In this paper, we consider a Sparre Andersen risk model where the interclaim time and claim size follow some bivariate distribution. Assuming that the risk model is also perturbed by a jump-diffusion process, we study the Gerber?CShiu functions when ruin is due to a claim or the jump-diffusion process. By using a q-potential measure, we obtain some integral equations for the Gerber?CShiu functions, from which we derive the Laplace transforms and defective renewal equations. When the joint density of the interclaim time and claim size is a finite mixture of bivariate exponentials, we obtain the explicit expressions for the Gerber?CShiu functions.  相似文献

In this paper, we study the discrete time renewal risk model, an extension to Gerber’s compound binomial model. Under the framework of this extension, we study the aggregate claim amount process and both finite-time and infinite-time ruin probabilities. For completeness, we derive an upper bound and an asymptotic expression for the infinite-time ruin probabilities in this risk model. Also, we demonstrate that the proposed extension can be used to approximate the continuous time renewal risk model (also known as the Sparre Andersen risk model) as Gerber’s compound binomial model has been proposed as a discrete-time version of the classical compound Poisson risk model. This allows us to derive both numerical upper and lower bounds for the infinite-time ruin probabilities defined in the continuous time risk model from their equivalents under the discrete time renewal risk model. Finally, the numerical algorithm proposed to compute infinite-time ruin probabilities in the discrete time renewal risk model is also applied in some of its extensions.  相似文献

In this paper, we study the absolute ruin probability in the compound Poisson model with credit and debit interests and liquid reserves. At first, we derive a system of integro‐differential equations with certain boundary conditions for the Gerber–Shiu function. Then, applying these results, we obtain asymptotical formula of the absolute ruin probability for subexponentially claims. Furthermore, when the claims are exponentially distributed, we obtain the explicit expressions for the Gerber–Shiu function and the exact solution for the absolute ruin probability. Finally, we discuss the absolute ruin probability by using the Gerber–Shiu function when debit interest is varying. In the case of exponential individual claim, we give the explicit expressions for the Gerber–Shiu function. Copyright © 2012 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

In this paper, we present a threshold proportional reinsurance strategy and we analyze the effect on some solvency measures: ruin probability and time of ruin. This dynamic reinsurance strategy assumes a retention level that is not constant and depends on the level of the surplus. In a model with inter-occurrence times being generalized Erlang(n)-distributed, we obtain the integro-differential equation for the Gerber?CShiu function. Then, we present the solution for inter-occurrence times exponentially distributed and claim amount phase-type(N). Some examples for exponential and phase-type(2) claim amount are presented. Finally, we show some comparisons between threshold reinsurance and proportional reinsurance.  相似文献

The paper gives estimates for the finite-time ruin probability with insurance and financial risks. When the distribution of the insurance risk belongs to the class L(??) for some ?? > 0 or the subexponential distribution class, we abtain some asymptotic equivalent relationships for the finite-time ruin probability, respectively. When the distribution of the insurance risk belongs to the dominated varying-tailed distribution class, we obtain asymptotic upper bound and lower bound for the finite-time ruin probability, where for the asymptotic upper bound, we completely get rid of the restriction of mutual independence on insurance risks, and for the lower bound, we only need the insurance risks to have a weak positive association structure. The obtained results extend and improve some existing results.  相似文献

In this paper we extend some results in Cramér [7] by considering the expected discounted penalty function as a generalization of the infinite time ruin probability. We consider his ruin theory model that allows the claim sizes to take positive as well as negative values. Depending on the sign of these amounts, they are interpreted either as claims made by insureds or as income from deceased annuitants, respectively. We then demonstrate that when the events’ arrival process is a renewal process, the Gerber-Shiu function satisfies a defective renewal equation. Subsequently, we consider some special cases such as when claims have exponential distribution or the arrival process is a compound Poisson process and annuity-related income has Erlang(nβ) distribution. We are then able to specify the parameter and the functions involved in the above-mentioned defective renewal equation.  相似文献

This paper mainly presents some global and local asymptotic estimates for the tail probabilities of the supremum and overshoot of a random walk in “the intermediate case”, where the related distributions of the increments of the random walk may not belong to the convolution equivalent distribution class. Some of the obtained results can include the classical results. For this, the paper first introduces some new distribution classes using the γ-transform of distributions, and investigates their properties and relations with some other existing distribution classes. Based on the above results, some equivalent conditions for the global and local asymptotics of the γ-transform of the distribution of the supremum of the above random walk are given. Applying these results to risk theory and infinitely divisible laws, the paper obtains some asymptotic estimates for the ruin probability and the local ruin probability of the renewal risk model with non-convolution equivalent claims, and the global and local asymptotics of an infinitely divisible law with a non-convolution equivalent Lévy measure.  相似文献

