In this paper we prove, among other things, that the space of all holomorphic functions on an open subset U of a complex metrizable space E, endowed with the Nachbin ported topology, is metrizable only if E has finite dimension. This answers a question by Mujica in [J. Mujica, Gérmenes holomorfos y funciones holomorfas en espacios de Fréchet, Publicaciones del Departamento de Teoría de Funciones, Universidad de Santiago, Spain, 1978].  相似文献

Let H(U) denote the vector space of all complex-valued holomorphic functions on an open subset U of a Banach space E. Let τω and τδ respectively denote the compact-ported topology and the bornological topology on H(U). We show that if E is a Banach space with a shrinking Schauder basis, and with the property that every continuous polynomial on E is weakly continuous on bounded sets, then (H(U),τω) and (H(U),τδ) have the approximation property for every open subset U of E. The classical space c0, the original Tsirelson space T and the Tsirelson-James space are examples of Banach spaces which satisfy the hypotheses of our main result. Our results are actually valid for Riemann domains.  相似文献

For an open subset U of a locally convex space E, let (H(U),τ0) denote the vector space of all holomorphic functions on U, with the compact-open topology. If E is a separable Fréchet space with the bounded approximation property, or if E is a (DFC)-space with the approximation property, we show that (H(U),τ0) has the approximation property for every open subset U of E. These theorems extend classical results of Aron and Schottenloher. As applications of these approximation theorems we characterize the spectra of certain topological algebras of holomorphic mappings with values in a Banach algebra.  相似文献

Let Ab(E) be the Banach algebra of all complex-valued bounded continuous functions on the closed unit ball BE of a complex Banach space E and holomorphic in the interior of BE and let Au(E) be the closed subalgebra of those functions which are uniformly continuous on BE. For the case whose bidual is a Marcinkiewicz sequence space Mw, we describe some sufficient conditions for a set to be a boundary of either Ab(E) or Au(E). Moreover, we consider some analogous problems on to those which were studied on the Gowers space Gp of characteristic p by Grados and Moraes [L.R. Grados, L.A. Moraes, Boundaries for algebras of holomorphic functions, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 281 (2003) 575-586; L.R. Grados, L.A. Moraes, Boundaries for an algebra of bounded holomorphic functions, J. We show that on a complex Banach space X, the functions uniformly continuous on the closed unit ball and holomorphic on the open unit ball that attain their norms are dense provided that X has the Radon-Nikodym property. We also show that the same result holds for Banach spaces having a strengthened version of the approximation property but considering just functions which are also weakly uniformly continuous on the unit ball. We prove that there exists a polynomial such that for any fixed positive integer k, it cannot be approximated by norm attaining polynomials with degree less than k. For , a predual of a Lorentz sequence space, we prove that the product of two polynomials with degree less than or equal two attains its norm if, and only if, each polynomial attains its norm.  相似文献

Let Ω be a domain of . As a study of boundary behavior of functions and maps in Ω, we consider “the linear cluster set,” which is the cluster set along segment terminating at a boundary point of Ω. We prove that there exist bounded holomorphic functions and maps defined in Ω which have the linear cluster sets of positive measure at every point of a discrete subset of the boundary of Ω under some conditions.  相似文献

We investigate certain envelopes of open sets in dual Banach spaces which are related to extending holomorphic functions. We give a variety of examples of absolutely convex sets showing that the extension is in many cases not possible. We also establish connections to the study of iterated weak sequential closures of convex sets in the dual of separable spaces.  相似文献

In this paper we construct a large class of multiplication operators on reproducing kernel Hilbert spaces which are homogeneous with respect to the action of the Möbius group consisting of bi-holomorphic automorphisms of the unit disc D. Indeed, this class consists of exactly those operators for which the associated unitary representation of the universal covering group of the Möbius group is multiplicity free. For every mN we have a family of operators depending on m+1 positive real parameters. The kernel function is calculated explicitly. It is proved that each of these operators is bounded, lies in the Cowen-Douglas class of D and is irreducible. These operators are shown to be mutually pairwise unitarily inequivalent.  相似文献

For a holomorphic function f of bounded type on a complex Banach space E, we show that its derivative df:EE takes bounded sets into certain families of sets if and only if f may be factored in the form f=gS, where S is in some associated operator ideal, and g is a holomorphic function of bounded type. We also prove that the multilinear and polynomial mappings factor in an analogous way if and only if they are “K-bounded.”  相似文献

Let Au(BG) be the Banach algebra of all complex valued functions defined on the closed unit ball BG of a complex Banach space G which are uniformly continuous on BG and holomorphic in the interior of BG, endowed with the sup norm. A characterization of the boundaries for Au(BG) is given in case G belongs to a class of Banach spaces that includes the pre-dual of a Lorentz sequence space studied by Gowers in Israel J. Math. 69 (1990) 129-151. The non-existence of the Shilov boundary for Au(BG) is also proved.  相似文献

A weak and a strong concept of plurifinely plurisubharmonic and plurifinely holomorphic functions are introduced. Strong will imply weak. The weak concept is studied further. A function f is weakly plurifinely plurisubharmonic if and only if it is locally bounded from above in the plurifine topology and f°h is finely subharmonic for all complex affine-linear maps h. As a consequence, the regularization in the plurifine topology of a pointwise supremum of such functions is weakly plurifinely plurisubharmonic, and it differs from the pointwise supremum at most on a pluripolar set. Weak plurifine plurisubharmonicity and weak plurifine holomorphy are preserved under composition with weakly plurifinely holomorphic maps.  相似文献

In this note, the existence of translation-universal entire functions which are bounded on certain closed subsets is characterized in terms of topological and geometrical properties of such subsets. Corresponding results are also stated in the space of holomorphic functions on the unit disk and in the space of harmonic functions on the plane. Moreover, it is shown the existence of entire functions which are bounded on many rays and, simultaneously, are universal with respect to a prescribed infinite-order differential operator.  相似文献

In this paper, we analyze the linear structure of the family H e (G) of holomorphic functions on a domain G of the complex plane that are not analytically continuable beyond the boundary of G. We prove that H e (G) contains, except for zero, a dense algebra; and, under appropriate conditions, the subfamily of H e (G) consisting of boundary-regular functions contains dense vector spaces with maximal dimension as well as infinite dimensional closed vector spaces and large algebras. We also consider the case in which G is a domain of existence in a complex Banach space. The results obtained complete or extend a number of previous results by several authors.  相似文献

Let f(z) be a holomorphic function in a hyperbolic domain Ω. For 2?n?8, the sharp estimate of |f(n)(z)/f(z)| associated with the Poincaré density λΩ(z) and the radius of convexity ρΩc(z) at zΩ is established for f(z) univalent or convex in each Δc(z) and zΩ. The detailed equality condition of the estimate is given. Further application of the results to the Avkhadiev-Wirths conjecture is also discussed.  相似文献
