Well-defined zigzag-shaped ramp-type Josephson junctions between YBa2Cu3O7 and Nb have been studied. The magnetic field dependencies of the critical currents provide evidence for d-wave--induced alternations in the direction of the Josephson current between neighboring sides of the zigzag structure. The arrays present controllable model systems to study the influences of pi facets in high-angle high- T(c) grain boundaries. From the characteristics, we estimate a possible imaginary s-wave admixture to the order parameter of the YBa2Cu3O7 to be below 1%.  相似文献

With significantly improved sample quality and instrumental resolution, we clearly identify in the ( pi,0) photoemission spectra from YBa(2)Cu(3)O(6.993), in the superconducting state, the long-sought "peak-dip-hump" structure. This advance allows us to investigate the large a-b anisotropy of the in-plane electronic structure including, in particular, a 50% difference in the magnitude of the superconducting gap that scales with the energy position of the hump feature. This anisotropy, likely induced by the presence of the CuO chains, raises serious questions about attempts to quantitatively explain the YBa(2)Cu(3)O(7-delta) data from various experiments using models based on a perfectly square lattice.  相似文献

We report that in YBa2Cu3Oy and La2-xSrxCuO4 there is a spatially inhomogeneous response to the magnetic field for temperatures T extending well above the bulk-superconducting transition temperature Tc. An inhomogeneous magnetic response is observed above Tc even in ortho-II YBa2Cu3O6.50, which has highly ordered doping. The degree of the field inhomogeneity above Tc tracks the hole-doping dependences of both Tc and the density of the superconducting carriers below Tc, and therefore is apparently coupled to superconductivity.  相似文献

We report on magnetoresistance measurements of the effects of 9 MeV proton irradiation on a clean, untwinned single crystal of YBa2Cu3O7-delta. For the first time, evidence for a vortex glass transition is detected in an untwinned single crystal of YBa2Cu3O7-delta with induced pointlike disorder, in which the first order vortex melting transition is completely suppressed after proton irradiation. Our results suggest that a sufficiently high pinning disorder is required in order for the vortex glass phase to be observed.  相似文献

Detailed neutron scattering measurements of YBa2Cu3O6.95 found that the resonance peak and incommensurate magnetic scattering induced by superconductivity represent the same physical phenomenon: two dispersive branches that converge near 41 meV and the in-plane wave vector q(AF)=(pi/a,pi/a) to form the resonance peak. One branch has a circular symmetry around q(AF) and quadratic downward dispersion from approximately 41 meV to the spin gap of 33+/-1 meV. The other, of lower intensity, disperses from approximately 41 meV to at least 55 meV. Our results exclude a quartet of vertical incommensurate rods in q-omega space expected from spin waves produced by dynamical charge stripes as an origin of the observed incommensurate scattering in optimally doped YBCO.  相似文献

The thermodynamics of the superconducting transition is studied as a function of doping using high-resolution expansivity data of YBa(2)Cu(3)O (x) single crystals and Monte Carlo simulations of the anisotropic 3D- XY model. We directly show that T(c) of underdoped YBa(2)Cu(3)O (x) is strongly suppressed from its mean-field value (T(MF)(c)) by phase fluctuations of the superconducting order parameter. For overdoped YBa(2)Cu(3)O (x) fluctuation effects are greatly reduced and T(c) approximately T(MF)(c). We find that T(MF)(c) exhibits a similar doping dependence as the pseudogap energy, naturally suggesting that the pseudogap arises from phase-incoherent Cooper pairing.  相似文献

Neutron scattering has been used to measure the charge and spin structure in the highly underdoped superconductor YBa(2)Cu(3)O(6.35). Incommensurate static charge ordering is found that remains at high temperatures. The magnetic pattern is complex with a resonance and incommensurate structure observed at low temperatures. The results clarify the role of striped phases in YBa(2)Cu(3)O(6+x) superconductors.  相似文献

Evidence for static alternating magnetic fields in the vortex cores of underdoped YBa2Cu3O6+x is reported. Muon spin rotation measurements of the internal magnetic field distribution of the vortex state of YBa2Cu3O6.50 in applied fields of H = 1 T and H = 4 T reveal a feature in the high-field tail of the field distribution which is not present in optimally doped YBa2Cu3O6.95 and which fits well to a model with static magnetic fields in the vortex cores. The magnitude of the fields is estimated to be 18(2) G and decreases above T = 10 K. We discuss possible origins of the additional vortex core magnetism within the context of existing theories.  相似文献

Heterojunctions of Nb-doped SrTiO3 substrate and YBa(2)Cu(3)O(y) thin films show photoconductivity and photovoltaic effects due to photocarrier injection. Photocarrier injection is expected to be a new carrier doping method in strongly correlated systems instead of chemical substitution. We have studied the nature of photocarrier injection in YBa(2)Cu(3)O(y)/SrTiO(3):Nb using x-ray photoemission spectroscopy with pulsed laser excitation. The core-level spectra shift to higher binding energy by 0.78 eV under pulsed laser illumination at 30 Hz. The energy shift corresponds to the photovoltage, which arises at the interface. In addition, we have observed that the energy shift strongly depends on the frequency of the laser. The lifetime of the injected photoholes has been estimated to be 40 ms by analyzing the frequency dependence.  相似文献

