We show that Stanley's conjecture holds for a polynomial ring over a field in four variables. In the case of polynomial ring in five variables, we prove that the monomial ideals with all associated primes of height two, are Stanley ideals.  相似文献

We introduce the concept of t-spread monomials and t-spread strongly stable ideals. These concepts are a natural generalization of strongly stable and squarefree strongly stable ideals. For the study of this class of ideals we use the t-fold stretching operator. It is shown that t-spread strongly stable ideals are componentwise linear. Their height, their graded Betti numbers and their generic initial ideal are determined. We also consider the toric rings whose generators come from t-spread principal Borel ideals.  相似文献

In this article, we consider rings R with a partial action α of a cyclic infinite group G on R. We define partial skew polynomial rings as natural subrings of the partial skew group ring R ?α G. We prove a uniqueness result about the factorization of a monic polynomial over a general commutative ring into comaximal factors. We apply this result to address several questions raised by Steve McAdam. These questions, inspired by Hensel's Lemma, concern properties of prime ideals and the factoring of monic polynomials modulo prime ideals.

We extend Dixmier's construction of singular traces (see [2]) to arbitrary fully symmetric operator ideals. In fact, we show that the set of Dixmier traces is weak? dense in the set of all fully symmetric traces (that is, those traces which respect Hardy–Littlewood submajorization). In addition to Pisier's counterexample of a non-accessible maximal Banach ideal, we will give a large class of maximal Banach ideals which are accessible. The first step is implied by the observation that a good behaviour of trace duality, which is canon-ically induced by conjugate operator ideals can be extended to adjoint Banach ideals, if and only if these adjoint ideals satisfy an accessibility condition (theorem 3.1). This observation leads in a natural way to a characterization of accessible injective Banach ideals, where we also recognize the appearance of the ideal of absolutely summing operators (prop. 4.1). By the famous Grothendieck inequality, every operator from L 1 to a Hilbert space is absolutely summing, and therefore our search for such ideals will be directed towards Hilbert space factorization—via an operator version of Grothendieck's inequality (lemma 4.2). As a consequence, we obtain a class of injective ideals, which are quasi-accessible, and with the help of tensor stability, we improve the corresponding norm inequalities, to get accessibility (theorem 4.1 and 4.2). In the last chapter of this paper we give applications, which are implied by a non-trivial link of the above mentioned considerations to normed products of operator ideals.  相似文献

The concept of a semiprime ideal in a poset is introduced. The relations between the semiprime (prime) ideals of a poset and the ideals of the set of all ideals of the poset are established. A result analogous to Separation Theorem is obtained in respect of semiprime ideals. Further, a generalization of Stone’s Separation Theorem for posets is obtained in respect of prime ideals. We introduce the notions of implicative ideals and fuzzy implicative ideals of a distributive implication groupoid. Some properties of these ideals will be investigated. In particular, the necessary and sufficient conditions for an ideal (fuzzy ideal) to be an implicative ideal (fuzzy implicative ideal) is given. By using the concept of level sets, we will characterize the fuzzy implicative ideals of a distributive implication groupoid. In particular, this property is considered for elementary operators of lengths one and two acting on minimal norm ideals of ?(?). Given an orthonormal system B in some L2(u) we consider the operator ideals IIB and TB of B-summing and B-type operators and some related ideals. We characterize by certain weak compactness properties when IIB is equal to the operator ideal II2 of 2-summing operators. In lose that B consists of characters of a compact abelian group we characterize when IIB coincides with the operator ideal IIγ of Gauss-summing operators and when TB coincides with the operator ideal IIp of type-2 operators. Moreover, we give a necessary and sufficient condition for Fig to contain the operator ideal IIp of p-summing operators (2 < p < ∞) and for TB to contain the operator ideal Γp of p - factorable operators.  相似文献

Freiman ideals     
In this paper we study the Freiman inequality for the least number of generators of the square of an equigenerated monomial ideal. Such an ideal is called a Freiman ideal if equality holds in the Freiman inequality. We classify all Freiman ideals of maximal height, the Freiman ideals of certain classes of principal Borel ideals, the Hibi ideals which are Freiman, and classes of Veronese type ideals which are Freiman.  相似文献

Many classical ring-theoretic results state that an ideal that is maximal with respect to satisfying a special property must be prime. We present a “Prime Ideal Principle” that gives a uniform method of proving such facts, generalizing the Prime Ideal Principle for commutative rings due to T. Y. Lam and the author. Old and new “maximal implies prime” results are presented, with results touching on annihilator ideals, polynomial identity rings, the Artin–Rees property, Dedekind-finite rings, principal ideals generated by normal elements, strongly noetherian algebras, and just infinite algebras.  相似文献

We study the factorization of ideals of a commutative ring, in the context of the U-factorization framework introduced by Fletcher. This leads to several “U-factorability” properties weaker than unique U-factorization. We characterize these notions, determine the implications between them, and give several examples to illustrate the differences. For example, we show that a ring is a general ZPI-ring if and only if its monoid of ideals has unique factorization in the sense of Fletcher. We also examine how these “U-factorability” properties behave with respect to several ring-theoretic constructions.  相似文献

Let R[X] be a polynomial ring in one variable over a commutative ring R. If (R,?) is a local ring then any Weierstrass polynomial in R[X] is contained only in the maximal ideal (?,X) of R[X].
