In this article we use linear spline approximation of a non-linear Riemann–Hilbert problem on the unit disk. The boundary condition for the holomorphic function is reformulated as a non-linear singular integral equation A(u) = 0, where A : H 1(Γ) → H 1(Γ) is defined via a Nemytski operator. We approximate A by A n : H 1(Γ) → H 1(Γ) using spline collocation and show that this defines a Fredholm quasi-ruled mapping. Following the results of (A.I. ?nirel'man, The degree of quasi-ruled mapping and a nonlinear Hilbert problem, Math. USSR-Sbornik 18 (1972), pp. 373–396; M.A. Efendiev, On a property of the conjugate integral and a nonlinear Hilbert problem, Soviet Math. Dokl. 35 (1987), pp. 535–539; M.A. Efendiev, W.L. Roy. Soc. London Ser. A 459 (2003), pp. 945–955.), we define a degree of mapping and show the existence of the spline solutions of the fully discrete equations A n (u) = 0, for n large enough. We conclude this article by discussing the solvability of the non-linear collocation method, where we shall need an additional uniform strong ellipticity condition for employing the spline approximation.  相似文献

In this paper, we first consider the Cauchy problem for quasilinear strictly hyperbolic systems with weak linear degeneracy. The existence of global classical solutions for small and decay initial data was established in (Commun. Partial Differential Equations 1994; 19 :1263–1317; Nonlinear Anal. 1997; 28 :1299–1322; Chin. Ann. Math. 2004; 25B :37–56). We give a new, very simple proof of this result and also give a sharp point‐wise decay estimate of the solution. Then, we consider the mixed initial‐boundary‐value problem for quasilinear hyperbolic systems with nonlinear boundary conditions in the first quadrant. Under the assumption that the positive eigenvalues are weakly linearly degenerate, the global existence of classical solution with small and decay initial and boundary data was established in (Discrete Continuous Dynamical Systems 2005; 12 (1):59–78; Zhou and Yang, in press). We also give a simple proof of this result as well as a sharp point‐wise decay estimate of the solution. Copyright © 2008 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

We study the Helmholtz equation in the exterior of an infinite perturbed cylinder with a Dirichlet boundary condition. Existence and uniqueness of solutions are established using the variational technique introduced (SIAM J. Math. Anal. 2005; 37 (2):598–618). We also provide stability estimates with explicit dependence of the constants in terms of the frequency and the perturbed cylinder thickness. Copyright © 2006 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

In this paper, we give a generalization of the Schauder and Krasnosel'skii fixed point theorems in Dunford–Pettis spaces. Both of these theorems can be used to resolve some open problems posed by Jeribi (Nonlinear Anal.: Real World Appl. 2002; 3 :85–105); and Latrach (J. Math. Phys. 1996; 37 :1336–1348). Further, we applied our work to prove some existence results for a source problem with general boundary conditions in L1 spaces. Copyright © 2005 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

In this paper, several existence theorems of positive solutions are established for nonlinear m-point boundary value problem for p-Laplacian dynamic equations on time scales, as an application, an example to demonstrate our results is given. The conditions we used in the paper are different from those in [H.R. Sun, W.T. Li, Positive solutions for nonlinear three-point boundary value problems on time scales, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 299 (2004) 508–524; H.R. Sun, W.T. Li, Positive solutions for nonlinear m-point boundary value problems on time scales, Acta Math. Sinica 49 (2006) 369–380 (in Chinese); Y. Wang, C. The purpose of this paper is to study the strong convergence of a general iterative scheme to find a common element of the set of fixed points of a nonexpansive mapping, the set of solutions of variational inequality for a relaxed cocoercive mapping and the set of solutions of an equilibrium problem. Our results extend the recent results of Takahashi and Takahashi [S. Takahashi, W. Takahashi, Viscosity approximation methods for equilibrium problems and fixed point problems in Hilbert spaces, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 331 (2007) 506–515], Marino and Xu [G. Marino, H.K. Xu, A general iterative method for nonexpansive mappings in Hilbert spaces, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 318 (2006) 43–52], Combettes and Hirstoaga [P.L. Combettes, S.A. Hirstoaga, Equilibrium programming in Hilbert spaces, J. Nonlinear Convex Anal. 6 (2005) 486–491], Iiduka and Takahashi, [H. In this paper, by using the generalization of Darbo’s fixed point theorem, we establish the existence of global solutions of an initial value problem for a class of second-order impulsive integro-differential equations of mixed type in a real Banach space. Our results generalize and improve on the results of Guo et al. [F. Guo, L.S. Liu, Y.H. Wu, P. Siew, Global solutions of initial value problems for nonlinear second-order impulsive integro-differential equations of mixed type in Banach spaces, Nonlinear Anal. 61 (2005) 1363–1382] in the sense that the conditions for existence of global solution in our theorem is simpler and less strict. To demonstrate the application of the theorem, we give the global solutions of two mixed boundary value problems for two classes of fourth order impulsive integro-differential equations.  相似文献

