We develop a full quantum theory of transient-state electromagnetically induced transparency (EIT) in thevapor of three-level A-type atoms interacting with probe and coupling lasers. As applications of the full quantum theory,we show that transient-state EIT medium exhibits normal dispersion and find that group velocities of both coupling andprobe lasers are greatly reduced. It is shown that the group velocity of the probe laser in the transient-state EIT case isequal to that in the adiabatic EIT case and that the coupling laser group velocity in the transient-state EIT is generallyless than that in the adiabatic EIT.  相似文献

 采用洛伦兹变换推导了线性偏振激光在磁化等离子体中的非线性色散关系,根据Karpman方法推导出横波的非线性控制方程,利用线性偏振激光在磁化等离子体中的非线性色散关系和非线性控制性方程,分析了在磁化等离子体中有限振幅的扰动引起的调制不稳定性,得到了线性偏振激光的调制不稳定的时间增长率与扰动波数之间的函数关系。分析结果表明:激光等离子体的临界面附近的磁调制不稳定性的时间增长率显著增大。  相似文献

Structural features of the laser radiation self-focusing dynamics in the electromagnetic induced transparency (EIT) band are studied for an atomic system with a Λ-type energy level diagram. Effective nonlinearity of an EIT medium is manifested primarily as nonlinear dispersion (dependence of the group velocity on the wave amplitude). Qualitative analysis of the dynamics of self-action of laser pulses, which is confirmed by numerical simulation, shows that nonlinear evolution of a 3D wave packet follows the scenario of self-focusing, which serves as the background on which the envelope profile turnover and the formation of a shock wave occur at an advanced rate.  相似文献

Relativistic effects on the linear and nonlinear properties of electron plasma waves are investigated using the one-dimensional quantum hydrodynamic (QHD) model for a two-component electron?Cion dense quantum plasma. Using standard perturbation technique, a nonlinear Schr?dinger equation (NLSE) containing both relativistic and quantum effects has been derived. This equation has been used to discuss the modulational instability of the wave. Through numerical calculations it is shown that relativistic effects significantly change the linear dispersion character of the wave. Unlike quantum effects, relativistic effects are shown to reduce the instability growth rate of electron plasma waves.  相似文献

考虑半导体量子点间隧穿耦合效应,研究非对称半导体三量子点分子中的弱探测光的传播特性。线性情况下,由于点间隧穿耦合和外部控制光的协同调控,探测光的吸收特性将出现共振吸收、隧穿诱导透明单窗口、隧穿诱导透明双窗口及隧穿诱导透明三窗口的转变。此外,从反常色散到正常色散的开关效应可通过改变隧穿强度及光学控制场强度来实现。对于非线性情况,发现孤子的振幅随着点间隧穿耦合系数增大呈先增大再减小随即再次增大并减小的波动变化趋势且出现最大振幅及其对应的点间隧穿耦合强度随着外部控制光场的增大而减小。此外,发现孤子的群速度随着耦合强度的增加呈逐渐减小的趋势。  相似文献

We investigate a classical analog of electromagnetically induced transparency (EIT) currently popular in quantum electronics. We consider EIT for electron cyclotron waves in finite-temperature plasma. We derive an expression for the effective refractive index of an electromagnetic wave and study the dispersion and absorption of this wave under EIT conditions. Allowance for thermal motion is shown to radically change the behavior of the dispersion curves for the signal wave in the EIT region compared to the case of cold plasma.  相似文献

Subharmonic resonant beat-wave excitation of nonlinear relativistic plasma waves is studied analytically and in particle-in-cell simulations. We find that if the frequency separation of the lasers, Deltaomega, is 2omega(p) or 3omega(p) ( omega(p) is the plasma frequency), then plasma waves are still excited at omega(p) but they grow exponentially or superexponentially rather than secularly. Both of these subharmonic resonant instabilities saturate due to relativistic detuning. The analytical growth rates and saturation levels agree with the simulation results.  相似文献

通过数值求解符拉索夫方程和泊松方程,研究了相对论效应和温度效应对等离子体振荡破裂的影响. 不考虑相对论效应情况下,初始扰动幅度较小时,不会发生等离子体振荡破裂,系统具有时间周期性. 此时电子温度的增加,会使得等离子体振荡最大幅度减小. 考虑相对论效应时,即使初始的等离子体电子密度扰动幅度不大,随着时间演化,相对论效应也能导致等离子体振荡破裂,而且初始电子密度扰动越小,产生等离子体振荡破裂所需时间越长. 在初始电子密度扰动较大时,无论考虑和不考虑相对论效应都会出现波破裂,但两者的结果有很大不同. 此外温度效应会降低能发生等离子体波破裂的阈值;等离子体波的相速度越大,能产生的波破裂现象也越明显. 关键词: 等离子体振荡 相对论效应 振荡破裂  相似文献

