We report on a far-infrared Fabry Perot filter with high-T c superconductor reflectors that has a high peak-transmission. The filter consists of two plane parallel MgO plates, with the adjacent surfaces coated with YBa2Cu3O7-gd thin films. The resonance frequencies are mainly determined by the distance between the films. We present data for a filter that has for the first order resonance at a frequency of 80 cm–1a quality factor of 55 and a peak-transmissivity of 0.16. The shape of the transmission curve is determined by standing waves between the films and within the plates.  相似文献

Open resonators are studied based on the scattering theory. In particular, a theory of open resonators with a dielectric plate is constructed. This theory is used to develop a technique for measuring small dielectric loss. Measurements of the loss tangent in diamond plates show that the volume absorption in the best samples is ≈7×10?6 in the high-frequency part of the millimeter-wave range. A significant absorption in thin surface layers that is caused by surface treatment techniques (polishing, vacuum soldering, etc.) is revealed.  相似文献

In the paper, we present a new method of restraining the Fabry–Perot resonance. The method is to combine dip angle with taper angle in the structure of the device and avoids the process of antireflection coatings. The experimental results show that restraining effect is apparent. A high threshold current has been obtained for the sample with both dip angle and taper angle structure. It provides a new method to make traveling-wave optical amplifiers.  相似文献

A direct detection Doppler wind lidar with the dual Fabry–Perot technique has been built in Hefei, China, and the system is described in this paper. A dual, air-spaced Fabry–Perot etalon is designed as the frequency discriminator and the transmission characteristics are measured with a stabilized cw laser and a pulse laser. The experimental data are found to be in agreement with the designed parameters. The Doppler shift is measured by taking the ratio of the transmitted intensities from the dual etalon. Analysis of the accuracy of Doppler measurement is made by considering the factors of the number of iterations in converting the measured ratio to the Doppler shift, the laser intensity fluctuation and the signal-to-noise ratio. In the sufficient signal-to-noise ratio the velocity accuracy of the Doppler lidar system is estimated to be better than 0.5 m/s.  相似文献

10 0多年前 ,查尔斯·法布里 (CharlesFabry)和艾尔弗雷德·珀罗 (AlfredPerot)发表了人们现在称之为法布里 -珀罗干涉仪的最重要的论文 .法布里 -珀罗干涉仪对于当前光学和天体物理学的研究是非常重要的仪器 .文章主要介绍了法布里和珀罗的生平与工作 .2 0世纪初 ,由于他们对光学和光谱学的贡献受到了全世界的物理学家的高度尊敬 .后来他们对天体物理学也做出了许多重要的贡献 ,其中包括 1913年法布里与BuissonH对地球大气中的臭氧层的发现 .法布里教授曾是中国物理学家严济慈的恩师 .文章也简要评述了法布里教授对严济慈研究工作的深刻影响 .  相似文献

By utilizing a Fabry-Perot (FP) nanocavity adjacent to T-shaped gap waveguide ports, spectrally selective filtering is realized. When the wavelength of incident light corresponds to the resonance wavelength of the FP nanocavity, the surface plasmons are captured inside the nanocavity, and light is highly reflected from this port. The resonance wavelength is determined by using Fabry-Perot resonance condition for the nanocavity. For any desired filtering frequency the dimension of the nanocavity can be tailored. The numerical results are based on the two-dimensional finite difference time domain simulation under a perfectly matched layer absorbing boundary condition. The analytical and simulation results indicate that the proposed structure can be utilized for filtering and splitting applications.  相似文献

Based on time-domain laser modeling, we have systematically evaluated multi-mode excitation and mode competition in directly modulated Fabry–Perot laser diodes biased with different current levels. In our simulation, random noise fluctuations depending on the bias current are included since they play an important role in determining the number of lasing modes. Multi-mode excitation and mode competition occurred at the biased current below the threshold current can be explained with the aid of frequency chirp at turn-on and gain difference in between '0' and '1' bits. The positive frequency chirp (25 GHz for lasers biased below the threshold current and 15 GHz for lasers biased above the threshold current) affects to enhance the probability of multi-mode excitation in low-frequency region during turn-on delay.  相似文献

Microscopic many-body theory for electronic properties of solid states is developed with an emphasis on the role of correlation memory effects. Heisenberg equation of motion, fluctuation-dissipation theorem and operators of commutation have been used to calculate multiplasmon transmission electron energy loss spectra. Multiquantum integral kinetic equation for the longitudinal complex dielectric function is derived. Strong interaction between high-energy probe beam electrons penetrating the solid state and plasma of valence electrons is taken into account. It is shown that average number of high-frequency plasmons generated in every collision process is more than one for typical values of metal parameters. It is obtained that excitation of a good few plasmons is simultaneous event. Calculated multiplasmon structure of electron energy loss spectra coincides with experimental.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with sound transmission loss of metamaterial-based thin plates consisting of multiple subwavelength arrays of spring–mass resonators attached to an unbounded homogenous thin plate. Two analytical wave approaches are developed for the calculation of diffuse field sound transmission loss of such metamaterial-based thin plates. Numerical results show that a metamaterial-based plate can result in much higher sound transmission loss than a bare plate (with the same surface mass density) at frequencies within the mass-law region and the coincidence region. It is also demonstrated that by using an extremely thin plate to form a metanaterial-based plate, the construction can be implemented as a potential sound insulation material with good performance at low frequencies.  相似文献

Reported here are the results on level and structure of the radiated field of an open resonator at and off resonance. On the basis of the modelling problem rigorous solution and the measurements at 4-millimeter wavelength we find there are no ways to compensate the radiated field from an open electromagnetic structure at resonance. Analysis of open resonator excitation efficiency shows that the mismatch loss of a slot-fed open resonator runs to 34% while at the aperture-feed excitation this is not more than 6% for the same-geometry resonator.  相似文献

We fabricated and investigated the thermal characteristics of TO-CAN (transistor-outline-can) packaged long wavelength GaInAsP/InP Fabry–Perot laser diode. Characteristic temperature of 55 K and peak wavelength shift of 0.4 nm/°C depending on the temperatures were obtained. Furthermore, overheating of semiconductor laser originated from thermal resistance is analyzed and evaluated by measuring junction temperature. Results from experiment and estimation are compared at extreme operating conditions in which show agreement within 1 °C.  相似文献

A theory of coupled open resonators with an inclined beam splitter is constructed on the basis of numerical solution of integral equations with allowance for ohmic and diffraction losses caused by finiteness of mirror sizes. High selectivity of longitudinal modes is shown to be possible with the effective extraction in the form of a wave beam and excess of the useful radiation power over the internal loss.  相似文献

A method of comparing the sound transmission characteristics of various materials, and combinations of materials, is presented, using a modified impedance tube technique. The procedure proved to be relatively quick and inexpensive in comparison with standard reverberation suite tests, and is therefore particularly useful for the qualitative ranking of multiple samples.The limitations of the technique are discussed in some detail, and particular emphasis is given to the problems of small sample size and method of mounting in the apparatus.  相似文献
