Results from measuring the angular dependence of differential cross sections of elastic and inelastic deuteron scattering by the 24Mg nucleus with the formation of the ground and first excited states 2+, 1.369 MeV at E d = 15.3 MeV for deuteron angles interval from 21.5° to 161.5° (lab) are presented. Experimental results are compared with calculations in various approximations of the coupled channels model. The influence of heavy particle stripping mechanisms and consecutive particle transfer is also discussed.  相似文献

The elastic and inelastic scattering of 11.8 MeV vector polarized deuterons from 34S has been studied. Angular distributions of the cross section σ(θ) and vector analyzing power iT11(θ) have been measured for the ground state and the first three excited states in 34S. Optical model parameters were first obtained by fitting the elastic deuteron scattering data alone. DWBA calculations with a collective model form factor were performed for the inelastic scattering to the excited states. Coupled-channels calculations were also done both for the one-phonon and the two-phonon excited states. The optical model parameters were suitably modified to obtain simultaneous fit to elastic and inelastic data when channel coupling was introduced. The values of the vibrational parameter β2 for one- and two-phonon states are discussed and compared with those obtained from γ-decay width studies.  相似文献

Angular dependences of density matrix spin tensors and sublevel populations are experimentally reconstructed for the 24Mg(2+, 1.369 MeV) nucleus formed in the inelastic scattering of deuterons by 24Mg at E d = 15.3 MeV and deuteron emission angles from 25° to 165° (lab). The experimental results are compared to those from calculations using different versions of the coupled-channel method.  相似文献

The results obtained by reconstructing of the experimental angular dependences of polarization tensors, the tensors of orientation of multipole moments, and the dynamical deformation of 24Mg nuclei produced in the 2+ state at 1.369 MeV in inelastic deuteron scattering on 24Mg nuclei at E d = 15.3 MeV for deuteron scattering angles between 25° and 165° in the laboratory frame are presented. The experimental results are compared with the results of calculations based on various versions of the coupled-channel method. The role of spin-orbit and tensor d 24Mg interactions is discussed along with the influence of the reorientation effect. The correlation features of the 2+ state of the 24Mg nucleus at 1.369 MeV that were determined in inelastic deuteron and alpha-particle scattering on 24Mg are compared.  相似文献

At an energy of 25 MeV and in the angular range 7°−175° in the laboratory frame, angular distributions were measured for elastic deuteron scattering on 6Li nuclei and for the respective inelastic-scattering processes accompanied by the transitions to the ground state (1+) of the 6Li nucleus and to its excited state at E x = 2.186 MeV (J π = 3+). The resulting data were analyzed on the basis of the optical model of the nucleus and the coupled-reaction-channel method with allowance for the mechanism of alpha-particle-cluster exchange. It is shown that only upon including, in the analysis, channel coupling and the exchange mechanism can the experimental cross sections for elastic and inelastic scattering be reproduced over the entire range of angles.  相似文献

Continuing previous experiments on the elastic and inelastic scattering of 11·8MeV deuterons on medium weight nuclei, Sr, Zr, Nb, Pd, and Ag targets have been studied. In addition to elastically scattered deuterons, angular distributions of inelastically scattered deuterons have been obtained for one group in Sr, and three groups in Zr and Nb, respectively, between 20° and 165°. The correlation between the diffraction maxima is discussed in terms ofBlair's phase rule. As in our previous results, this rule works poorly in the comparison between elastic and inelastic angular distributions. However the strongly excited inelastic groups which are interpreted as collective vibrational states do follow this rule. In the case of Pd and Ag, energy spectra at several scattering angles have been measured. The integrated differential cross sections of the inelastically scattered deuterons atΘ=90° of all investigated elements are compared with those of previous measurements. They show the influence of closed shells but no systematic decrease or increase with increasing atomic weight.  相似文献

