A criterion for the relative weak compactness of sets of transition probabilitieson T×B(S) was given by Balder (1984 a),T being a space equipped with a fixed measure andB(S) denoting the σ-algebra of a standard Borel spaceS. This result, which generalizes Prohorov's classical tightness criterion, is extended here so as to cover the case where the spaceS is σ-standard Borel. As a consequence, the method applied in Balder (1984 a) now yields a new general infinite, dimensional lower closure result that can be used in the existence theory for optimal control.  相似文献

It is pointed out that Corollary 1 in a recent paper by Khan et al. (Int J Game Theory 34:91–104, 2006), presented there as an extension of the Dvoretzky–Wald–Wolfowitz theorem, is a special case of Lyapunov’s theorem for Young measures (Balder in Rend Instit Mat Univ Trieste 31 Suppl. 1:1–69) It is also pointed out that Theorems 1–4 in Khan et al. (Int J Game Theory 34:91–104, 2006) follow from a single strong purification per se result that is already contained, as an implementation of that Lyapunov theorem for Young measures, in the proof of Theorem 2.2.1 in Balder (J Econ Theory 102:437–470, 2002).  相似文献

Some exponential inequalities for a negatively orthant dependent sequence are obtained. By using the exponential inequalities, we study the asymptotic approximation of inverse moment for negatively orthant dependent random variables, which generalizes and improves the corresponding results of Kaluszka and Okolewski [Kaluszka, M., Okolewski, A., 2004. We study Stackelberg games with incomplete information in a general setting. In particular, we deduce the follower's reaction function, a set-valued function of the leader's action choice and a parameter specifying the follower's payoff type (a parameter about which the leader has only incomplete information), and using a generalized version of Komlos' Theorem due to Balder (1987), we show the existence of an expected payoff maximizing, incentive compatible strategy for the leader given the follower's reaction function.  相似文献

Fatou’s lemma plays an important role in classical probability and measure theory. Non-additive measure is a generalization of additive probability measure. Sugeno’s integral is a useful tool in several theoretical and applied statistics which have been built on non-additive measure. In this paper, a Fatou-type lemma for Sugeno integral is shown. The studied inequality is based on the classical Fatou lemma for Lebesgue integral. To illustrate the proposed inequalities some examples are given.  相似文献

This paper presents a Komlós theorem that extends to the case of the set-valued Henstock-Kurzweil-Pettis integral a result obtained by Balder and Hess (in the integrably bounded case) and also a result of Hess and Ziat (in the Pettis integrability setting). As applications, a solution to a best approximation problem is given, weak compactness results are deduced and, finally, an existence theorem for an integral inclusion involving the Henstock-Kurzweil-Pettis set-valued integral is obtained.  相似文献

Balder’s well-known existence theorem (1983) for infinite-horizon optimal control problems is extended to the case in which the integral functional is understood as an improper integral. Simultaneously, the condition of strong uniform integrability (over all admissible controls and trajectories) of the positive part max{f0, 0} of the utility function (integrand) f0 is relaxed to the requirement that the integrals of f0 over intervals [T, T′] be uniformly bounded above by a function ω(T, T′) such that ω(T, T′) → 0 as T, T′→∞. This requirement was proposed by A.V. Dmitruk and N.V. Kuz’kina (2005); however, the proof in the present paper does not follow their scheme, but is instead derived in a rather simple way from the auxiliary results of Balder himself. In this paper, some approximation formulae for a class of convolution type double singular integral operators depending on three parameters of the type(T_λf)(x, y) = ∫_a~b ∫_a~b f(t, s)K_λ(t-x,s-y)dsdt, x,y ∈(a,b), λ∈Λ  [0,∞),(0.1)are given. Here f belongs to the function space L_1( a,b ~2), where a,b is an arbitrary interval in R. In this paper three theorems are proved, one for existence of the operator(T_λf)(x, y) and the others for its Fatou-type pointwise convergence to f(x_0, y_0), as(x,y,λ) tends to(x_0, y_0, λ_0). In contrast to previous works, the kernel functions K_λ(u,v)don't have to be 2π-periodic, positive, even and radial. Our results improve and extend some of the previous results of [1, 6, 8, 10, 11, 13] in three dimensional frame and especially the very recent paper [15].  相似文献

In this paper we prove common fixed-point theorems for a pair of multi-valued non-self-mappings in metrically convex metric spaces. Our results generalize and extend both theorems of Itoh, (Comment. Math. Univ. Carolin. 18 (1977) 247) and Khan, (Pacific J. Math. 95 (1981) 337), the theorem of Assad, (Boll. Un. Math. Ital. 4 (1973) 1), the theorem of Rhoades, (Comment. Math. Univ. For sequential decision processes with countable state spaces, we prove compactness of the set of strategic measures corresponding to nonrandomized policies. For the Borel state case, this set may not be compact (Piunovskiy, Optimal control of random sequences in problems with constraints. Kluwer, Boston, p. 170, 1997) in spite of compactness of the set of strategic measures corresponding to all policies (Schäl, On dynamic programming: compactness of the space of policies. Stoch Processes Appl 3(4):345–364, 1975b; Balder, On compactness of the space of policies in stochastic dynamic programming. Stoch Processes Appl 32(1):141–150, 1989). We use the compactness result from this paper to show the existence of optimal policies for countable-state constrained optimization of expected discounted and nonpositive rewards, when the optimality is considered within the class of nonrandomized policies. This paper also studies the convergence of a value-iteration algorithm for such constrained problems.  相似文献

The problem of limit cycles is interesting and significant both in theory and applications. In mathematical ecology, finding models that display a stable limit cycle—an attracting stable self-sustained oscillation, is a primary work.In this paper, a general Kolmogorov system, which includes the Gause-type model (Math. Biosci. 88 (1988) 67), the general predator-prey model (J. Phys. A: Math. Gen. 21 (1988) L685; Math. Biosci. 96 (1989) 47), and many other models (J. Biomath. 15(3) (2001) 266; J. Biomath. 16(2) (2001) 156; J. Math. 21(22) (2001) 145), is studied. The conditions for the existence and uniqueness of limit cycles in this model are proved. Some known results are easily derived as an illustration of our work.  相似文献

New oscillation criteria for the second-order Emden–Fowler delay differential equation with a sublinear neutral term are presented. An essential feature of our results is that oscillation of the studied equation is ensured via only one condition. Furthermore, as opposed to the results by Agarwal et al. (Ann. Mat. Pura Appl. (4) 193 (2014), no. 6, 1861–1875), Li and Rogovchenko (Math. Nachr. 288 (2015), no. 10, 1150–1162; Monatsh. Math. 184 (2017), no. 3, 489–500), and Xu (Monatsh. Math. 150 (2007), no. 2, 157–171), new criteria can be applied to Emden–Fowler delay differential equations with noncanonical operators and a sublinear neutral term. Our results essentially improve, extend, and simplify some known ones reported in the literature. The results are illustrated with examples.  相似文献
