An organophosphorus compound, 10-(2,5-dihydroxyl phenyl)-9, 10-dihydro-9-oxa-10-phosphaphenanthrene-10-oxide (DHPDOPO), was synthesized through the reaction of 9,10-dihydro-9-oxa-10-phosphaphnanthrene-10-oxide (DOPO) and p-benzoquinone, and characterized by elemental analysis, Fourier transform infrared spectrum (FTIR), and 1H-NMR and 31P-NMR spectroscopes. Consequently, the phosphorus-containing epoxy resins with phosphorus content of 1 and 2 wt.% were prepared via the reaction of diglycidyl ether of bisphenol-A with DHPDOPO and bisphenol-A, and confirmed with FTIR and gel permeation chromatography (GPC). Phenolic melamine, novolak, and dicyanodiamide (DICY) were used as curing agents to prepare the thermosetted resins with the control and the phosphorus-containing epoxy resins. Thermal properties and thermal degradation behaviors of these the thermosetted resins were investigated by using differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). Phenolic melamine-cured resins exhibited higher glass transition temperatures than the other cured resins due to the high rigidity of their molecular chain. TGA studies demonstrated that the decomposition temperatures of the novolak-cured resins were higher than those of the others. A synergistic effect from the combination of the phosphorus-containing epoxy resin and the nitrogen-containing curing agent can result in a great improvement of the flame retardance for their thermosetted resins.  相似文献

The copolymerisation of benzoxazine of bisphenol A and diglycidyl ether of (2,5-dihydroxyphenyl)diphenyl phosphine oxide or diglycidyloxymethylphenylsilane has been studied. In all samples the molar ratio of the benzoxazine-epoxy system was varied to achieve different phosphorus or silicon contents. Their thermal, dynamic-mechanical and flame retardant properties were evaluated. The high limiting oxygen index values confirmed that the phosphorus-containing benzoxazine-epoxy resins are effective flame retardants, but no efficiency of silicon on flame retardation was observed.  相似文献

A series of intumescent flame-retardant epoxy resins (IFR-EPs) were prepared only by adding a 5 wt% total loading of ammonium polyphosphate (APP) and metal compounds. All the samples could achieve V-0 rating and did not generate dripping during UL-94 testing. The limiting oxygen index (LOI) values of the samples with 4.83 wt% APP and 0.17 wt% CoSA increase from 27.1 to 29.4, compared with epoxy resin containing 5 wt% APP. The samples also showed excellent water resistance of flame retardancy in 30 °C and 70 °C water for 168 h. The LOI results show that the composition of metal compounds (metal ions and ligands/anions) and the mass ratios of APP to metal compounds affect the flame retardancy of the samples. TG results indicate that the catalytic effect of CoSA on the decomposition of both APP and the epoxy resins containing APP is better than that of CuSAO. The fire behavior of epoxy resin and epoxy resins containing APP with/without CoSA were investigated by cone calorimeter. Cone calorimeter parameters of the samples such as HRR, THR, TSP and COP indicate that the addition of APP and CoSA improves the fire safety of epoxy resin significantly, and CoSA shows an obvious catalytic effect.  相似文献

Epoxy resins with different silicon contents were prepared from silicon-containing epoxides or silicon-containing prepolymers by curing with 4,4′-diaminodiphenylmethane. The reactivity of the silicon-based compounds toward amine curing agents was higher than that of the conventional epoxy resins. The Tg of the resulting thermosets was moderate and decreased when the silicon content increased. The onset decomposition temperatures decreased and the char yields increased when the silicon content increased. Epoxy resins had a high LOI value, according to the efficiency of silicon in improving flame retardance.  相似文献