New results from a series of experiments dedicated to the study of the 12C exotic state (the so-called Hoyle state) are presented. In spite of the many investigations that have been carried out, the structure of this state (which lies above the threshold for breaking up into three alpha particles) is still unknown. The different models assume that the nucleus has an abnormally large size in this excited state. However, until recently, methods for measuring the radii of unbound states have not been suggested. The best way to solve this problem seems to be by measuring the angular distributions of elastic and inelastic scattering of 12C on different target nuclei, and the determination of the radii is based on the fact that, at small scattering angles, the cross sections for direct reactions at high enough energies behave like Frauenhofer diffraction on a black ball. Accordingly, an experiment was performed aimed at measuring the elastic and inelastic angular distributions of 12C with an energy of (121.5 ± 0.5) MeV on a 12C target. The elastic scattering was measured in the angular range from 18° to 50° in the c.m. system with uncertainty in the angle of measurement equal to Δθ = ± 0.6°. The inelastic cross section was measured for the 12C excited state 2+ (4.44 MeV) and 0+ (7.65 MeV). Estimates were made for the diffraction radii for the ground and excited states. An increase was observed in the radius of the state at 7.65 MeV compared to those of the ground and first excited states.  相似文献

Using the out-of-plane γ-ray particle coincidence method we have measured the spin alignment Pzz of excited 12C(2+) nuclei from 12C+12C inelastic scattering in the energy range 16 MeV ? Ecm ? 33 MeV.Pzz varies strongly as a function of energy and angle. The correlation of resonant structures in the cross section with maxima of the alignment is particularly clear in mutual inelastic scattering and in θcm = 90° single inelastic scattering.  相似文献

The elastic and inelastic scattering of 178 MeV protons from 58Ni and 60Ni has been studied. Angular distributions were measured for the differential cross sections for elastic scattering as well as inelastic scattering from excited states below about 5 MeV, all with natural parity. For the elastic and for the inelastic scattering from the first excited state (2+ in both nuclei, the angular distributions for the polarization were also measured. The measurements extend out to c.m. angles of about 60°, corresponding to a momentum transfer of about 600 MeV/c.The elastic and inelastic scattering data were compared to the results of coupled-channel calculations in the vibrational model using a deformed spin-orbit interaction of the full Thomas form. Good agreement was found in general showing that the main features of the experimental results are well described in this model.  相似文献

Momentum distributions for inclusive photoemission of deuterons from nitrogen have been measured at laboratory angles of 43° and 50°, and for maximum energies of the bremsstrahlung photon beam of 725, 775 and 825 MeV. The double differential cross sections of deuterons emitted from nitrogen are obtained for photon energies of 750 and 800 MeV and for laboratory angles of 43° and 50°. The photon energy is determined by the photon subtraction method. Results are examined by a π0 photoproduction process off a quasi-deuteron in nitrogen (γ″d″→π0d) and by a two-step process. The two-step process means the following: first, a nucleon is produced by a photo-pion production process from a quasi-free nucleon in the nitrogen nucleus (γ″N″→πN); second, the nucleon produced at the first step picks up another nucleon in the nucleus and then a deuteron is emitted (N+A→d+anything).  相似文献

The reaction α + αα + X was measured between 3° and 11° in the laboratory, at 4.32 GeV/c and 5.07 GeV/c incident momenta. The spectra are described as an incoherent sum of quasielastic scattering on substructures of the α-target. These quasielastic cross sections have a diffractive form comparable to that of the known elastic scattering process. They are reproduced by Glauber-model calculations which use radii for these substructures much smaller than those of the free nuclei.  相似文献

Angular distributions of cross sections [α(θ)] and vector analyzing powers [iT11(γ)] have been measured for seven low-lying states or groups of states excited by the 48Ca(d, t)47Ca reaction with 13.5 MeV deuterons and analyzed by the DWBA. On the basis of comparison of vector analyzing powers with DWBA calculations, spin-parity assignments have been made or confirmed for several states. Spectroscopic factors have been extracted. Angular distributions for weak states at 3.30 and 3.57 MeV excitation in 47Ca could not be reproduced by DWBA calculations. Investigations of compound nucleus and multi-step contributions to the cross sections and analyzing powers for these states have been made by means of Hauser-Feshbach and CCBA calculations. Optical model parameters were obtained from analysis of 13.5 MeV deuteron elastic scattering cross sections and analyzing powers.  相似文献

