The effects of multibeams and partially coherent source on the orbital angular momentum transmission of multi-Gaussian Schell model beams in an atmospheric turbulence channel are analyzed. An effective crosstalk probability model of the orbital angular momentum is derived which leads to crosstalk probability function for eigenmodes of different orbital angular momentum states and beamlets. The work shows that the evolution of the effective spatial coherence radius with growing the rms width of the correlation of the partially coherent source and the number of the beamlet in multi-Gaussian model beams. The crosstalk probability of the orbital angular momentum of an effective Gaussian-Schell model beam decreases as increasing of the degree of the spatial coherence of the partially coherent source and the beamlet number of the multi-Gaussian Schell model beams.  相似文献

Based on the paraxial approximation of the beams propagation in communication system, the square approximation of the wave structure function, the Zernike polynomial expansion of the non-Kolmogorov atmospheric turbulence-aberration and the assumption of the signal photon propagation in slant Zernike tilt corrected turbulence-channel, we analyze the effect of the multi-beam on entangled orbital angular momentum states. The joint detection probability of orbital angular momentum state entangled photons is modeled. Our work shows that the correction of the Zernike tilt aberration by adaptive optics is a method to improve the joint detection probability of orbital angular momentum state entangled photons. The crosstalk probability of the entangled orbital angular momentum states decreases as increasing of the degree of the spatial coherence of the partially coherent source and the beamlet number of the multil-Laguerre Gaussian Schell model beams.  相似文献

Orbital angular momentum of the coherent beam has been intensively studied and promises potential applications in free space optical communication. But the orbital angular momentum of partially coherent beam is not well known. In this communication the coherent-mode representation method is adopted to describe the partially coherent beam and the orbital angular momentum spectrum is introduced for the partially coherent beam. The characteristics of the orbital angular momentum spectrum of partially coherent beam are discussed. Methods for beam shaping with nonzero orbital angular momentum are studied using diffraction optical elements with the purpose of developing a source of single-photon states based on spontaneous parametric down-conversion of light in the LiNbO3 crystal in the cavity resonator. We propose interferometric methods capable of measuring either the total angular momentum, or simultaneously measuring the spin and orbital angular momentum of single photons. This development enables the measurement of any angular momentum eigenstate of a single photon. The work allows the investigation of single-photon two-qubit entangled states and has implications for high density information transfer.  相似文献

Based on the Rytov approximation, we analyze the effects of the turbulence on the crosstalk and spatial spread of orbital angular momentum modes of the Laguerre-Gaussian Schell (LGS) beams. Our results show that the spatial incoherence of light source increases the crosstalk effect of atmospheric turbulence among the orbital angular momentum states and the spatial spread of modes. The mode weight decays with the mode quality factor increasing and the refractive index structure parameter increasing. The quality factor of LGS modes increases with the increasing of refractive index structure parameter in approximate linear form.  相似文献

Based on heralded single-photon source (HSPS), a decoy-state measurement-device-independent quantum key distribution (MDI-QKD) protocol is proposed in this paper. The MDI-QKD protocol mainly uses orbital angular momentum (OAM) states and pulse position modulation (PPM) technology to realize the coding of the signal states in heralded single-photon source. The three-intensity decoy states are used to avoid the attacks against the light source. Moreover, the formula of key generation rate is given by computing the lower bound of the yield of single-photon pairs and the upper bound of the error rate of single-photon pairs. Numerical simulation shows that the new MDI-QKD protocol has high key generation rate and low error rate. Moreover, the secure communication distance can be up to 450 km.

With Rytov approximation and Kolmogorov spectrum model of index-of-refraction fluctuation, we study the effects of turbulence aberration on the orbital angular momentum of single photons in atmospheric communication channel. A theoretical model of measurement probabilities of orbital angular momentum states for single photons propagation under the Zernike tilt corrected slant path turbulent atmosphere channel is established. Our research shows that tilt-corrected residual aberration not only damage the initial OAM, but also induce new OAM. With the increasing of D/ρ0, the number of the initial OAM photons will go down while the effective number of new OAM ascends. Meanwhile, the receiving probability of initial OAM photons declines, as the turbulence shifts from weak to strong. For Zernike tilt-corrected residual aberration, the receiving probability of initial OAM photons declines as the diameter of detector increases. The effect of Zernike tilt-corrected residual aberration on OAM of the photons is more larger than the effect of Zernike tilt turbulent aberration.  相似文献

In analogy with the separation of the total optical angular momentum into a spin and an orbital part in electrodynamics, we introduce a new concept of spin and orbital angular coherence momenta into the general coherence theory of vector electromagnetic fields. The properties of the newly introduced spin and orbital angular coherence momenta are investigated through the decomposition of the total coherence angular momentum into the sum of these two components, and their separate conservations have been derived for what is believed to be the first time.  相似文献