In this paper we have theoretically investigated the quantum and relativistic effects on ion plasma wave in an unmagnetised dust-ion plasma. By using the method of normal mode analysis, we have obtained a linear dispersion relation. It has been analysed numerically for quantum and relativistic effects on the propagation of ion plasma wave. By using the standard reductive perturbation technique, we have derived a Korteweg–de Vries (KdV) equation which describes the nonlinear propagation of the wave. Numerically, it is shown that only compressive type of soliton can exist in the plasma under consideration. It is found that the solitary wave profile depends significantly on the quantum and relativistic parameters. The dust size, dust charge and the dust number density are also shown to have significant influences on these solitary waves. The results of this present investigation have some relevance to the nonlinear propagation of ion plasma wave in some astrophysical, space and laboratory plasma environments.  相似文献

This work presents theoretical and numerical discussion on the dynamics of ion-acoustic solitary wave for weakly relativistic regime in unmagnetized plasma comprising non-extensive electrons, Boltzmann positrons and relativistic ions. In order to analyse the nonlinear propagation phenomena, the Korteweg–de Vries (KdV) equation is derived using the well-known reductive perturbation method. The integration of the derived equation is carried out using the ansatz method and the generalized Riccati equation mapping method. The influence of plasma parameters on the amplitude and width of the soliton and the electrostatic nonlinear propagation of weakly relativistic ion-acoustic solitary waves are described. The obtained results of the nonlinear low-frequency waves in such plasmas may be helpful to understand various phenomena in astrophysical compact object and space physics.  相似文献

The association between the modified Korteweg-de Vries solitary wave and the modulationally unstable envelope solitary wave in a weakly relativistic unmagnetized plasma with trapped electrons is discussed. The effect of trapped electrons modifies the nonlinearity of the nonlinear Schrodinger equation and gives rise to the propagation of the modulationally unstable ion-acoustic solitary wave. The amplitude of the envelope solitary wave increases while the number of trapped electrons decreases. The velocity of the solitary wave decreases with increasing ionic temperature and increasing particle velocities. The ion oscillation mode, which satisfies the nonlinear dispersion relation, is also derived. The theory is applied to explain space observations of the solar energetic flows in interplanetary space and of the energetic particle events in the Earth's magnetosphere  相似文献

A general detailed analysis of the nonlinear generation of localized fields due to the existence of a strong pump field inside an inhomogeneous plasma has been performed taking into account the effects of relativistic and nonlocal nonlinearities on the structure of the plasma resonance region. Nonlinear scattering of Langmuir waves of small amplitude in an isotropic relativistic Maxwellian plasma is investigated. The investigation has been made of nonlinear forced longitudinal oscillations of a relativistic plasma. It was demonstrated that: a) the nonlinear terms (v▽)p arising in the equations of motion do not restrict the electron oscillation amplitude increase in the region of plasma resonance; b) the nonlinear terms due to the relativistic nature of oscillations, firstly, limit the oscillation amplitude in the resonance region and, secondly, lead to the development of a parametric instability. The harmonic, sub- and ultraharmonic oscillations turned out to be unstable. The conditions for the instability as well as expressions for the growth rates of unstable oscillations were obtained.  相似文献

Physical processes in a plasma under the action of relativistically strong electromagnetic waves generated by high-power lasers have been briefly reviewed. These processes are of interest in view of the development of new methods for acceleration of charged particles, creation of sources of bright hard electromagnetic radiation, and investigation of macroscopic quantum-electrodynamical processes. Attention is focused on nonlinear waves in a laser plasma for the creation of compact electron accelerators. The acceleration of plasma bunches by the radiation pressure of light is the most efficient regime of ion acceleration. Coherent hard electromagnetic radiation in the relativistic plasma is generated in the form of higher harmonics and/or electromagnetic pulses, which are compressed and intensified after reflection from relativistic mirrors created by nonlinear waves. In the limit of extremely strong electromagnetic waves, radiation friction, which accompanies the conversion of radiation from the optical range to the gamma range, fundamentally changes the behavior of the plasma. This process is accompanied by the production of electron–positron pairs, which is described within quantum electrodynamics theory.  相似文献

We report an experimental observation of nonlinear optical gain and loss assisted by electromagnetically induced transparency (EIT) and simultaneous superluminal and subluminal light propagations. Two circular components of a linearly polarized light initiate third-order nonlinear processes in which one circular component is attenuated while the other component is amplified in a three-level EIT system. Near the atomic resonance, the attenuated circular component experiences steep normal dispersion and propagates with a slow group velocity, while the amplified circular component experiences steep anomalous dispersion and propagates with a superluminal group velocity.  相似文献

应用多光子非线性Compton 散射模型、电磁波非线性色散方程和Karpman 方法,研究了 Compton 散射对线偏光在相对论等离子体中调制不稳定性的影响,给出了等离子体的非线性色散、控制和调制不稳定性增 长率的修正方程,并进行了数值模拟。结果表明:与散射前相比,随无量纲化频率值减小,即趋于等离子体临界面处,散射使相同扰动波数引起的调制不稳定性增长率更大,使等离子体临界面处的调制不稳定性增长率较其余位置尤为显著。这是由于散射光使等离子体非线性增强,形成了激光场自聚焦和自成丝的缘故。  相似文献