The interaction between deuterons and 58, 62Ni nuclei at energies of E d = 3.5, 4.5 and 5.16 MeV is investigated. The discrepancy between measured scattering elastic cross section and the Rutherford ones is higher than the value calculated theoretically by considering deuterons polarization and Coulomb breakup. Analysis of measured cross section of 58, 62Ni(d, p) reaction and the results of calculation of Coulomb breakup cross section integrated over neutron emission angles shows that that the dominant mechanism of proton formation is the reaction of neutron transfer to the target nucleus.  相似文献

Antiproton-carbon elastic and inelastic scattering cross sections have been measured at 46.8 MeV over an angular range 6° ? θ ? 59° with a magnetic spectrometer. Fits to the elastic and inelastic 4.44 MeV excited state cross sections put realistic limits on the strengths of the real and imaginary parts of the antiproton-carbon optical potential. The continuum cross section due to carbon break-up appears to be smaller than it is for corresponding proton data.  相似文献

The vector analyzing power iT11 for deuterons elastically scattered by 4He has been measured for c.m. angles between 51.8° and 158.9° and deuteron energies in the range 11.5 to 17 MeV. The results show that d-α scattering is a convenient analyzer for deuteron vector polarization in the energy range investigated, since the angular dependence of iT11 is fairly insensitive to energy and the magnitude of iT11 is quite large at some angles.  相似文献

Data on the inelastic deuteron scattering on low lying energy levels in167Er are presented as a supplement to an investigation of this nucleus by the (d,p) and (d,t) reactions.The deuterons with an energy of 12·1 MeV were scattered from an167Er target and were recorded in a high resolution magnetic spectrograph at angles of observation of 60°, 90°, 125° and 150°. Absolute inelastic cross sections for several excited states were determined and discussed in terms of collective excitations and Coriolis coupling of the single particle states.The authors want to thank the Niels Bohr Institute for the use of the Tandem accelerator and for the support during the experiment. On the basis of the dispersive alpha-cluster model for target nuclei and the theory of multiple diffractive scattering, differential cross sections and analyzing powers for the elastic scattering of 400 and 700-MeV deuterons on 12C and 16O target nuclei were calculated in the pointlike-deuteron approximation. In these calculations, the amplitude for incident-deuteron scattering on nuclei was constructed with the aid of amplitudes for scattering that were obtained from a fit to data on d 16O scattering. The same features were calculated on the basis of the diffraction approximation with allowance for the internal deuteron structure by using the amplitudes obtained earlier for nucleon scattering on 12C and 16O nuclei within the same dispersive alpha-clustermodel. The latter made it possible to perform calculations without employing adjustable parameters. The observables calculated on the basis of either approach agree with available experimental data.  相似文献

The elastic scattering of α-particles on 6Li nuclei has been measured from 20° to 170° (c.m.) and the inelastic scattering to the first excited state of 6Li has been measured for forward and backward angles. The elastic scattering angular distributions are calculated (i) in terms of pure potential scattering, (ii) in terms of potential scattering with an l-cut-off on the imaginary part of the potential and (iii) in terms of the coherent addition of the potential scattering amplitude and of the exchange amplitude. The third method gives the best fit to the data. The inelastic angular distributions are compatible with the macroscopic calculations, except in the very backward region where exchange phenomena are also shown to dominate.  相似文献

The cross section for inelastic electron deuteron scattering at the quasielastic peak is calculated in the laboratory system, using complete relativistic kinematics. The difference between the exact cross section formula andDurand's simple sum rule expression is found to be approximately 1.2% for 4-momentum transfers of 2.5 to 4f?1 and the influence of the deuteron wave function on the final results to be smaller than 1% for reasonable deuteron models. Final state corrections are introduced through a simple correction term in the cross section formula.  相似文献