Charge neutrality and stoichiometry impose severe restrictions on the mechanisms of epitaxial growth of complex oxides. The fundamental question arises of what is the minimum growth unit when sample thickness is reduced beyond the size of the unit cell. We have investigated the growth mechanism of YBa2Cu3O7 cuprate superconductor, using a consistent approach based on the growth of noninteger numbers of YBa2Cu3O7 layers in YBa(2)Cu(3)O(7)/PrBa(2)Cu3O7 superlattices. Ex situ chemical and structural analysis evidence a 2D block-by-block mechanism in which the minimum growth units are complete unit cell blocks, growing coherently over large lateral distances.  相似文献

本文综述了高Tc氧化物超导体(La_2CuO_4及YBa_2Cu_3O_(7-8)的(计算)电子结构。本文基于Freeman教授研究组的工作。 (1) 体心四方结构的La_2CuO_4能带结构计算结果表明:La_2CuO_4的电子结构由在正方形Cu-O平面内的Cu3d-O2p相瓦作用所控制。存在一个沿[110]方向|q|=2k_F(强的)迭套的Fermi表面,它导致了电子驱动的结构失稳,以及在电子状态密度上的VanHove对数奇性。此种Fermi面的迭套被认为是引起了(Peierls 2k_F)失稳性,从而解释了La_(2-x)M_xCuO_4由四方结构到正交结构的相变。 (2) 如同在La_(2-x)M_xCuO_4中的情况一样,具正交结构的YBa_2Cu_3O_(7-8)的电子结构由Cu-O间的相互作用所支配;同时存在着二维及一维的Cu3d-O2p相互作用为YBa_2Cu_3O_(7-8)电子结构的特征。YBa2Cu_3O_(7-8)在E_F处的状态密度值低于La_(2-x)M_xCuO_4的相应值,在YBa_2Cu_3O_(7-8)中的Y或Ba原子作用如同一电子的施主。  相似文献

研究了高温超导体 YBa2 Cu3O7- x块材和厚膜在温度区间 40 0℃到 85 0℃电阻率随环境氧分压的变化关系 ,初步探索了其作为氧传感器材料的可能性。并研究了 YBa2 Cu3O7- x在不同温度条件下对氧的检测灵敏度和响应速度。实验表明 YBa2 Cu3O7- x对氧有较强的选择性 ,同一温度下电阻率随氧分压的增大而减小 ,且有较快的响应速度。氧分压减小时电阻率增大 ,块材响应速度较慢 ,但是制成厚膜后可提高其响应速度  相似文献

Measurements of the nonlinear flux-flow resistivity rho and the critical vortex velocity vphi* at high voltage bias close to the instability regime predicted by Larkin and Ovchinnikov (Z. Eksp. Teor. Fiz 68, 1915 (1975) [Sov. Phys. JETP 41, 960 (1976)]) are reported along the node and antinode directions of the d-wave order parameter in the a-b plane of epitaxial YBa2Cu3O7-delta films. In this pinning-free regime, rho and vphi* are found to be anisotropic with values in the node direction larger on average by 10% than in the antinode direction. The anisotropy of rho is almost independent of temperature and field. We attribute the observed results to the anisotropic quasiparticle distribution on the Fermi surface of YBa2Cu3O7-delta.  相似文献

We report resistivity measurements in underdoped YBa 2Cu3O6.6 and overdoped Tl 2Ba2CuO6+x single crystals in which the concentration of defects in the CuO (2) planes is controlled by electron irradiation. Low T upturns of the resistivity are observed in both cases for large defect content. In the Tl compound the decrease of conductivity scales as expected from weak localization theory. On the contrary, in YBa 2Cu3O6.6 the much larger low T contribution to the resistivity is proportional to the defect content and might then be associated with a Kondo-like spin flip scattering term. This would be consistent with the results on the magnetic properties induced by spinless defects.  相似文献

We report the observation of quantum oscillations in the underdoped cuprate superconductor YBa2Cu4O8 using a tunnel-diode oscillator technique in pulsed magnetic fields up to 85 T. There is a clear signal, periodic in inverse field, with frequency 660+/-15 T and possible evidence for the presence of two components of slightly different frequency. The quasiparticle mass is m(*)=3.0+/-0.3m(e). In conjunction with the results of Doiron-Leyraud et al. for YBa2Cu3O6.5, the present measurements suggest that Fermi surface pockets are a general feature of underdoped copper oxide planes and provide information about the doping dependence of the Fermi surface.  相似文献

We report the observation of Shubnikov-de Haas oscillations in the underdoped cuprate superconductor YBa2Cu4O8 (Y124). For fields aligned along the c axis, the frequency of the oscillations is 660+/-30 T, which corresponds to approximately 2.4% of the total area of the first Brillouin zone. The effective mass of the quasiparticles on this orbit is measured to be 2.7+/-0.3 times the free electron mass. Both the frequency and mass are comparable to those recently observed for ortho-II YBa2Cu3O6.5 (Y123-II). We show that although small Fermi surface pockets may be expected from band-structure calculations in Y123-II, no such pockets are predicted for Y124. Our results therefore imply that these small pockets are a generic feature of the copper oxide plane in underdoped cuprates.  相似文献

We analyze magnetic penetration depth (lambda) data of the recently discovered superconducting pyrochlore oxide RbOs(2)O(6). Our results strongly suggest that in RbOs(2)O(6) charged critical fluctuations dominate the temperature dependence of lambda near T(c). This is in contrast with the mean-field behavior observed in conventional superconductors and the uncharged critical behavior found in nearly optimally doped cuprate superconductors. However, this finding agrees with the theoretical predictions for charged criticality and the charged criticality observed in underdoped YBa(2)Cu(3)O(6.59).  相似文献
