acid via selective hydrolysis of hippuryl-RS-mandelic acid. The reference material was prepared by freeze-drying pooled urine samples obtained from healthy persons occupationally exposed to styrene. The concentrations of mandelic acid (MA), phenylglyoxylic acid (PGA), and hippuric acid (HA) in urine were determined by three modes of high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). For isochronous stability testing the urinary mandelic acid and phenylglyoxylic acid concentrations were followed over a 24-month period for a preliminary batch by use of HPLC. No changes of the concentration values were found. The creatinine concentration was stable for more than five years. Standard Reference Material NIST 914a Creatinine was used for traceability purposes for creatinine. Pure chemicals MA and PGA were used for traceability purposes. Control material ClinChek-Urine Control (Recipe) was analyzed simultaneously. The mean values of MA and PGA compare well with the means and fall within the control range of control samples. Results from homogeneity, stability, and traceability testing were evaluated using the statistical program ANOVA. The certified values and their uncertainties were evaluated from the results of interlaboratory comparisons, and homogeneity and stability tests. We report the synthesis and enantioseparation characteristics of two novel covalently immobilized deoxycholic acid derivatives as chiral stationary phases for high‐performance liquid chromatography. In the structure of the first stationary phase, the 3‐position of deoxycholic acid is substituted with a 3,5‐dinitrophenylcarbamoyl group and the second one has an additional calix[4]arene attached to the carboxylic group of the deoxycholic acid. The chromatographic performance of the stationary phases was evaluated with enantioseparation of N‐(3,5‐dinitrobenzoyl)‐dl ‐leucine, N‐(3,5‐dinitrobenzoyl)‐dl ‐valine, omeprazole, diclofop‐methyl, dl ‐mandelic acid and (RS)‐pregabalin. Comparison of the performance characteristics of the prepared chiral stationary phases provided evidence for the active involvement of the calix[4]arene unit in the chiral recognition process. Both stationary phases are chemically bonded to the silica and can be used in both normal‐phase and reversed‐phase modes.  相似文献

Ultra‐performance liquid chromatography coupled with tandem mass spectrometry was used for the biological monitoring of workers occupationally exposed to solvents. The method was developed using a triple quadrupole to investigate the relevant urinary metabolites of styrene, namely mandelic acid and phenylglyoxylic acid. The method provides quantitative and qualitative data to give additional assurance about the nature of the contaminant analyzed in workers' urine. A full scan and a product ion scan were acquired within the chromatographic peak acquired in MRM. For the two metabolites, the repeatability was 96%, the precision ≥97%, and the accuracy ≥93 ± 3%. The quantitative performances were not influenced by the inclusion of simultaneous full scan acquisition as compared to a usual quantitative approach. Footprints of each substance of interest were obtained at each injection, and full scan data can be interrogated for the presence of interferences and other contaminants. The method developed has been submitted to random real samples from both non‐occupationally and occupationally exposed workers. The urines of non‐occupationally exposed workers were all free of mandelic acid, phenylglyoxylic acid and putative interferences showing the high selectivity of the method. However, the urines of occupationally exposed workers were robustly quantified. The levels of mandelic acid and phenylglyoxylic acid ranged between 0.2 and 9 mM, and the footprints of each metabolite and structural information were acquired in parallel with the quantitative results, thus providing unquestionable data about the nature of the contaminant and the levels reported. The combination of qualitative information acquired simultaneously with quantitative results provides the structural information needed in case of questions, without any harmful effect on the robustness and throughput of the quantitative analysis. Abstract

A simple, sensitive, and reproducible high performance liquid chromatographic procedure is described for the simultaneous determination of urinary metabolites of several aromatic hydrocarbons: mandelic and phenylglyoxylic acids from ethylbenzene; hippuric acid from toluene, and methylhippuric acids from xylenes. The employed mobile phase and the chromatographic conditions allowed relatively low detection limits (0.1 to 0.2 mg/L). The method was tested on 33 workers in the paint industry and on 33 nonoccupationally exposed Tunisian subjects. A significant difference of metabolite concentrations was found between the two groups. In the exposed group, most of the measured levels were lower than the biological exposure indices.  相似文献

采用循环伏安法制备了聚邻甲苯胺(POT)膜电极,再以浸泡吸附法在此膜中嵌入Cu2+,制成POT-Cu2+膜电极.研究了POT-Cu2+膜电极对3-乙氧基-4-羟基苯乙醇酸的电氧化行为,并讨论了影响电氧化活性的主要因素.结果表明,50℃下,在含有0.5mol.L-13-乙氧基-4-羟基苯乙醇酸的1.5mol.L-1氢氧化钠溶液中,POT-Cu2+膜电极具有高的电氧化活性和良好的稳定性.将该电极用于3-乙氧基-4-羟基苯乙醇酸电解氧化脱羧制备乙基香兰素,在0.55V(vsSCE)下恒电位电解1h,乙基香兰素的产率可达89%以上,电流效率达97%以上.  相似文献

A new chiral stationary phase based on molecularly imprinted polymers (MIP) was prepared in ionic liquid by use of the metal pivot concept. Imprinted monoliths were synthesized by use of a mixture of R-mandelic acid (template), 4-vinylpyridine, ethylene glycol dimethacrylate, and several metal ions as pivot between the template and functional monomer. A ternary mixture of dimethyl sulfoxide–dimethylformamide–[BMIM]BF4 containing metal ions was used as the porogenic system. Separation of the enantiomers of rac-mandelic acid was successfully achieved on the MIP thus obtained, with resolution of 1.87, whereas no enantiomer separation was observed on the imprinted monolithic column in the absence of metal ions. The effects of polymerization conditions, including the nature of the metal ion and the ratios of template to metal ions and template to functional monomer, on the chiral separation of mandelic acid were investigated. The results reveal that use of metal ions as a pivot, in combination with ionic liquid, is an effective method for preparation of a highly efficient MIP stationary phase for chiral separation.

New resolving bases for ibuprofen 1 and mandelic acid 2 were studied and qualified by their binary phase diagrams of the corresponding salts. It was shown that analysis of the binary phase diagrams gives a good prediction for a resolution process. A comparison of resolving bases revealed that (S)-phenylglycinol (S)-7 is the best resolving base for ibuprofen 1. By the same procedure, various resolving bases for mandelic acid 2 were studied. The known resolving base (S)-MBA 9 was found to be the best for this acid.  相似文献