We model the detection and crosstalk probability of orbital angular momentum (OAM) states of the entangled signal photon in the Kolmogorov channels of the low-order turbulence aberrations and by the Rytov approximation. The results show that lower OAM mode number of signal photons and larger sub-beam number of multi-Gaussian Schell-model pump beam, the less susceptible of the detection probability of the signal photon to spatial coherence of source and turbulence aberrations is achieved. The maximum crosstalk probability is decrease as the decreasing of the sub-beam number of multi-Gaussian Schell-model. Enlarging OAM difference value or decreasing sub-beam number of multi-Gaussian Schell-model pump beam results in a lower crosstalk probability of the OAM of entangled signal photons.  相似文献

We propose methods for the unambiguous discrimination of quantum states encoded in the spatial profile of light modes, in particular in the orbital angular momentum of light. Perfect discrimination between quantum states is possible only between orthogonal states of a known basis system. Generalised measurement strategies have been developed for the distinction between non-orthogonal states in a two-dimensional state space, e.g. the polarisation of light. Here we consider information encoded in superpositions of orbital angular momentum states of light, defined within an infinite-dimensional state space. Generalised measurements will be an important addition to quantum communication in high-dimensional spaces.  相似文献

本文讨论了大气信道中轨道角动量纠缠光子对的纠缠度, 并利用von Karman大气湍流谱来建立双光子纠缠度的模型, 分析了大气湍流对不同轨道角动量纠缠光子对纠缠度的影响. 研究表明: 在大气信道中, 由于大气湍流的存在, 纠缠光子对的纠缠度随着传输距离z的增加而减小; 大气湍流强度越大, 纠缠光子对的纠缠度下降的越快, 纠缠光子对传输的距离越小; 在湍流强度相同的大气信道轨道角动量指数越大的纠缠光子对, 纠缠度下降得越慢, 纠缠光子对传输的距离越远.  相似文献

We report on the generation of light carrying orbital angular momentum through Bragg diffraction into an electromagnetically induced coherence grating in a degenerate two-level system of cold cesium atoms. The induced Zeeman coherence grating is shown to contain the spatial phase structure of the incident beams. The exchange of phase information between a light beam with orbital angular momentum and a long-lived atomic coherence opens up the way to process quantum information encoded in a multidimensional state space.  相似文献

We analyze the orbital angular momentum (OAM) crosstalk of single photons propagation through low-order atmospheric turbulence. The probability models of the orbital angular momentum crosstalk for single photons propagation in the channel with the non-Kolmogorov turbulence tilt, coma, and astigmatism and defocus aberration have been established. It is found, for α = 11/3, that the turbulent tilt is the dominant aberration which causes the orbital angular momentum crosstalk, the coma is second and the astigmatism is third, but the defocus aberration has no impact on OAM. The results also indicate that the regularities of orbital angular momentum crosstalk caused by the tilt, the coma and the astigmatism are almost the same, respectively. The crosstalk probability of the orbital angular momentum increases as the azimuth mode index p of Laguerre-Gaussian (LG) beam increases, the turbulent strength Cn2 enhances, the orbital angular momentum quantum number rises, the diameter of circular sampling aperture D and the channel zenith angle θ increase.  相似文献

We analyze the effects of non-Kolmogorov turbulence on the orbital angular momentum of a photon-beam propagation through atmosphere. The probability models of the orbital angular momentum crosstalk for single photons propagation in the channel with the non-Kolmogorov turbulence aberration have been established. It is found that the crosstalk among orbits increases as the orbital angular momentum quantum number of launch beam rises, the ground turbulence strength ${C_n^{2} \left( 0 \right)}$ enhances or the non-Kolmogorov parameter α of turbulence-channel increases. As non-Kolmogorov parameter α approaches 4, the crosstalk probabilities among neighbor orbits are approximately the same.  相似文献

Based on Zernike-model expansion of turbulence phase aberrations and non-Kolmogorov spectrum model of index-of-refraction fluctuation, we analyze the effects of low-order Zernike turbulence aberrations on orbital angular momentum (OAM) entanglement states in a weak fluctuation region. The signal photon detection probability of OAM entanglement states propagating in a slant turbulence channel with non-Kolmogorov turbulence Z-tilt, defocus, astigmatism, and coma aberrations are modeled, respectively. The results demonstrate that turbulence Z-tilt aberration is the dominant aberration, coma is the second, and astigmatism is the third, but that the defocus aberration has no impact on the detection probability. As the power-law exponent of the non-Kolmogorov spectrum increases from 3 to 4, the detection probability decreases.  相似文献

The polarization state of a light beam is related to its spin angular momentum and can be represented on the Poincaré sphere. We propose a sphere for light beams in analogous orbital angular momentum states. Using the Poincaré-sphere equivalent, we interpret the rotational frequency shift for light beams with orbital angular momentum [Phys. Rev.