Di(acryloyloxyethyl) benzenephosphonate (DABP) and acryloyloxyethyl phenyl benzenephosphonate (APBP) were synthesized starting from phenylphosphonic dichloride, and characterized by FT-IR and 1H NMR. DABP and APBP were blended in the ratios of 10-50 wt.% with a commercial epoxy acrylate oligomer (EB600) to obtain a series of flame retardant UV-curable formulations. The viscosity of the formulations greatly reduced by the addition of the reactive monomers, whereas the photopolymerization rate according to the photo-DSC analysis increased. The thermal degradation behavior and flame retardancy of the UV-cured films were investigated by thermogravimetric analysis and the limiting oxygen index (LOI). The results revealed that the blended epoxy acrylates with DABP or APBP possess improved thermal stability at elevated temperature and have higher char yields, together with higher LOI values. The data from dynamic mechanical thermal analysis showed that DABP and APBP have good miscibility with EB600. The crosslink density increased along with the content of DABP or APBP in the blend, whereas the glass-transition temperatures of the blended resins decreased compared to pure cured EB600.  相似文献

A series of flame retarded epoxy resins (EP) was prepared with a novel polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxane containing 9,10-dihydro-9-oxa-10-phosphaphenanthrene-10-oxide (DOPO-POSS). The flame retardancy of these EPs was tested by the LOI, UL-94, which indicates that DOPO-POSS has meaningful effects on the flame retardancy of EP composites. 2.5 wt.% DOPO-POSS incorporation into epoxy resin (EP-2.5), results in a LOI value 30.2 and UL-94 V-1 (t1 = 8 s and t2 = 3 s) rating. Moreover, self-extinguishing effect through the pyrolytic gases spurt is observed in UL-94 test for the EP-2.5. The pyrolytic gases and thermal stability of epoxy resins with and without DOPO-POSS were detected by TGA-FTIR under air atmosphere. Releases of gaseous species are found to be similar for the pure EP and EP-2.5. The details of fire behaviour, such as TTI, HRR, p-HRR, TSR, SEA, COPR, CO2PR, and TML, were tested by cone calorimeter. It is notable that 2.5 wt.% DOPO-POSS could make COPR and CO2PR reach a maximum, which could explain the blowing-out extinguishing effect.  相似文献

Hexakis(4-hydroxyphenoxy)-cyclotriphosphazene (PN-OH) was synthesized through nucleophilic substitution of the chloride atoms of hexachlorocyclotriphosphazene and reduction of the aldehyde groups, and its chemical structure was characterized by elemental analysis, 1H and 31P NMR, and Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy. A new phosphazene-based epoxy resin (PN-EP) was successfully synthesized through the reaction between diglycidyl ether of bisphenol-A (DGEBA) and PN-OH, and its chemical structure was confirmed by FTIR and gel permeation chromatography. Four PN-EP thermosets were obtained by curing with 4,4′-diaminodiphenylmethane (DDM), dicyandiamide (DICY), novolak and pyromellitic dianhydride (PMDA). The reactivity of PN-EP with the four curing agents presents an increase in the order of DDM, PMDA, novolak and DICY. An investigation on their thermal properties shows that the PN-EP thermosets achieve higher glass-transition and decomposition temperatures in comparison with the corresponding DGEBA ones while their char yields increase significantly. The PN-EP thermosets also exhibit excellent flame retardancy. The thermosets with novolak, DICY and PMDA achieve the LOI values above 30 and flammability rating of UL94 V-0, whereas the one with DDM reaches the V-1 rating. The nonflammable halogen-free epoxy resin synthesized in this study has potential applications in electric and electronic fields in consideration of the environment and human health.  相似文献

A novel halogen-free phosphorus- and nitrogen-containing heterocyclic flame retardant - 5,10-dihydro-phenophosphazine-10-oxide (DPPA) - was synthesised and characterised by NMR, MS, and XRD analyses. DPPA and 9,10-dihydro-9-oxa-10-phosphaphenanthrene-10-oxide (DOPO) were successfully incorporated in the backbone of diglycidyl ether of bisphenol A (DGEBA). The resultant prepolymers were cured with 4,4′-diaminodiphenylmethane (DDM) and diethyldiamino toluene (DETDA 80). The burning behaviours of the thermosets obtained were studied by UL 94 and LOI and compared to each other. Also their glass transition temperatures (Tgs) were determined by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). Due to the bridging incorporation of DPPA in DGEBA by fusion process, high Tgs for these samples were achieved.  相似文献