This article studies the Cauchy problem for the damped wave equation with nonlinear memory. For a noncompactly supported initial data with small energy, global existence and asymptotic behaviour of solutions are obtained when 1?≤?n?≤?3. This result generalized the previous result by Fino [Critical exponent for damped wave equations with nonlinear memory, Nonlinear Anal. 74 (2011), pp. 5495–5505], which dealt with the solution with compactly supported initial data.  相似文献

In this article, we introduce two kinds of new hybrid projection algorithms for finding a common element of the set of solutions of an equilibrium problem and the set of common fixed points of an infinitely countable family of relatively quasi-nonexpansive mappings in a Banach space. Our main results improve and extend the result obtained by Martinez-Yanes and Xu [Strong convergence of the CQ method for fixed point iteration processes, Nonlinear Anal. 64 (2006), pp. 2400–2411] and the corresponding results.  相似文献

In this article, we deal with the global existence and nonexistence of solutions to the non-Newtonian polytropic filtration equations coupled with nonlinear boundary conditions. By constructing various kinds of sub- and super-solutions and using the basic properties of M-matrix, we give the necessary and sufficient conditions for global existence of nonnegative solutions. The critical curve of Fujita type is conjectured with the aid of some new results, which extend the recent results of Zheng, Song, and Jiang [Critical Fujita exponents for degenerate parabolic equations coupled via nonlinear boundary flux, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 298 (2004), pp. 308–324], Zhou and Mu [Critical curve for a non-Newtonian polytropic filtration system coupled via nonlinear boundary flux, Nonlinear Anal. 68 (2008), pp. 1–11], and Zhou and Mu [Algebraic criteria for global existence or blow-up for a boundary coupled system of nonlinear diffusion equations, Appl. Anal. 86 (2007), pp. 1185–1197] to more general equations.  相似文献

In this paper we establish some results regarding the existence of solution on L1 spaces to a nonlinear boundary value problem originally proposed by Lebowitz and Rubinow (J. Math. Biol. 1974; 1 :17–36) to model an age‐structured proliferating cell population. Our approach, based on topological methods, uses essentially the specific properties of weakly compact sets on L1 spaces. Our results provide positive answers to the questions posed in Jeribi (Nonlinear Anal. Real World Appl. 2002; 3 :85–105). Copyright © 2005 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

In this paper, we introduce an iterative scheme for finding a common element of the set of fixed points of a nonexpansive mapping, the set of solutions of the variational inequality for an inverse-strongly monotone mapping and the set of solutions of an equilibrium problem in a Hilbert space. We show that the iterative sequence converges strongly to a common element of the three sets. The results of this paper extended and improved the results of H. Iiduka and W. Takahashi [Strong convergence theorems for nonexpansive mappings and inverse-strongly monotone mappings, Nonlinear Anal. 61 (2005) 341–350] and S. Takahashi and W. Takahashi [Viscosity approximation methods for equilibrium problems and fixed point problems in Hilbert spaces, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 331 (2007) 506–515]. Therefore, by using the above result, an iterative algorithm for the solution of a optimization problem was obtained.  相似文献

It is shown that the forced Korteweg–de Vries (KdV) equation studied in the recent papers [A.H. Salas, Computing solutions to a forced KdV equation, Nonlinear Anal. RWA 12 (2011) 1314–1320] and [M.L. Gandarias, M.S. Bruzón, Some conservation laws for a forced KdV equation, Nonlinear Anal. RWA 13 (2012) 2692–2700] is reduced to the classical (constant-coefficient) KdV equation by point transformations for all values of variable coefficients. The equivalence-based approach proposed in [R.O. Popovych, O.O. Vaneeva, More common errors in finding exact solutions of nonlinear differential equations: part I, Commun. Nonlinear Sci. Numer. Simul. 15 (2010) 3887–3899] allows one to obtain more results in a much simpler way.  相似文献