We consider a classical risk model with the possibility of investment. We study two types of ruin in the bidimensional framework. Using the martingale technique, we obtain an upper bound for the infinite-time ruin probability with respect to the ruin time Tmax(u1,u2). For each type of ruin, we derive an integral-differential equation for the survival probability, and an explicit asymptotic expression for the finite-time ruin probability.  相似文献

The structural properties of the moments of the time to ruin are studied in dependent Sparre Andersen models. The moments of the time to ruin may be viewed as generalized versions of the Gerber–Shiu function. It is shown that structural properties of the Gerber–Shiu function hold also for the moments of the time to ruin. In particular, the moments continue to satisfy defective renewal equations. These properties are discussed in detail in the model of Willmot and Woo (2012), which has Coxian interclaim times and arbitrary time-dependent claim sizes. Structural quantities needed to determine the moments of the time to ruin are specified under this model. Numerical examples illustrating the methodology are presented.  相似文献

Gerber-Shiu analysis with the generalized penalty function proposed by Cheung et al. (in press-a) is considered in the Sparre Andersen risk model with a Kn family distribution for the interclaim time. A defective renewal equation and its solution for the present Gerber-Shiu function are derived, and their forms are natural for analysis which jointly involves the time of ruin and the surplus immediately prior to ruin. The results are then used to find explicit expressions for various defective joint and marginal densities, including those involving the claim causing ruin and the last interclaim time before ruin. The case with mixed Erlang claim amounts is considered in some detail.  相似文献

In this paper we consider the discrete time stationary renewal risk model. We express the Gerber-Shiu discounted penalty function in the stationary renewal risk model in terms of the corresponding Gerber-Shiu function in the ordinary model. In particular, we obtain a defective renewal equation for the probability generating function of ruin time. The solution of the renewal equation is then given. The explicit formulas for the discounted survival distribution of the deficit at ruin are also derived.  相似文献

In this paper, we extend the work of Mitric and Sendova (2010), which considered the absolute ruin problem in a risk model with debit and credit interest, to renewal and non-renewal structures. Our first results apply to MAP processes, which we later restrict to the Sparre Andersen renewal risk model with interclaim times that are generalized Erlang (n) distributed and claim amounts following a Matrix-Exponential (ME) distribution (see for e.g. Asmussen and O’Cinneide (1997)). Under this scenario, we present a general methodology to analyze the Gerber-Shiu discounted penalty function defined at absolute ruin, as a solution of high-order linear differential equations with non-constant coefficients. Closed-form solutions for some absolute ruin related quantities in the generalized Erlang (2) case complement the results obtained under the classical risk model by Mitric and Sendova (2010).  相似文献

The expected discounted penalty function proposed in the seminal paper by Gerber and Shiu [Gerber, H.U., Shiu, E.S.W., 1998. On the time value of ruin. North Amer. Actuarial J. 2 (1), 48-78] has been widely used to analyze the joint distribution of the time of ruin, the surplus immediately before ruin and the deficit at ruin, and the related quantities in ruin theory. However, few of its applications can be found beyond except that Gerber and Landry [Gerber, H.U., Landry, B., 1998. On the discount penalty at ruin in a jump-diffusion and the perpetual put option. Insurance: Math. Econ. 22, 263-276] explored its use for the pricing of perpetual American put options. In this paper, we further explore the use of the expected discounted penalty function and mathematical tools developed for the function to evaluate perpetual American catastrophe equity put options. We obtain the analytical expression for the price of perpetual American catastrophe equity put options and conduct a numerical implementation for a wide range of parameter values. We show that the use of the expected discounted penalty function enables us to evaluate the perpetual American catastrophe equity put option with minimal numerical work.  相似文献

Abstract

In this article, we study the discounted penalty at ruin in a perturbed compound Poisson model with two-sided jumps. We show that it satisfies a renewal equation under suitable conditions and consider an application of this renewal equation to study some perpetual American options. In particular, our renewal equation gives a generalization of the renewal equation in Gerber and Landry [2 Gerber , H.U. , and Landry , B. 1998 . On the discounted penalty at ruin in a jump-diffusion and the perpetual put option . Insurance: Mathematics and Economics 22 : 263276 .[Crossref], [Web of Science ®] [Google Scholar]] where only downward jumps are allowed.  相似文献

We obtain upper and lower bounds for the tail of the deficit at ruin in the renewal risk model, which are (i) applicable generally; and (ii) based on reliability classifications. We also derive two-side bounds, in the general case where a function satisfies a defective renewal equation, and we apply them to the renewal model, using the function Λu introduced by [Psarrakos, G., Politis, K., 2007. A generalisation of the Lundberg condition in the Sparre Andersen model and some applications (submitted for publication)]. Finally, we construct an upper bound for the integrated function and an asymptotic result when the adjustment coefficient exists.  相似文献
