Synthesis of 1-alkoxy-3-(2-hydroxyethyl)-1-triazene 2-oxides

Synthetic procedure to access the first representatives of a new series of 3-monosubstitued functional derivatives of 1-alkoxy-1-triazene 2-oxides, i.e., 1-alkoxy-3-(2-hydroxyethyl)- and 1-alkoxy-3-(2-acetoxyethyl)-1-triazene 2-oxides, were elaborated. 1-Alkoxy-3,3-bis(2-hydroxyethyl)-1-triazene 2-oxides were used to derive 3-(2-acetoxyethyl)-, 3-(2-bromoethyl)- and 3-(2-cyanoethyl)substituted 1-alkoxy-3-(2-acetoxyethyl)-1-triazene 2-oxides.

Synthesis and antimicrobial properties of 3-(β-hydroxyethyl)-1,3-oxazolidins

The possibility of synthesis of 3-(β-hydroxyethyl)-1,3-oxazolidin and its substituted derivatives at position 2 by the condensation-heterocyclization of diethanolamine with certain aldehydes and ketones was examined. The structure of the compounds was identifi ed by NMR spectroscopy. We investigated antimicrobial properties of the synthesized compounds against microorganisms that affect the lube oil M-11 and found a dependence of the antimicrobial properties on the nature of the substituent at position 2 of oxazolidin heterocycle.     

Synthesis of 2,2-dialkyl(phenyl)-4-(2-hydroxyethyl)thiadiazinones

2,2-Dialkyl(phenyl)-4-(2-hydroxyethyl)thiadiazin-5-ones are formed as a result of the reaction of thioglycolic acid with 2-hydroxyethylhydrazones. Synthesis and properties of 2-(2-pyridyl)-1-azaazulene

The title azaazulene 3 was synthesized either by reaction of tropone with N-{(2-pyridyl)acetyl}pyridinium iodide in the presence of ammonium acetate or by palladium-catalyzed cross-coupling between 2-halo-1-azaazulene and 2-substituted pyridine. The compound shows relatively stronger basicity compared with 2,2′-bipyridyl. While 3 showed no emission from the S₁ state but from the S₂ state like azulene does, the protonated species of 3 exhibited emission from the S₁ state. Cationic metal-dependent absorption and emission relating to complexation were also studied.

Synthesis of 6-(1-hydroxyethyl)-1,1-dimethyl-1-carba-2-penem derivatives via dieckmann-type cyclization

Three diaastereomers of 4 - (1,1 -dimethyl - 2 - propenyl) - 3 - hydroxyethyl - 2 -azetidinones 2, 3, and 11 were obtained by the reaction of acetaldehyde with the enolate of the silyl azetidinone 5 and dilithiated intermediate 10: The trans isomers 2 and 3 were converted into 6 - (1 - hydroxyethyl) - 1,1 - dimethyl - 1 - carba - 2 - penems 19 and 20via a Dieckmann-type cyclization.     

Synthesis and properties of 1-(6-methoxy)-2-benzothiazolyl)-2-pyridones

Substituted ]-(6-methoxy-2-benzothiazolyt)-2-pyridones were prepared from 2-amino-6-methoxybenzathiazate through N-(6-methoxy-2-benzothiazotyl) cyanvorearmileaznd-3-aryl-N-(6-methoxy-2-benzothiazolyt)-2-cyano-2-propenamides. The cyclization of the latter with malonodinitrile in the presence of piperidine gave the corresponding pyridones. Synthesis of 1,2- and 1,3-cyclic phospholipid conjugates of N1-(2-furanidyl)-N3-(2-hydroxyethyl)-5-fluorouracil

The conjugates of cyclic glycerolphospholipids and N¹-(2-furanidyl)-N³-(2-hydroxyethyl)-5-fluorouracil have been synthesized by a one-pot procedure.