We prove existence and uniqueness of strong solutions to a quasilinear parabolic‐elliptic system modelling an ionic exchanger. This chemical system consists of three phases connected with nonlinear boundary conditions. The most interesting difficulty of our problem manifests in the nonlinear transmission condition, as almost all quantities are non‐linearly involved in this boundary equation. Our approach is based on the contraction mapping principle, where maximal Lp‐regularity of the associated linear problem is used to obtain a fixed point equation of the starting problem. In this paper, we study a two-phase liquid–gas model with constant viscosity coefficient when both the initial liquid and gas masses connect to vacuum continuously. Just as in Evje and Karlsen (Commun Pure Appl Anal 8:1867–1894, 2009) and Evje et al. (Nonlinear Anal 70:3864–3886, 2009), the gas is assumed to be polytropic whereas the liquid is treated as an incompressible fluid. We use a new technique to get the upper and lower bounds of gas and liquid masses n and m. Then we get the global existence of weak solution by the line method. Also, we obtain the uniqueness of the weak solution.  相似文献

In this paper we prove the existence of integrable solutions of a generalized functional-integral equation, which includes many key integral and functional equations that arise in nonlinear analysis and its applications. This is achieved by means of an improvement of a Krasnosel’skii type fixed point theorem recently proved by K. Latrach and the author. The result presented in this paper extends the corresponding result of [J. Banas, A. Chlebowicz, On existence of integrable solutions of a functional integral equation under Carathéodory condition, Nonlinear Anal. (2008) doi:10.1016/j.na.2008.04.020]. An example which shows the importance and the applicability of our result is also included.  相似文献

We prove strong convergence theorems for a sequence which is generated by Halpern’s iteration. We also apply our result for finding zeros of an accretive operator. Our result improves the recent result of Aoyama et al. [K. Aoyama, Y. Kimura, W. Takahashi, M. Toyoda, Approximation of common fixed points of a countable family of nonexpansive mappings in a Banach space, Nonlinear Anal. 67 (2007) 2350-2360] by removing some assumptions on the parameters. Finally we discuss the new sufficient condition studied by Song [Y. Song, A new sufficient condition for the strong convergence of Halpern type iterations. Appl. Math. Comput. 198 (2) (2008) 721-728; Y. Song, New strong convergence theorems for nonexpansive nonself-mappings without boundary conditions. Comput. Math. Appl. 56 (6) (2008) 1473-1478] and correct the main result of Song and Chai [Y. Song, X. Chai, Halpern iteration for firmly type nonexpansive mappings, Nonlinear Anal. 71 (10) (2009) 4500-4506].  相似文献

In this paper, we introduce an general iterative scheme for finding a common element of the set of fixed points of a nonexpansive mapping and the set of solutions of the variational inequality for an inverse-strongly monotone mapping in a Hilbert space. We show that the iterative sequence converges strongly to a common element of the two sets. Using this results, we consider the problem of finding a common fixed point of a nonexpansive mapping and a strictly pseudocontractive mapping and the problem of finding a common element of the set of fixed points of a nonexpansive mapping and the set of zeros of an inverse-strongly monotone mapping. The results of this paper extended and improved the results of Iiduka and Takahashi (Nonlinear Anal. 61:341–350, 2005).  相似文献

In this paper we solve numerically a degenerate parabolic equation with dynamical boundary condition for pricing zero coupon bond and compare numerical solution with asymptotic analytical solution. First, we discuss an approximate analytical solution of the model and its order of accuracy. Then, starting from the divergent form of the equation we implement the finite-volume method of Song Wang (IMA J Numer Anal 24:699–720, 2004) to discretize the differential problem. We show that the system matrix of the discretization scheme is a M-matrix, so that the discretization is monotone. This provides the non-negativity of the price with respect to time if the initial distribution is nonnegative. Numerical experiments demonstrate second order of convergence for difference scheme when the node is not too close to the point of degeneration.  相似文献