Homogeneous and transparent epoxy/amine hybrid resins were successfully obtained through the in situ curing of bisphenol A epoxy and hexakis(methoxymethyl)melamine with 2 wt % (3‐glycidoxypropyl)trimethoxysilane as a facial coupling agent. The hybrid resins showed good miscibility, high glass‐transition temperatures, good thermooxidative stability, and good flame retardance. The outstanding properties of the hybrid resins may lead to their use in high‐performance green electronic products. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Pentaerythritol diphosphonate melamine-urea-formaldehyde resin salt, a novel cheap macromolecular intumescent flame retardants (IFR), was synthesized, and its structure was a caged bicyclic macromolecule containing phosphorus characterized by IR. Epoxy resins (EP) were modified with IFR to get the flame retardant EP, whose flammability and burning behavior were characterized by UL 94 and limiting oxygen index (LOI). 25 mass% of IFR were doped into EP to get 27.2 of LOI and UL 94 V-0. The thermal properties of epoxy resins containing IFR were investigated with thermogravimetry (TG) and differential thermogravimetry (DTG). Activation energy for the decomposition of samples was obtained using Kissinger equation. The resultant data show that for EP containing IFR, compared with EP, IFR decreased mass loss, thermal stability and R max, increased the char yield. The activation energy for the decomposition of EP is 230.4 kJ mol−1 while it becomes 193.8 kJ mol−1 for EP containing IFR, decreased by 36.6 kJ mol−1, which shows that IFR can catalyze decomposition and carbonization of EP.  相似文献

The fluorene-containing epoxy, diglycidyl ether of 9,9-bis(4-hydroxyphenyl) fluorene (DGEBF) was synthesized by a two-step reaction procedure. In order to investigate the relationship between fluorene structure and material properties, DGEBF and a commonly used diglycidyl ether of bisphenol A (DGEBA) were cured with 4,4-diaminodiphenyl methane (DDM) and 4,4-(9-fluorenylidene)-dianiline (FDA). The curing kinetics, thermal properties and decomposition kinetics of these four systems (DGEBA/DDM, DGEBF/DDM, DGEBA/FDA, and DGEBF/FDA) were studied in detail. The curing reactivity of fluorene epoxy resins was lower, but the thermal stability was higher than bisphenol A resins. The onset decomposition temperature of cured epoxy resins was not significantly affected by fluorene structure, but the char yield and Tg value were increased with that of fluorene content. Our results indicated that the addition of fluorene structure to epoxy resin is an effective method to improve the thermal properties of resins, but excess fluorene ring in the chain backbone can depress the curing efficiency of the resin.  相似文献

Graphene oxide was prepared by ultrasonication of completely oxidized graphite and used to improve the flame retardancy of epoxy. The epoxy/graphene oxide nanocomposite was studied in terms of exfoliation/dispersion,thermal stability and flame retardancy.X-ray diffraction and transmission electron microscopy confirmed the exfoliation of the graphene oxide nanosheets in epoxy matrix.Cone calorimeter measurements showed that the time to ignition of the epoxy/graphene oxide nanocomposite was longer than that of neat epoxy. The heat release rate curve of the nanocomposite was broadened compared to that of neat epoxy and the peak heat release rate decreased as well.  相似文献

Hyperbranched polyphosphate ester (HPPE) and phenolic melamine (PM) were blended in different ratios with a commercial epoxy resin to obtain a series of flame retardant resins. The thermal decomposition mechanism of their cured products in air was studied by thermogravimetric analysis and in situ Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy. The degradation behaviours of epoxy resins containing various flame retardant components were found to be greatly changed. The incorporation of phosphorus and nitrogen compounds improved the thermal stability at elevated temperature. The kinetics of thermal decomposition was evaluated by Kissinger method, Flynn-Wall-Ozawa method and Horowitz-Metzger method. The results showed that the activation energy at lower degree of the degradation decreased by the incorporation of flame retardant components, while increased at higher degree of the degradation.  相似文献

A reactive phosphorus-containing compound, bis-phenoxy (3-hydroxy) phenyl phosphine oxide (BPHPPO) was first successfully synthesized to produce the phosphorus-containing flame retardant epoxy resin (BPHPPO-EP). The chemical structures were characterized from FTIR, MS, NMR spectra and elemental analyses. Thermal degradation behaviors and flame retardant properties of the cured epoxy resins were investigated from the thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and the limiting oxygen index (LOI) test using 4,4′-diaminodiphenylsulfone (DDS) as curing agent. The high char yields and the high limiting oxygen index values were found to certify the great flame retardancy of this phosphorus-containing epoxy resin.  相似文献

A novel epoxy system was developed through the in situ curing of bisphenol A type epoxy and 4,4′‐diaminodiphenylmethane with the sol–gel reaction of a phosphorus‐containing trimethoxysilane (DOPO–GPTMS), which was prepared from the reaction of 9,10‐dihydro‐9‐oxa‐10‐phosphaphenanthrene‐10‐oxide (DOPO) with 3‐glycidoxypropyltrimethoxysilane (GPTMS). The preparation of DOPO–GPTMS was confirmed with Fourier transform infrared, 1H and 31P NMR, and elemental analysis. The resulting organic–inorganic hybrid epoxy resins exhibited a high glass‐transition temperature (167 °C), good thermal stability over 320 °C, and a high limited oxygen index of 28.5. The synergism of phosphorus and silicon on flame retardance was observed. Moreover, the kinetics of the thermal oxidative degradation of the hybrid epoxy resins were studied. © 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Polym Sci Part A: Polym Chem 41: 2354–2367, 2003  相似文献

The cationic copolymerization of spiroorthoesters with diglycidyl compounds to introduce silicon and phosphorus has been carried out with ytterbium triflate as an initiator. The curing process was studied by differential scanning calorimetry and monitored by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. The thermomechanical and thermogravimetric properties were evaluated. The incorporation of phosphorus or silicon into the network increased the limiting oxygen index values, thus improving the flame retardancy of the materials. The shrinkage during the crosslinking of all mixtures was lower than that observed in conventional epoxy resins.  相似文献

One symmetric diamine (4) and two symmetric phenols (5) and (6) were synthesized as phosphorus-containing flame retardants. The synthesis comprised a two-step procedure: the condensation of p-phenylenediamine with benzaldehyde, 4-hydroxybenzaldehyde and 2-hydroxybenzaldehyde respectively, followed by the addition of 9,10-dihydro-9-oxa-10-phosphaphenanthrene-10-oxide to the imine linkage. The structures of (4)-(6) were characterized by FTIR, NMR and mass spectra. (4)-(6) served as co-curing agents of diaminodiphenylmethane for epoxy resins, and epoxy thermosets exhibited excellent flame retardancy, moderate changes in glass transition temperature (Tg) and thermal stability. When the phosphorus content reached 1.0 wt.%, the epoxy resin system met the UL-94 V-0 classification and the limiting oxygen index (LOI) reached more than 35.6, probably because of the nitrogen-phosphorus synergistic effect.  相似文献

Organic-inorganic hybrids were prepared using diglycidyl ether of bisphenol A (DGEBA) type epoxy and tetraethoxysilane via the sol-gel process. The DGEBA type epoxy was modified by a coupling agent to improve the compatibility of the organic and inorganic phases. The sol-gel technique was used successfully to incorporate silicon and phosphorus into the network of hybrids increasing flame retardance.Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and 29Si nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy were used to characterize the structure of the hybrids. In condensed siloxane species for TEOS, silicon atoms through mono-, di-, tri-, and tetra-substituted siloxane bonds are designated as Q1, Q2, Q3, Q4, respectively. For 3-isocyanatopropyltriethoxysilane and diethylphosphatoethyltriethoxysilane, mono-, di-, tri-, tetra-substituted siloxane bonds are designated as T1, T2, T3. Results revealed that Q4, Q3, T3 are the major environments forming a network structure. The morphology of the ceramer was examined by scanning electron microscopy and Si mapping. Particle sizes were below 100 nm. The hybrids were nanocomposites. The char yield of pure epoxy resin was 14.8 wt.% and that of modified epoxy nanocomposite was 31 wt.% at 800 °C. A higher char yield enhances the flame retardance. Values of limiting oxygen index of pure epoxy and modified epoxy nanocomposites are 24 and 32, respectively, indicating that modified epoxy nanocomposites possess better flame retardance than the pure epoxy resin.  相似文献
